The Crystals' 'Da Doo Ron Ron' peaked at No.3 on the US singles chart. Produced by Phil Spector, who used a multi-track recording system to build the song layer upon layer to achieve a result that become known as a "wall of sound". Backing musicians include Glen Campbell on guitar, Leon Russell on piano, Hal Blain on drums and Nino Tempo on sax.

1967 - Procol Harum

Procol Harum were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' the group's only UK No.1. In 2004 the song was named the most played record of the past 70 years. More than 900 recorded versions by other artists are known.

The Beatles Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band went to No.1 in the UK. Costing £25,000 ($42,500) to produce the album was recorded over 700 hours of studio time. It was also the first album to print the lyrics on the sleeve. The album spent 27 weeks at No.1 on the UK chart.

1969 - Brian Jones

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts visited Brian Jones at his home in Cotchford Farm to discuss his future in the group. The Stones later issued a press statement saying that Brian was leaving The Rolling Stones.

Deep Purple had their van and equipment impounded by East German police while on an European tour, after mistakenly driving too close to the border.

1974 - Bill Wyman

Bill Wyman became the first Rolling Stone to release a solo album with Monkey Grip, (it peaked at No.39 in the UK and No.99 in the US). The album featured guest appearances by, Dr John, Leon Russell and Lowell George.

1974 - David Bowie

David Bowie started a four-week run at the top of the UK charts with his third No.1 album 'Diamond Dogs'. The cover art features Bowie as a striking half-man, half-dog grotesque painted by Belgian artist Guy Peellaert. It was controversial as the full painting clearly showed the hybrid's genitalia. Very few copies of this original cover made their way into circulation at the time of the album's release.

1974 - Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton was at No.1 on the US country chart with 'I Will Always Love You'. Elvis Presley indicated that he wanted to cover the song. Parton was interested until Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, told her that it was standard procedure for the songwriter to sign over half of the publishing rights to any song Elvis recorded. Parton refused. 'I Will Always Love You' later became a worldwide No.1 hit for Whitney Houston in 1992 when featured in The Bodyguard.

1974 - Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney and Wings went to No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Band On The Run'. 'George Harrison unwittingly contributed the first line of one part of the song: "If we ever get out of here" when he said it during one of the many Beatles' business meetings.

1985 - Tears For Fears

Tears For Fears started a two-week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World', the group's first US No.1. In 1986, the song won Best Single at the Brit Awards. Band member and co-writer Roland Orzabal argued that the song deserved to win the Ivor Novello International Hit of the Year award, claiming that the winner, '19' by Paul Hardcastle - was not an actual song, but only a "dialogue collage."

Months of secrecy surrounding Paul McCartney's wedding plans were blown when John Leslie the owner of the 17th century Castle Leslie in Co Monaghan, let slip to reporters that Sir Paul had booked the Castle for the wedding.

Serge Gainsbourg. Quand Gainsbourg rencontre Brigitte Bardot, elle est mariée depuis un an avec Gunther Sachs mais leur mariage bat de l'aile. Gunther adore faire la fête, les soirées bien arrosées et les jolies filles.  Curieusement Bardot est plutôt casanière et ce mode de vie l'ennuie. Lorsqu'on lui propose d'apparaitre dans le TV show du nouvel an 68, elle accepte avec plaisir, d’autant plus c'est Gainsbourg qui doit en écrire les chansons ! Gainsbourg à 39 ans, il a composé pour des artistes aussi différentes que Régine France Gall où Anna Karina mais il n'a pas encore l'énorme succès qu'il connaîtra plus tard.  Ils se rencontrent un soir d'octobre 1967 et ne se quitteront plus. Il compose pour BB, dont il est raide dingue, le sublime "Je t'aime moi non plus" dont la version originale ne sortira jamais à la demande du mari offensé. La belle doit choisir entre l'amant et le mari. La rupture ravage Gainsbourg.  "Quand Bardot m'a quitté, c'est comme si quelqu'un m'avait arraché le coeur avec les dents." En mai 68 il rencontre Jane Birkin qui fait un bout d'essai pour le film Slogan. Il la regarde à peine, se moque de son accent, bref il est odieux. Ils vivront 12 ans ensemble. C'est Jane qui offre à Serge les fameuses Zizi de Repetto. Elle l'incite à porter les cheveux plus longs et elle lui apporte cette allure destroy so British. C'est elle aussi qui lui fait porter des bijoux féminins, bracelets et colliers de chez Cartier, et bien sûr sa montre Must qu'il ne quitte jamais. En 1973 Gainsbourg, rencontre Maurice Renoma qui habillent déjà Mick Jagger , Jacques Dutronc ou Nino Ferrer. Ils deviennent amis et Renoma va créer le look "Gainsbourg" qui va rester dans nos mémoires. Costume rayures tennis, chemises militaires, veste rayée, croisée, cintrée sur un jean et sur une chemise largement ouverte. Gainsbourg, qui aime voyager léger, sa seule brosse à dents en poche, peut garder la même tenue pendant deux semaines, "Je connais mes limites. Album of the day: Positive Buoyant, the third studio album by Swedish Rock band Glory, released in 1993.

Glory var ett svenskt hårdrocksband på 1980- och 1990-talet. Bandet bildades av Haparandafödde gitarristen Jan Granvik och trummisen Mats “Matt Driver” Förare och hette till en början Glory North. Bandets tredje album Positive Buoyant var till en början tänkt som Jan Granviks soloprojekt och innehöll mestadels instrumentala spår, även akustiska stycken, där Granvik fick tillfälle att visa sitt tekniska gitarrspel och sin klassiska skolning.

What’s this? I smell some strongly opinionated stuff from someone who has a family of children’s social workers.

I will forever write salt about Gabriel Agreste because that nasty man is an adult, with a wife and a child, who is ridiculously irresponsible. He is grown, and fully in control of his actions. Maybe grief has some part in what he’s doing, but grooming children (Adrien, Chloe and Lila), manipulating other adults (Nathalie, she is definitely being manipulated into parenting Adrien which I doubt is a part of her job) and he is a f*cking terrorist. It’s all well and good to call Lila our in assisting a terrorist, but you’ve got to properly call out Mr “I wear red pants because I’m into fashion, not because I’m a d*ck” as well. He shouldn’t be able to just hand his miraculous back until he faces repercussions.

There is a theme to Lila salt, and it is that Lila and the class are the only ones to face repercussions, and that isn’t fair. To be fully forgiven for your wrongs, you have to face the consequences. This means being put in prison, and alienated from your family in Gabriel’s case.

Lila should face repercussions, of corse, but they should be kept in correlation with her age. This means therapy, being put into a disciplinary school, perhaps being taken away from her mother for a while until her mother completes a parenting course. Even juvie could be good for her, but I doubt it would improve anything, instead making her more resentful towards other people. Colluding with a terrorist is horrific, but she is a child!! She’s got clear mental issues! She’s got symptoms of pseudologica fantastica, a condition where a person creates a stream of fantasy around them, often putting themselves in a good light only, which have only a crumb of truth. I think she needs a hecking psychologist!

Alya needs to learn not to be so trusting in the word of mouth, but she’s a kid! And naive! And kids fall in and out of friendships in a matter of seconds! Bullying isn’t cool but we haven’t seen her actively bully Marinette, she just seems to enjoy taking the Mick out of people. A trait that is often found in teenagers (I know, because I am a teenager). She doesn’t need to have her blog taken down or to be sued! If posting that a friend of yours saved jagged stones kitten was enough for you to get sued for slander, then I bet half of his fan base would need suing too. Because being a fan of someone makes you say stupid things.

Chloe, one of my favourite characters after Nino and the pigeons. She needs to be patented. Her dad is buisy and her Mum doesn’t care about her. That’s not a healthy way for a kid to grow up. I’m seriously asking if she’s not got some mental issues, like abandonment issues that make her lash out at any kindness that is shown to anyone, and her intricate knowledge of the system of corruption in Paris tells me that her innocence about the world was taken away pretty fast.

And Adrien! He very clearly has issues with abandonment too, and these are even more deeply rooted (cycle of abuse people, a kid shouldn’t act like this). I want to take this boy out of that home, because the only people that seem to actually care are on Gabriel’s payroll.

But our golden boy Gabriel seemingly gets away with murder (sometimes literally). Because... he’s sorry? He’s had a sudden realisation? Too little too soon bucko, have fun in maximum security.

TLDR; Gabriel is a grown ass man who deserves to be given the strongest hand of repercussions, Lila is a misguided and groomed child who needs therapy. Chloe needs an actual parent, Alya needs to watch one of those online safety videos they show you in year 7, and Adrien needs to be taught about consent and relationships. That’s the tea.

A Boring Day In Hell is an experimental love story about self-love. A woman is wondering what she was wearing on the day that she killed her lover. She goes through her memory during a gathering of women who are preparing themselves for a seated dinner. These women have one thing in common; they all killed their lovers. After realising what she wore on that day, she explains that killing her lover was the only way to feel unconditional love for herself again.

Ask Nino Abruscato what his relation to Paulie Finnigan is and he’d tell you “who gives a fuck?”. Ask Paulie and he’d ask you how much time you got. Ever since he was able to understand who the Abruscato family was, Paulie wanted to be a part of their world. He was, in a sense, related; very distant cousins on his mother’s side to Vito Sr.’s children. Though his aspirations could only go so far thanks to his dad being 100% Irish. Micks never got made, but that didn’t stop Paulie.  He was there at every birthday party, christening, event, you name it, Paulie was there even if it was in the very back. In school, Nino saw his use and adopted the boy as his own personal lackey and some would say friend. He takes orders without question and would jump in front of a bullet for Nino and any of the other Abruscato family members if the situation called for it.
