ysee i DID start out at vaporwave years ago, like, in 2018, but then i dropped into the black neon mix of outrun stuff ridiculously fast, and, obviously, ive been staying here as you can see. but now that i can make patterns i think its about time i try to touch again the pastel mixes of that genre again- plus its trivial like. theres the rgba split node for example. if i split the channel and just nudge each aside then merge again i can have fake 3d rainbow effects, which was one thing i commonly used for my vaporwave art back when i was strictly drawing and didnt know sustance yet, and then i can nudge That with the hsl node if i want diff colours than a RGB glitch look and, say, drag it towards CMY instead which is more typical of the pastels of vaporwave. also imho the normal node generates a pretty vaporwavey colour scheme, and. as you know. i am not above misusing the fuck out of this program *glances at the poor, poor hald clut and 3d cube gbuffer nodes*. i think i also can use dir warps to simulate glitches, with greyscale stripes of random widths at the same angle as the dir warp. i also have yet to test the text node. so like. thanks ! im getting a fuckton of ideas per second so thisll be :eyes:, i wanna make palm trees stuff for example, overlapping w gradients. i also had attempts at circuit generators previously, i need to fix these and keep looking for solutions for these to. yknow. really look like circuits.

an idea for these is to stop trying to have em be going in multiple ways and instead pick One, like, for example, im thinking horizontal, so then i can use horizontal offset and shift around each row and Boom cool circuits and all. (im lowkey using this post as notes for myself dont worry if you have no idea what the fuck im talking about). i have many others really but. ngl im also partly basing this on this One texture i made in CSP that looked cool

it is *egregously inaccurate* when it comes to how circuits work, but... rule of cool ??? still. that said yeah in the Real one id like things to be a bit more realistic/believable to anyone who ever saw a real circuit.

i am indeed an active student in uni 😓 and i definitely do have projects and assignments sjdjd ahh honestly i don’t always have time to write, but i try my hardest to make time for it when i can (whether it be a 15-20 min sprint before bed or before breakfast or frantically typing out stuff when i take the train instead of driving to campus — those little bits add up!!), and when i do set aside that time to write, i always do my best to make the most of that time. cutting out distractions, following my outline, and just focusing on getting words down on the document.

really it’s also just… discipline sjdjf i’m an extremely goal-oriented person and when i make a goal, i do everything possible to reach it (for better or worse 😓) i’m pretty dependent on to-do lists and scheduling stuff too so i always have some sort of timeline and schedule established for a fic (it doesn’t always go according to plan ofc, but that mental timeline/schedule is able to adjust and alter depending on changes like that).

like, ngl, sometimes i put too much pressure on myself to finish fics and it ends up affecting my mental health (and sometimes even physical… how many times have i stayed up way too late to get another thousand words down?? too many sjdkd) and that’s definitely not a good thing and i’m not recommending that at all!! i need to work on it!! i’ve sort of developed this sort of mindset that i constantly need to be working on something, and putting out consistent content, and that’s definitely unhealthy but unfortunately it goes a lot deeper than just fics for me sjdjd not to get too tmi but this is the sort of mindset and pattern i sort of grew up with, partly a product of how i was raised and the environment i’ve been surrounded with in school :/

i am getting away from the main point!!! basically if you are looking for advice (let me know if you are and i will try to write something a bit more coherent lol sorry 😭) i’d just say again that it’s about finding time where you can to write and making the most of it. i find great use in things like writing sprints, detailed outlines, or incentives (sour patch kids >>). using applications like blocksite make it easier not to get distracted (i think we could all write more if we cut out all the social media time sjdjd that’s not to say we should do that though! sometimes the mindless scrolling is just Necessary).

but above all, don’t ever pressure yourself to just spit out thousands of words!! writing is HARD, especially when you’re already mentally drained!! for me, writing is almost second nature. i’ve been writing my own stories consistently since i was 12 years old and it honestly feels deeper than just a hobby to me. if i could choose one thing to do for the rest of my life, it’d be writing (if you think i’m crazy for not saying sleeping… as someone who dreams a lot and whose dreams are always related to stories — either from already existing universes or made-up ones — it sounds like actual hell to have all these ideas for the rest of time and never be able to write them down 😣) when i go a week without writing, i feel off. it’s literally my favorite thing to do in the world. (i am getting sooo off topic i’m so sorry sjsjd) but even with this endless love for writing and knowing that it can bring you so much joy… sometimes it just doesn’t. sometimes writing is just purely frustrating and exhausting and miserable. and you should never ever force yourself to keep writing when it feels like that!! because writing IS supposed to be fun and you should only do it when it is. (i also need to listen to this advice </3)

Ash, your OC is super cute and super creepy, and I love how she internally freaks out around her God-Emperor. And goofbcll (can’t recall your mun name, sorry!) I love how you write Hunk’s internal struggle. He is corrupted, but pieces of him remain deep down.

I still have one thread in my drafts (because Zarkon is an uncooperative prick.) Lance doesn’t even know it but he is hurting Zarkon so much and it’s beautiful. I love the way you write Lance - I can hear his voice in the dialogue.

yeah but it’s not even that like pidge literally calls him emo lmao, it’s just that idk sometimes people make keith to be such a jerk especially towards lance. like i’ve seen fanarts where idk he punches him or insults him badly and that’s not.... that’s not what they do?? also in fanfictions too like there’s this kinda tendency of making keith really grumpy and rude towards him or in general towards everybody and i’m tired of this because he’s not like that???? (there is a reverse tendency too tho ngl, where lance treats him like shit and he’s always the victim and that bothers me too)

also just in general i just don’t understand why it feels like having keith as a favourite character is a bad thing. because sometimes i almost feel like that’s a problem. and it shouldn’t be. idk why but despite him not being my #1 i still feel a lot connected to him. and the way he interacts and stuff reminds me in part of myself. and it’s like.... idk it’s somewhat terapheutic for me. and seeing idk keith being put down just bc he’s popular is just... dumb to me.

are there characters who deserve as much appreciation as keith? HELL YEAH

i just made that post bc i felt like saying that having keith as a fave is completely fine bc maybe i’m just paranoid but i got the impression it’s become almost a bad thing.

personally, i’ve already distanced myself a lot from shiro because of how the fandom treats him, and i have to like think through 4378754 hours before reblogging something involving him. and it’s sad bc the fandom behaviour and the mischaracterization has entered in my head (mainly caused by involving shiro in a few unhealthy ships y’all know about) and partly ruined the character for me. and i don’t want this to happen with keith. there are ways and ways to represent a character and the bad ones always get to you more than good ones unfortunately.

hahahaha i get where youre coming from. and im glad that im not the only one that feels that way :'))) dont get me wrong: i still love the boys, but i guess my way of loving them has changed over time too. maybe its bc of age too hhh. i was such a hardcore stan back then its amazing how i had that energy haha. now im just on energy-saving mode 24/7. i guess partly bc there isnt much of the need to worry for them anymore? ive been a fan since debut so its like watching your children grow up and feeling that sense of relief that theyre doing well now (gawd i sound so old lmao and i hope it makes sense). tbh i havent been keeping up much w them since mots 7 (partly bc i didnt get to unbox it myself, its still back in msia w my friend T_T). they still put a smile to my face when i see their news on my dash, and i still have them as my phone wallpaper hahaha. tl;dr - music taste/genre changes, ways of showing love changes, but the love nvr changes (sheeesh)
