My thoughts on the Sugar Act

Hello everyone! It’s your local Boston patriot! Sorry for not posting for a while, ha. Anyways, things have been pretty rough for us folks over in America. Lately, the Brits have been in a whole crap load of debt and they’ve been giving us problems for it, like charging an extra tax on sugar! Which is pretty sucky honestly. I’m a baker myself, and I need sugar to bake bread, cakes, and all that kind of stuff. How do they expect me to make any money?! Do they think I can make a bag of sugar last a week of something?! No! I can’t! How else am I going to sweeten my dishes??? It’s already been a month since they started this and I’m practically making nothing!! Truthfully, this is pretty stupid. They don’t even have any American representation in the British Parliament! Like my fellow colonists have been saying, “No taxation with representation”, am I right? Even if we’re ignoring my career, how am I supposed to sweeten my tea?? This is nonsense! I know I’ll lose money, but I’m going to boycott this greedy act! Ugh. Idk I'm just gonna rant here. Dusky is very much anti-capitalism. I'm also Trans and suffering as our country turns on people like me instead of the rich A-holes who are the source of literally ALL of our financial problems.

It's systematic and deep rooted. I worked at a Marco's Pizza for a bit as a shift leader and for a while I'd let the staff take home any food that wasn't picked up. And then the owners said "nope gotta pay, toss it". To which we then just took the food out to the dump and still put it on our cars. Like. The fuck is wrong with our society that during covid all we got was a free 1 topping medium pizza.

I'm fortunate in that I've avoided debt all my life. I've skipped out on going to a good college, major purchases and trips, and so much more.

Eat the rich. No taxation without representation. The people of the world are going on strike and America should do the same. Fuck the rich, fuck the politicians, we the people outnumber all of them. We the people just wanna live our lives. You think there is freedom in America? It's slavery. Stop working and see how they treat you. Break your arm and see how they treat you. Burn out and see how they treat you. We could house every homeless person in America but for some reason, their drug use prevents us from having empathy. Fuck you America, this isn't what we stand for. This is dystopia. Go left, go right. We are the only species that needs a lunch token.

I voted, but please know this election I basically can only vote for issues that impact my local life. Myself, along with 4 million, do not have representation in Congress. We have delegates and shadow senators and representatives despite paying federal income tax.
