i dont have too much of a problem with lucys Sagittarius dress but it bothers me how it looks,, nothing like sagittarius, now neither does mine and thats cuz i really hate his canon look so i have a redesgin of him in my mind that only i can see oop

anyway, aside from that i just based most of the design on actual traditional archery uniforms (if i did more resrearch i could probably make it more fun but also it kinda tracks with sagittarius’ more strict personality) ull also see that i made her “skirt” into a hakama and i also made her chest guard go under her gi 

aight for capricorn im sorry i dont understand it, ik its meant to play into likea spy?? theme??? i think?? but the cut of the dress and the patterning on it just?? dont communicate that to me??? idk so i went for a more modern femfatel or cat burglar look bc i can and will make lucy cute and sexy. also i feel like the one braid better ties to look like caps tail, the purple thingy ontop of the leatard is meant to resemble that weird half suit cap wear bc i think its cute and dumb lol, plus i felt like i had to include the purple at least a lil

Ep 2 is here now and I gotta say, the fact that Lata just finds all things monster fascinating is my fav thing cuz that is just me. Her playing with the jaw of the zombie was adorable and I wish i could've done the same. Carlos finding it disturbing just added to the charm of the whole scene.

Millie immediately yelling at John before he even got the chance to exit the car was oof, big oof. Mainly cuz it reminded me of my own mother's control tendencies. And because of that, I also tend to try and understand her point: admittedly John could've died and she wouldn't have know anything til after the fact. I get that fear, especially after the 2 years of no contact and likely a not good break before that with John at war. But fuck if she didn't just make it way harder for John to ever try bridging that gap or learning actual skills on dealing with conplex shit like that because she was just unreasonable about it all and taking it out on him. And the fact that La Tunda is actually calm when talking to John later is sooo interesting. I can't say she was nicer than Millie, cuz she wasn't but it def counts as another of those [insert crowley here saying :so my demons were too polite?] moments. I just found it all soo interesting and I have to add thay sadly her story at the end of the episode where she tells John about her and Henry's dealing with arguements doesnt actually help her case too much because of how she reacted initially. All thay teaches John is that he can take out his fear on others and then smooth it over with an "ull understand when ure older/had kids/been through similar shit" she is somply not constructive at all. But it a bit of an improvement because she, i believe, meant it as an explanation and apology despite it sounding as an excuse to me.

John being clearly not a pro at hunting or even just the type of fighting style hunting requires (and especially with a group of hunters) sent me. It's soo good. And it just makes me think of SPN!John learning to hunt and with the trauma of Mary's death it suddenly seems like even more reasons he didn't engage with a hunter's network. He just isn't a team player in that sense, he's too hyperfocused on his own fight that he loses sight of anyone else, and more than that, he had to have learned to adjust the fighting style he'd known to something that would work for hunting. It was basically ego and refusal to change, surpise surprise. TW!John tho keeps trying even after he fucks up, and while Im sure the constatly getting splashed with monster guts isnt fun, he doesn't have the same hang ups about not being perceived as indestructible. He essentially rolls with the punches and learns and is allowed to have flaws on display. Its not the pedestal SPN!John is put and puts himself on.

Mary's bullheadedness is absolutely fantastic in an extremely frustrating way. She is so fixated on getting through the case as fast as possible so she can get back to finding her dad that I actually got some season 1 Sam vibes from her this episode. I will say I find it soo interesting we got a John focus, cuz we all know the Cambells aren't that off for La Tunda to go for. Carlos giving her a pep talk about it and also admonishing her for her behaviour is def deserved and just top notch friendship tbh. As is the Cabaret gag with Mary, Carlos and Lata. It shows in a small but important way that these 3 def have a history and it's a long and intricate one. And u see even more later after John gets taken. It's in the way they talk to each other even in a high stress situation. Also Mary ackowledging she fucked up and thanking Caelos at the end... ughhhh I love growth.

Ada get to show off a bit more in this one, her scrying was genuinely sooo good, like this episode does a fantastic job of making you ask yourself what is actually up with Ada, whats her deal?? Because on the one hand, she recognized the flower off the top of her head and helped Lata instantly, on the other hand the way the scrying was shot was almost unnearving. And im not sure if it's cuz spn got me/us used to seeing scrying done by villains or as a subterfuge tactic or what, but yea, it added another air of mystery to Ada. And then u you have her conversation with Millie which has a hell of a ripple effect cuz I genuinely believe it's that converation that led to her actually trying with John at the end a bit. It's not solving anything broken there yet, but it does help. And adding ehat we know of about Ada's past to this makes me cry cuz shes just trying to prevent Millie from making the same mistake she had basically.

Carlos was more mediator this episode. Between the Lata and Carlos show (as per usual their friendship is everything to me) and seeing the complexity of that relationship as it stands and their dynamic with each other, to lecturing Mary on her behaviour, to just being highly competent at the job overall. Like they might not have done too much in the foreground, but damn if it wasn't a shitton of background work there. You can tell here that for all the "Im a solo act " bravado, Carlos is actually very much a team player and it's due to the emotional inteligence they have thats on full display here, in their usual jokey manner of course, that thats the case.

Aaaannd we get the 1st mention of Betty in this. I won't touch on that in this one but I like Betty a lot.

The end of this episode is my fav thing. Because it's pizza and joking and hanging out beside having the plot move forward once Ada brings up what shes been up to this episode. And still the focus isn't on the demon memories, but on them bonding. Uhhhh I love it.

We also have the 1st glimpse of the Akrida and if you were skulking around here when the show was airing in autumn u know I think the Akrida are adorable and I want a plushy with them. So the pure joy the shot of who we now know is likely Roxy with all them little critters around gave me cannot be overstated.

This ep def is much better paced than the Pilot, and also just lays clear the main there of this show, which is intergenerational trauma. It literally slaps u with it, it's front and centre and will continue to be shown in its many varried forms as the show progressed and I fucking love it for that because ultimately that is what Dean is doing here, beside once more saving the world. He is like i said, woeking through his own intergenerational trauma through these young versions of his parents that haven't yet had more trauma pilled onto them.

First off having the village that will eventually be raided as the prologue in a way and showing how Grisha are viewed when Aleksander was growing up is a very interesting way to open the setting. The fact that there’s people that live in it as well. Like you actually see them living there. That last line as well, how the kid says it so casually. Also that sense of foreboding I got when reading this cause of what happens at the end and it’s only the beginning.

Having her say this quote AFTER he comes back from meeting Annika and standing up to Lev using his power is great because it just gives me more insight on why Baghra hated Aleksander serving monarchies and using the fold. He’s not only showing the full extent of what he can do, he’s practically flaunting it in their enemies faces. I think in her eyes he’s just painting a giant target on both of their backs because causing TOO much fear draws more enemies and more attention to oneself which is what she doesn’t want.

“Alright I got the snacks!” You place it on the coffee table and sit down in the middle of your boys. You unpause the movie and cuddle up to your boys. Seth grabs one of the cinnamon rolls you made and you grab some of your favorite candy al brought home from his shop. As the movie goes on you notice alphonse haven’t even touched the snack tray you brought out.

“Al sweetie are you sure your ok you’ve barley touched the snacks and I know you have a sweet tooth.”

“Boo I promise Iam fine Iam just not tha-“

“BULLSHIT you wouldn’t refuse a piece of Cindy if your life depended on it!” Seth says while grabbing another cinnamon roll. You grab Al’s and give him a squeeze of reassurance.

“Alphonse if there’s something bothering you you can tell us.” You can tell by his face that something was bothering him. You pause the movie and turn towards him. Seth gets up and goes to the other side of Al.

“Alphonse there’s something clearly wrong .”

Throughout half of my work shift I was thinking about just how fucked up the trauma that Rick has been enduring really is and what processing that could possibly look like??

Like, it starts with Prime Rick offering him portal tech, the infinite multiverse, and being practically hailed as a god. Rick says no and Prime Rick for whatever reason murders the love of his life(Diane) and his young daughter(Beth) in retaliation. He is immediately ENRAGED, builds the quickest bs functioning portal gun he can throw together on pure adrenaline and goes on a 40 YEAR LONG REVENGE QUEST TO KILL THE GUY AND AVENGE HIS FAMILY!

He closes himself off to most of the world(mentally), solely focused on his revenge quest and nothing else. But since the multiverse is literally INFINITE and Prime Rick could be anywhere he decides to just starting killing any Rick he sees until he kills the right guy. This is a big part of his unending self-hatred.

Somewhere in his later 20′s-30′s he gets a high at a party and makes a friend named BirdPerson/BP. They eventually end up fighting together in the constant war against the Galactic Federation. After they start to turn the tide of the war, Rick confesses to caring about BP, even going so far to share the fact that he has multiversal travel and even admits to caring about HIM specifically and asking him to come travel with him. Everywhere, anywhere. It is also VERY obvious that he has a crush on BP and is confessing them through this action. Showing him the thing that started him on his current path, the thing that could be used to represent his trauma too. The first time he’s been open, emotional, vulnerable with another person since he lost his family and he’s rejected. (and you know, that happens. People don’t like you back sometime but it meant a lot and still does if he shows emotion around a person instead of his go to apathy)

Time continues marching forward and the killer isn’t found. by this he’s killed so many Ricks that he’s literally considered a threat to ALL ricks in the area and they beg to make a peace treaty so that’ll he stop killing them. He agrees and stops fighting them. But he still doesn’t have the guy. Drunk and empty he can only think of one last ditch effort to catch the guy; stake out his reality and hope he comes back.

Somewhere in that time he creates an ai that speaks in the voice of his dead wife to always remind himself of what he did to the ones he cares about and to fuel his revenge quest.He basically creates it to haunt himself. On top of all that, he’s developed a crippling alcohol problem, a general distance from any amount of expressing his feelings or attachment(after all, multiverse are infinite so what’s the point in caring anyways?) to/for others. The trauma accompanied by his experiences in the multiverse and BP’s rejection of his love push him to stop caring. To become apathetic to everything and everyone. to reject feelings and REAL connection because he and/or the people he loves will get hurt for it.

And that’s all before the show even starts!

After the show starts he meets up with one of his old flings, Unity. A wonderful hive mind that he finds himself able to open up to and become comfortable with. Is it only possible because he’s drunk and doing god knows what intergalactic drugs the entire time? Yes. but that’s just how bad it is at that point. He can only be open with others when he’s drowning in all his bad habits. He ends up ulling her down with him and she breaks it off because:

Female President: Rick, forgive me for doing this in notes; I’m not strong enough to do it in persons.

Delivery Guy: I realize now that I’m attracted to you for the same reason I can’t be with you: you can’t change.

Beggar: And I have no problem with that, but it clearly means I have a problem with myself.

Female President (again): But I know how it goes with us. I lose who I am and become part of you. Because in a strange way, you’re better at what I do without even trying.

Thsi causes him to have his first BIG suicide attempt in the series. The attempts only increase as time goes on. Egging on Morty into killing him, throwing himself into deadly situations quietly hoping that he’ll finally be killed by rushing into a fight he wasn’t prepared enough for, and on and on it goes.

He even views loving someone else the way he cared for his wife, BP, his kid, his grandson as “irrational” and is happy to be rid of them!

All of this to say, what does moving on look like for someone that spent literally decades like this? Obviously it would start with being nicer to others and allowing himself to be open again but what else? It’d be a long and frustrating process. He’d need to lessen his use of drugs and alcohol despite those things being his go to painkillers for feelings, and somehow he’d also have to stop blaming himself for the death of his original family and except that it’s okay to move on from them, from the revenge quest....even though he’s said he doesn’t want to.

Like, I know he’s still a huge piece of shit and treats people like dirt to feel some sense of control and keep himself detached as much as possible(NOTHING excuses the way he treats others and I never want to excuse that) but like god it’s really gonna take a lot to move on.
