Been a while since I’ve made a bnha post on this blog but I wanna talk abt 319 bc I just reread it and I have Thoughts. This probably won’t be very organized knowing me so I hope it makes sense lol

Firstly, I was so happy to see our class-a crew again. I didn’t realize just how much I missed them until I saw them all gathered together in the dorms. And of course the thing that brought them together was midoriya. It’s like aizawa said during the licensing exam arc: midoriya has a constant presence and influence on every member of the class, even when he isn’t with them

Their little meeting all comes together in this moment right here:

Every member of class-a is worried about deku. All they want to do is see him safe and sound, but they also all know him well enough to know that he isn’t going to be thinking of himself and his safety. So they come up with the best solution: tell him how much they care. Make contact with the heroes he’s with, and they eventually get to him. Also sidenote: ururaka looks absolutely gorgeous in that last panel

So they do exactly that. They “be a little pushy” and finally get into contact with endeavor to convince him to help. And one thing that felt so powerful to me was this panel right here

I’ll admit it was a little strange to see them all in their uniforms again bc it feels like it’s been so long, but I feel like that only added to the effect. They’re presenting themselves as one united front that won’t take no for an answer. Even bakugo has his uniform done up right, tie and all.

I feel like that really speaks to his development and how far he’s come from the bully we saw way back in the first volume. He’s able to work alongside others and be a part of team and even look the part too.

(A little bit of a tangent but I’ll admit, I didn’t like bakugo at first. I thought he was only a bully and an asshole and that he could never be anything else. I started to change my mind around the sports fest, when izuku talked about bakugos opening speech. He mentioned “the old kacchan” and that kinda forced me to realize that bakugo would be changing no matter what. Now he’s one of my favorites and I’m really proud of how far he’s come. But anyway, back to the chapter at hand)

Going back to the “united front” panel, another thing that really struck me was the looks on everyone’s faces, especially minas. She’s always very animated and dramatic with her expressions and body language, so it’s strange to see her so toned down and serious. Just a another reason why this panel sticks out to me

Anyway, moving on. We have iidas final speech before we return to the present where the class has joined deku

It’s a common thought among the fandom that iida is Class Dad, and we see that here. Deku is one of his best friends, so of course he’d “follow him wherever he decides to go.” It isn’t surprising that he’d say that for himself. But the fact that he speaks for the class as a whole, saying all of them would follow deku to the ends of the earth, that speaks volumes to me. That’s why I see this as a Class Dad moment and not just as best friend moment. He speaks for the class because he can, and he knows his class well enough to know that none of them will disagree. It’s touching just how much he cares, not only for deku, but for all of class-a

And I want to speak on the facial expressions of the rest of the class again. They all look mostly determined, but you can see they look a little sad as well. It’s especially clear to me on momo and todorokis faces. I feel like momo has probably found a way to blame herself or take responsibility for not seeing how much deku was dealing with (which is absolute bs. She didn’t notice anything because deku didn’t want her to. He didn’t want anyone to). Todoroki looks more angry and determined in the group shot, but that close up in the first panel. He’s upset that one of the only people he considers a friend would leave the class behind and be so reckless with himself. He honestly looks a little lost to me

This post has gotten a whole lot longer than I originally wanted/planned/expected so I’m gonna try to wrap it up quick oops. If you’ve read all the way through: thanks for sticking with me so far!! We’re almost at the end I promise!!

I’m putting these two sets together because I feel like they should be

At first dekus confused, and of course he is. Why are they here? How did they get here? How did they find him? And ururaka answers honestly and sincerely “because we’re worried.” Of course, dekus quick to reassure them “I’m ok” because that’s the kind of hero he wants to be. He’s said so many times before: he doesn’t want anyone to worry about him. But it’s obvious that he’s not ok and bakugos quick to point it out. He’s sarcastic and rude because that’s how he always acts towards deku. He wants things to go back to normal and he’s gonna do what he can to make sure they do

And the smiling thing. That’s something that’s been huge in this series since the beginning. deku wants to save people with a smile, but in these recent chapters, it honestly looks like he’s forgotten his dream. And once again, bakugos quick to say something. He’s the one who’s known deku the longest and (arguably) knows him the best, so it makes since that he’d be the one to remind deku of his dream. It’s another way of trying to get back to normal

And now these two panels. They’re absolutely heartbreaking

Dekus changed so much and not in a positive way. His friends have tried talking, but that hasn’t done shit, so they’re going to help the only way they can: beating the self care into deku like their lives depend on it. They’re hero students, they’re “actions” people not “talking” people. As much as it hurts me, the only way I can see this ending is with a fight

I think the problem is that both Bakugo and Endeavor were good villains. At the very least, Todoroki’s dad was a REALLY good villain, because he was shown to abuse a literal 5 yo (I think?) child and he literally drove his wife to insanity (I don’t say that she is not to blame about what happened to Shoto, but at least I can understand that she wasn’t mentally well when she hurt her son).

I swear to god Horikoshi just stole this whole “number one hero that is loved by a lot of ppl and is considered a good guy turns about to be a deranged abuser in his normal life” bit from tiger and bunny and then just separated this one character into two (All Might and Endeavor).

Like I don’t say that it was a bad idea to do it, but at least COMMIT PLEASE.

Also, I will never get over the fact that Bakugo will never be called out on his bullshit, bc then it will be revealed to everyone that Deku was quirkless (after all that was one of the reasons why Midoriya was bullied). Baku can just say “sorry”, but still remain rude, loud and Obnoxious and this is fine, I guess?

Also, let me just say this. If the whole point of redemption of these two characters was to show that shitty people are rarely called out on their bullshit irl, that abusers live happily while their victims left to try and recover themselves, and just in general that life is unfair it would have been one thing. Like, you know, “the world keeps going even when you was wronged/hurt and you can’t do anything about it, learn to live with it and move on”. But the thing is. ITS NOT THE POINT. ITS JUST HORIKOSHI’S SHITTY WRITING. Ugh, I’m really angry :/

You know I think one of the reasons why I am so angry at Bakugo and Endeavor while I don’t really care about other villains as much is because:

1) they are heroes. They are supposed to be GOOD people or at least someone you wouldn’t want to stab in real life. But even though both of them want to be/ARE pro heroes they both do some VERY fucked up shit and don’t feel bad about… like, bro. Isn’t that… unhealthy? Where is your sympathy? Why do you want to be the literal representation of “good” in your world if you don’t even see that your actions are foul and villainous?

And 2) because it’s way easier to meet people like Bakugo and Enji irl than people like Dabi, Toga and Tomura. Like, sure, there are a lot of evil, deranged people out there, but for majority of us we will be lucky enough to NEVER meet an actual murderer/terrorist even once in our life. Bullies and domestic abusers, though? This shit is everywhere and you simply can’t ignore it. I’ve seen people, who, just like Deku, liked their bullies and thought of them as their friends and that was shitty, angering and heart breaking. I know people who were abused by their parents/partners. And that is exactly why I despise both of these characters so much. They are just too real, and at the beginning they are shown to be as great villains, but now author just tries to do every thing to excuse their past actions to the point of literally rewriting the story to help these characters to look less shitty. Like bro. BRO. Just stop.

Also, while I know that Bakugo not even half as bad as Enji (bc, you know… he didn’t abuse his wife and kids… YET lmao), but he was bullying Deku bc of his own big fat ego. He doesn’t even have any good reasons to be a bully like “oh he have a shitty home life” or some shot like this. He is the only child in the full family, I suppose that his family doesn’t struggle, he is also very popular with his peers and smart, I suppose (how can HE be smart is beyond me, but oh well…) and he also have a very strong quirk… in other words, he is just a spoiled, gross kid who is hypocritical to an unhealthy level, who lacks sympathy and doesn’t understand that his actions might have either killed or destroy someone’s life… our heroic Bakugo, everybody

Yeah Shoto was 5... I remember this because I remember Rei crying after Endeavor punches him and saying 'hes only 5' and Endeavor responding with 'no hes already 5' and smacks her like I guess thats past the perfect time to punch your child so hard in the stomach they throw up...

Yeah with Rei Im not bothered at all with how she was handled in that moment because she clearly suffered some psychotic break when she attacked her son and then immediately appologized and tried to help... and she was punished for it. Which is a reasonable story bit... however Endeavors 'redemption/attonment' arc never included her... like he never went to see her that entire time and she had to come to him? Absolute garbage.

LMAO Oh yeah... the guys son was a blue fire guy too wasnt he? ... well hey now. His whole ordeal as a vigilante was an awful lot like Stains thing too who Dabi was inspired by.... now you might be onto something nonny! LMFAO

But YES Horikoshi has a hard time committing to anything he starts... even Stain looks a bit like a chump because of Horikoshi never following through with any corrupt heroes...

LMAO Dekus secret already did get out and no one said anything... I mean Bakugo DID technically apologize finally but hes still being an obnoxious ass even now because he can never change because hes the most popular character and his shitty personality is what people like (presumably).

Yeah its definitely not about reflecting any reality... not when all the important good guy characters whos opinions we should care about all dismiss Endeavors past even though they should have no say in it.

1- I actually dont mind the idea that heroes can be bad people... characters having different motivations for why they become heroes is fine money fame w/e... its fine... but its not written well.

Bakugo is the worst with this because he does want to be a hero but he never like reflects on how shitty his behavior is like when he set that bomb off in Dekus face or like how he doesnt seem bothered that Shiga and the crew think he'd make a good villain... if he really wanted to be a hero youd think he'd at least have some moments where he questioned the shitty things he does and tried to do better. But Horikoshi doesnt seem to want anyone (including Bakugo) to admit what a piece of shit Bakugo is so he can never grow from it and now its kind of too late so... just let him jump in front of a bullet and say sorry and continue to be a prick no questions asks... sure. W/e.

2. Yeah The LOV are a bit too cartoony(which is causing its own problems now that Hori is trying to make them seem deeper than they were Togas especially bad.) but Horikoshis writing with them hasnt been great either. Shiga gets some good shit but hes also a meat puppet for AFO so...

It makes sense to hate Bakugo and Endeavor because they feel more real... and they could have had a good story if Horikoshi wasnt so flaky in his writing.

GOD YES. Bakugo not even having a reason to be as shitty as he is really just adds to it... like at least Sasukes whole family was murdered... still a dick but at least in the beginning he was relatively understandable that he might not have been in the mood for bullshit around him.

Bakugo is just another shitty guy whos violent because things arent going exactly the way that he wanted, constantly inconvenienced that other people are living without him being the center of attention. So tragic.

People tend to be bullied because of their characteristics - every individual is made up of them. Sure there are beauty standards in each society that not everyone can live up to - it doesn't make all of us who don't victims.

I have been bullied at one period of my life because I was much smarter than my class average. I don't see myself as a victim of some nerd-hating society or a victim of anyone. I had some dumb 12-year olds who hated me and made my life miserable for a couple of years and then I moved on.

Again and for the last time from my part on this topic. These are the canon facts:

Deku has been bullied by Bakugou specifically from sometime after the river incident until the Sludge villain attack;

All instances of shown bullying were somehow tied either to Deku's hero ambition and/or him sticking to Bakugou despite being pushed away (whether playing hero games or wanting to join UA - we don't see Bakugou actively going out of his way to bully Deku);

Bakugou's two lackeys once took a hero magazine out of Deku's hands, which Bakugou told them to give back (in the Deku & Bakugou Rising spin-off)

We see one example of Bakugou bullying and the class laughing at Deku and the teacher not doing anything when Deku announces that he wants to try out for the top hero school in Japan. An incident framed specifically in the context of Deku's hero ambition, which is considered by many, including All Might himself, an unrealistic pipe dream.

UA used to not allow the quirkless to apply (which is a factual discrimination) but that restriction has been lifted by Deku's time and Deku could theoretically apply.

You are entitled to fill out the blanks with your HCs, just as I'm entitled to fill it out with my own. I'm building my interpretation based on how the rest of the story pans out.

If Deku is such a paragon of heroism and moral righteousness, if quirkless discrimination was such a widespread persecution and victimization, I assume he would have fought it and brought it up by now. He didn't. The story didn't. All Might who was also quirkless didn't either. So my conclusion that it's more like a shit roll of the genetic dice in the context of that specific dream.

I love basketball. I'm 1.52 cm. I worked super-hard on my basketball trainings, even harder than my taller peers and I wasn't untalented. also, note: I havent caught up on bnha in a minute, I'm at like the start of the war arc but I barely remember shit there tbh so like. probs missing new stuff. also bnha spoiler warnings lol

so, for starters, the homie bakugou has like,, a good handful of issues that come from his childhood that explain why he's an ass. he was always praised and never actually reprimanded for being a twat which led to him having a huge ego that ended up fucking him over majorly. this ego was something that his mother acknowledged him having, but literally didnt try to fix it with anything other than violence. see here:

like, instead of trying to help him, she hits and insults him, which is probably what led to his weird inferiority/superiority complex. being constantly told by others that you're outstanding and one day you'll be a top hero because you're rude and aggressive and then going home and being hit by your mother for those exact same behaviors is bound to fucking confuse a child.

so like, now that we've established that its definetly canon that his mother (parents? I think he said parents at some point but masaru doesn't seem like the type so 🤷) hits him though we don't know how much or how often (though if bakugou was as much of a little shit back then ((which as far as we've seen- he was)) then it was probably often), lets talk about how regardless of all that 1) hitting your kids as "discipline" not only doesn't work but is abusive lol like idc if it's spanking/popping them on the mouth for talking shit, slapping them across the face "on occasion", etc. shits not okay 2) hitting your kids!!!! does not work!!!!!!!! it is literally PROVEN not to work!!!!!!!! hitting a child who has done something wrong doesnt teach them to stop doing something it teaches them to be scared of you, which will cause the child to withdraw, removing part of their support system (assuming said abusive parents would even offer that up) and will most likely lead to them thinking they're a bad person, not that their actions were bad, which are two different things. so, ya know, that would clearly have an effect on a kid. like, as someone with a mother who reminds me all too much of mitsuki: I have acted like a complete shitbag and taken my anger out on people to feel better in the past because of the way my mother treated me. though it was nowhere near what bakugou did, I still know first fucking hand what a mother hitting and insulting her child will do, especially if they have no proper outlet for that (friends, a safe place to vent) which bakugou never fucking had.

theres also the fact that just talking to your kid the way mitsuki does (saying it's his fault he was kidnapped because he's weak, all while hitting him) is not??? okay?????? ive seen people arguing that this was just a joke in poor taste but like her son was KIDNAPPED and even if it was a "joke" there's literally NO WAY that would EVER?? BE FUNNY??????? she just sounds like the kind of parent who at the very least says shit without thinking that would traumatize bakugou (because being told right after being kidnapped it's your fucking fault by your mother is absolutely traumatizing) but it comes across as her being emotionally abusive.

mitsukis character as a whole comes across as a shitty mom who doesn't realize she's a shitty mom and thinks bakugou being an ass isn't at least partially her fault even though she's admitted to realizing he has always had an ego problem and doing nothing to fix it except for hitting and yelling which obviously did nothing but make him just as loud and violent as she is.

this is obviously not the entire reason why he's a dick but he was never properly taught that the shit he was doing wasn't okay and people not stopping it and/or praising him endlessly even tho he was a bully is basically the same as encouraging it, thank you very much.

moving on from that, let's talk about bakugous other traumas and how he naturally responds to them. hint: it's with either full blown panic or a fight response (verbal or physical, though usually physical. also sometimes it's the panic followed by the fight response.)

so far in bnha (keep in mind that I am not caught up, I've only read up to the beginning of the war arc and i barely remember those bits so) bakugou has...

nearly died via sludge villain (he was unable to move and was being suffocated to death- keep this in mind)

lost for the first time ever and against deku of all people (this nearly sent him into a full blown panic attack, likely because of that sexy little inferiority/superiority complex combo. think of this as like. gifted kid burnout lite. he has always been the best of the best and now suddenly he is being beaten by somebody who has always been weaker than him, which immediately makes him start thinking he was never actually that good, he's actually a fucking failure, a goddamn fraud)

won the sports festival by default (bakugou counts this as yet another failure because todoroki didnt try his best. had bakugou lost to todoroki full strength, he would've taken 2nd place with a bit of bitching, but he still wouldve taken it rather than refuse the medal as it would be a reminder that he failed. instead of accepting that like UA shouldve, the staff chained and muzzled him on live television and then had all might, his fucking idol, force the medal into his mouth. remember the sludge villain incident and how he couldnt move and was suffocating to death? yeah.)

been kidnapped because of the way he reacted to winning during the sports festival (he was aggressive and tried to refuse the medal because he felt he didnt deserve it and was then retraumatized by being chained up and muzzled. his "villainous attitude" was a fucking trauma response, do not tell me otherwise)

was then chained up once again by the LOV after being kidnapped,,, do we see the "retraumatize bkg" theme yet?

"ended all might" (he literally blames himself for all mights retirement because had he just not have been weak, all might wouldve had more time, right?)

my point with all of these is that bakugou has been severely traumatized and has then had his trauma responses (aggression, fight) used to further demonize him. not all people with trauma react the fucking same and the way the fandom just refuses to acknowledge anger as a valid form of trauma response is gross as hell.

moving away from that topic, bakugou has literally never had any actual friends, they all just used him and didn't care about him which absolutely will fuck up a kid, especially one who already has all that other shit going on. bakugou deadass never had a support system or people to help him grow as a person, let alone properly work through his fucking emotions so it's not surprising that he would take out his bullshit on the one person who tried to help him especially considering he saw dekus actions as him thinking he was weak. bakugou was raised to not seek help, he thought somebody strong shouldnt ever need it, so for somebody like deku (who bakugou percieved as weak and helpless already) to offer up help? deku must obviously think bakugou is even weaker than him, what other explanation could their possibly be!

speaking of which, there's his heaps of insecurities that he basically hid by being a twat and bullying others for most of his life. kid was so insecure he bullied deku for fucking years cause he thought deku looked down on him, thought he was better than him, etc. and that only got worse bc his idol then decided to take deku in, train him and even give him his quirk. there's probably some shit im missing but still he's got issues and always has had issues. that being said, he's actually improving and working them out now which is what makes him a really good, interesting character. it's also nice to see a character who is a dick without some tragic backstory (like his backstory is sad but its not the classic "my family was fucking slaughtered and i turned into a raging bitch who murders people" type shit) bc that rarely happens and it's like most assholes don't actually have a story like that they're just assholes lol

now lets talk improvement! lil bitch has been getting better since he got into UA and im so happy abt it!! he had a rough start what with deku suddenly having a quirk and all but like he is really improving now and it highkey shows that bakugou just mostly needed people who 1) didn't constantly praise him and actually criticized him instead 2) actually fucking punished him doing stupid shit and 3) some motherfucking friends

Since going to UA he's gotten actually feedback from teachers about his weaknesses and how to get stronger, he's lost against others, hes been told he has a shit attitude and is a dick, told he should be nicer and leave deku alone, etc etc. He hasn't gotten in trouble too much with teachers but others give him shit for what he does and aizawa has punished him too, while still acknowledging that bakugou is an amazing and dedicated student, something which no one else had done up til that point. and uh???? homie actually has friends who like,,, don't use him and also call him out when he's a dick. like specifically kirishima has done this shit and him and bakugous relationship is clearly very healthy and beneficial for the both of them. makes me feel all happy n shit, ya know

bottom line is: while it is absolutely valid to dislike or even hate bakugou because he is a massively flawed person who has been very cruel to others, villainizing him for the way he acts which in large part seems to be from a lack of guidance, a shitty mother and heavy amounts of trauma, is fucking awful. his actions cannot be fucking excused, he needs to apologize and continue to grow, but he is also a fucking teenager, who is just now being told that the way he acts is unacceptable by people who dont fucking abuse him (and I swear to god if any people who think mitsuki isnt abusive interact with this fucking post I will fullstop hardblock you, I do not fucking care) and actually treat him like a normal person instead of some prodigy child or someone who needs to be fixed.

50 headcanon challenge prompted by @bnharpchub​ bc so many people were doing it on dash and my restraint is only so strong 

coming up with 50 new headcanons was so difficult jfc AWOEINAWE i cheated a bit and some of them mention hcs I already wrote about before, but I did my best to focus on a different part of it to give it a new spin so it’s technically new....ish. awoieNAWEIAWNE

he learned how to cook because his parents were always busy and he wasn’t going to just expect them to cook for him when he could just do it himself ( he learned a whole LOT of things because he realized he could just do it himself )

he doesn’t usually keep things for sentiment reasons. there ARE a few exceptions, but for the most part if it’s important enough to remember he’ll just simply remember it 

he likes the view from up high. mountain climbing really made him aware of that, and it was a part of the reason why he wanted to learn how to fly ( that, and just the fact of it being practical, using his quirk to enhance movement ) 

sometimes puts on a clear coat of nail strengthening polish during weeks of particular harsh training. he would put on coloured polish too, but they often get ruined very quickly because of how much he uses his hands and so he doesn’t see the point to do it often 

his sweat isn’t actually toxic ( mostly bc I do NOT want to deal with all the problems having toxic sweat would cause, but there is more to it that I’ll write in depth of another day when I’m less lazy ) 

His volume is one of the few ways he feels like he can be heard. His mother is also a very loud person, and growing up he would be stuck in situations where if he doesn’t yell LOUDER, he won’t be heard. If he is WILLINGLY quiet around you, that is a sign of trust, a sign that he’s comfortable enough to not feel the need to be loud. 

he cannot stand his mouth being covered, nor does he take well to being told to keep quiet. He GETS that not many people appreciate his loudness. He KNOWS there is always time and place. But being loud is a defensive mechanism, and it being taken away against his will just messes with him a lot. 

speaking of, a large part of why he got the ‘i dont give a fuck about anyone else’ attitude is because no one would really care about him. It wasn’t just because he had a big head. He was acutely aware that people around him would praise him and rise him up, but never actually listen to him or cared what he wants. Why should he care about other people if no one gave a fuck about him? ( he knows better now )

he’s cautious about giving villains second chances. it’s not like he’s against giving villains a chance at redemption ( he knows he’d be a fucking hypocrite if he was ) but he also is realistic, and knows that some people are just shitheads and will refuse to change no matter what. knows that some people will take advantage of people with bleeding hearts ( cOUGHS like dEKU’s COUGHS ) and so he’s just. very wary and distrusting. he’ll give you a chance, but he’s going to watch you during it. 

if the ranking system of heroes gets abolished, it won’t really affect Katsuki’s goals. from the start when he says ‘number one hero’ what he cares most about is being number one by HIS standards. ofc he was planning to get ranked number one too, but if such a system falls apart, he’d just make sure he becomes the Best till no one can argue against it either way 

katsuki has always used his quirk often. he hates rules regulating quirk use because it’s so stupid to him. how the hell was he going to become number one if he didn’t know how to use his own damn quirk? ofc he still tried to abide by the law well enough, in public refraining for the most part ( but his middle school very obviously was super lacking in discipline so he just didn’t bother hiding his usage of quirk there )

his quirk acts up when he has high emotion — but MOST of the time, that is less him losing control and more of a conscious decision on his part. resisting the urge to explode when his body is aching to is dangerous, so it’s better to let loose small, controlled, explosions when the time comes. He works hard to keep control of his quirk, he knows when it’s best to just let explosions loose and when he can hold it in

even without explosions he has a habit of his fingers twisting or fist clenching when he’s high strung. restricting his hands in any way, esp during these times, are an absolute no for him. he WILL react violently if you take away his only method of physically defending himself. 

the reason why he NEEDS to be able to defend himself at all times comes from his lack of trust. He doesn’t WANT to rely on other people, because they could mess up so it’s just better to do it himself. so if people try and stop him from doing it himself.... just nope. 

he’s so so so SO bad at accepting compliments. he’s used to empty meaningless compliments, praise for things he didn’t even earn, so getting actual compliments that are WORTH something. it’s. a lot. he doesn’t know how to properly handle it yet so his first reaction is to reject it somehow ( either by telling the person they are being an idiot, or finding fault in the compliment itself, or something along those lines ) 

he has a base respect for pro heroes in general, because he understands that they have experience he is obviously lacking being a student. but he won’t be blinded by their status. if they fuck up, they fuck up and no ‘hero’ status will keep him from recognizing that 

he doesn’t actually hate quirkless people. he never really has. he had a problem with DEKU, but not exactly quirkless people in general. he started calling Izuku as “Deku” before he knew that he would never get a quirk. He called him ‘deku’ because izuku would fail at bouncing a ball or skipping stones and such ( back then, almost ALL people were ‘useless’ to him, not just quirkless people aoweinaoweianwe ) 

he as sharp teeth. not enough to be called fangs or anything, but they are definitely sharper than average ( he’s a little gremlin so I must give him sharp teeth ) 

he’s still struggling to ask for help. he can easily admit that he needs backup when it comes to hero works — knows that teamwork is essential at times and saving and BEING saved in turn is how being a hero is. BUT for PERSONAL things? Outside of being a hero? As a person??? He doesn’t know HOW to ask for help with that. 

He’s ALWAYS been super independent. so people just. expect him to be fine on his own. HE himself expected to be fine on his own. But by the time he realized wait no, I’m not fine. People stopped trying to check up on him. ( until U.A., but then old habits die hard. but he’s learning ) 

he tends to shower at night more than in the mornings, because he often works out not too long before bed. he also just takes more than one shower a day if needed ofc he takes hygiene seriously

he HATES when he can’t get a full night’s sleep. And sadly ever since getting kidnapped it’s been happening more and more often. he’s unused to functioning without a full eight or nine hours, so he gets cranky all day and feels fucking awful. He used to hate naps, felt like a waste of his day, but they’ve become a bit of a necessity with how shit his sleeping pattern has become. ( plus jordyn’s shoto has shown him the wonders of napping aowienawe ) 

he doesn’t take long to get ready in the morning. even if he needs to dress differently for an occasion or anything, he doesn’t spend long trying to decide what to wear

his quirk isn’t affected by rain or water like people would expect, but it’s fucking COLD so he still hates getting wet

he’s really good at fighting even without his quirk. he absolutely has thought of situations where he couldn’t use his quirk to full capacity, and so he decided he needed to kick ass even without it

he’s really level-headed in battle!!! despite how he acts, he ALWAYS considers all options and acts on the best one. He just thinks really fast and acts the way he does so it SEEMS like he’s charging in without thinking ahead. That being said, he used to often underestimate his opponents so he’d sometimes make the wrong call. He’s getting MUCH better at not doing that lately tho

he doesn’t really celebrate his own birthday. he gets well wishes from his family, often they’d get a cake maybe, but he doesn’t really WANT or NEED presents, so he had his parents stop trying to gift him things years ago. His birthday is SUPER close to the beginning of the year, so it is often times overlooked by his peers too, but he doesn’t care

Katsuki is demisexual!! He can recognize when people are traditionally attractive, but he doesn’t really fucking care and isn’t attracted TO them. It’s only once they’ve become someone he actually CARES about could he then develop any feelings beyond platonic ones ( no love at first sight here )

he’d NEVER pick up smoking, and even when of age he’d very rarely drink. He wouldn’t want his health to deteriorate by stuff like that. And he wouldn’t want his ability to think be hindered by alcohol

he doesn’t like lying unless for good reason ( like hiding ofa ) but he doesn’t see lying by omission as the same. To him, that’s just him deciding it’s no one’s business and so there’s no need for him to admit to anything

people have tried to bully him as a kid. we’ve seen him chase off older kids in canon before. It wasn’t just a one time thing. It was pretty constant, actually. Other kids, usually those older than him, would hear about him and his attitude and try and ‘put him in his place’ It’s not like he was very popular as a kid, it’s just that Katsuki always WON any fights so no one could actually do anything to him

his nicknames, for the most part, aren’t actually meant to be insulting. Besides like Deku, and when he called Todoroki “holding back bastard”, the rest are just,,, descriptions in his mind aowienAWE ThEY ARE RUDE AF but he doesn’t actually seek out the rudest name he can think of to call people. It’s just whatever comes to mind first

he doesn’t actually mind when people call him out on his shit anymore. he’d in fact admit that they have guts to do so. If they try and call him out on BULLSHIT though, then he’d get angry bc they are just wasting his goddamn time. 

he KNOWS when his classmates are purposefully manipulating him to doing something by phrasing it as a challenge. It’s just he doesn’t give a shit, he’ll rise to the challenge anyways and prove them all WRONG. 

If he really doesn’t wanna do something, there’s absolutely nothing that could get him to do it 

his way of SHOWING that he cares is through actions and gifts. Doing things for people ( studying, cooking, etc ) that he cares about comes naturally to him

On the contrary, he struggles to process it when people try and show that they care the same way. He doesn’t like getting gifts, and he rather do the things he needs to himself??? The easiest way he can understand people showing that they care is through quality time. If you are willing to spend time with him, seek him out? He can get that means you WANT to. ( if this is proven wrong it’d shake his entire acceptance in that person. he’d struggle to believe that they care for him at all in any way after ) 

once you broke his trust, it’s impossible to gain it back. he DOESNT trust easily. he takes so many careful measures to prevent himself from trusting the wrong person. if he gave you his trust you better fucking treasure it, because it’s only given out once. That being said, there are different levels of trust that katsuki gives out — as seen on his relationship page. Level two trust is when it starts getting serious. If you have that, that’s when if broken it’s unfixable. Level one trust is a toss up if broken, very dependent on situation

soft smiles are hard to come by from katsuki! We’ve all seen his confident grins in the face of danger all the time — he smiles a lot during challenges and battle!! But soft ones? Full of fondness and love? They are pretty rare. And even when they DO happen, often it’s only when no one can see

His EYES are actually what turns soft first!! You have a better chance catching his eyes and eyebrows turn a bit less aggressive, but again they aren’t exactly common per say. He doesn’t like showing such expression unless he feels like attention is off him. ( he just. isn’t USED to expressing himself this way. so he doesn’t really like when people draw attention to when he does. because it makes him feel like he did something wrong, in a way )

it’s actually easy to make katsuki flustered and embarrassed. he’S not uSED to it so he’s weak let him live aowieNAWE his ears are the first to turn red!!! but if you really get him embarrassed he does go completely red sorry kats

he does all of his homework well in advance. he hates leaving ANYTHING to the last minute, really

he’s done modeling work as a kid. sometimes he still does, but very rarely. He doesn’t exactly hate doing it, but he just isn’t the least bit interested so he rather spend his time doing something else. When he does do it, you bet he takes it 100% seriously.

he won’t argue if someone calls him a shit person. he knows that he is, and he refuses to deny that. what DOES piss him off though is when people solely focus on how shit of a person he is to the extend of disregarding the perfect results he gives. He’s a shit person, but he’s still the BEST and fuck anyone who says otherwise.

he also knows that he is changing, because it’s a conscious effort on his part TO change. But that’s also the thing. He’s working hard to not be shitty ALL the time, but that doesn’t change the fact that at his core, he’s still not a NICE person. he’s acutely aware that the things he struggles so much with, comes so easy to other people. He wont let this STOP him , he’s never called it quits before just because something was difficult for him, but it still sucks. knowing just how much effort he’s putting into this when some people barely think about it at all

katsuki was well versed in medical knowledge even before U.A. Not because he was thinking about how heroes may need to give emergency care on the field, but just from his own injuries during self training. he needed to know how to treat them properly so it doesn’t cause him problems in the future 

katsuki runs hot, but he gets cold easily. Because he’s used to keeping himself running at high temperatures, his concept of cold is different than most other’s. Suddenly being in like sixty five degrees Fahrenheit feels COLD to him

intended use for furniture are only suggestions. That means yes, he WILL sit on top of desks and counters, stand on top of chairs, and put his feet on the bed while he lays on the floor if he so goddamn chooses. 

no matter how close with a person he is, he’ll eventually need time alone and his personal space left untouched. It takes a lot to get to the point where physical touch is something he’d allow, ( having both touch starvation and touch aversion in equal parts ) but even with people he is completely comfortable with, sometimes it still gets to be TOO mUCH and he needs to step back. he has bad days, too. where just a brush of contact would set him off and he can’t understand himself why it happens. all he knows is that he really hates those days.

it still stings, the knowledge that All Might never even considered him for a possible successor. he was RIGHT THERE when all might picked izuku, after all. and all might can say all he wants about how ‘he was already powerful, he wanted to give midoriya a fighting chance’ or whatever. he knows he was never a contender. it’s not that he WANTS ofa though. he is perfectly happy with his quirk. It’s not even that it’s deku who ended up getting it, he in retrospect is glad deku can fight him now. It’s just. in the end, he’s always always lacking something. it just fuels to his belief of never being good enough when it counts. because HE is NEVER anyone’s first choice to be the up and coming number one. He’s GOING to be. He’ll prove EVERYONE wrong. But, it sure would be nice. Someone else believing in him, too.

summary: it had been a tough three years after moving away from your childhood friends, but you finally get to return to musutafu when you pass yuuei’s entrance exam.

quirk: shockwave, able to send seismic waves from your fingertips much like an earthquake, can be detrimental to oneself.

 you were never really too sure why your parents had decided to move from your lovely home in musutafu, moving to kasukabe right before you’d have finished grade school. you suspected it was to be closer to your paternal grandmother though, she hadn’t been doing too well after your grandfather died. however, that didn’t damper your spirits on wishing to return in order to attend yuuei, the top hero academy in all of japan.

 your mind always went wondering whenever you thought of yuuei, how a boy you used to know had dreamed of going there, of achieving his own dream of becoming a hero.

 bakugou katsuki--he was a classmate of yours, one you always gave your cup of fruit to, and in return, he gave you his jello cup. you wondered what happened to him after you moved away, if he ever did stop bullying midoriya; you were never actually given the chance to say goodbye, you never found a way until you just up and disappeared from their lives.

 the day you were accepted into yuuei academy, you were ecstatic, as well as your parents; they knew your dreams of becoming a hero, and they knew your quirk would take you far. there was a small celebration with your middle school friends, and while you were sad to say goodbye, nothing could dampen your spirits.

 it was a nice day out, april bringing about the blooming cherry blossoms. your uniform was pressed and clean, you’d left your new apartment (that your parents so graciously paid for) twenty minutes earlier than you had to, and you were wondering if any of the other people you’d applied with would be in your class in the hero course, your mind drifting to bakugou for a moment before a green-haired boy had bumped into you.

 “sorry! i wasn’t watching where i was going!” he stammered, picking you up from the ground.

 you dusted off your clothes, smiling at him, “it’s okay, i technically wasn’t eith--midoriya-san?” your brows furrowed, looking at the boy in front of you. while he’d grown up quite a bit, you could still recognize those freckled cheeks and bright green eyes anywhere.

 he jumped back with a blush on his cheeks, “uh, d-do i know you? i mean, i can’t, you don’t look familiar, and i don’t think we took the exam together, but like, you’re so pretty, and i’d remember if--” he gulped, “s-sorry.”

 you just laughed, “you’re still the same, midoriya-san. i didn’t think i’d changed that much.”

 he blinked, cheeks still red. “i-i’m still not following. wh-who are you?”

 “it’s me, (name)!” you beamed. “i’ve returned to go to yuuei!”

 his eyes widened, “(n-name)-san? you look so different! wait, where have you been? we were all so worried about you, you just disappeared!”

 you gave him a sheepish grin, “yeah, sorry about that.”

 “what happened? kacchan was so upset,” he replied.

 “we moved to kasukabe to live with my grandmother,” you said. “i feel bad i never said goodbye, but i didn’t really know how to--wait, what time is it?”

 midoriya’s eyes went wide as he checked the time on his phone, “we better get to class before we’re late!”

 “come on!” you grabbed the freckled-boy’s hand, dragging him as you ran towards yuuei. it wasn’t too long of a run, and you two had luckily made it about ten minutes before class, which wasn’t half bad considering you took a wrong turn (or two).

 you sucked in a breath at the gates, midoriya looking a bit nervous.

 you spared a glance his way, “oh, i never asked. did you get into general studies or something?”

 he scratched his cheek, “ac-actually, i got into the h-hero course.”

 “what?! b-but... this is gonna be great! we’re classmates!” you grinned, “i can’t believe you got into the hero course! what happened? were you a late bloomer?”

 he laughed nervously, “something like that.”

 “cool! i can’t wait to see it,” you replied, walking down the halls. once again, your mind drifted. “hey, midoriya-san?”

 he hummed, looking over at you. “yeah, (name)-san?”

 “do... do you know if kacchan got in?” you asked, stopping in your tracks as you looked out the window.

 “we’ll find out sooner than later,” was his reply before you both turned a corner and stood in front of the towering door of class 1-a. “well, let’s see what--” he opened the door, immediately hearing the sound of an argument already.

 you looked past midoriya’s shoulder, looking into the room before you noticed two boys yelling at each other. one you had recognized from the written exam; tall, dark hair and dark eyes, a pair of glasses perched on his nose as he scolded the one in front of him. but when you noticed the blond, your eyes widened and your brain went fuzzy.

 he looked almost exactly as he did when you had last seen him; hair unruly and jutting out in tufts of blond, crimson eyes narrowed and uncaring as he yelled back at his classmate. but as he was still the same, he was also different. this kacchan was taller than the one you knew, shoulders more broad, lips curled into a permanent scowl.

 you snapped out of it, pushing past midoriya and sitting in the seat you were assigned to, near the back of the room in the corner. you almost wanted to say hello, but if midoriya couldn’t recognize you, you doubted bakugou would.

 however, you were surprised when you noticed his eyes on you as you sat down.

 just before you could say anything to the blond, the teacher had arrived, and both your attentions were directed to the front of the room. guess you’d have to wait for lunch.

 your body ached somewhat after aizawa’s random and stressful quirk assessment test, your hands shaking with slight tremors from the earthquakes you’d sent throughout your body. you wanted to leave a good impression, and you certainly didn’t want to be expelled on the first day.

 you sighed, about to pass by a hallway when you blazer was grabbed and you were dragged and the corner, a gasp of surprise falling from your lips.

 “oi, what’s your--kacchan?”

 the blond stood there with a scowl on his face, staring you down with narrowed eyes.

 “kacchan?” you asked.

 “who the fuck gave you the right to come back?” he growled, hostility lacing his tone.

 your eyes widened, “wh-what?”

 “you think you can come back here after fucking disappearing and shit?” he still hadn’t let go of your arm, the grip tightening. “you left without a fucking word, and yet, now, here you are, shitty girl.”

 “i-i’m sorry,” you mumbled, looking down at the ground. “i didn’t mean to disappear--”

 he scoffed, “but you did. you fucking left me in that class with fucking deku, of all people.”

 you hesitated, words catching in your throat. “i-i... i didn’t know how to tell you. how to say goodbye. i’m sorry, kacchan. i’m--”

 he surprised you then, grabbing your head with his free hand as he pulled it to his chest, your body following until you were pressed against him. he let go of your arm, wrapping it around your shoulders as he hugged you. “i was so fucking lost, shitty girl. i didn’t know what the fuck happened, or where you were, or if you fucking died. you were just... gone.”

 “i’m sorry, kacchan,” you wrapped your arms around his waist, burying yourself in his chest. “i just-i didn’t want to have to say goodbye, and then time was up too fast, and i didn’t know what to do, and my parents, we had to live with my grandmother, and i--”

 “you’re rambling, idiot,” he mumbled. “and quit fucking apologizing.”

 you pulled away from the hug, wiping away the tears that had started to spill over (you couldn’t even tell when you started crying). “sorry,” you whispered hoarsely.

 “oi, what did i just say?!”

 “i don’t know what else to say!”

 he scoffed, “whatever.”

 you rolled your eyes, “so, are we gonna stay back here, or can we get some lunch? i’m starving.”

Bakugo: because of his inferiority complex, feels like he needs to prove himself over and over or he’ll be just the victim again  Iida: his left arm is completely numb. He isn’t paralyzed and he can move it. He just can’t feel anything in his hand or arm. Makes holding hands with someone feel empty and useless  Sero: he is so scared of being worthless as a hero and a person. He doesn’t want to be left behind by his classmates so he overworks himself and comes to school with random bruises

Oh mmhmm, I definitely see the Bakugou one! Especially after what he said during his fight with Deku, it def shows :(

Aw, Iida probably still looks back at his actions back in the Stain arc and regrets the errors of his ways. Luckily, I’m sure he’ll find someone who helps him through it and reminds him that mistakes don’t define him :’)

That’s so sad- he must have thought his quirk was just life taunting him for being “disposable” hence the tape quirk :( but heck yeah, once he meets the students of UA he definitely begins to see that he wasn’t the problem in the past, but rather those that he was “friends” with!

Like maybe.. once he’s able to respond again, he flinches and has an anxiety attack when he sees Kirishima because the sight of him just sends a flood of the memory to play in his head OOF

No one bullies his friends. His overuse of his quirk is slowly killing him, he hasn’t told anyone that it’s destroying his brain. Bakugo reminds him of living in an abusive household but he doesn’t know how to say it so he laughs it off.(2/?(Okaymaybe4wearegettingthere)             

Kirishima and Sero are the first to find out about both the frying brain and the abusive household, and Sero asks Kaminari if he wants to go try something. Kaminari says sure and Sero reserves a training ground for them, and Sero swings around with Kaminari and he hopes it works for Kami the same way it does for him. Sero is smiling because he doesn’t know what else to do, but swinging through the air helps him feel better and free. It helps. But there’s always, always the anxiety (¾)  

the anxiety of ‘Maybe today is the day I fall’, but he doesn’t realize that Kaminari is helping him stay grounded. He won’t fall. Not when he gets to see Kaminari fuller of life than he’s ever been. They land on one of the buildings in ground Beta, and laugh like idiots as it starts to rain. Kaminari’s dying, Sero is a mess, and they just sit there for hours, past the end of their reservation, talking through their anxieties. Kaminari is scared to die. Sero is scared to lose him. Sero promises Kaminari he’ll be there, he’ll do everything he can to help keep him alive as long as possible, and he asks Kaminari how long he has from his last estimate. Kaminari laughs, starting to cry. Six years. Sero tells the Bakusquad, and they promise him that they’ll be there when the time comes. Not villains or Dadzawa could stop them, and finally it does. For only being a hero for three years, he’s made history for kids who have terminal illnesses (ranoutofspacedammit)      

 And the drawbacks of quirks come more into light. Kaminari may not be a great student or hero, but he brought hope to a lot of people, and everyone will miss him. They can’t hear thunder crack without thinking of him, can’t see the golden sunrise without thinking of his smile. Can’t even bear to look at the classic lit section in a bookstore. He saved people and raised awareness, but he wrecked their hearts as well. (Somehow this turned into a near-fic I’m so sorry Hope you’re doing well(Done))

(Part 2) the next morning Kaminari kind of wants to try ask or comfort him but feels rude and awkward so he also kind of struggles with the knowledge of knowing that everyone in his class is a little to a lot of broken.  So yeah, sorry if it’s a little confusing- in awkward when it comes to writing what I want to write…
