emma i need to confess something any theory about dnp fucking other people pisses me off

anon i'm gonna put about twenty disclaimers on this bc i'm not trying to start discourse but i must say i agree 😭😭 TO BE CLEAR at the end of the day we don't know the ins and outs of d&p's relationship, and we never will. as dan said in BIG ppl want to know who he's fucking when he's fucking them and how long he's fucking them but that is not our business to know!! so i acknowledge that my thoughts on this are my thoughts and they come from a place of personal bias and projection! so if u disagree that’s okay!! okay anyway:

yeah lmao i get that i honestly don't think that they are in an open relationship for a variety of reasons. like logistically speaking it'd be difficult (espc before they were out) and we at least know phil doesn't like one night stands, so it's not like they're perusing grindr every day looking for someone to hook up with. but also like all the swinging jokes are what make me be like yeah they aren't doing that bc if they were i don't think they'd joke about it sm bc i think it would hit too close to home 💀😭 also, i think people read too much into some of dan's comments during WAD. like i get it, yes he likes making horny jokes, but i dont think it's that deep. like even if he wasn't with phil/was in an open relationship, he wasnt being serious when he said cute mutuals slide into my DMs yk 😭 he's always made jokes about being thirsty it's nothing new. also he himself said that all his thirst posting were jokes*! and other reasons too like how jealous dan gets 💀💀

but i also think people have only one interpretation of what he says sometimes, for example him saying things like this: "This is my hot boy autumn right now and I am very much enjoying, for the first time in my life, being free and out and in the world, being able to actually talk about things, being honest, being able to go out and have fun." which, if you want to interpret that as dan saying he's getting dicked down every night of tour, that's your prerogative! but i do not think that "being free and out in the world" has to be about sex, like there are so many layers to that! i just take it to mean like being able to live authentically and exist as a gay man in public yk?

ive said this a couple times in tags on other posts, but i think that sometimes (not all the time!!) the reason why ppl come up with open relation theories is because it's already a given that d&p are together. like in 2015 you could theorize "are they gay are they in a relationship" because it wasn't explicitly stated by them. but now that they're explicitly gay, and anyone reading between the lines can see that they're together, you can't really "speculate" on phan. so, the next progression is to speculate on the exact nature of their relationship: is it open, are they in a qpr, etc. so anyway yeah that's my two cents 😭 if someone thinks they're in an open relationship that's fine pls don't come for me 😭😭

So we like. Have accidentially allowed our brain to mix our two current hyperfixations and.

I guess we present to you. Portalmori.

Essentially a Portal x Omori AU where Wheatley is Sunny, GLaDOS is Mari, and Chell is Basil. Bunch of other people there too but, that gives you the general idea of how this is working if you know how Omori goes.

Overview and character art below cut

Wheatley's omori doesn't have a new name yet he is still currently just. Omori. We aren't very creative with names but will very happily take suggestions. An image of him is above. In headspace he is 15 here, while Wheatley is actually 19 in Aperture.

Now for the friends!

Taking the place of Aubery is Space, he is the shortest and youngest of the group. 14 at the time of the accident, 18 in present day Aperture.

Next in the place of Hero is Fact, who doesn't match personality wise but honestly the only personality match was Adventure but we will get to him later. Fact: the fact Core is the third oldest of the group, after GLaDOS and Chell. He was 16 at the time of the accident, and is 20 in present day.

Last but not least in the place of Kel is Adventure, aka Rick. Rick is a personality match to Kel but with being a womanizer added in. He will not give up on his childhood friend despite the trauma. Rick is 15 in headspace, 19 in reality.

Now for the story leaders, I guess.

Chell takes the place of Basil. She is the accomplice and the one who framed GLaDOS's death as a suicide after an unfortunate accident. I am intentionally leaving the relationship between Chell and GLaDOS and Chell and Wheatley ambiguous solely because I want their relationships to be interpreted however anyone pleases. Chell was 16 when the accident occurred, and is now 20. She still lives in Aperture solely to take care of her aging adoptive grandmother, and she swears to leave as soon as she can.

In the place of Mari is GLaDOS, her siblings dynamic with Wheatley is vastly different from Mari and Sunny's, with the two frequently disagreeing. She is a perfectionist and the pride and joy of the siblings mother, Caroline. The two's father, Cave, prefers Wheatley, as he is more down to earth, and not afraid to get dirty. When she died she was 16, if she had lived she would have been 20, and the eldest of the group.

I'll post a new thing with everyone on one image once I get those drawn. Also I do 100% admit that the art is traced from in game screenshots. I cannot replicate that art style I simply traced it from the game. The additions to the art such as hair and clothing is entirely my work though as is coloring shading and background.

I'll add more tags if I get more confident but. Yeah.

Why I like Tumblr

Can I be honest? This is a total rant post about a lot of stuff, but mainly why I feel comfortable with posting things on tumblr but not other places. I was just scrolling Instagram cuz I like to see my friends and sometimes there's funny hahas. I read a post (probably stolen from twitter) about how the richest person on their block put a note in everyone's mailbox asking for them to try and be quiet for a wedding ceremony they are having in their back yard at 2 pm right? That's all it said. At 2 pm on the dot, their neighbor starts lawn mowing and OP thought it was like the best thing ever. I just don't get it? That's not the main point tho. Main point = the comment section. I hate insta specifically because of the comment sections. It's literally just rancid. 50/50 on whether they sided with lawnmower person which is fine right? But some of the takes like make me physically uncomfortable. The thought that some people genuinely don't care about others makes me feel so weird. Like it's not hard to just be quiet for a little? I know they didn't give an end date to it and at first I was like omg they want them to be quiet from 2pm onwards until the next day and then I realized I'm pretty sure it clarified like wedding ceremony which only takes 20-30 minutes and the fact people are STILL mad??? Saying like 'ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do in my hose that I pay for' was one comment and like,,, they just asked politely?? I get we hate rich people, but honestly? They probably aren't that rich if their having a backyard wedding with some friends and family. And then someone started ranting about Gen Z even though no ages were mentioned in the post and then it turns out HE'S A GEN Z! And he called every other Gen Z (that wasn't himself of course cuz how could he ever relate to us plebs) so many horrible names?? And there's so many horrible comments on Insta that are so much worse than these and it's really horrible when all I want to do is see comments about the post, but there's always so many hateful people in the comments. I'll view a post by like an OF girl I'm friends with who is so sweet and everyone is just calling her fat??? or the n word?? or being sexist (which is expected but I wish it wasn't).

Anyways, I feel like I don't see that as much on Tumblr cuz you can perfectly curate your feed and no one really interacts with things they don't like on here. Like if I don't like something on here I just put it in my filtered out tags or say not interested on the post (or even block the person if I think it's a real bad take) but I never interact with the poster themselves like I'm never going to talk to them unless like they're harassing someone, but even then I'll probably just report. I just don't get why you would interact with things that make you feel bad or upset that don't have to do with human or animal rights nor helping the environment. Like if I say my favorite color is pink and you go mines blue! that's a meaningful moment of connection. If I go my favorite colors pink and you go kys pink sucks blue all the way, I'm going to actually implode and like dm your family on facebook or something with the message (if it's bad enough). Like genuinely I just want to be around posters who either agree with me or are mature enough to disagree and not attack me for my different opinion and I feel like tumblr allows me to do that in a safe way and also anonymously which I love cuz I hate people knowing who I am unless I'm specifically texting them. Also there's so many niches on here and i've discovered so many things that I enjoy everyday now on here and i feel like, for the most part, people are really passionate on here about some really amazing things and I love reading when someone's going off about a niche detail of a show we both love and then I can be like 'wow, you've opened my mind to new things' and that's just the best feeling

I love Wrathion's dragon form. He is short, you never see him sit on his hind legs when on ground, his teeth are a bit fucked up. He may look cool an imposing by himself, but next to most other dragons he seems unrefined and skittish. He has jewelry.

For how often 1984 is referenced in political discussions all the interesting stuff gets left out each and every time, it's so disappointing.

All I ever hear talked about are concepts of thought-crimes, thought-police, double-think and double-speak. Which are, don't get me wrong, very interesting and very relevant in this day and age. They also are like 50% of the book at best.

There is also commentary on proletariat and class awareness, war, artificial scarcity, constant surveillance, loneliness, fear.

The biggest theme in the book is how the government has to keep its citizens lives miserable so it can control them. How even two people properly coming together is a threat that must be eliminated. And the book describes in extreme detail how the Party achieves this.

And that's just the world building! The actual plot of the story is almost entirely about sexual freedom. Extremely overtly so too. The book takes its sweet sweet time to describe how and why imposing a certain rigid family structure is essential to government oppression. Spoiler! The biggest act of rebellion our protagonist ever actually gets to commit is having sex with a person he's not supposed to be having sex with, in a way he is not supposed to have sex, according to the government and society it enslaved.

Winston reads as closeted queer on one two, despite his hetro relationship! The Party is the scariest eldritch horror entity I ever read about! Yet all I ever hear talk about is how "boo hoo, they kill you if you think the wrong thought, scawy wawy". Such a shame.

From what I have seen pro queer arguments most often rely on moral, humanitarian arguments. "This kind of treatment is unfair", "We deserve to be treated like humans", these are all appeals to empathy.

But people who disagree don't have empathy. Not towards groups they aren't a part of. So different talking points could be more effective.

Oddly enough, I never see anti-government arguments being made.

Like, "aren't you made uncomfortable by the gvt spying on your bedroom in order to make sure you aren't breaking sodomy laws?" "Enforcing those laws would take resources that can be better used elsewhere". Make it about the harm homophobia is going to do to them. Make your cause relatable and universal.

You are never going to move over the fully committed "lgbt is a sin deserving of death penalty" fanatics. But plenty of bigots hide from themselves behind flimsy justifications like "the gays make no children, which is bad for the economy".

Sometimes a simple "Same sex household is at least better then an orphanage and it alleviates some pressure form the system. Our stupid and corrupt government is acting irrationally by preventing queers from adopting." is enough to turn a homophobe indifferent, and that is a net gain.

Speaking from experience. It's exactly thoughts like "Gays sure are disgusting, but the government shouldn't be prosecuting people who aren't causing harm to others. And it's not like the gvt has a good track record of making good decisions anyway" that kept me anti-homophobia enough where learning that violent hate crimes are a thing was enough to turn me vaguely pro-pride. At which point talking to real queers turned me fully into an ally/possibly a bi guy. It's a pipeline. A good one. But it needs a start.

My #1 post of 2022

Btw, I am obsessed with The Sandman's portrayal of divinity more then anything else.

This is probably why the Hell episode was my favorite. The transformation battle? Yeah, o k San-Wu-Kong!

But the best part was the "what power have dreams in Hell?" "what power would hell have if those in it couldn't dream of heaven?" exchange.

Because of the way the power dynamic shifted in it. It was a brief philosophical exchange, where Devil starts on top, assured they can keep Dream in Hell, but ends up defeated after his retort. The acting really sells this dynamic there.

It feels the same way their "fight" did, minus the visual representation of their "blows". Because it was! They are gods! Manifestations of their respective abstract concepts! For them philosophy, a clash of ideas, should be no different from physical throwing of hands! Like Greeks!

I hope, I'm making sense here. Essentially, what I'm saying is that for these guys, talking or just simply existing in a place seems as much of an extention of their divinity as their fancy magics, and can carry just as much, if not more meaning and power.

Speaking of - the magic. It is amazing. Vague and without many internal rules, it still makes sense for certain things and ppl to produce effects they do.

Most blatantly - it is not described what exactly Dream's tools do. Even the functionality of the Ruby, which gets the most exposition (read - any), is "makes dreams come true" with no hows and conditions attached. But still, when they are put to use I go "yeah, ok, I see how that would do that" and don't feel cheated.

I don't have analytical eloquence to understand why it works, but it does, and it makes gods in The Sandman feel exactly the same way gods in mythology do, minus the age of the text. Which is fantastic.

@justbeingedgy @weird-colombian-gurl You asked me to elaborate on the "Ches already has a kid" theory in the notes of that one mf analysis post (which I really liked, go check it out!!), so that's why I'm making this one, cuz notes are a bit too restricting for what I want to talk about!

Though next time think twice before asking me to talk about something I'm interested in, because you never know when you're gonna wake up lovecraftian horrors!! :DDD you'll see what i mean when you press read more :))

So, I'll say it right now - this post is largely inspired by the second story highlight of this Instagram user (sorry, I don't know their name, only that their Instagram handle is dee_girl_metalfamilyfan), it's in Russian though, so keep that in mind

Alright, so I'll break this theory into two parts: the first one will be all about Ches, and the second will be about his potential child (spoiler: you might've seen her!)

Without any further ado, let's get to the Ches part:

1. The creators said that they're gonna explore Ches' character in the second season. Obviously, it doesn't mean anything on it's own, but just wait.

Dima: Let's talk about the second season a little. Of course, the seconds season will show development of the old characters, as well as new ones. That's in short. As you see, Ches looks a bit different here.

Alina: Yeah, we'll show a bit more about Ches at the ages of 18 to 20. His past. We'll reveal a bit more about his complex character, as much as it's possible.

(The source of the translation) Also I think they also said at one point that adult Ches will get some character development too? But that's probably a given, considering that we wouldn't see his youth if it wouldn't have affected him in the present, flashbacks without any relevance to the overall story don't sound so good

2. Not sure about this one (we don't know how much in character it was) but I can't not mention it.

Alina: Actually there was this one fanfic that I really liked. I don’t remember what it was called, but it was about Ches having a daughter, which is a cool topic. It was relatively in character and truly interesting. It’s great when people focus not just on sexual relationships of the characters, but also try to look at their development. That was a really interesting one. That’s it.

3. This one's a pretty big one, in my opinion. So, this is what they said on ArtWave '19:

Dima: Ches also has flaws.

Alina: [to Dima] Don’t spoil stuff.

Dima: His flaw is that he's very... irresponsible, let’s say.

So, maybe, just maybe, Ches does have a child but he, you know... left them? As the Instagram highlight from the beginning say: "he might be irresponsible enough to leave his child, and he's probably irresponsible enough not to use any contraception" (rephrased, not the exact quote)

4. Alright, so, the only mention of this one I can think of right now is the aforementioned Instagram highlight. The Metalfamilyfan says:

I contacted Korg/Корж, (admin of @ metal_yama [and I believe one of the organizers of the Metal Family Meetup in Moscow]) and she asked Alina on one of the meetups: "if Ches were to be a father, what kind of father would he be?"

And she said: "The kind of that would say "kid, look at that birdie over there!" an then he would run away"

Someone's words are not the perfect source, but they did tag Metal Yama and from what I know they didn't disagree with what the author of the page said. if anyone has anything to say about this (disprove or definitely prove what I said) feel free to do so in a reblog, notes, DMs, send me an anonymous ask, or in any other way you feel comfortable with

5. Ches has literally been through the same thing, and we know how important the theme of the cycle of abuse is in Metal Family (or, in this case, the cycle of neglect? Abandonment? Idk)

YES, because you would've insisted on aborting him!

AND NOW I'M INSISTING ON PUTTING HIM UP FOR ADOPTION! OR I'LL LEAVE RIGHT NOW!

6. Here we can see Ches with a blonde girl. Nothing too special, probably just a one time hook up. He doesn't seem to be interested in her, and she seems to be annoyed with him.

But wait...

What is this?

Like, it doesn't even matter if there's actually a punk/rock/whatever band named MOM or not, I just think it's pretty weird to put it in this particular drawing of Ches and this random woman who is implied to have slept with him. It's not integral to Ches' character as, for example, Korol i Shut is. It's just... there. For some reason.

Alright, now, finally let's get to the second part of the theory: who is, exactly, his child?

The short answer is, according to this theory, her:

First, let me list every single instance of her appearing in canon (and by canon I mean everything made by the creators. Even with this definition of canon it's not much, I promise): The screenshot you can see above on the left (it's a screenshot from the second season and it appeared here), an instagram story posted by Alina (above, right), and two drawing with a lot of characters where you can spot the girl which I'm gonna call her PinkHair or PH for short, I'll mention them later I feel like I should mention this, comparing the sources of the images and the dates when they were posted, it's safe to assume that the screenshot in the classroom has the latest and final version of her design. The red hair most likely doesn't mean anything

1. Alright. So. we've seen Dee and PinkHair in a classroom together, so they're most likely related in some way, or at least they know each other. Their exact relationship doesn't matter here, because all that matters here is that they're related story-wise

Let's look at the first image. This is the banner of the main Metal Family channel. Ches is near Heavy (they get along quite well and I'm sure Heavy aspires to be like Ches in many ways), Dee (we can see his classmates/friends near him, they're all about his age), and we can see people related to Glam on the left side of the image (including Ches!), and Vicky's - on the right side (notice how the hell sign is also there)

Now, I'm not absolutely sure about this one, but it's still kind of weird - look at the image on the right (it's from ArtWave 2021 btw) - wouldn't it make more sense to put PinkHair near Dee? Also, Curiously enough, not only is she not close to Dee on this image, but she's also standing next to Ches.

Though this whole thing could be explained by art theory (too many small things in one corner of your drawing isn't great composition wise lol sorry PH) but I still can't quite skip this point

2. Remember the "MOM" lady? Fun fact, she has the exact same pearl earring that PinkHair has on the screenshot.

3. I'll put all similarities with her supposed parents in this point: Mother: * She's also pretty uh.. glam? for the lack of a better word? Or feminine in a traditional sense, yeah I think that's a better way to put it. Like colors they prefer to wear for example, and jewelry. Characters like that aren't common in Metal Family * She's gotta be a blonde. I can't imagine her being anything but blonde. If she manages to maintain that hair color as a brunette I'm just straight up assuming her character arc is gonna be killing God because these kind of people are capable of anything. I fear them with every fiber of my being. * I can't say for sure because of the shading, but it seems like they both have gray eyes, and she also has darker skin compared to most MF characters. Though, it's likely that Mom just applied a lot of fake tan Ches: * We know that Ches for sure has darker skin * AND grey eyes * There's also some possible personality similarities but I'm not sure if you can compare a child to a parent they've never really known in this way

That's about it, I suppose, I hope there isn't that many grammar mistakes and logically unfinished parts and whatnot in this post I forgot to edit lol x) I'm not sure how to end this post other than to remind you guys that almost all the points in this posts are inspired by the "тупая теория" highlight on the dee_girl_metalfamilyfan's Instagram page, so go check them out and subscribe, they post Dee x The Quest Girl fanart and and always credit the artists.
