When I make cosplay videos, I call myself a “cringe clown,” but I mean it in a good way. I’ve always loved performing (I used to be a competitive figure skater and dancer), but I can’t perform as myself anymore. The “real” me became too shy and self-conscious over the years. However, if I physically turn myself into someone else, I can do anything. The cringe clown has no hang ups. The cringe clown cannot be embarrassed. The clown can have fun without giving a rat’s ass what anyone else thinks. You want me to dance and act a fool on camera? You got it. Want me to humiliate myself for laughs? I got you covered. Want me to go full cabaret for hundreds or even thousands of views on TikTok? Hell yeah. I’m just a clown, and I LIKE being a clown, but I can’t do it unless I’m wearing the costume. So, for me, being a clown means freedom. It’s not putting on an outfit, it’s shedding the skin that constricts me.

kaede's modeling for tsumugi's brand new cosplays! how does she look? and it also seems she's developed a rebellious streak thanks to a couple bad influences...
finally posting my pieces for @akamatsuzine's digital zine, Overture! it's filled with non-despair goodness! it was such a joy to be a contributor on this project, thank you so much.
this is both my full page piece and my spot art for Starry's Light's fic in the zine. the zine is currently having leftover sales, go see what happens in this fic yourself!
Remnant Tsumugi, how is your talent even used? You can't "cosplay" real people (simply because that would be Ultimate Imposter's talent). Are you... playing the role of Monokuma or Monokubs in cases when they are needed, but the real robots are not available there?
Friendly Reminder: The reason Tsumugi was only cosplaying as characters from the first two games is because of the Flashback Light that contained memories of Hope’s Peak Academy. If she gave them a Flashback Light that had memories from Danganronpa 4 through 52, then she could’ve cosplayed as characters from those games. It’s supposed to hint that Danganronpa 4 through 52 had stories that were in no way related to Hope’s Peak Academy. Tsumugi stated that if she did cosplay as those characters, they wouldn’t recognize them because those characters never went to Hope’s Peak.
And remember that the reason they got the Flashback Light about Hope’s Peak was so they could have the hope to stop Kokichi from ending the killing game. Kokichi’s plan was to show everyone the outside world as a post-apocalyptic Earth, making them lose all hope and have no reason to play the killing game. And Kokichi tried to trick everyone into thinking he was the mastermind, so the real mastermind, Tsumugi, had to get rid of him by rewriting the story Team Danganronpa had planned by bringing back Hope’s Peak Academy. Tsumugi also stated that she was in a rush and overlooked the inconsistencies, so the Flashback Light about Hope’s Peak wasn’t 100% accurate with the plot from the first two games and the plot Team Danganronpa had planned.
The ending to V3 was rather opinion splitting with the majority of people not really liking it.
I fell into the 'didn't like' camp myself because I'd been a fan of danganronpa for several years by the time V3 came out
And we finally got a new game after so long
And then they just threw 'none if it was actually real' in our faces at the end
Felt like a big cop out after such a long wait.
So in some ways, I liked the vaugeness,
It implied that nothing tsumugi said could be blindly trusted
And then left it unanswered whether she was telling the truth or not.
For people who liked the ending it gives an air of mystery and intrigue
For people who didn't like the ending it gives the possibility that she was lying for the sake of despair.
To be completely real with you, I kinda adored the ending
Then again I didn’t have to wait that long for it (I finished Sdr2 in January) and I went in with the constant knowledge that it and the last series were explicitly stated to be separate things.
It was messy! It still doesn’t fully make sense! And I love that. I love that we have absolutely no idea what was true and what wasn’t. In a lot of ways I think Tsumugi pulled a lotta what she said out of her ass but I also feel like trying to deny the possibility of it being the truth goes against everything the game was ABOUT.
I unno. It was Danganronpa. It was a mess and made a lot of missteps along the way but it still found a way to touch me emotionally and that means a lot.
I liked the total ‘fuck you’ Shuichi makes to the franchise’s core of hope v despair too that just felt kinda cathartic I unno
