as a kaleidoscope of death reader, spirealm lin qiushi's reaction to li dongyuan pulling out a pic of ruan baijie is so interesting to me. he clearly knows who she is, but doesn't react with surprise at all; he's seen her before. however, thus far, ruan nanzhu has only ever presented male onscreen. therefore, lin qiushi must have met ruan baijie offscreen.
my hc scenario for this is that lin qiushi was just chilling at the obsidian house one time and ruan baijie walked out of a door and collapsed on the couch sighing. after a solid minute of thinking "who is that??? have they broken in??? do i need to tell someone???" cheng qianli walks in asks how ruan-jie is doing. cue several minutes of strained eavesdropping where lin qiushi tries to confirm if he heard right, before ruan baijie calls out to him to stop eavesdropping and make her a drink. this is the thing that confirms to lin qiushi that they are the same person.

So we've yet to get through the entire SotO pt 2 story but we had a dream of what the rest of the Nayos map will look like (we have explored the starting zone for the record):
You know that general aesthetic of man-made sci-fi space structures? Like the buildings seen in the Alien movies or what you might see in the Ratchet and Clank games?
Okay picture that, but covered in the Kryptis flesh stuff. Now that's the main base.
You're given a special action to let you short range teleport between platforms that lead up to this base, similar to the mechanist teleport.
The final step to actually reach the base is riding on top of a flying Kryptis centipede thing about the length of two school buses. Now that you're successfully at the base, this is where the interesting stuff happens.
You get a cutscene with Peitha and the Commander, and she explains that, as you currently are, you can't enter in order to complete the mission (it wasn't clear if the air inside the building was too thick for you to breathe it, or like the security mechanisms wouldn't let you pass for not being Kryptis/Kryptis royalty, or whatever).
So what is the solution that Peitha suggests? Oh, you know, the usual, she just merges her body with yours and you're now wearing a full body version of the Kryptis armour set (to visually show that fact she has indeed merged with you, in case you forgot)
But ya know what, it works! You step inside, there's even more flesh stuff covering walls and things, some chests you can loot. Very dark and creepy vibes, but you probably stopped paying attention the moment you read the part of Peitha merging her body with yours, didn't you.

What if you read The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas and asked, “What if the child was determined to escape their fate? Would it be morally right to help this child be free, knowing you would be dooming thousands to starvation and poverty and despair? Or would it be morally right to stop this child, even kill this child, to protect those thousands? And what if the child, in order to escape their fate, had to do terrible things? Had to hurt and kill? Is that child still innocent? Even as they get older? At what point does that child become a monster, even if they are a monster of your making? It is not enough to walk away - the child is here, at your doorstep. What will you do?”
If any of that sounds interesting to you then you should watch Dororo (2019), a one season anime that is pretty much exactly this concept except it’s set in feudal Japan and involves demon hunting.

I don't read or follow Black Clover, but after accidentally briefly reading how the final Big Bad's power worked make me glad Urahara is not the bad guy in Bleach
