This exchange was created to encourage fanfics and fanart focusing on Obi-Wan Kenobi in a positive way that isn’t dependent upon ships or smut. 

When is this happening?

The 2024 schedule is as follows:

Sign-ups: 01 June - 15 June

Assignments sent out: 22 June

Assignments due: 31 August (No fault deadline: 17 Aug.)

Work Reveals: 07 September

Who can participate?

Since this is hosted on AO3, anyone with a registered account! Need an AO3 account? No problem - just send a message here and one of the moderators will handle invitations.

How can I participate?

The tag set nominations will open on the 18th, and will be open to anyone.

There’s also signing up for a recipient, in which you can request fics from the tag set. Treating, pinch-hitting, and beta reading are options, too!

Snippet: 

“Problems with your padawan, you are having?”

“No. Yes! I mean…”

“Your mind, speak, young Kenobi.”

Obi-Wan paces back and forth for a moment as if making up his mind. He plops himself down on the ground in a way that is indicative of both his youth and his frustration.

And all at once, Obi-Wan’s grievances spill out of him.

“He just doesn’t listen!” Obi-Wan exclaims. “It’s like he doesn’t even hear me half the time. I try and I try and I try and I still can’t get him to pay attention. He cares not for meditation or for most of his studies save his science and engineering classes, thank the Force. He’s willful and rogue and so emotional.”

“A hard time in his classes he is having?”

“No, not in that way. He is very smart. Too smart. I think he is bored in his classes. But he needs to learn the fundamentals first.”

“Indeed, intelligent he is. Unfamiliar with the life of a Jedi, Anakin is.”

“I understand he is not used to life here, but I’m trying to change that. He simply will not let me.”

“Unaccustomed to structure, the boy is. Structure, the boy needs. Yes?”

“Yes! And I’m trying to give him structure. Order. Routine. All he does is reject it.”

“Hmmm,” Yoda hums. “Uptight, you are.”

Obi-Wan scoffs. “I am not uptight!”

Writing for exchanges be like

*wanting to be done early to avoid stress*

Crunches fic from bunch of notes in one crazy ass writing session over an entire day, plonks 4k polished fic on beta's lap.

Being like - Wow, it's midnight? I skipped lunch? And dinner??

Except it's like smoking the fic. A good old writing high.

Beta does miraculous one sitting edit, pushes through tagging and summary with me... Glorious high of pressing the Post button 3 weeks early.

Realising the works are not revealed to anyone until 3 weeks later, duh, and you can't share because it's anonymous...

OKAY then.

*turns around to gen Kenobi fic due in a month*
