Congratulations are in order for @team.minera.skifer for going 2-0 on day one of the 2021 World Men’s Curling Championships. Woohoo #undefeated so far 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Keep it up guys! . . I watched the first game on the WCF’s FB page but watched draws 2 & 3 over on YouTube and man, there are some toxic trolls in the YouTube chat. I felt like I was over at Twitch watching a gaming stream. There’s always talks about curlers’ appearance, including one over a Japanese curler who has been dealing w/ health issues the past year. I called out the woman who made the comment & she apologized. One thing’s for sure, the #beanie is a hit! Someone in the YT chat said he wanted one. I told him I got mine years ago so I’m not sure if they’re still available. Glad I have my beanie though so I can cheer on the #Norwegians - even if it’s by proxy via #BabyYoda because it’s 70 degrees in San Diego and I can’t wear a beanie right now. Given all the Twitter activity between hats & socks lately, we might be on the verge of a Twitter account devoted to the Norwegian flag beanie 🤔 . . Otherwise Magnus has a tradition of kicking off Christmas Eve with an early gym session with his little brother. The evening is then celebrated with his parents, little brother and grandmother with the traditional Christmas pork ribs on the menu. Now, after a longer period of hard law studies, Magnus plans to unwind doing quite a bit go cross-country skiing during the holidays. ⛷ . . #MCM shoutout for the members of @team.minera.skifer aka #TeamUlsrud The #Norwegians had a great run at the Champery Masters in Switzerland, reaching the final. Good to see the new team start to get their groove. It can be a difficult adjustment, but they’re getting there. Wishing them good luck in their next event (European Championships maybe?). New #scarf who dis? I FINALLY have a #Norway #Norge scarf. One more thing in my preparations for next year when @grandslamcurling brings the Meridian Open to Las Vegas. I checked the GSOC website and teams were announced on 12/17 (my parents’ wedding anniversary). If the #grandslamofcurling sticks to a similar schedule & announces on a Tuesday, that takes us to 12/15/20, which means my #Norwegians have 287 days to qualify/be invited. . . They say that one thing that helps realize a dream is to start acting as though you have already achieved it... it’s like willing the universe to actually deliver what you’ve been visualizing, so I’m going to act like @team.minera.skifer aka #TeamUlsrud have already qualified and been invited to the #GSOC event in January because I really want to meet them and cheer them on in person. . . I’m excited that I’ll get to see @thomasulsrud to duke it out again against @niklasedin Even better that the Team Ulsrud vs @teamniklasedin game will be broadcast on tv in the US on Olympic Channel. Glad I don’t have to bend over backwards and go out of my way just to watch curling on tv. Canadians have no idea how hard it is to be a hardcore curling fangirl when you live outside of Canada.
