0:53 Yesss glad you caught that!!!! its a reference to my DD2022 art; I decided to put it in the animatic because I think its one of my best works. HAVE to immortalise that

0:58 Heehee :3 I had so much fun making that move!! Originally it was supposed to be still but I had the thought of "hey now that ive learned keyframes I wonder what else i can do" so that was the result :)

2:58 thanks!! I had so much fun designing them, especially the blue eyed one! Initially I forgot Stoker described her as "fair" but hm I guess you can close 2 eyes and it could be interpreted by the "beauty" meaning of "fair", rather than skin... I also genuinely forgot black people don't usually have blue eyes blonde hair but hey! Theyre vampires. No point quibbling about ""realism"" or whatever

Also hehe yep the Art/Seward was purposeful. I love this song because it brings me so much nostalgia as the opening theme for a local tv drama. Very glad to have made it part of this animatic. Thank you for the enthusiastic dissection of this passion project aaa Ill treasure this response.

our uni held an art jam, so i got to try my hand at painting! quite fun even if half the time was spent panicking over the values

This post has been rotating in my mind since last year's DracDaily run so I had to make a short lil animatic!

Once again, we see the succinct power of the Demeter section and the punch it delivers with so little description. We scarcely know anyone’s name, but we still know their danger, we know what the captain now sits on the ship with–his terror, his fatigued devotion to duty, and the undead monster man himself. We know the log has gone into a bottle for safekeeping. He can’t write with bound hands on the helm.

And now, we get to wonder: what does Dracula do with this, an empty ship and the last (barely) living morsel aboard? I imagine he now constantly walks abroad. Idling. Chatting. Thanking the captain so kindly for the fine cuisine on his cruise. Maybe he feigns ignorance over whether he was thoughtful enough to snap the men’s necks before he dumped the corpses overboard or if, silly him, he forgot to gift them euthanasia and they are now all waterlogged undead, stalking along the ocean floor, gnawing sea life as they trudge in search of a shore. 

Because Dracula being Dracula, he won’t resist a good slow knife twist when it’s down to a one-on-one intimate sadism session. 

Oh captain, my captain, you sound like a good man. Like everyone else in the Count’s path, you don’t deserve what comes next.

DRAWING ROOM - The Westenra house is furnished pleasantly, as you would expect of well-to-do family like theirs. Mrs. Westenra had pointed out the antiques in the drawing room with pride, before excusing herself for other matters. Leaving you and Miss Westenra alone.

Sounds of servants bustling about seep through even the thick wooden doors. You are reminded of how close it is to lunchtime. You are also reminded that this makes your continued presence even more obstrusive.

Noises of clinking cutlery disturb the otherwise increasingly strained silence between the two of you.

LUCY WESTENRA - "Dr. Seward?" The concern in her voice cuts through your thoughts. She busies herself by smoothing down her skirts, allowing you to come out of the anxious state you've worked yourself into.

YOU - Obstrusive? No, the lovely Miss Westenra could never be so unhospitable. To think of her as such would be to insult her.

PROFESSOR'S PET - Regardless friend John, I suggest that you act soon.

1. - "Apologies Miss Westenra." (Sit on your hat.)

2. - [REACTION SPEED: Challenging] (-1 Not very cool) "Apologies Miss Westenra." (DON'T sit on your hat.)
