y do i feel u would plan a trip to japan exclusively to ride the shinkansen from n to s?

I've been planning a trip to Japan that involves cross-country travel since I was a child, but the reason why might surprise people who don't know me very well.

I actually want to try to visit all twelve Nippon Professional Baseball stadiums in one big swing. This would involve use of the Shinkansen - and indeed, I'd make sure to book the E5/H5 to get me up to Hokkaido for the Fighters' stadium in Sapporo - but the trip would primarily be about baseball and experiencing it in a different way than I get to experience it in the US. I'd also love to see the notorious Colonel Sanders statue that was thrown into the Dōtonbori Canal, as that's one of my favorite weird baseball stories. I've wanted to do this since I was around 12 or so; I want to see Japan through baseball, something not many tourists seem to do. Along the way I'd stop at relevant historical sites, and although there isn't a team there Kyoto would be a must-visit, if only to go see Squid Research Lab HQ Nintendo's headquarters building from the outside.

I'd visit regional Pokemon Centers when possible and take a little time off to take a train out of Osaka and visit Tama's station, of course, but the focus of the trip would be baseball, and the fact that public transportation in Japan is good enough for me to do this with ease is just...it frustrates me, because I'm also trying to do all 30 MLB stadiums here in the US, and it's a lot harder and more expensive to get around for obvious reasons. But it's also exciting to dream about.

And maybe I'd stop at the Maglev museum, or other railway museums in Japan to see a C62 or a D51 in person, just because.

Kiyomiya hit the Sayonara Home Run for Pacific League at the bottom 9th of Day-1 match!

and Yanagita also hit winning Solo Home Run of Day-2 match!

They both deserve to be MVPs!!!

You shouldn't have gotten your hopes up with the idea of Yoshinobu Yamamoto signing with the Cubbies... -_- as far as you knew, it probably wasn't going to happen if the contract went north of USD 300,000,000.

Especially if I am one of many who is slightly disappointed that the Cubs efforts are "quiet on the western front".

I know we have bad experiences with big contracts but isn't the point of certain contracts also about taking risks?

Otherwise, this makes me hate the Mets even more... not because they have the money, it's because they as well as their counterparts "The Bronx Bombers" hog the good players :-(

Life goes on...

Even if the Trolls of Flushing New York have to have the biggest resources.

Maybe things will get better with the Imonga guy coming to the States?

We'll see what happens...
