I cannot understand how René Ceballos's Cassandra is not more popular on here. There has never been a more cryptid queen. Not to mention René is simply gorgeous even out of Cats makeup. She deserves some love.

Bestie, have you ever really looked at OBC Cassandra? Like really looked? The cryptid energy is off the charts! Every picture screams gorgeous Mortica Addams-esqe energy. This cat should be the fandom's Halloween Queen.

And the actress! Rene Ceballos has the most captivating eyes!

Favorite Cassandra design?

i really like a slinky cass and im kind of obsessed with how slinky obc cass is

also really like cassandras with stripes,, dont know what it is about them but i think they look really neat so paris 89 gets a kiss

ALSO love it when she has a gradient on her limbs, looks really nice and adds a bit of something to her minimalist design!

i have a soft spot for the recent international tour because its the only cats ive seen live but i do love her ears there :)

I saw CATS the musical live for the first time and BOY did I get emotional (until now and I had only known the 1998 movie and OBC recording). Under the read more because this got longer than I anticipated

I forgot that depending on the country, the cats have different names. Like, who the FUCK is Sillabub and why is she not Jemima???

The lighting for this tour is spectacular? The flickering cat eyes during the overture, the purples and dramatic lighting was FANTASTIC

I am (jokingly) Munkustrap kin and I thought he could've been in it more.

Cassandra could have been more sultry-sounding.

Coricopat and Tantomile were sometimes not 100% together and it was Distracting to me.

Do I find Rum Tum Tugger hot? Uncertain. Did he know how to work a crowd? Absolutely.

Also Rum Tum Tugger by the end showing that he really is a big sweetheart underneath the cockiness (being genuinely excited to see Old Deuteronomy when his boyfriend Mistoffeles got him back, even if he pretended to take credit at first).

CATS polycule is real to me

There were some lyric changes throughout that took me by surprise (an added verse in Gumbie Cat that I hadn't heard before, and in Pekes and the Pollicles that I am so glad they did)

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer's double cartwheel looked clunky to me? Still very well done just not as smooth as it could have been

The cats actively antagonizing Grizabella (pretending to be friendly then scratching/hissing at her) was SO interesting to see that changes the ending for me (it gives off almost a mob mentality)

They took out the cat orgy which in the moment I was very grateful for because I did NOT want to have to explain that to my 12-year-old sister

The replaced Growltiger with Pekes and the Pollicles where Gus the Theatre Cat reprised his role as The Great Rumpus Cat (where he did most of the narrating/"directing" versus Munkustrap). Gus also had shown up to the Jellicle Ball and I was like "bruh you're Early"

The Macavity fight scene could also have been More. I wanted lifts, I wanted scratching, I wanted more of them to get involved than like, the 3 I remember (Munkustrap, Demeter, and Alonzo).

This was the first time I had seen Mistoffeles' coat light up as different colors. Also Cassandra' white patch lit up different colors. MLM/WLW solidarity

Grizabella really said "I'm only going to be in this show for 10 minutes but it WILL be the best 10 minutes you've ever seen." And she was right.

Overall, this was a VERY good production and I'm glad I got to see it

I'm listening to the OBC version of Cats (again) and I'm learning you hear something new everytime you listen to it.

So I'm at the part of Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats where everyone says their part and I get to Cassandra.

Her line (like always) is "Where you there when the Pharoahs commissioned the Sphinx?" And I hear am oboe playing a theme (I forget the specific name for the music term at the moment) that's Egyptian.

It's a really quick and you'll miss it but I had really do a double take. Thankfully I was had headphones on too.

what your favorite makeup designs for the cats?

I've been waiting for a question like this because I have Opinions. when it comes to makeup, I'm absolutely in love with the Mexico, Hamburg, and original B'way designs. I feel like a lot of replica productions have the tendency to skimp on certain characters, like Bomba, Tugger, Demeter, and others... but these productions tend to be the opposite, instead favoring going all-out with colors and bold linework!

1. So, so very gay. He will kiss a girl for comedic purposes but that's about it.

2. Tuggoffelees!

3. Tugger and Munk, Tugger and Demeter, Tugger and Teazer. Tugger and Bomba as well, but that feels Very obvious to me so I focus on other friendships of his in my thoughts and work.

4. Tugger/Bomba. No. Absolutely not. Turns my stomach. Also obviously any gross shit.

5. Since the kittens already love Tugger he gets kittensitting duty A Lot. He doesn't mind it, they're adorable and he gets to teach them life lessons parents want to believe they don'tneed to learn (how to stay safe while being irresponsible).

6. "His numerous progeny prospers and thrives, and the village is proud of him in his decline." He sings it with so much love!!!!!

7. I too am an attention whore, and I am not straight (nor cis which Tugger is not either fucking fight me)

8. It's like... third hand embarrassment but... Etcetera. She probably makes him hard to take seriously sometimes.

MUNK

1. Bi. (Or pan I guess take your pick. Toms, queens, and anything in between.) (This also feels like a good place to point out I default to Trans Woman Munk because I love her very much and she deserves the world! I get that's not a wavelength most people are on tho)

2. Demebombastrap. Also a sucker for Munk/a well deserved day of rest.

3. Munk and Tugger, Munk and Misto, and Munk and Jenny!

4. Don't really have any, besides the obvious "anything incest-y or with a gross age gap". Idk I saw a Munk/Teazer thing once and I have to say I am not about that.

5. Resents Grizabella more for leaving Tugger than for leaving him, since by the time she was gone he could feed himself and communicate and had other trusted adults, whereas Tugger was a newborn. Munk still really misses her and wouldn't be so angry if she hadn't left one of her kittens basically for dead.

6. "Are you blind when you're born?" It's a very striking opening to the show, it hooks the audience in very well.

7. I love my family so so much (both my biological family and the family I've chosen) and I would do anything for them

2. Hhhh I don't really put much into shipping her. She and Alonzo are cute though!

4. Again, I don't really think about her relationships one way or the other... Cass/Tugger I guess, I've seen some of that and it's really not up my alley, for a number of reasons.

5. She can be pretty blunt but barring Old D she gives some of the best advice in the Junkyard, since she's very levelheaded. She hears and helps solve a lot of problems. But it's kind of her thing, she enjoys it.

7. Sleek brown hair I guess. (I kinda don't lmao that's why she gets so little of my attention I'm sorry Cass I love you)

But since I have so little to say about her I Will say- I have a friend named Cassandra so that makes thinking/writing about her a bit weird... it always feels a bit like I'm talking about my friend. that's why I call her Cass, it's a nickname I've never used for that friend!
