Rockin’ #Hollywood night with... my 7 year old. Ok, so it’s down the street from the bars I once owned, and the songs are of the #musicaltheater variety. But this eve’s #ladiesnight with #NinaNoo—quick bite @lapoubellebistro followed by @schoolofrock @hollywoodpantagestheatre—was a good primer with the kid. Among the #firsts: concert strobes (wasn’t crazy about them), dry ice fog (preferred that) and le #rockanthem (by a cute + talented 10-year-old actor she was crushing on). On this Womens Equality Day, allow #NinaNoo+I to remind you: the Equal Rights Amendment (#ERA) proposes a guarantee of equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex. It is created to abolish legal distinctions between men and women in terms of property, employment, divorce and other matters. It was INTRODUCED INTO CONGRESS in 1923. #Nature is truly a beautiful mystery. These well-defined slices of rectangles in #sandstone resembling a #mosaic or city grid formed through a complex system of rock joints, #salt crystallization, water erosion and drying air. It’s truly magnificent to see. This tessellated pavement is called just that, and at #PiratesBay, no less adding to its fascintation, on the #TasmanPeninsula. It’s extensive and, apparently, the finest example of this #geological miracle in the world. What’s more, the soft sandy beach beyond is dotted with so many more seashells than I recall finding on #beaches worldwide in decades. It was unsettling and wonderful all at once, and another sign of the times. #NinaNoo certainly savored being there. Ever witnessed the expression on an 8 year old’s face at the first surge of a superstar’s voice as she flies overhead on wires? At the first sight of an army exquisitely executing modern dance moves? At the first explosion of stage pyrotechnics or a confetti canon or any number of #OTT scenes at a concert? Thanks to #NinaNoo’s #fairygodmother @KathyJeung, a longtime pal and makeupartist to @Pink, I got a seat to the best show on earth tonight: watching my kiddo experience her first-ever #concert. Auntie Kathy generously extended the #VIP treatment tonight to Nina, her #godfather @MichaelSchmidt (who has also created costumes for #Pink, and had just left a fitting for #KatyPerry before the show) and yours truly, from the incredible tickets to the intimate VIP post-meet up where the kid got to meet the #popstar, who couldn’t have been lovelier as she immediately got down on a knee to hug and talk to Nina. Sure, it's a school night, and we snuck into home after #midnight so as to not wake daddy (he did).
