So, I bought the second volume to tgci because I needed more content in my life after the ending of season two (plus I wanted to be ahead of the anime in case they ever release a season 3), and while I read it I decided to watch The Untamed because I wanted to see if I'd like mxtx's other stuff. This was my first mistake. I got so into it that I marathoned the show whenever I had free time and quickly got obsessed with it to the point I bought the first volume to mdzs.

I decided that I was going to read both volumes at the same time because I wanted to get through both. My dumbass didn't learn from my first mistake because I then proceeded to ONLY read mdzs and finished it in three days. The only reason it wasn't sooner is because I unfortunately have obligations during the week.

Anyway, mdzs is my life now and I'm gonna go draw the drunk scene from the first book while I try to be responsible and not buy the second volume with the rest of my money.

HI OMG IM SO SORRY FOR THE VERY LATE REPLY, IVE BEEN VERY BUSY BUT SURE! And since I'm a multishipper, I'll just list my top 5 ships out of fandoms I've been in

FengCui: Feng Xiao x Cui Buqu (Wushuang/Peerless) - The reason I love this ship so much and is my top 1 out of all the shows and books ive read and watched is because I'm so in love with their dynamic, development, and interactions with each other. They first start of as rivals then gradually start to fall for each other with each case they work and time they spent togther. I also loved the fact that the author didn't use stereotypical tropes with the main cp. While its enemies to lovers, to me, it's enemies AND lovers because when they do get together, their dynamic didn't change and they still remained the same. And that's one of the reasons why I love this pair so much.

2. Cezhou: Shen Zechuan x Xiao Chiye (Qiang Jin Jiu/Ballad of Sword and Wine) - I honestly debated if this should be my top 1 but I ultimately decided this would be my top 2 mainly bc I prefer fengcui's dynamic more, But of course, that doesn't make this ship any less great and amazing! In my opinion, this is enemies to lovers with sexual tension done right. I used to hate the trope enemies to lovers because of experience and personal things... But this ship changed my perspective on it a lot. Even though they got together early in the novel, they're still the ship that has the most amazing development and growth I've seen in such as a long time.

3. Hualian: Xie Lian x Hua Cheng (Heaven Official's Blessing) - Ah yes... the classic. I had to put them at my top 3 because TGCF and hualian is what mainly got me into danmei and to this day, I still adore them with all my heart and I'll never ever forget how they made such a huge impact on me... They're like romeo and juliet but done right. They're also the couple that made my standards so unrealistic to the point that I think I'll never ever be able to find someone to love as much as how much they love each other... As much as they're unrealistic, they also made an impact on how I view love in general. I also relate to hua cheng when it comes to appearances because dawg... I am also so insecure of that as well... and when Hua Cheng is insecure about it and Xie Lian is just telling him that he's gorgeous and not ugly like he thinks he is just makes me want to cry because that validation and comforting words is what all of us insecure people need. Just having the reassurance that we're perfect just the way we are...

4. Lucathy: Lucas x Athanasia De Alger Obelia/Athy (Who Made Me a Princess) - I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! Athy is so precious to me and I will protect her at all cost! And I love how their relationship just naturally progresses on the time the spent together and isn't just immediate love at first sight. And I also love how lucas went from "I'm going to watch this bc this is entertaining" to "If you ever hurt her, I'll destroy all of obelia" and bro... LUCAS IS SO WHIPPED FOR ATHY ITS SO FUNNY AHAHAH (Also reminds me on how Xiao Chiye is so whipped for Shen Zechuan but that's another time). And not only that, but I love how Lucas got back from his quest, heard about how Athy got humiliated, bro was like: "Should I kill him?" like bro did not care if it was her father, if someone did shit to her, he would deal with them.

5. LoidYor: Loid Forger x Yor Forger (Spy x Family) - BRO I IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS SHIP!! Assassin x Spy? OH HELL YEA! I've honestly been waiting for this kind of trope for such a long time lol. Not only that, but I low how yor is such a girlboss and protects her family even if it isn't real. I honestly really like their progression so far and I hope that they honestly become a family in the end... I have nothing really much to say about this ship because I haven't been keeping up with SXF but I really love them and they're trope because I haven't seen Assassin x Spy trope in fandoms I've been in.

Thanks for this ask sm!!!!!! I was so excited to answer it, I had to log in on my laptop to type this all out lmao I have very strong feelings about ships and shipping, and my favorite characters!! Sorry in advance this isn't a list, but more of an essay, I just can't make myself to choose only 10 ships!

Well, first, I love obsessive relationships, so one of my favorite ships is definitely Xie Lian/Hua Cheng (Heaven Official's Blessing)

and while we're on danmei, honorable mentions for Chu Wanning/Mo Ran (The Husky and His White Cat Shizun) and Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua (the side couple in The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System).

I love Genshin Impact, and I have several ships that I love and that I think would and should be canon if China weren't viciously homophobic, but my favorites are Childe/Zhongli and Kaedehara Kazuha/Tomo (aka Kazuha's best friend). I also love Alhaitham/Kaveh.

When it comes to anime, I'm genuinely convinced jjk is partially a bl bcs of Gojo Satoru/Getou Suguru. Like best friends to lovers to enemies is THE BEST trope (I love suffering). And along those lines, another favorite is Dazai Osamu/Nakahara Chuuya, but I do also ship Dazai with Oda, I like the weird relationship they have, and I like the fact that them having romantic feelings for each other just makes their dynamic even more fucked up.

When it comes to kind of sweet ships, I love Din Djarin/Luke Skywalker, and I especially love to read all the single parent Din Djarin fics, they're so sweet!! Another one is probably Kozume Kenma/Kuroo Teturou. Fun fact: I never finished watching Haikyuu!!, I just love their vibes, and have a lot of feelings about best friends to lovers ships evidently lmao I'm also going to add Eddie Diaz/Evan Buckley here bcs they're a combo version of the other two ships containing my favorite things (single dads and bestiism to lovers). They're a new favorite ship, but I think they're here to stay

And lastly, my favorite ships from books. Starting with Jude/Cardan (The Folk of The Air), I like it when men are pathetic and that's what really appeals to me in this ship lmao And then there are the classic ships if you were on booklr during 2012-2015, which are Ronan Lynch/Adam Parrish (The Raven Cycle), and Magnus Bane/Alec Lightwood (Shadowhunters). Let me just be very clear, I've never watched the tv show, so my love is only for the book series ship.

nie/yao is also fun to me because of how much tension and strife they have.

i like nie/lan the least of all possible 3zun pairings just bc i like the conflict jgy brings to the table LOL

even though zhui/ling is the most popular junior pairing i... am not a huge fan of it? they're not blood relatives at all but both are still family to wwx in ways that make me feel weird about them romancing each other. in no war/wens are good aus i'd be more into it...

jingzhui isn't on the chart but they're also both inner lan clan members. so. weird to me! i like ling/yi best. they banter a lot but still get along well as friends

i can see why people are compelled by wen ning and wwx. i love their fucked up codependency too. i just don't see it romantically

i also see why people might ship cheng/xian, i just sincerely think their relationship is most compelling as siblings or pseudo-family due to the social class tensions.

chang/mian is quite rare just bc both characters are so minor but like... god can you imagine all the jiang cheng & wwx parallels. pointing. those are their dads

sang/cheng is like... most of the time it feels very pair the spares-esque. BUT. they both have a lot of similarities underneath the surface and if people tap into that i do like it. BUT (again) i just really prefer it platonic. jiang cheng is like peak "this man is aroace and does not know what either of those words are" to me. celibacysweep and all that

sang/yao. honorable mention to my favorite fucked up ship that literally nobody ships (including myself!). i can't like em romantically, only enjoy the dynamic, but it's so fun to think about. like spy x spy but worse.

and finally stuff that i don't like

no real reason for sang/yu, i just don't see em that way. i'm too novel-only to like wen qing/jc.

LWJ/anyone else feels too much like blasphemy. similar to shipping hua cheng tgcf with people who aren't xie lian LOL

this is like peak pair the spares to me. they're literally coworkers. they're just two people who lead clans and only talk business with each other. they aren't friends, they don't even make smalltalk. their relationship is the equivalent of sometimes bumping into a linkedin connection at the grocery store. come on. COME ON. they have zero personal ties except for the fact that their brothers are deeply in love and have a torrid romance spanning decades

for lxc especially this just feels like such a weak ship to me bc you have TWO whole other people he has fascinating, actually existing dynamics with (nmj and jgy), and xi/yao especially has so so so many parallels to wang/xian. 3zun ships have so much angst and what-ifs and there's so much more meat to it.

see also my thing about jc just... honestly i cannot see him romantically working out with anyone. nobody. whatsoever. this is a man for whom romance is not the solution, ever

so i can't. it literally drives me crazy. i cannot make sense out of xi/cheng whatsoever it doesn't compel me one bit and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say i hate it when there are other ships right there ahahahghdskljfdslk

Totally!! I was feeling pretty out of it for a few days, but let me catch up on the last few asks real quick :D

Ship that needs more love: 💖

Hmm..... I feel like there's going to be a certain amount of overlap between my misunderstood ships and the ones that need more love, but I refuse to check if I'm repeating myself!! The first one that came to mind was definitely Jiang Cheng/Wen Ning. There's just so much hilarious/tragic potential in there. They've both lost so much, have so much pettiness inside them, and have an overlapping favorite person from their childhoods. And now that they're adults, their favorite children tend to run in the same pack! I love the mxtx ships, I really do, but I adore a good enemies to lovers narrative, and this is just OVERFLOWING with potential.

Who else. Mu Qing and Xie Lian deserve more love, that's for sure. And I'm going to say Mu Qing and Hua Cheng too, and maybe even as a triad if you're feeling adventurous. Mu Qing and his relationship to Xie Lian in general deserves more love, whether that's explored through Xie Lian himself or through other people who are also deeply emotionally invested in Xie Lian. I've never really clicked with him and Feng Xin, and they honestly could have probably made it onto my misunderstood ship list, but that's one where I'm less interested in finding the angle I like best for a pair and more interested in alternate avenues for exploration.

Also, you know what? Shout out to Cui Buqu and Feng Xiao. Peerless is so good, you guys. I forgot how amazing these two were. Peerless isn't my favorite cnovel, but these two might be my favorite ship. It's tough competition, but they're at least in the top five.

And.... oh, star wars. With the caveat that I've read almost zero expanded universe books, I could say that almost every not-central-to-movie-plot ship deserves more love. And I know some of these have received fandom love, but deserve MORE. Like stormpilopt. Or luke/han. And clone wars is just overflowing with these things, but shout-out to jesse and kix, who are such obvious candidates for 'old married couple', and also echo and crosshair, and mumblemumbleneyoandkeeli, which i still can't explain.

Clone ships in general deserve more love. Reader inserts and I will never get along, and since I write in second person pov, for actual characters, y/n fic is intensely jarring for me. But they have their place! Live and let live! I don't have to like something for it to earn the right to exist. But reader, I have never been so disappointed as when I tried to go scope out ao3 for clone wars and the bad batch, and even after applying all the filters I could, the results were DOMINATED by character/reader. I was so sad. You have no idea. Hordes of characters in a space war, shipped mainly with other characters in the space war where i can parse the emotional sense that the relationship makes. There's so much interesting emotional potential baked into the setting, and none of it clicks for me when I'm supposed to be inserting myself into the setting, and it makes me so sad.

Ship that you find cute but don’t ship: ✌

This....... this is a tough one XD Oh boy. Let me see what I can come up with.

I'm not super moved by fengqing, I guess that's one. In theory, the dynamic is appealing! The characters have fun personalities! But I have petty thoughts about the dominant depictions of them that I saw in fic, and haven't been interested enough to dig for characterization I jived with. Lan Xichen and Jiang Cheng are another one. I wanted to like them, but I couldn't find a satisfying way to bring them together and convince them to be invested.

Jiang Cheng and Liu Qingge has a lot of aesthetic appeal, but crossing universes to ship the lonely sadboys feels extra like pairing the spares, which is already a vibe that tends to depress me, so I was never able to get deeper than admiring the art. Liu Qingge and Yue Qingyuan depresses me the same way, especially when they're both so emotionally devoted to (some version of) Shen Qingqiu. My urge to make sure everyone is loved and happy tends to clash sharply with the perception that some characters are ""leftovers"" that i'm trying to use up. This is an issue I have with shipping my faves in mxtx books XDDD

Obi-wan and Satine is a ship that kind of bemuses me, because of my lack of exposure to non-movie content. I get that it's THERE, I get that it's relevant plot-wise, but I don't feel am emotional hook. Tup and Dogma, I think. I get why they're often a pair, but I met them through fic, where they weren't introduced so much together, and they established themselves independently enough in my heart that I have trouble resolving their personalities into a ship. Oh, Luke and Din Djarin. I still haven't watched the show and fell head-first into bobadin, so while it's cute, I don't quite FEEL it. Ahhhhhh, one last one, Fox and Wolffe. Love them both individually, can't help squinting suspiciously at the ship like ..........are you just shipping them because they both have animal names??
