Bummed I’m not in #Calgary for the #GlencoeInvitational this #ValentinesDay weekend. I really wanted to finally meet the new #TeamUlsrud aka @team.minera.skifer I was stoked when I first heard about it & waited with bated breath for more info. Unfortunately, the only way an American fangirl like me could’ve gotten tix to this exclusive soldout funspiel was to be the highest bidder on the last 4 tickets left made available recently. Yea I didn’t want to risk spending $$$$ on a trip to Canada for #curling w/o tix to the event. . . Silver lining might be that I won’t be getting thrown out of the venue for extreme fangirling 😂 I commissioned this curling #digitalart #fanart from @doodledarren who happens to be the Assistant Director of the hip hop dance group I’m in and a talented #artist He’s drawn me w/ @teamniklasedin & @saramcmanus in the past. The inspiration is of course me fangirling at the event, complete w/ a sign, the total opposite of real life. The only accurate thing about me in this photo is that I do own 🇳🇴 fancy pants. I unfortunately don’t have a 🥌🇨🇦 toque & will never own the new Team Edin hoodie from @dynastycurling . . Perhaps it’s for the best because meeting @niklasedin & Team Edin in Vegas last year has taught me there’s some truth to the saying Never Meet Your Heroes/Idols, because you’ll be disappointed. I still hope there will come a day when I’ll meet Team Minera Skifer, and when that happens I hope they’ll be okay w/ who I am as a person—I’m nowhere near as dynamic or as interesting as my social media persona would lead you to believe. Apparently meeting me causes people to cut off communication 🤷‍♀️ . .
