SPOILERS for 2.2 and Aventurine's message

So his stone was completely destroyed, and the IPC knows about it. I've also got the feeling that he wanted to free himself from the IPC. So why, at the end of 2.2, does he act as if most of 2.1 didn't happen? I mean, why would he expect a rise from Diamond? He clearly still has full support of the IPC too.

Can you even be Aventurine the Stoneheart without aventurine the stone? Is Diamond going to give him a new one? 

I hope he's up to something. Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense.

I'm also a bit confused about this. Didn't it all happen exactly according to his plan? How was it foiled?

i'm so bitter about the flashback scene of the conversation between zo and his mom after she found out about what went down with puen. (as a caveat, i recognize that we don't have confirmation that she knows 100% of everything that happened between zo and puen, just that they had a fight. but i've seen enough conversations like this in my life to be angry now and apologize later when i'm likely proven wrong about her.)

he's tried so hard to do everything right, but he's queer, and there's no coming back from that. no matter what he does, he's never going to be her perfect little boy again. he hopes that if he wins the debate competition (a dream we thought was his own but is instead his mother's), he can be that perfect son in her eyes again.

zo's real dream is for his mother to be proud of him again, to look at him like she used to. for years, he's had to watch as she fawns over students she sees as more successful than him and numb himself to her criticism ('i'm used to it'). tellingly, he decides to hide his relationship with joke until after the debate competition is over, assuming he wins.

because maybe a trophy will be enough of a consolation prize for her to accept the fact that her "goody two-shoes" son likes men.

Can we take a moment to appreciate that Zo recognised that Nita was uncomfortable with they way Zo tried to engage with her on their not a date date? It often seems as though when one of our main leads is trying to pursue a girl before realising he is in love with his male friend, they are oblivious to what the girl actually wants. Rain in LITA continued to pursue his female classmate despite the constant rejection. Noey in I Will Knock You was persistent with Pam. Even Kawi in Be My Favorite kept on pursuing Pear up until the point he realised Pisaeng was the one that made him happy. Yet here, Zo tries to have one on one time with his female crush, and immediately senses that she wasn’t comfortable with his behavior. Although he is having doubts next week, I think the fact that he knows now that Nita doesn’t feel for Zo the way he does, will mean he won’t try to force something between them that isn’t there.
