The alarm buzzed loudly, and the girl tumbled out of bed, hitting the ground with a heavy thud. She muttered a soft “Shit,” under her breath, before untangling herself from the sheets. Strolling over to the closet, she pulled on her purple gi, strapping it around her waist. She looked to the mirror. She wasn’t tall, but she wasn’t short either. She was mostly pale, but a bridge of freckles ran across her nose. Her long black hair had one red streak, which brought out her eyes. The left was a deep brownish-green, the other a sharp icy blue. Her uncle always told her she was a perfect combination of her parents. Sighing, she grabbed the white leathered handle of her staff and headed out the door.

The field where they trained was mostly empty, with only a few trees and lots of room. The girl could spot her teammates a few feet before they saw her. There was a short, brown haired girl with freckles on her cheeks and light blue eyes. Her gi was a deep blue, with grey tints around the rims. Her name was Jen. There was a taller, more sullen boy, with spiky brown hair and reddish brown eyes. His gi was mostly orange, but other colors were splashed onto it, almost as if he spilled drinks all over himself. His name was David. Another girl, middle height, with blond hair with light blue and pink dye, was happily bouncing around and singing. Her gi was bright green, to match her deep green eyes. Her name was Zoey. And then there was the nindroid. Taller than anyone, her silver grey hair fell over her right eye, but the left was light blue. Purple lights aligned along her jawline, illuminating her stern face. Her gi was completely white. Her name was D.I.D.G.E.T. It stood for Data Informative Data Grouping Empathetic Tryiborg. A new kind of droid. They all spotted the girl and cried out happily in unision;”Korra!” They all rushed forward, embracing her tightly. Korra laughed, a light and airy giggle. “It’s good to see you guys!” The girl grinned at them all. “Are we ready to train yet?” Zoey chirped, bouncing excitedly. D.I.D.G.E.T shook her head, but mustered a smile.

They all paired off with one another, using basic combat moves to spar. Jen suddenly spun on her heel, and a thundercloud formed around her hand and a lightning bolt threw itself at David. “Oi!” Korra called. “We agreed on no powers.” They all groaned. “Oh come on, Korra,” Zoey protested. “It’s more fun that way.” The girl hesitated, but nodded. “Go easy though,” She warned. “I don’t have mine.” Didge flipped, her foot striking the ground hard and ice spread across the grass. David slipped, his head slamming hard against it. Growling, he climbed unsteadily to his feet and hurled a fireball at the ground, the ice melting quickly. He flicked a quick bolt of lighting from his finger tips. “One element only, David,” Jen reminded him. David threw his arms up in protest. “That defeats the purpose of being the Master of Amber, Jen.” “One. Element. Only.” Korra barked sternly. She turned back to her fight with Zoey, who caught her off guard with a kick to the head. Korra retaliated without thinking, with a punch and an explosive burst of purple energy. Zoey was trown back into a tree, groaning and slumping to the ground. Korra panicked, rushing over to her friend. “Zoey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-” “Korra.” The girl’s rushed apologies were cut off by the female nindroid. “This is the third time this has happened.” Didge placed a cold hand on Korra’s shoulder. “Until you learn to control this..” Korra shrugged off her hand and stormed away, tears brimming in her eyes.

Korra snuck into the house, praying her father wouldn’t see her- “Have a nice day skipping school, Korra?” Letting out a sigh, the girl turned to face her dad. Tall, black haired master of earth Cole Brookstone stood standing with his arms crossed, one thick eyebrow raised questioningly. “Dad, we were just training, is all,” She protested. Her father sighed, strolling over to the mantle. Picking up a photograph, he handed it to Korra. She recognized her dad immediately, wearing a black gi and looping his arm around a girl. Her hair was red and long, with a bridge of freckles like Korra. Her eyes were the same color as Korra’s right. “Who is she?” She asked, looking up at her dad. “Your mother. She died a little after you were born.” Korra’s eyes filled with tears. Her mother was the Master of Protection, and had lightning as well. “I hate this fucking family,” Korra bawled. Throwing the frame on the floor, it shattered at Cole’s feet. “You both are the reason I can’t have a normal life!” She ran up the stairs, staggering from the heavy flow of tears that were streaming down her face. Cole felt helpless as he kneeled down to pick up the shards of glass. “God dang it, May,” He muttered. “Why’d you have to leave us this way?”

What's the character's biggest insecurities and how would they react if someone pointed it out?

With Julie, her insecurity is feeling inadequate, especially compared to her Father.

Tammy, her biggest insecurity is feeling weak when it comes to her ninja skills and powers

Liam, he's insecure about his lack of knowledge, and don't bring up his school days

Haro, he's insecure about his lack of knowing how to socialize

Arian and Makoto, don't bring up their lost time

And Colton...never bring up his scar, or why he needs glasses
