what if i was your biological father that envisioned your conception via magical experimentation and then completely neglected your existence all your life. but then you come to meet me when you think your adoptive father might possibly kill you and i ask if you want money or whatever so you leave crying and that kinda makes me feel bad so i go to the palace to meet you in secrecy but i dont know how to go about it subtly so i just pretend to be a kitty cat. would you forgive me then.

I’ve read other stories where the girl goes back after her father has a hand in her gruesome death. I’ve even read some where the guy either changes, or the perspective shows how it was all a missunderstanding, with the idea to redeem the father figure.
“No place for the Fake Princess” does two things that put it above the bar of these types of stories in this particular sense: The kid is actually a kid, not a “came-back-in-time” adult. She just got info of the future in what we as readers start to regard as a dubious (down-right suspicious, really) manner. She reacts like a freaked out child, and pushes forward out of sheer terror and trauma. As a reader, you get to experience shit like the father saying things like “I want you to live as if you didn’t exist” from the POV of an actual kid, which only adds to the punch.
Second, and this is the kicker: When the guy starts realizing he fucked up and tries to mend the relationship, she comes out and tells hims she does not want to be his daughter. She actually reminds him of the above words, and tells him she’s getting him his wish.
Do not mistake me, the story is still aiming at a father-figure redemption (twice over even), but is not flinching from the fact that here be trauma, and the girl is perfectly reasonable in trying to just separate herself from all this mess, even if her father has improved somewhat.

So what do you think about the manhwa No place for the fake princess? I thought that it has the same vibe as wmmap but only sadder and with worse outfits

you weren't kidding about the parallels. The beginning of the manhwa reads alot like an alternative universe of the Lovely Princess where Jennette regressed after she had been executed as the fake princess. Even the relationship between Philomel and her fiance reminded me of novel Ijekiel and Jennette's.

I've read up to chapter 28 and then it got too confusing because the translation is riddled with spelling and grammar mistakes. If you know a site that has a readable translation please let me know!
No Place for a Fake Princess shares lots of similarities with wmmap. The author must have been a fan of that series. What struck me positively is that the protagonist operated with two modes: she made an effort to change her father's and the public's opinion of her while she was still preparing everything for her planned escape in the future (the education, the funds, disguise, mapping out an escape route and finding her real father) because she didn't rely on the blind optimism that she could change the Emperor as a person. The same goes for her fiancé.. She already kinda gave up on him and was friendly enough to him as not to offend him but she made sure to put enough distance between them so that she would not be disappointed when he falls for the real daughter once she has returned. Another bonus point is that her fiancé is a sweet boy with blonde hair. Is he the male lead? And both of her parents are alive, how rare! She even has a bunch of magician half-siblings. I found it mildly entertaining so far and would have continued reading if it were not for the translation. I don't care for the romance but the story did have some aspects I found interesting like the reveal that her mother had been alive the whole time or that she had siblings that were basically raised in a lab by her father through it does look like the manhwa might fall into the typical cliche plot twist and reveal the "real" daughter/heroine as evil.

Let's go through the checklist, shall we?
Starts with the MC on the gallows? Check!
MC pays with her life for a crime outside her control? Check!
Tragedy caused by the appearance of "real" main character? Check!
A high-ranking, cold, apathetic father who the main character desperately tried to win over all her life? Check.
Bonus: backstory of the cold father includes losing the love of his life usually due to childbirth? Check!
Am I gonna read it anyways? Of course!
