note to self to think about.

the corruption xayah deals with in sg has nothing to do with dying. that was part of the causes that opened her up to being weak to the corruption, but it has nothing to do with dying. in light and shadow, zoe even starts to corrupt neeko until ahri appears. sarah starts to succumb to it in the twin stars story. and clearly akali also deals with a form of it ( whether it's the same type of corruption or something different i'm not sure since her story is separated from xayah and rakan's ).

basically, something i used to attribute to her corruption was zoe being the one to resurrect them. while this plays a role, i think i need to ponder more about how it's more a battle of light and dark more so than dying. and how xayah and akali both learn to balance their different forms of darkness.

( another note to myself, xayah refers to her corruption as her being fully evil and not corrupted but i think this is her lying to herself. perhaps it's both. the corruption brought out a darkness/evil in her, but she was corrupted to a degree despite what she was willing to admit. )

curveball: favourite star guardians characters/relationships?

Last time I drew Star Guardians my hand cramped up so bad for the rest of the day and I have work in like… an hour and a half… so I think I’ll take this one thru text! I rly like the dynamic of Akali and Kai’Sa but my favorites are probably Ezreal and Jinx (and at least skin-wise Neeko and Ekko - I think SGs have rly great SFX and VFX)… BUT IM ALSO A SUCKER for Xayah and Rakan in that universe… I’ve talked so many ears off about them???

It has been like...2 years since I made my last animatic with the birbs. Finally starting to prepare another. It gonna feature Star Guardians birbos, and will likely have Ahri, fortune and Neeko and Zoe.👀 Because I've really been wanting to make a SG animatic with the song 'No Light, No Light' by F.lorence and the machine. I swear, I've had SG on the brain whenever it comes on in shuffle, I've made many imaginary animatics with my head with it. 😂 But finally got something in mind that I'm happy with 👀

Hey, sorry I’ve been gone. I’ve had other things like with, my studies are starting back up this week, and just general low fuel for LOL posting.

But, as an apology gift, I’m working on a new SG story focusing on the one and only Miss Fortune. I’m thinking it’ll be a story that goes across SG Sarah’s life, but we’ll see. I also have a comedic/wholesome story about Ahri’s team meeting Neeko for the first time.

Miss Fortune is nineteen when she learns what vengeance feels like. And contrary to popular belief, it isn’t cold.

Vengeance is the feeling of rocketing through aliens to get to your target, despite how your friends shout for you to stay back. Vengeance is the sound of firing magic bullets over and over while dodging your opponent’s swings. Vengeance is the feeling of a hoarse thrust as you barrel into your foe with a furious yell.

Miss Fortune brandished her weapons without their usual cocky smirk, this was all business. Gangplank smiled, pulling out his cutlass and gun.

“I was hopin’ you’d show,” he says with a twisted yet laid back smile.

Gangplank was a star guardian who’d lost his way. Someone who perverted his powers for his own selfish purposes, making a crew of deadly monsters to scourge the world and gain new powers from fallen guardians.

And he was the man who killed her mother. It was his fault.

And he would pay.

also me also thinking about all of sg xayah’s trauma again and just general struggles in life.  because i’ve headcanoned her as always a bit... shoved aside in life.  so focused on becoming stronger and training and her power that she forced herself into a loner position.  valuing her family more than anything only to fail to save her parents and watching her home collapse in a fire that took their lives. being sent to a school away from the town she grew up in and loved...  once more alone and agitated.  but then finding rakan.  finding ahri and sarah and neeko through him.  finding a family and a love.  then once more losing all of it.  the death, feeling betrayed, zoe playing with her head.  my xayah has had her mind literally messed with in order for her anger to more fully corrupt her under zoe’s resurrection.  zoe ripped memories from her to make her more dependent and hurt and furious. coming back to life, being forced into a leadership role to save rakan, facing the people whom she knew nothing but anger against for who knows how long...  having to learn how to trust and be friends again.  she’s cheesy and passionate, and she clings to wanting those good things again...  but it’s a lot to take in and deal with.
