How to make Banana Bread in a pressure cooker - Times of India
Ever since the lockdown started and people had no other option but to manage the kitchen on their own, social media channels are flooded with recipes. From basic cooking to innovative plating, people are trying everything to feel good. In this change, the second week of lockdown saw a sudden spike of #breadbaking. Wondering why? Well, according to food experts, baking your own bread gives a sense of self-reliance. In India, baking is considered as a tricky game and that’s why people are trying to take this challenge to soothe the nerves.
As we observed, from Bollywood celebs to nutritionsits, everyone is busy trying their hands on making bread. Recently, Ali Bhatt also shared her Banana Bread recipe on Instagram.
So, if you are also the one who feels making your own bread is a tough deal to crack, we have got an easy method to make the most popular Banana Bread recipe that you can make even in your pressure cooker. Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients: Banana, 4 Baking Powder, 1 tbsp Baking Soda, ½ tsp Wheat Flour, 1 1/2 cup Almonds, chopped, 2 tbsp Salt, 1 pinch Vanilla Essence, 1 tsp Sugar, ½ cup
Method: 1. First of all, take a deep mixing bowl and mash the bananas, until they become a thick paste.
2. Now, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence and 1/2 cup of sugar. Mix it well. Keep the bowl aside.
3. Take a fresh bowl and pour 1 and a half cup wheat flour and add all the dry ingredients including baking soda, baking powder. Mix all the ingredients gently. Then add 2 tablespoons of roughly chopped almonds.
4. Mix all the dry and wet ingredients together. Grease the baking tin with butter or parchments paper and pour the batter.
5. Pre-heat a pressure cooker for 15 minutes and then the baking tin and cover the lid. Cook it for a good 40-50 minutes while it releases the pressure naturally. Use the toothpick trick to check if bread is cooked evenly. Allow the bread to cool down. Serve hot with coffee or tea!
Tips to remember: Always use measuring cups for adding ingredients, as a slight change in quantity can hinder the rising of bread properly, especially while baking in a pressure cooker.

Today I can say that I love how exactly how I am right now, but babe it wasn't always that way! It wasn't so long ago that my body, soul and mind were fighting each other. I was often angry and my needs were spilling out all over the place. An obese girl on her way to losing her extra weight. Not easy! Several times I hit the wall, thinking I couldn't carry on with all my many insecurities. Comments, critics! Relationships destroyed because I was not happy with them touching me. But then one day, I made a commitment. I promised myself to give it a go. Meditate, eat well and of course exercise. Just to try to see how I felt day to day. From obese to eating disorders... but at the end everything is ok. And if it's not ok now, it’s because it’s not the end yet. And it was really hard work! But little by little things started working out. It started to well, so well; really well. I’m no longer unhappy in my own skin. I found the key to a healthy lifestyle.
