Main Team ft Leonidas and Mercury

probably a lil late but i still wanted to post this since I’m not sure if I’ll have the heart to finish it

been playing since the p5 event (which is funny because i never played it but i always play games that have events w/ it) and summer Norwin has been my main since day 1 :,,)

also had a few team member swaps here and there but the most left 4 have been my main team for 2 years, honorable mentions of Mercury whenever i needed a water unit and Leonidas who I built last minute as in the 28th of this month just to beat Xenos (which i couldn’t)

i just started playing but...i can’t help think of the truth-seeker and the anguished author torn between lies about reality and happy endings he seeks, that they both do

favorite thing about them:

I love the portrayal of trauma that cygames went with for him, and how going through such things can make someone really that resentful and unable to see the bright side. as a traumatized person, i appreciated it, since the usual portrayal of traumatized characters is panic attacks and sobbing when it can be anger and resentment.

least favorite thing about them:

idk i guess to me he seemed like he was absolutely Cured of his trauma by the end of his stories when trauma recovery Does Not Work Like That so that irks me a bit

favorite line:

I always cry if I tap on him in the Halidom screen n he’s just walking and goes “My next tale will be a happy one for certain” and though I know that realistically that means his next story he writes will be happy but damn if that ain’t a metaphor for recovery

random headcanon:

he’s very afraid of fire for obvious reasons. it gets to the point where seeing a lit candle could send him into a spiraling breakdown.

#175: Let's Play a Game!

“Yo, first request, let’s do this! Lemme get some Norwin/f!reader who’s a writer just like him? One who specializes in romance novels? Thank you!”

Norwin was practically a lost cause when you had first met him. The both of you were writers, but each for a different genre. You wrote romance novels that were notorious for making those who read them get attached to the characters and go through the story as if the reader was there, while Norwin wrote children’s stories that almost always ended in some sort of tragedy.

The two of you hit it off quickly after Euden had introduced Norwin to you in an attempt to help the Sylvan learn how to write happy endings, since you were so good at writing them yourself.

You spent time getting to know Norwin, trying your hardest to see why he writes these sad or even dark endings that made children cry whenever they would gather around to listen.

The more you worked together, the more he became more comfortable around you. He’d relax more and start to open up to you.

Eventually, he told you about his past. About a time when he was able to actually write happy endings. He explained everything that had transpired in Anasonne.

You couldn’t help but feel your heart ache for the purple-haired male. From then on, you made it your goal to help him with his trauma. You swore that you wouldn’t write anything on your current project until you could help him.

Norwin appreciated the insistence that you should aid him, and he listened to you when you said that you weren’t going to change your mind.

As much as he didn’t want you to hold yourself back for his sake, he had to admit he was somewhat glad that he had your help.

More time passed, and Norwin, Euden, and yourself all worked together to slowly hopefully ease Norwin into writing happy endings.

You told him at one point that maybe kids books weren’t his ‘thing’ due to what had happened, but he didn’t really listen. He was insistent on writing something happy, which you understood and respected.

The more you two worked together, the closer the two of you became, and the more Norwin came closer and closer to writing a happy ending.

He had come incredibly close at one point, writing an ending that was somewhat up to interpretation but anyone could tell that the golden retriever in his story had been killed.

It was progress, though.

One day, you ended up sheltering some villagers from an imperial attack. You had been so busy trying to find something you had written that could help people that you didn’t even notice Norwin reading something to the children.

When you returned, there was a crowd of children sitting around Norwin, who was reading from a book in front of you.

You couldn’t help but feel dread as you recognized it. ‘The Princess in the Wall’. The ending had the witch blinding the prince so he could never save the princess, and she would later die of starvation. Very grim stuff.

He stumbled over his words as he reached the fated moment where everyone died. He went quiet, eye scanning over the audience and eventually landing on you.

Something seemed to click in his mind, for his face lit up, and he looked back out to the children. “Suddenly, there was a mighty explosion that tore a hole in the wall! And standing there amidst the dust and rubble, was...”

A child cried out, “The prince!” and he smiled. Funny… That was the first time you had seen him genuinely smile at someone that wasn’t you.

He spoke up again, and you couldn’t help but grin like a child as you listened. “That's right! The prince appeared and cut the bramble patch into little pieces, freeing the princess in the process! Then they lived happily ever after. And all was right in the world.”

As the children cheered, as did you. You carefully made your way through the crowd of little ones, giving Norwin a giant hug, an, “I’m so proud of you!” Escaping your lips.

The sylvan gladly returned your hug with a bright smile. “Thank you so much, (Y/N). I really couldn’t have done this without you or Euden’s help.”

And then he planted a kiss on your forehead, aglow with happiness and pride.

It didn’t take long for your next book to be published. It was a collaboration, actually. A cute little picture book about the love story between a cursed sylvan who couldn’t seem to see the joy in anything and a girl who was filled to the brim with love, determination, and faith. Of course, their story ended happily. Just like yours.
