HAPPY 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY DRAGALIA LOST!!! to mark this momentous occasion i decided to go back and recreate my old moveset for EUDEN AND MIDGARDSORMR FORGE A PACT WITH SMASH! this human and dragon duo have a unique playstyle that focuses on building up quick combos to help fill up a special meter as Euden who is a rather fast moving medium weight sword fighter. once the meter if full you can use the down special to transform into Midgardsormr for a limited amount of time to unleash devastating strength to overwhelm your foes! now for a quick rundown on their specials, starting with...

Euden's specials! which are as follows:

Neutral special, exalted fire: Euden shoots a flaming crescent from his sword that will move forward a set distance similar to clouds neutral special but if it makes contact with a foe it will continue on its path allowing you to hit multiple foes.

Side special, force strike: Euden will take a charging stance as a glowing arrow appears behind him and fills with a lighter color, when the b button is released once the arrow is fully glowing Euden will strike with a strong shield breaker attack, if b is let go before the attack is fully charged it will cancel the attack, it can also be aimed all 360 degrees.

Up special, blazing circlet: Euden will spin around with his blade outstretched and engulfed in flames spiraling him upward, if performed on the ground he will just spin in place instead of upward, think links spin attack but on fire and without the chargeable feature.

Down special when meter isn't full, Helper skills: Euden will call upon some of his closest allies to aid him in battle. each summon behaving almost like a mini assist trophy. the move has a 10 second cooldown to prevent spamming, also the summon order will not reset when K.O.ed. Euden can also freely move around once the ally is summoned on the field, allowing for some good combo potential with the ally. the order of summoning is as follows.

Elisanne, hallowed waters: Elly will leap upward and then strike downward with her spear while its coated in water mana, think a mix of yoshi and bowsers down specials mixed with corrins down air.

Ranzal, tornado bash: ranzal spins around his large axe trapping anyone who gets to close in a cyclone of hurt then at the end of the spinning he will swing his axe outward sending any foes caught flying, basically DK's up special but slower moving.

Luca, radiant bonds: Luca leaps upward and aims his bow at a slight downward angle and shoots an light mana charged mana arrow, the arrow will stun aany opponent it hits.

Cleo, elder cure: Cleo would float up into the air and hold her wand aloft and heals some of Eudens health.

the order then loops back to Elisanne repeating the cycle.

Down special when meter is full, Shapeshift: euden will ascend into the air and be enveloped in light which then disburses as he is transformed into Midgardsormr with whirlwind flows around him creating a weak hitbox to defend himself.

Final smash, exalted glory: Euden quickly dawns his gala armor and thrusts his sword into the ground, creating a radius of glowing energy around him dragging anyone he hits into a cutscene where the prince and his 4 allies join forces to unleash a powerful elemental barrage of attacks to send eudens foes flying. and now moving on to Midgardsormr’s specials.

Neutral special: Calamitious tempest. Midgardsormr would charge a ball of wind mana and launch it in an arc and when it lands or hits something it will explode into a blast of air, it’s chargeable which affects the strength and distance of the projectile.

Side special: Grand tempest. Midgardsormr claps his wings together to creat a small tornado that travels in a straight line a set distance then dissipates, anyone hit by the tornado will be launched straight up, making it a good tool for starting air combos, it also pushes mids back a bit cause of the powerful gale force of his wings clapping.

Up special: Tornado tail/Tornado spiral. On the ground Midgardsormr will perform his signature attack tornado tail, a powerful spin that sends near by foes flying. But in the air he instead summon a small tornado below him to push him upward, it’s similar to charizard’s up special.

Down special: Calamitous storm. Midgardsormr would unleash a powerful burst of wind mana around him devastating all those caught in its wake, but at a hefty cost, it drains his meter to empty forcing the player to revert back to Euden, the strength and size of the blast is dependent on how much energy is left in his dragon pulse meter. Like hero’s magic burst.

Final smash: Greatwyrms pact. Midgardsormr would let out a mighty roar that shakes the air around him, anyone to close to him would be dragged to a cutscene where the other 5 greatwyrms surround the players, the camera would then pan up to reveal Midgardsormr in his high dragon form charging a blast of wind mana, which he then unleashed on the foes and the other 5 greatwyrms also shoot off blasts their respected elemental mana. If the opponent is at over 100% damage it’s an automatic K.O. by learning how to take the unique playstyle's of both Euden and Midgardsormr in tandem you can overcome any obstacle in your path with ease. thank you for reading and heres to 5 years of remembering one of the greatest mobile games of all time and a forgotten gem of a nintendo franchise, heres hoping one day we will see the world of Dragalia Lost again. HAPPY 5TH ANNIVERSARY!!!

Suddenly got hit with a wave of nostalgia for dragalia, but more importantly also for ranzal and his big ol titties.

The Only Tierlist that Matters(tm)

'Best in Element' this, 'Best character that'...

Here's the only thing that you need to know about Dragalia and its lore: who's the best at Alberian Chess.

A fair portion of this is both evidenced and guesswork. Evidenced guesswork? I'll just walk through my analysis for anyone going ??.

In short, I think Leonidas is the best chess player shown. Leif outright states him to be a 'particularly cunning opponent' in comparison to Chelle and Phares, whom he both considers very skilled. Leonidas is the only one to have beaten Leif.

So if 1st and 2nd are locked, I'd say it's a more blurry picture between Phares and Chelle. Chelle I put lower just for the fact she explicitly finds Alberian chess a bit 'too restrictive' in rules and thus might not be quite as studious or caring of its games, and with Phares seemingly capable of getting Leonidas heated while appearing calm himself in "A Royal Tea Party", I think he might be better by at least a little bit. We know the current Chelle vs. Leif meta is a Leif win (though starting to tax/surprise him), but alas, we've no Phares-Chelle or Phares-Leif matchup to settle the big dog league for good.

A tier brings in Regina, who is only A just because I don't have any evidence to suggest how she might stack up against our formidable S-tiers. She's also native in a different variety of Alberian Chess, which further complicates how she could adapt against the southern rules most other players use here. In her own league, who knows? She could be S.

Discount Deku-looking-creature- er, Eugene, is shown to be a very skilled player, and yet his record is 0-2 vs. Leif, Leif not feeling incredibly threatened both times, and so A he goes.

Valyx here is mostly from a lack of evidence, as we never really see him play chess to my knowledge, but Leif at least will endorse him to be a skilled player. For Leif, no.2, that counts for something, and so into A he goes. We would need more sibling match-ups to see how he stacks up against his elders.

Ilia is similarly fuzzy in exact placement but we do know that Leonidas does not feel threatened by her, implying at least some tangible gulf in talent that I think bumps her down at least one tier. That being said, he also compliments her as skilled in reading his intent in chess, which, since Leo is no.1, having good reads on him is likely a very strong point to succeeding in Alberian chess. Besides, if it's 'Alberian' chess to begin with, she very well might have only recently learned the game, as Alberia as a state only started to exist 700 years after her time. That she's this good already is impressive!

Aurien provides some distinguishment between himself and Eugene by losing against him. He's still high up because Euden is very surprised he lost, and had made it in the chess tournament far. He seems to be pretty keen on the strategic understanding of the game, as well.

Falling all the way to D, we've Pinon, who understands some of the principles of strategy, etc, but still is inclined to making big mistakes for players like Regina to exploit. Even when she tries to bring back and challenge Regina with the southern rules she's learned from her travels there, Regina can still beat her comfortably.

Euden just wanted to be in 'E' tier because of his name No, it's mostly because he only just started learning at Gala Leif time in canon. And Euden... doesn't exactly seem to have a natural gift, as, per him when learning:

In short, he's not quite 'moving pieces at random' F tier for a complete novice, but we just have no evidence he's grown since. He's simply too busy fighting a war and having identity crises and stopping the Halidom from being blown up for the 3rd time today to have much time to practice, either. That being said, since Leif was the one to first start instructing him, he might very well have an edge when it comes to getting better over time!

Hello!

Saw your tags on my one post, and thought I'd try to add a bit more to your thoughts!

I think Euden kinda seems to view himself as what was called an Enlightened Absolutist (or -Despot, depending on who you ask), a phenomenon in history wherein absolute monarchs increasingly fell in with ideas of the Enlightenment and viewed it as their duty to better the lives of their citizens via the principles the Enlightenment espoused. They also started to believe their right to rule derived not from the divine right of kings ie 'God himself put me on the throne and it is a sin to challenge me' but the social contract, essentially 'you let me rule and hold all power, I make your lives better'.

Now, of course Euden is incredibly lax when it comes to power and his expression thereof for royalty, but from his perspective, he of course is still the monarch who has power over the land. He knows he's in a privileged position over them, with luxuries and rights most don't have, and he feels bad about that and tries to sacrifice things for them to make up for that imbalance (or himself, to stop anyone else from sacrificing themselves for him). This connects to the whole 'selfish' idea via he thinks no matter what he's spoiled and selfish inherently by being the prince/king and acting on his ideals. Thus, no matter how much good he ends up doing in service to these ideals, he's still viewing himself as bad. What good he does is his mere duty and nothing to be praised, what bad he does or 'indulges' in as prince is bad, so it just kinda tangles the mess even further!

...Needless to say, I, too, have entirely too many thoughts on Euden and the royal fam!

yes !! i dont think growing up in the shadows of his elder siblings - especially being born right after emile, the epitome of the 'selfish prince' - helped at all, either. he doesn't look at himself the same way he does his siblings, with complexity and nuance and layers of feelings and expectations. he expects them to do their duty, and to act a certain way, as they are supposed to in his eyes, but he does not treat them as he treats himself, either. in fact, i think if any of his siblings tried to pull the stuff that he does, he'd have a lecture in mind waiting for them ... which is why they don't think the way he does. they have their people to watch over and take care of, and they know that to give their lives up for them would be folly. a huge difference to how euden views his own life.

The final few maps of engage have 14 deployment slots but there are only 12 (non-dlc) emblem rings. Yes, Mauvier not getting a ring from most players is funny but i feel like 2 not getting rings is such an awkward number so i kinda feel like there should be more emblems.

My proposal: Sharena, Emblem of Heroes and Valjean, Emblem of Cipher

Veronica gets renamed to emblem of. Embla. or something idk

Anyway, why those 2? alfonse is another blue haired (leading to even more confusion on which lord is which) sword lord (Another emblem that gives sword proficiency :/) so it cannot be him and that leaves Sharena. Oh and Ranzal was already in echoes and I believe Nintendo wants to avoid gender imbalance in the emblems so that leaves Valjean. Hes got heavy armour and could probably be the "traditional" tank emblem.

I was also kinda thinking of having Tsubasa instead of Valjean but 1. blue hair 2. that would lead to a gender imbalance 3. She would probably steal Camilla's flight away from her
