january 2014 to january 2023 (from top left to bottom right) (exception is in 2019 because i apparently didnt make anything that time except for a old comic sdjhgs)
you can... consider this as a sort of repostober but each one was posted at the beginning of their own respective year! im not going to repost my works since my mood is kinda wanting to draw new things 😔 but. mans. the one thing i am honestly proud to this day its the fact i can tell my younger self in high school confidentially that 'we did it. we have our own art style!'

Things I think about daily : a series
That one scene in The rebooted Ducktales where Scrooge and the other rich duck have a staring contest at an item.
When I was a kid I was eating baby food or something, maybe applesauce, but I touched my mouth or hands to the door and got the food on it and it stayed there untill I moved out of that house.
That one time I put mouse in my hair when I was younger and I didn't know what it did at the time and when my parents asked if I had taken a shower I responded with yes. Long story short I got in trouble.
This one shitpost bad quality video me and my friend watched a long time ago and I cannot find it ever. It was like someone saying a really long name to someone and then "they broke up????" Or something and then they went to a dance party.
A long time ago whenever someone grabbed mud from a snake hole and smeared it on my cringey ahh monster high dress.
Whenever I used to grab the very outer part of random cabbages at a local store and eat them. (I thought I was so cool and so badass)
Me thinking I was cool by reading warrior cats, even though I only read the first book and halfway through the second book
Dork Diaries. That's all.
Having my name as "Daddy Deadpool" on the marvel amino a long time ago. Even though I didn't necessarily know what the term 'daddy' really meant in those terms.
Littlest pet shop story videos on YouTube. Specifically this one.

Now I'm curious how you got into due south originally, if you feel like explaining :)
Sure! It's nothing too exciting I guess, but my Dueser origins begin as a wee girl. I know my family must have vaguely watched it because I remember the image of All The Queen's Horses mountie chase pre-dates my series watch beginnings. I know my grandma later confessed as I had it on tv one summer that she watched it. Cause cute Benton Fraser lol.
But real seeing and watch began with a random catch of Free Willie one morning on the Showcase Network. Thank you kindly Showcase.
Yeah, I caught it one morning and stayed to watch because I think I vaguely recognized it, and just fell in love with it's charm and wit and Fraser and Ray. It was the first episode so great timing too. And they had it schedule set to air one episode in the morning, the same at night, five days a week. Perfect for catching up.
Promos were hilarious too. I should see if any are online.
Oh, and it was original edit, so it had extra scenes like the different Victoria's Secret ones.
So I caught up on the series quick. Also, what I think really cemented my season 1 and 2 love was they played that set for months at least before switching to the 3/4 season. That highlighted the difference in tone to my POV too I think, and it's why I kinda view them apart still.
But I really got to experience show first this way.
I think I found fandom when starting Livejournal same time the show hit resurgence there. And I happily caught the tail end of Yahoo Groups so got to back read fan stuff there. Missed most of Ray Wars. Yay. There was the 2000's snippets, but everyone was so fun at content creation and love, that was the best take-aways. It made for a great time. I participated in a watch-along! A big highlight of fannishness for me! That's when I saw The Pilot. Or my fav was squeeing about Pizza and Promises.
Just, some of the many wonderful fans like Nina_DS and movies_michelle and duenorthlaurie for episode discussion, and Sdwolfpup, Belmanoir, Aingeal8C as content creators, or Scotchsour, and Lozenger8 who made some banging icons....Truly, there were so many wonderful people, I couldn't even name them all. Due South provided so many wonderful glimpses of other fans to share with. LJ friends were so lovely.
I fell out in LJ world strangely cause I felt kinda outside the fandom wave as it crested I think, not shipping F/K or really loving those seasons as much. And just personally felt not into fannishness as whole after awhile. It's a me thing across everything, not just Due South. I took an internet break for a long time. I still watched the series on tv, with Showcase and TV Tropolis and DejaView lol, and by then DVD often. Along with new TV of course, although not much cause Tumblr me is not too different from old LJ me. Still kept an eye of forums, sometimes, or such, cause I love discussion as you can see by my screeds versus tech/creative skills, but not actively or with comment.
I return cause, I don't know, seeing people express love for the series again is hitting a happy place of nostaglia I think. I had a rough bout with real-life and comfort fannish stuff is reminding life was full of small good moments. The joy of the endearing nature of the show and the spirit of love for it in the fandom is proof of stuff enduring. Joy that it's still on rebranded Showcase here on the weekends lol, even if you never know which season.
And a new vidder made a wonderful F/V fanvid that, timing again as I hit Tumblr, I stumbled into, and just had me crying when I watched at the beauty and love I remembered in the pair. It spoke to my love of them so hard I think it jolted me into thinking hell yea that love deserves happy expression, I can do it too maybe. Sadly they took it down, but yeah, that was the spark, and that's me fannish story.

So... what SW Legends stuff would you recommend? I've already started reading Heir to the Empire, if that helps?
Ooooh!! Okay Heir to the Empire is the PERFECT starting place, that's where I started too! (I think. I also vaguely remembering reading these Darth Bane books when I was younger, but I digress)
(edit: also, I am not an expert on Legends, so if anyone who knows it better would like to offer any other recs (in a respectful manner that doesn't involve talking about how much you hate the sequels) feel free to add to this post!)
Others that I would recommend would definitely depend on what era you're looking for, but most of the stuff I know is post Return of the Jedi. If it's not, I'll make sure you know! (I'm gonna put part of this under a cut, it got kinda long)
The Hand of Thrawn duology. It's set like ten years after Heir to the Empire, and wraps up the events of those books super well! Plus it has more Talon Karrde, who is my favorite background character ever. The first book is Specter of the Past, by Timothy Zahn!
If you're a Mace Windu fan, Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover was really good! It's set near the end of the Clone Wars, and is about a mission he went on to find his missing apprentice. It was fun to read from Mace's point of view, and see how he's actually a lot more caring than a lot of fans depict him. Also, he headbutts a shocking amount of people. Mace is not immune to the chaos gene that comes with being Force sensitive
Technically, these are kids books and I might only like them because nostaglia, but the Last of the Jedi series by Jude Watson is fun! It's set directly after Order 66, and follows a former Jedi who grew up with Anakin, and the escapades and hijinks he gets up to
The Rogue Squadron books by Michael A. Stackpole are pretty good, especially if you like fighter pilot shenanigans. Rogue Squadron is Wedge Antilles's elite squad of pilots, and the main character is Corran Horn, who is a former Corellian Security member (basically a cop) and gets into all KINDS of trouble. I've only technically read a couple of those books, and admittedly, I don't like them as much as their follow up series. But if you do enjoy these books, you should check out I, Jedi, by Michael A. Stackpole, which is about Corran in later life
The follow up series is the Wraith Squadron books by Aaron Allston. It's also about a squadron Wedge put together, but it's made up of washouts and rejects, and they end up as a black ops division. It's simultaneously really sad and some of the funniest Star Wars I've ever read, and there's a running joke about an Ewok lieutenant
I'm gonna recommend the Republic Commando series by Karen Traviss, but with a caveat. Karen Traviss, for some reason, seems to really, really hate the Jedi. And that is reflected in her writing, but it's almost worth it for the Mandalorians adopting clones and the TRAGEDY. This one is set during the end of the Clone War, through Order 66. It also does not end super satisfyingly, but it's weirdly good anyways. So it's really up to you whether or not you think you can handle the rampant loathing of Jedi
Uhhh let's see, what else. There are so so many Legends books. The Jedi Academy Trilogy by Kevin J Anderson isn't the best written, but it gives you a really good look at what Luke's new Jedi Order looks like as he's building (and also happens, timeline-wise, at the same time as I, Jedi)
I think those are the main ones I know well enough to recommend! In my experience, anything by Timothy Zahn or Aaron Allston is pretty good. Avoid Troy Denning at all cost-- he does not, in my experience, write stuff that is particularly admirable, and it can be kinda gross. If you end up with a particular character you like a lot who you're looking for more content of, there's a good chance there's more out there! Feel free to send me any other questions you have, and don't feel pressure to read all of it. No one can possibly be an expert on all of Star Wars, there's just. Way too much of it (of course that's not really gonna stop me from trying)

I got sick and so I finally got some free time to finish Ben 10: Alien Force and Ultimate Alien. I am finally on the last season of Ultimate Alien (like half way through it) and I can safely say I enjoy it far more than Alien Force. I have no idea if that's actually a hot take but there it is. Now that I have finally watched this stuff and am nearly finished... I am still kind of shocked this is like considered top tier for the franchise. I find more issues with it than I did Omniverse. Not to say Omniverse is better because, aside maybe for my tastes, it isn't. To me they're pretty equal if I put my personal bias aside. It's just shocking in a sense because... I expected with how hated Omniverse was and how beloved these two were (besides season 3 of AF) that this would be amazing. It's not. I suppose I should learn that I can't take everybody at their word, especially when it comes to nostaglia. I still think the Og is top tier and these three other shows can't really compete with it. They each bring their own fun and frustrations to the table though. I can finally tell you my favorite versions of each character based on all I've watched. My favorite Gwen is Og, I think the following franchises didn't do her any justice. My favorite Grandpa Max is Og. I find every other iteration of him a pain. My favorite version of Kevin is obviously AF/UA. He is literally the best thing about those two shows. But my favorite Ben is in Omniverse. And I think this mostly has to do with the fact he's the most like Sonic (one of my most favorite fictional characters of all time) in Omniverse. Obviously he's still his own character but I can't ignore the comparison. I enjoy him the most in Omniverse as he's not quite as annoying as in Og (though I still love Og Ben), he's actually entertaining compared to Alien Force Ben who was kind of boring to me, I'm sorry. And while Ultimate Alien Ben was better his whole "I have a big ego and saved the universe dozens of times" jokes felt very inappropriately timed and wrong? Omniverse really gets that right for me, for whatever reason. I also feel as if it remained the most faithful to his character even in the poorly written episodes whereas in Ultimate Alien there's like this whole plot where Ben is ready to just kill a friend he’s known for a while now simply because they went a little insane with power which I wouldn't normally take issue with if this hadn't happened before and Ben wasn't like vehemently against hurting anybody originally. They even go as far as to point this out in the episode and Ben kind of steamrolls over it with, "Well, it was my fault so I should take this more seriously" despite the fact he never acts like this again so I don't get the point of it. It was actually really depressing, to be honest. Also, the amount of digs at Og Ben in Ultimate Alien is honestly frustrating. It's not huge or anything but it's enough to annoy me. It fundamentally misunderstands what Ben 10 Og was to prove some sort of point about their Ben. Look, I get it. They changed a lot so I'm sure so many fans at the time were complaining about how AF/UA Ben is nothing like Og Ben but do you gotta be this gosh darn insensitive about the source material your show is based off of and inspired by? Like in the episode Duped Ben splits into 3 different Bens and the rude and obnoxious one says, "I'm Ben 10 classic. Miss me?" Am I the only one who finds that mean? And then that episode where they have Og Ben actually show up and he's just an obnoxious asshole the entire time except that one deep moment they give which was to justify why he was an asshole as child which they didn't even need to do. He was 10. Of course he would be a brat. But he wasn't always a brat in the original and he did actually understand he could hurt peoples' feelings. Omniverse actually has a similar episode to this except big Ben and Og Ben switch bodies and in that he is not as a big of an asshole as Ultimate Alien made him out to be in that episode. I do not understand why it was necessary to make him so gosh darn mean. I really, really like Ben 10 so to constantly have these digs at the source material is frustrating. Aside from this Ultimate Alien is pretty great. I find Julie much less frustrating as a character, the episodes are fun, I have actually laughed out loud more than once, and, again, Ben is actually fun to watch. I cannot stress enough how much more fun it is that Ben actually seems to act like the teenager he is rather than some mini adult. I know realistically after all the hell he's been through he would have matured a lot but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have a teen mind and won't act like a kid sometimes. Also, Ultimate Alien actually killed a character on screen. Like no cut aways or some kind of logic to explain it or off-screen shenanigans. An alien just flat out died on screen and that took me so off-guard I laughed. I'm having so much fun enjoying an old cartoon I loved, despite my frustrations. This has been great. I couldn't recommend the whole of the Ben 10 franchise more. Aside from the reboot which I still have yet to watch in full but considering how upset the first two episodes made me, I'm a little scared to give it a chance again.

Your tags under the pokemon poll are SO TRUEE and it hurts how many people dont understand that
I grew up in the change from pixel art to 3D and have nostalgia for bw, xy AND sm. So i think because of that, I can see the good and bad in all the games but don't feel like any of them 'peaked''. They're all different games, so they are really hard to compare.
On a related note tho, its so sad to see so many fans praise one of my childhood games and not the others. And like, I get it because gen 5 is more similar to what they grew up with.....but every time I say I love xy, sm and even swsh i get told they are terrible and usually imply that I shouldnt like them :/
That only happens online, though......irl all the fans ive met, no matter their ages, just say something like 'i didnt like it, but i'm glad you did!'. Growing up in irl fan spaces and having to move online during corona was AN EXPERIENCE omg
Yeah! It's super interesting how much we are affected by nostaglia.
There's usually a pattern you can notice with this stuff too. There are two lines that go up as time goes on. The one everyone talks about as being great and the newer one people hate on, usually to do with nostalgia of the now older original audience of the game.
My full reply got long so putting it under a read more skfjsh
My first Pokemon game was Colosseum, so gen 2/3 pokemon and gen 3 sound effects are pretty nostalgic to me.
Then I grew up mostly playing Diamond/Platinum/PMD2/Ranger2. I LOVED Team Galactic. I restarted the games so many times just so I could play through the story again with Cyrus and the Galactic Grunt theme. (I have also played through pmd2 many many times). I remember in my early teens seeing people on the internet hating on DPPt a lot and it making me sad. I recall someone saying that the gen 4 Pokemon sucked and I remember thinking "aw I guess they're right, some of these pokemon are really boring or annoying" and then I learned later that the pokemon I was thinking of were all gen 1 pokemon sdfkjsh
Gen 5 was hated when it first came out because it wasn't very fun for new players. I bet it also didn't help that the advertising for B2W2 was pretty poor and also came out after the 3DS did. I didn't even know it was a sequel until years later. That's why they went in the complete opposite direction for gen 6, and added gimmicks!
I have heard multiple people call the designs from gen 5 horrible over the years (And they're all wrong). Those comments are nowhere NEAR as frequent now, but they almost always come from people with nostalgia for the ones they grew up with.
I was 13 when BW first came out. I think I've only beaten it once, MAYBE twice. I'm not entirely sure why, because I was still replaying DPPt a lot. I would guess it's because the game is super linear in terms of gameplay and every playthrough will start exactly the same. You don't really get to make decisions on your team and how you play until later. Kid me loved the beginning of the main pokemon games the most because they were the most fun bits to play usually. So I suppose when you've already played it once, the beginning becomes quite boring.
And to compare. I did not like XY when it first came out. I was 16 and very against change and also my fav types at the time were dark and dragon so fairy type was the worst thing ever. I said previously that I really liked Team Galactic, so Team Flare was just a bootleg version of them to me. BUT I did immediately replay the game when I finished it. The character customisation plus the huge dex gives the game a lot of replayability. Because while I didn't like a lot about the game it was still fun to play, and it was the first time online was really accessible to me. I went back to 2013/2014 on my blog and there's SO much positivity about the game it's amazing! Over time people only remembered the bad parts and started hating it. I bet there'll be an influx of nostalgia for it before long. We can even see it in the hope people have for SV having Kalos DLC.
I need to replay sun/moon or play USUM because in my brain currently it sucks. But I'm very aware that that's because I only played it once, it's been years, and I played it when I started to grow out of Pokemon. So I'm excited to play it again now that I can appreciate it better. (Also the Sun/Moon anime is my fav so I have a lot of love for the characters now)
And finally, I loved SWSH! I didn't finish it the first time I tried to play it. Mostly because I spent HOURS trying to get a shiny hatenna before doing the fire gym skdfjhs. But then I SPED through the game with a bug type only run before Legends came out and I really enjoyed the story! One of those things that's more enjoyable if you're only focused on enjoying the story (and playing the game through with a joltik as the lead and trying to make sure they stay strong enough to beat the game with pfft) Also Leon was the first ever Champion I actually thought was cool and enjoyed seeing while playing the game (as ridiculous as his outfit is)
If I were to logically plot out the best for me based on how nostalgia works and taking into consideration that public opinion ABSOLUTELY influences me. I would have said BW was the best and XY(or SM) was the downfall, even though I had way more fun playing XY than BW as a kid

Austin and Ally: Bloggers and Butterflies Episode Reviewcap:  Oh Bother (Patreon Review for Emma Fici)
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy people and welcome to popculturebuffet where I review some of my faviorite media... and... this thing. Yeah it’s time for a patreon review as 5 dollar or more patrons get one guaranteed slot a month... and this one is me being impaled on my own sword. See during my review of Muppets Most Wanted earlier this month, I talked about how much I hated the series Austin and Ally, as Ross Lynch from the show appeared in the movie and I felt he stuck out like a sore thumb among the rest of the cameos. It was a throaway joke but we got to talkiing about it more after I sent Emma the review (She had comissioned it)... and well you can see where this ended up. And this isn’t the first time i’ve hinted at something I dislike in a review that I might review down the road.. but it’s the first time someone’s had me review one of these things.
I should make some things clear. I”m 30. When I saw some scattered episodes of Austin and Ally in it’s first season, I was 20. I was NEVER in this show’s target demo at the time I watched it. I have no nostaglia for it nor mercy and never did.  So if you have some soft spot for it because of nostlagia or you like what some of the actors did later.. your good. You do not have to like what I like or hate what I hate. These reviews are my honest opinons and while I try to make my case and crack some jokes, I am not trying to shame you if you like this show, nor am I shaming the actors for being in it. Hollywood is rough, and especially as a teen and as we’ve seen with other disney stars, being put into the disney star machine can be rough. No tonly that they’ve all gone on to work on other stuff: Ross Lynch had steady success with 4 seasons of chilling adventures of sabrina, both he and Laura Mareno have kept singing after this, Calum Worthy went on to the critically acllaimed american vandal and Rani Rodregeuz has gone on to do voice work and more disney work. I’m never going to shame a young actor for shooting their shot. So there is nothing against the young actors or young fans who liked this show.
That being said.. this show is hot, flaming , toasty garbage. It is not good. I am not saying that to be hyperbolic: While I am trying to cut down on the salt, this work is geninely bad. And while I do get it’s aimed for kids.. kids deserve better than this. I’ve seen decent Disney Channel Sitcoms: I watched Girl Meets World not long after this, Even Stevens holds up okay from what I can remember, and even in recent times i’ve seen episodes of Syndey to the Max. It’s pretty good and has a creative dual time periods premise. So then, before this, and after this there were D-Sitcoms that geninely tried. I just don’t like ones like this that really do’nt. That don’t care and are just trying to sell kids music instead of an actual show. That replace actual effort with “wacky bullshit”. And I love wacky bullshit. I geninely do. I’ve been rereading zits lately and despite all the crap it gets and how steretoypcial it can be with hit’s main family.. it can still be utterly great at times.
Tumblr media
This show.. has no real creativity. It’s clearly trying to cash in on the fact Disney had a market in making their actors also signers, by casting two talented singers, making the show about music and a central couple, throwing in wacky sidekicks and stirring. It’s pandering on a scale not ever seen. And yet current day disney cancels shows for being actually good and wanting ot be representivie. You might see why I like taking pot shots at them. It’s because even a decade ago they pulled shit like this, making something gentically engineered to be profitable.. and it WORKED. Four full seasons of this happened. Four seasons of a show that was stale, and made clearly just to make a profit and make more signers to cash out on before they decided they wanted you know.. creative contorl and a wider audience. But I can give it two things: 1 the two leads really can sing even if the songs their often given, esepcially the intro aren’t good, and two.. this episode gave me a LOT of material to riff on. A lot. While the structure, setup and everything is typical this episode makes some .... choices... some ones that are bafflign in the best way possible.
Case in point, I went into the episode not really happy to review this, but willing to concede I might of overblown what I thought of it. The episode opens with Austin, an up and coming teen singer, alone in the music shop of his friend, love intrest, songwriter and co-lead Ally, Sonic Boom. It’s where the teens congregate the most and is located in an outdoor shopping plaza, with the plaza itself the second main area. He’s eating an ice cream cone alone in there.
Tumblr media
He then drops it on his pants. Now a normal person would just say scoop the ice cream off their crotch back onto the cone or write it off as an oopsy daisy. Austin... carefully takes off his pants in a way that dosen’t drop the ice cream, puts the pants on the counter... and then procedes to pull out all the fixins for a sundae
Tumblr media
But he does not and instaed makes a “pants sundae”.... and just typing that makes me worry i’m going to be put on a watchlist just for doing my job. Case in point someone video taped austin doing this and put it on the internet while Ally tries to explain she shoudln’t have to put up a sign saying no eating off pants, as she’s watching the video with austin the next day. Turns out a blogger has been dedicating her life to destroying austin and his career, which is oddly forward thinking for a show that fully approved a pantsless teenager eating a sundae off his jeans for script, then after blockign then didn’t cut it out of the how entirely.  I mean nowadays she’d use twitter, but still, it predates cancel culture and deepfakes as she later also fakes a story about him saving a kid , a local one named Nelson who shows up a lot and is adorable, into “him dunking him in a fountain”.
Also Trish, Ally’s best friend, comes in announcing “Guess who just got hired at something something pirate themed fish restraunt”. That’s her catchphrase though she stole her gimmick of getting a new job and fired every episode from Jonsey of 6teen. Seriously it’s just.. the same exact gag: lazy teen gets fired at every job in some wacky way and has a new one each episode.
She’s only upset about it because she has to work with Dez, not for the pirate outfits which I wish i’d remembered ahead of time as it’s pirate month next month. Dez is Austin’s best friend. Dez also sucks, being annoying, goofy in the “way a 40 year old writer who dosen’t know how a teenager ever acted “ way, and repedadtely screwing the team over in this very episode. The only reason they don’t replace him with a trained chimp is that Disney saw what happened with Gordy’s Home back in the TGIF era and decided not to repeat past mistakes.. once twitter caught wind they were repeating past mistakes.
Oh and the blog’s name.. is hater girl.
Tumblr media
You might see what I mean about the show being creatively bankrupt. Also just going to get Dez and Trish’s subplot out of the way now as while they wear pirate costumes all episode, it dosen’t really impact the plot.. at all. Trish slacks off while Dez depfries everything like this was a Bellville Family Thanksgiving, which while not really funny persay for the most part two bits did have me chuckle: him depfrying trish’s cellphone and her using it afterwords, and when the two need to get fired to end this subplot get to the performance at the end of the main plot, Dez DEEPFRIES EVERYTHING THAT’S NOT NAILED DOWN IN THE RESTRAUNT. The effect is passable but I wo’nt lie that it’s kind of awesome.
So the main plot has Hater girl frame Austin for child drowning, leading to his performance being canceled..a fter he planned to hide out in a tent till said performance. and also implicilty takes a dump in the broom closet thinking it was  a bathroom.
Tumblr media
Disney wanted this character to be a teen heartthrob. They instead somehow made him Beavis with better hair. So that night Beavis, Butthead, Ally and Trish camp out to catch her, only to fall alseep
Tumblr media
Dez contacted HaterGirl with pictures.... and she sneaks away as the recycling bin that’s the drop for said pictures. Gotta give her points for that. Oh and Dez actually gave her pictures. Though let’s be real: he ate a sundae off his trousers and people think he tried drowning a child. I don’t think a few school photos are going to make him extra canceled or anything.
Luckily our heroes catch a break as HaterGirl has been spying on them as a catfish, so Dez reels her in with a fishing rod and they unmask her scooby doo style. And Austin’s reactoin..
Tumblr media
Turns out HaterGirl is Tilly, and she has nothing against Austin. She’s been stalking him for the past few days including as a baby and loudly asks him to change her.
Tumblr media
So thanks for reading and... dammit i’m not getting out of this am I?
Yeah so turns out Tilly is highly unstable and is mad at ally for upstaging her in kindergarten... even though all Ally did was peform a better song. OUr heroes tread carefully knowing this could go from disney channel sitcom to slasher film in an instant.
Dez once again fucks up, pointing out why she didn’t just go after Ally and making note of Ally’s stage fright.
Tumblr media
So Tilly gives her an ultimatium: sing her song on stage and die by embarassment, or she ruins austin’s career. They try a test practice with Ally singing from some stuffed animals, including a dolphin Austin tries to take for himself in the only naturla moment in 25 minutes, but it fails. Oh also Trish wanted to see the performance to see Ally barf because both characters need better friends. The song is also important to ally as it’s what made her decide to be a songwriter. As for what gave her stage fright.. she’s not ready to explain that. And look most of the acting on this show is very stitled: Ross Lynch as austin tries to go over the top but can’t quite reach it so he comes off as hammy yet subdued and Laura Maurno as Ally just.. can’t quite act and can’t emote to save her life. I don’t blame either of them as again not only have they gotten more work, but it’s the directo’rs job to help especially when the actors are this young. But the two DO have a natural chemistry and the moments the two share do feel genine. I can see why this dog turd of a show had fans. Also rani Rodregueiz does turn in a good performance and dez’ actor tries, so I can’t fault them, they just had more natural charisma.  Thankfully we do get a decent climax as Ally is clearly about to explode with embarassment.. only for Austin to step in. His career isn’t worth his friend’s humilation and he’s going to sing instead. THis also ends up netting him and Tilly the right kinds of Karama as tilly errupts that if he dosen’s sing she’ll keep going on stage.. into the mic, wtih Austin making it clear to the audeince seconds later, and her tantrum after. Also Trish escorts her off... I thought she was taking her to jail for you know, stalking, harassment and wanting to wear allys skin but no she’s free at the end of the episode. I also really don’t like how Disney has a bad tendency of having “crazy” characters. Mental illness.. really is’nt a joke, but they had this girl and also creepy connie on Jesse, and I don’t think their the only “crazy” stalker characters. It’s okay to have a character be mentally unstable or a villian, but ot have the only mentally unstable characters be weird, creepy or stalkers is.. not right. Not at all. And I say that as someone with a mental illness. So austin sings, he gets a dolphin and i’m thankfully free of this mummys curse unless someone pays me to revisit it or emma uses her patreon review for it again. Austin and Ally is a stilted, messy sitcom that tries to use wackiness over jokes, with actors who clearly weren’t made comfortable in their rolls or given time to be and with a stock premise. THank you for reading, and to the actors involved i’m sorry I had to dredge up your pasts. You guys deserve better.

Confessions of a Recovering Genrephobic 2/17/2024
Hey Whores,
Don't really have a lot to say about this week. Been getting some stuff done. Namely Taxes. Been spending some money investing in myself. And realizing that I really need to kick my ass in high gear and start applying for new jobs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carnival of Clockwork (2015) - The Cog is Dead
Genre: Various, Steampunk Length: 47:14 (14 tracks)
I don't have a lot to say about this album. Mostly because i am a silly billy tired boy. Look do you like steampunk stuff with the storys and the cogs and the aestetics. Your'll like this.
I wasn't expecting the album to have such an eclectic sound to it but overall it has been a really nice time.

Sorry For Party Rocking (2011) - LMFAO
Genre: Pop Rap, Electro Length: 37:15 (10 Tracks)
So we have all heard LMFAO right? Sorry for Party Rocking, Shots, Everyday I'm Shuffling. Right?
Tumblr media
(God I love Francine. This isn't even the specific scene I was trying to reference)
LMFAO is like the ultimate 2000s party music. It has a dub-step adjacent sound, the lyrics are fun and stupid. And its just hot and stupid and fun. Its like if Marshmellow and Lil John had like Gay sex while piss drunk on Johhny Walker and Lemon Drops and then had a child that somehow was the epitome of straight party bros but like in a nice wholesome way.
There is a surprisingly amount of variety in this album. Besides the more remembered singles there are tracks on here which are just explicetly EDM with sparse vocals and we love that for them.
5/5 (partialy for the nostaglia)
Tumblr media
Pink Friday 2 (2023) - Nikki Minaj
Genre: Hip Hop Length: 70:14 (22 Tracks)
OOOH GURL. We don't stan.
So first of off the real critics criticize this album for being overally long and yeah bitch this is 22 FUCKING SONGS. GIRL WHY DO I NEED TO HERE 22 SONGS IN A GODDaMN ROW> WHO IS SHE WHO SI THIS PERSON THAT SO MUCH OF A BARB THAT WE WANT TO HEAR 22 SONGS IN A ROW>
She ain't here girl all I'm saying. Not to belabor the point but I literally thought the album had ending and that I was listening to autoplay for the last 20 minutes.
There songs are fine? Its a lot of samples and vagualy etheral sounding production. It sounds like I'm listening to someone sample a "Now this what I call Music '83" while I'm Stuck in the bottom of a well. Nikki be spitting verse but I can't say that it has much of the same stopping power as like any of her other music.
This just wasn't for me and the length makes it harder for me to appreciate the individual tracks.
2/5
Tumblr media
Prelude to Ecstasy (2024) - The Last Dinner Party
Genre: Rock, Baroque Pop Length: 41:16 (12 Tracks)
ok this was just a lovely fucking time for a rainy day. Imagine a kinda 80s pop ballad band, mix it with light rock, and a florence-adjacent voculist and you got The Last Dinner Party. I'm gonna play one song for you and if this doesn't do anything for you then I'm sorry baby.
There non-singles are a lot more esoteric in the sound. They trade the catchy pop rock structure for something quite a bit more layered, baroque, and theatrical? orchestral? surreal? Baby girl, baby boy, baby zem you know I'm not good at discribing music.
Its like the perfect album for a rainy day. Meloncholic, evocative, and just almost purient in feeling. Its like wet chiffon against the skin in a summer rain.

Okay, wow! I just finished Tiger and Bunny 2′s first cour and I loved it to absolutely bits! If the second cour ends up being as good as this one, then the second season will be my favorite of the two easily. Season 1 holds a lot of nostaglia, but this new season just feels even better and tighter, since a lot of the groundwork was already done.
I think one of the most impressive things about Tiger and Bunny 2 so far has been how they were able to capture both the feeling that time had passed (both in-series and outside of the series), but yet also the feeling that not that much time has passed at all. The series still *feels* the same. I’m so happy!
I have so many thoughts and things I want to say about the series right now. So I’m going to do a bunch of little mini write ups with some screenshots and stuff, so I can focus on each point and not write massive, rambling essay.

Became nostalgic and checked your blog. I remember when I was in peak YouTuber Ego craze and checked yours, Freckled-words, and others' tumblrs for reader inserts of interactions with your followers (Me included) daily as if it was the newspaper. It's been 5-6 years since that and I have slowly moved away from the YouTuber Egos, there was fun times and cringe times but I would never trade it all. Thank you for being a part of that and letting me be a part of it too! <3
Its been quite some time since I have written anything to do with the Egos. I'm still here. But mostly just reblogs. I do miss it. And I am still a fan, but by no means as hyperfixated as I use to be. I think it is mostly nostaglia based adoration, tho.
Tbh, I remember your name and icon. You were a regular on this blog and I am thankful for your support. I still see you occassionally on my notes. Even if I don't write for them anymore, I still hold the Egos close to my heart as muses since they were the reason I started writing. And they were the foundations of my writing skills that now continue into other stuff.
It was alot of fun! And I miss coming onto Tumblr everyday and seeing comments, notes and asks for the bois or me. Those were my morning newspaper.
I hope you're doing well, love! And thank you so much for letting me entertain you and flourish as a writing.

50. What's your dreamhouse?
Love your future wife xoxo
omg 🙈🤍😂 gahhhh honestly - I don’t ever want to own a house tbh.
Maybe a large, open concept loft at the top of a tall building in a big city; private roof spot with a small pool and a green space, one of those super cushy couch swings that are practically a bed.
The inside is all brick and dark wood and whitewash, endlessly huge windows and skylights, no real doors except to the bathroom, tons of cushions and carpets and lamps. I really like Edison bulbs. Everything neutral toned but with my fav colors (orange and green) as the accents.
Claw foot bathtub, a mirrored wall, cast iron in the kitchen, huge bookshelves, a papsan chair (we had them at my gramma’s place growing up, it’s a nostaglia thing) and lots of space to paint and create art and stuff. Big fireplace.
Lemme try and find stuff to give the ~~vibes~~

just some thoughts, excited >w< //just gonna copy and paste from twitter cause why would i reword everything..
--
i need to like make  a seperate twitter for the cyoa comic that jude and i are doing, so that like people can follow that twitter if they want notifications for updates
but like i cant until...we figure out what to title it lol
-
anyways im like..skdjf so excited about it we've been mostly worldbuilding and figuring out various interactive elements we wanna do for it
so it's gonna be something like rpg style game but as a comic.
-
so readers get to like choose to explore areas, inspect things, suggest actions, etc etc and those things def do impact the plot cause we wanted to develope at least a few different ways the story can go, but ultimately there is technically a pre-written story
-
it's just like how when you play rpg games, there's already a plot but you can do stuff that still affects it and also you can explore areas, talk to people etc etc
anyways i think it's gonna be a lot of fun! i hope readers have fun!!
--
im thinking about how tho tegaki-e being like the home base for the cyoa comic was like a super spur of moment choice heavily influenced by teen years nostaglia with it...i still think it was a great choice uwu
cause like the comment section is really fun
-
also idk soemthing about heavily underdeveloped websites gives me warm feelings anyways
i hope that more people join the site cause honestly it's pretty fun i think!
also...i just hope the site doesnt die off again ; - ;
//i have no idea if the reboot creator is like active
