I started watching shadow and bone with my two best friends without having any previous knowledge of grishaverse

We are currently in ep 4 and my main observation is that everyone else is much more interesting than Alina and Mal. Please tell me they develop more personality traits than "oh we are so in love with each other". Alina has potential but so far her story follows every beat of generic ya protagonist's character arc.

The crow crew or whatever it's their name are obviously my faves (INEEEEEEJ MA'AM. HI. 😍)

The Darkling is fine but I'm hyped for more. I expect I'll get it soon tho

I haven't see chapter 2 yet so idk how explicitly they stated this, but isn't pennywise supposed to represent everything sick and rotten with Derry? He feeds on the city's hate and bigotry that's why he's there on every racist and homophobic attack that's why he uses the bullies and bevy's dad HE IS DERRY AND DERRY IS HIM. I mean it's pretty telling that all the losers are outcasts and are the only ones who get what's going on? Didn't the town die with him how more obvious can it get?

the town didn’t automatically die with him, the house did, but I think they made it clearer in the first movie than this one? I mean it was implied but it wasn’t an angle that was very pushed upon admittedly, but still................. it was plenty obvious what they were aiming at imvho
