Bullying in Fandom Spaces

If your only talent is insulting others and throwing tantrums, maybe "fun" isn't the word for it. Maybe "sad" is.

It’s genuinely wild how many people mistake being loud, rude, and miserable for being right. Not everything needs to be a personal attack. Not every disagreement is a blood sport. You can care about something without immediately trying to tear everyone else down for the dopamine rush.

And if your only idea of “fun” is insulting strangers for attention, congratulations, you’re not edgy, you’re just emotionally stunted. It’s pathetic, it’s boring, and it’s not the flex you think it is.

It’s also worrying how casual some people are about it. It’s one thing to lose your temper, i’s another thing entirely to openly admit you're bullying someone and laugh about it like that’s normal. I’m genuinely concerned at how easily basic empathy gets thrown out the window in these fandom spaces, how quickly people stop seeing each other as human beings just because it's online.

It's also concerning how when you stand up for yourself, you're seen as the problem in that situation. None of us know what someone else is carrying. You don’t know the cost of that "joke" you think is harmless. Being decent costs nothing. And the fact that some people think empathy is optional is exactly why it matters more than ever.

Anyway, I'm gonna keep enjoying what I enjoy and talking about what matters to me. And because of recent experiences, I'm going to start talking more about basic online decency, and take on a much stronger anti-bullying stance on this platform. Thanks everyone, for reading this through.
