Since the national news isn’t mentioning this, please help me make people aware of what is happening in the midwestern USA. Our highways and bridges have been destroyed by floodwaters. Entire TOWNS are completely underwater. People are dead, some are missing. Sewage plants have been compromised and are pumping untreated waste into the Missouri River. We have a nuclear power plant that is very likely to flood and must be shut down. Property damage is in the billions. The fields and ranches that normally supply a lot of the US’s food are GONE. Last I heard, 3/4 of Nebraska’s roads are impassible due to flooding and blizzards. Between 60 and 80 thousand people have been displaced (I’ve heard both figures so I’m not sure which is correct).

Tr?mp doesn’t care. Judging by what’s trending on twitter, most of our own country is more interested in celebrities making stupid decisions than in acknowledging our crisis. We will need a great deal of help in the upcoming weeks.

Nobody is really talking about the bomb cyclone that has past through the midwest and has devastated many communities in Nebraska. There’s blizzards in the east and flooding in the west.

So half of my beautiful home state of Nebraska is underwater and it's not being brought to national attention??

Thousands have been displaced from their homes.

Cattle ranchers and farmers have lost their homes, sources of income, livestock, and crops.

People are trapped in their towns by roads and bridges that have been washed away.

But it's fine. I'm sure the rest of the country will do fine without their main sources of beef, corn, wheat, and other meats, vegetables, and grains. They don't need to know about this natural disaster happening right in the center of our great nation.

The Red Cross is working toward relief efforts and they could use some help. Please check on your loved ones.

To all the turds saying that the crisis in Nebraska is ‘irrelevant to the economy’:

One million (1,000,000) cows/calves were lost to the flooding.

Cropland that’s still flooded at this point may not get planted at all.

In case that means nothing to you (because ya’ll big city folks don’t understand as much as you obviously think you do), and you are still insisting it doesn’t affect you, don’t come back and complain when beef, corn products, and fuel prices sky rocket. Because that is what is going to happen.

Nebraska has been hit by flooding which has had a wide spread effect. This Friday at Anime NebrasKon's Open House meeting, we will be collecting items to distribute to other charities to help with their flood relief efforts.

Items that we are focusing on collecting are those for cleaning such as: household cleaners, bleach, brooms, towels and garbage bags.  We will also be looking for items specifically related to helping with animal rescue focusing on pet food/treats, towels, blankets and kitty litter.

If you are able or interested in helping out, you can stop by your open house meeting at the Ramada Plaza- in the Colorado Room A between 8 pm and 10 pm this Friday to drop off your donation. The Ramada Plaza is located at 3321 S 72nd Street Omaha, NE 68124

You know what the worst thing is? Being away from your home state for a month and it is underwater...literally. Just to top that off you can’t do a damn thing about it. Some of my friends and family have been evacuated from there homes or stranded in different towns by themselves all around the state. Like my home town is land locked along with others.Please keep Nebraska in your prayers.

Well, today is a good day. There are a lot of bad things happening in the world, but the little miracles make up for it. After having thought he didn’t survive with the Nebraska flooding, Jaime-Lynne and her kiddos (oldest daughter, @lexeigh.morgan pictured here) were surely surprised and elated to hear that he had been rescued by the Nebraska Humane Society. Now, Duncan has been reunited with his incredible family, and it’s a GOOD DAY. These pictures make me so happy!
