Not quite trauma au!

An au I'm thinking based on THIS.

Not quite trauma au, where there is still canon sad but I keep the support system of the ones involved so they suffer less :)

Or me showing my blatant favoritism of Robin by making her the main character.

Basically robin gets to keep Saul as her friend and they travel around the seas (since he's still a wanted marine traitor and she has the whole wanted since 8 years old thing) and Robin does research about the islands they visit, the folklore, urban legends, weird phenomenons and actual history.

I'd like to think she does some type of transmissions/vídeos (idk if there are recording devices, maybe some time of den den mushi, or a shell from Skypea???) that reveal the actual history of those people and it often paints the marine in a not so great light 👍 so more reason for her to be wanted yay!

And she definitely would have some ties to the revolutionary army in someway since she'd know more about them through Saul, an the things her mom was trying to achieve with them.

The drawing is of her visiting Drum island after she heard about the sudden lack of doctors and the witch and her monster. Turns out their just some quirky people.

Is it bad that a part of me wants to see Kuina (who beat Zoro at fighting over 2000 times, training to be the greatest swordswoman, acutely aware of what people say about her gender and how it impedes her dream) meet Sanji (refuses to fight a woman just because they're a woman), just to see what type of trainwreck ensues. I feel like it would either be awful or absolutely hilarious.

What if Michael met ghost Mike?

I feel your confusion, but hear me out.

There's no time travel involved. A part of Michael died with his brother, and that concept is taken literally.

A result of trauma? Penance? A supernatural fluke? You decide.

Michael Afton's life continues. He gets older, he starts trying to figure out his father's crimes, he gets involved with trying to save the souls that are trapped.

He never questions the crying he sometimes hears, never questions the cold hand he's felt on his wrist when his life was in danger. It could have been anyone. One of the kids didn't quite leave, maybe, or his brother or sister came around from time to time. He grew accustomed to it.

Once, though, in the mirror, he sees another version of himself standing nearby. That sort of thing is hard to write off.

Traps I came up with for my SAW AU of my WIP but not a WIP because it’s more of just a thing I write, part 1.

Halo of Death / Halo Trap

So, I’m actually pretty proud of this trap because I felt so clever coming up with this and because I’m a sucker for traps that are connected to the person/are symbolic.

This was the first trap I wrote for the AU and the victim is none other than my beloved oc, Maxine.

The trap itself is a steel ring affixed around the victim’s head, connected at a collar around the neck. Inside of the steel ring is a series of thin metal wiring on motors that are attached to a series of hooks that are placed on select points of the victim’s face. The idea is, once the time runs out, the hooks will retract rapidly and flay the person’s face.

(Maybe an amount of suspended disbelief is required here, I’m not too sure, but we roll.)

In order for the victim to escape they must use two belt sanders that have been placed either side of them to sand off their skin and flesh to uncover the two keys that have been embedded into their arms. Both are used to unlock the trap.

I would go more in-depth for the lore here but this isn’t an OC lore post so… As for the symbolism behind the trap, in short, Maxine experienced a great deal of damage and religious trauma at the hands of the Catholic Church as she was growing up, especially between the ages of 15-18. She is 21 in the AU. This, among other factors, lead her to be destructive to not only herself but also other people and this continues even after she rebukes and leaves the church and no longer practices any faith whatsoever. This is actually an integral part of her character in the “normal universe” as with other oc’s arcs, I just translated them over into the AU.

The main symbolic aspect of this trap is the ring that encircles Maxine’s head while in the trap. I got this idea from the way that saints, angels and other holy figures are depicted in art found in stained glass windows and paintings. Rather the halo being a horizontally placed ring, it is instead a circle behind the head.

Here’s some examples of what I’m talking about along with a very rushed and basic drawing of the general shape of the trap with Maxine in it. The wires and hooks could also be representative of the lines you sometimes see running from the circumference of the halo to it’s centre? But honestly that’s more of a loose connection.

The symbolism just doesn’t end here though. Maxine is pretty self indulgent when it comes to appearance. This mostly comes from the people she socialises with but also because I think there’s something to be said for losing so much all you have left is your flesh and skin, so she puts so much effort into it because in a way it’s all she has left. So then having the threat of that being ripped away from her, literally and figuratively, is pretty symbolic. That and the way she’s also torn others apart, so in order to escape she must do the same to herself concerning the belt sanders.

The belt sanders also play a role, she has to kneel and put her arms in these box like cages where the belt sanders are fixed inside. Kneeling while holding your arms up/open is a pretty common practice in worship. That and also I feel like I could make a comment about this playing into the fact John Kramer does very much in-fact have a god complex? Either way, this entire trap was meant to be a mockery of her and her experiences and a more fucked up twist on, “turn to God, it’ll save your life.”

the divergent au is funny to me because if cole ever sees the ninja again they're going to see him accompanied by a) pythor, one of their worst enemies b) morro, another one of their enemies and c) zane's long lost brother. it would be so much chaos

The best part is that this happens when they're invited to Vania's coronation after Cole's group goes through the events of MoM. So Cole is Too Tired for all of this and Pythor's Too Old for all this bickering and nobody's happy with anyone. Vania is trying so so hard to keep the two groups from running into each other when she first finds out the ninja were invited and It Does Not Work.

Chaos ensues.

mmmmm, i'm not sure about that. in the case of if daenaerys survived, she'd cling to aelyra for as long as she could. she'd absolutely directly sabotage aemon and baelon but it kind of depends on who daenaerys sees as a better match for her beloved sister and even then, aelyra has the most incredible stubborn streak. she won't let anyone choose her husband for her.

The void party ends; Black Star ends up stuck because No Light decides to take a nap on him. (Rogue and Rascal thankfully left peacefully) Glitter and Vortex are waiting to be picked up, as Chaos is likely still with Blue Moon. Virulent is of course still here as this is his dimension. Vortex decides he is also tired and curls up in Glitter's lap.

Butler and Werewolf are confused about why the other two voids are so sleepy compared to Virulent who is still ready for mischief.

Bad Endings

Even the strongest monsters can be brought low... (AU info under the cut!)

Finally, some more Vicious art! This time featuring two Villains AUs of mine that just... really suck for Victor; Blind Justice and Serena Wins. The former’s really more of a fic concept I’m working on, so I won’t spoil too much about it at the moment- let’s just say it involves Eli trying a different method of dealing with his archnemesis. As for Serena Wins, it’s a much bigger AU that I’ve been working on; essentially, Serena manages to catch Victor off guard during Vicious, and rather than let Eli kill him, she decides she wants to run a little experiment of her own. What happens when two enemies are forced to live together in a violent, manipulated, abusive mockery of their old friendship? Problems, that’s what. Eli and Victor are both stuck struggling to stay afloat while Serena begins to pull more and more strings (she’s quite curious about Victor’s philosophy on EO life, and a more confident, indulgent Serena is a truly terrifying threat...). Needless to say, Victor isn’t having a good time in either of these scenarios. Anyways, if you have any questions about these AUs feel free to ask!
