Ok guys hear me out

Since I first watched Nimona I thought this moment was very full of emotions. Not only Nimonas.

All the time since Gloreth first saw Nimona change she knew it was different.

Nimona changed into a bird to get her the apple off the tree and Gloreths first instinct was looking back to the village if anyone saw them! She knew it was something noone else did and that it might be seen as strange.

Yet Gloreth didn't care! She just didn't want anyone to see it.

Every time we see Nimona change and play with Gloreth they were alone. And in the village Nimona always looked like a little girl.

Then the 'bear fight' happened and they landed in town! Of course people thought a bear attacked Gloreth but Nimona thought if she changes to little girl everything would be good but we know that it only made them fear *her*!

Gloreth said Nimona was her friend and when her Mum said "she is a monster" she looked skeptical.

But after seeing her friend got attacked by townsfolk, her parents, whom you usally think as good people who never would bad things happen to your loved ones basically told her Nimona deserved for being different Gloreth saw how the world truly worked.

Different was treated violently!

But even after the fire and the pain Nimona suffered she wouldn't leave her friend.

So Gloreth did! She told Nimona to go away (the word might be exasparated later on, with her suddenly being a full groen knight and all) and to make her run she pointed the sword at her.

But there is no hate or anger in her face! Only a grimm determination!

The statue looks full of hate here so symbolize how "Gloreth hated all monsters" but I think she was just a kid who didn't know what else to do in this moment.

And no adult wanted to listen to her.

Kids aren't judgmental from the start. They learn it from parents and society. And sometimes even when they realize it might be wrong they can feel powerless because noone wants to acknowledge their opinions.

okayyy so this one might be more obvious but before nimona saves everyone by destroying the canon, there is this tiny shot of people viewing this artwork thingy of gloreth killing the “monsters”. keep in mind that the “monsters” are on the right and gloreth is on the left. and in the next shot, nimona is flying towards the director (nimona being on the left and the director on the right inside the canon where the green light is). this shows the swap in roles between the two, nimona becoming the hero, and the director becoming the villain AND ITS SO SYMBOLIC AHHHH I LOVE THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL. just goes to show how complex these characters are, there is no completely good hero and no completely bad villain.

Nothing To Prove - Part 2 (pages 7-10)

Part 1

And that's the story, folks! (Or at least, this part…) This comic turned into a pretty personal story for me, growing up terrified of failing at life. It was a major turning point for me when I learned there isn't some grandiose purpose and that's fine; you can just live for the experience, expectations be damned.

RECONCILIATION AU: I have this idea for an alternate universe because I like thinking about the what ifs...

Ever since the village burned down, Gloreth fumbled about her decision to turn on her only friend. Was it the surge of emotions from the shrieks and scream of the townsfolk? Perhaps it is the right thing to do so, she believes, but something doesn't seem right. Nevertheless, Gloreth grew up under the influence of a forming institution that relentlessly scouts her to become the figurehead. The pressure from the community pushed her to take the 'moral ground' and accept the opportunity to start a legacy. All those years she has taught herself to resent Nimona, to adhere to the needs of her people but deep inside she hopes for a friend she once saw in a "monster".

Years later, the institution is established. The walls are built. Gloreth is the legend. All of these are challenged after the chance encounter with her old friend. Nimona took the form of a young adult in hopes that they can see eye to eye. Is she still evil as they saw her 18 years ago? Will Gloreth turn on her this time around?

Gloreth's armor is inspired by the comic!Gloreth, her statue, and Ambrosius' all together.
