Radiodate.it Article:
The international success of Louis Tomlinson continues, which will see his documentary “LOUIS TOMLINSON. ALL OF THOSE VOICES”, distributed in Italian theaters on March 22 with a special preview and to follow on March 25 and 26 for a weekend dedicated to music. Pre-sales are already open and the list of theaters is published on nexodigital.it and on allofthosevoices.com, where all the most up-to-date information on the film will always be available.
With this occasion and with already over 15 million streams, the third single "Written All Over Your Face" will be promoted, taken from his album "Faith In The Future" (BMG), which entered directly into the TOP 3 of the FIMI/GfK TOP OF THE MUSIC ranking of albums and in FIRST PLACE in the ranking of best-selling VINYLS (data released by FIMI/GfK Italia).
“LOUIS TOMLINSON. ALL OF THOSE VOICES”, directed by Charlie Lightening, offers a realistic look at Louis Tomlinson’s musical journey. Eschewing the glossy effect that characterizes some celebrity documentaries, this film offers audiences an intimate, no-nonsense insight into Louis' life and career. Through never-before-seen 'home' footage and behind-the-scenes access to Louis' sold-out 2022 world tour, “Louis Tomlinson. All Of Those Voices” offers a unique perspective on what it means to be a musician in today's fast-paced world. From the highs of superstardom to the lows of personal tragedy, Louis' story is one of resilience and determination. The film explores his journey from One Direction member to solo artist, capturing the challenges and triumphs that have defined his path. Following the acclaimed release of his debut album 'Walls' and his 2022 chart-topping album 'Faith In The Future', the film shows a side of Louis fans have never seen before as he grapples with the pressures of fame and the weight of his voice.
Louis will be back on tour, with two dates also in Italy: October 8 at the Pala Alpitour in Turin and October 9 at the Unipol Arena in Bologna.

For The Summer: Hermeto Pascoal / Airto Moreira / Flora Purim
Hey, a special treat for you today — a guest post from David "Observations of Deviance" Mittleman that digs into the Hermeto Pascoal / Airto Moreira / Flora Purim universe. For more, David is a great follow in various places — Twitter, YouTube and WFMU. Take it away!
Albert Ayler proclaimed, “Music Is The Healing Force Of The Universe.” Like nothing else, the music of Brazil makes the scorching summer days tolerable and even joyous. Brazilian musical healers include “O Bruxo,” the Wizard, aka Hermeto Pascoal, and the meteoric musical couple that shot from his orbit, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. The Wizard is still going strong, living up to his sobriquet. On June 22, 2022 Pascoal celebrated his 86th birthday. Purim has also been active in 2022, releasing her first new studio album in fifteen years, which features her husband, legendary percussionist, Airto.
There is no way to capture Pascoal’s true range in a few words, but suffice it to say that he is something like Sun Ra crossed with Frank Zappa crossed with every sort of Brazilian musical style crossed with Miles Davis, with whom he recorded on “Live-Evil.” Pascoal’s live concerts are legendary. The 2004 performance I saw in Chicago remains one of the most magical events I’ve ever witnessed. Pascoal emanated bliss, love and joy. For those not lucky enough to capture the magic live, some recent reissues, and You Tube uploads, will send you into outer space.
In February, Far Out Recordings released a previously unissued Pascoal live performance from 1981, “Planetário da Gávea.” Appropriately recorded in a planetarium, the album contains everything Pascoal is known for - riotous improvisations, deep Brazilian rhythms and memorable melodies. The album’s second track, “Samba Do Belaqua,” gives you a taste of Pascoal’s sorcery.
In 1965, Pascoal and Airto teamed up with Humberto Clayber to record the Sambrasa Trio’s sole album, “Em Som Maior,” reissued in March by VampiSoul. The album has many brilliant moments, but the stand out track is “João Sem Braço.” After a brief mid-tempo introduction by the full trio, Airto breaks in with a thunderous drum clap, then the full trio breaks into full gallop. It is a tour de force of percussion ability and simpatico jazz trio improvisational communication.
Besides these official releases, the You Tube channel bigfootpegrande, has been uploading some amazing live Hermeto performances; here are just a few.
Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo / Pori Jazz Festival, Finland, July 15, 1984
The creative and technical dexterity displayed by Pascoal and group at the Pori Jazz Festival is unbelievable. Powerful and unforgettable.
Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo / Zagreb, Croatia, October 1990
More killer video. Sadly, it runs less than 20 minutes. Includes Hermeto interview in Portuguese with Croatian subtitles.
Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo / Chicago 1991
Per the video’s notes: “Epic, Wild!!” I concur.
Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo / Vienna, May 27, 2022
A very recent two hour live performance from Austria.
Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo (with Luciana Souza) / Central Park, NYC, June 21, 1997
Another rare US performance. “Opening for Hermeto was Medeski Martin and Wood. Dozens of ignorant tapers, with racks over racks and all kind of expensive mics displaying in the air, taped MMW and left when they finished. I don´t remember anyone staying [for Hermeto]."
Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo (w/ Naná Vasconcelos, Egberto Gismonti, Hugo Fattoruso) / Buenos Aires, 1981
Pascoal with other Brazilian heavyweights.
Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo / Antibes, Juan-les-Pins, France, June, 19, 1986
Pascoal and group jamming heavy in France.
Both Purim and Airto have had a long musical relationship with Pascoal. Hermeto played on both Purim and Airto’s solo albums, and the couple frequently perform Pascoal’s compositions. Purim continues this musical tradition on her new solo album, “If You Will,” released in April by Strut. A family affair, the album includes her daughter Diana Purim and husband Airto.
The album’s peaks include a new rendition of "500 Miles High,” Chick Corea’s classic jazz fusion composition, originally recorded in 1972 by Corea’s band Return to Forever, with Purim on vocals. The song’s lyrics express how listeners will feel; like everyone who hears her, they will be enraptured by her voice.
You'll see just one look and you'll know
She's so tender and warm
You'll recognize this is love
You'll find yourself on another plane
500 miles high
The bigfootpegrande You Tube channel has also uploaded several phenomenal live Airto and Purim live performances. Prime examples of her outside singing can be heard in the live performances linked below. While Purim’s remarkable vocal abilities are grounded in every phase of Jazz, she pushes the boundaries of traditional jazz into the stratosphere. Her repertoire includes an astounding array of extended vocal techniques, somewhat akin to Jazz scat singing, but far beyond what even the most adventurous Bebop artist would attempt.
Airto & Flora (feat. Hugo Fattoruso) / Boston, April 24, 1973
Incredible live performance. Includes versions of two Pascoal compositions (“Uri (The Wind)” and “O Gaio da Roseira”). The track “Xibaba” has a fire storm guitar solo from David Amaro that touches on Sonny Sharrock at its peak.
Another rare, early live performance from Airto and Purim. Includes a performance of “500 Miles High.”
Flora Purim & Airto Moreira (feat. George Duke) / Hollywood Bowl, June 16, 1979
Airto and Purium joined by legendary keyboard player George Duke. Another live version of “500 Miles High.”
Flora Purim Live at Terminal Island, March 3, 1975
As a bonus, here is one more phenomenal Flora Purim live performance. Purim was busted for coke in 1974 and spent sixteen months in a US prison. Towards the end of her incarceration, prison officials allowed Purim to bring in well known Jazz musicians to play for the inmates: Cannonball Adderley, George Duke, Airto Moreira, Miroslav Vitouš, Raul de Souza and Leon "Ndugu" Chancler.
The live prison performance was broadcast over the radio. Apparently she played one concert for the female inmates and one concert for the male inmates. Part of the performance has been uploaded to You Tube. Despite some audio flaws, it’s one of the best live from prison performances you will ever hear. Be sure to listen to the end for a short interview with Purim.
I hope the music of Pascoal, Airto and Purim brings you as much joy, healing and happiness this summer as it has brought me.
«Being involved in the realization of projects with such large scale, high complexity and global impact made me realize the importance of teamwork, commitment and perseverance in achieving the best possible result - I believe that all of those values are deeply rooted within the DNA of IWC.»
My name is Daniel and I was born and raised in Lucerne. Growing up in a city where tourism, hospitality and watchmaking are omnipresent brought a strong awareness of these three industries, which developed into a deeper fascination over the years. For this reason, I decided to pursue a higher degree in International Hospitality Management at the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne (EHL).
Due to my interest in the watch industry and IWC specifically as a brand, I applied for an internship in trade marketing and joined the company in October 2015. My duties included assisting with the organization of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie de Genève (SIHH - now Watches & Wonders) 2016, which allowed me to combine my interest and experience in hospitality with the world of watchmaking. After the successful launch of the Pilot's Collection 2016, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of Project Manager Fairs and Exhibitions, which involved managing the development and organization of the SIHH booth (now called Watches&Wonders) and coordinating IWC's global exhibition program. During almost 3 years I pursued this position and was able to contribute to the campaign launches of Da Vinci 2017, 150 Years 2018, and Silver Spitfire 2019.
After the launch of the Silver Spitfire campaign and the Pilot's Collection 2019, it was time to take on a new challenge. I moved from Trade Marketing to Corporate Communications, initially starting as Team Lead Guest Relations and later becoming the Global Events Team Lead over the course of the year. During my time in Corporate Communications, I was involved in coordinating and continuously developing manufacture tours and organized physical, digital and hybrid events, including the movie production and launch event of the Top Gun SFTI, which was one of my personal highlights. These projects brought me a lot closer to IWC’s clients, the industry’s press and various IWC stakeholder, which contribute to IWC’s brand awareness. Thus, I became aware of the importance of quality and authenticity in brand communication, while gaining my first experience in a leadership position. As a result of my achieved knowledge in building client experiences, I was able to change once again in August 2021 and take on my current role as Senior Project Manager for Flagship Boutique Experience.
With our team, we are working towards the ambitious goal of creating unique retail experiences that exceed customer expectations and define new industry standards. As a recent result, we successfully opened our new flagship boutique in Dubai Mall on 25th of March 2022, a project I am personally very proud of. Over the past six years, I have repeatedly realized and appreciated how IWC continuously drives the development and empowerment of its young generation with much responsibility, trust and vision.

Bangladesh will be boosted with the return of Shakib Al Hasan for the three-match ODI series against India. Shakib returns after having opted out of the ODI leg of the Zimbabwe tour in July-August earlier this year.
The most notable names missing are Mosaddek Hossain, Shoriful Islam and Taijul Islam. Mosaddek's poor form in the recent T20Is has cost him a place in the ODI squad. In the recently-concluded T20 World Cup, the 26-year-old scored only 38 runs in five matches an average of 9.50.
Ebadot Hossain, who made his 50-over debut in the final ODI against Zimbabwe, retains his place in the squad. Yasir Ali's form in the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League One-Day tournament has helped him find a place amongst the 16 players.
Squad: Tamim Iqbal (c), Liton Das, Anamul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Afif Hossain, Yasir Ali, Mehidy Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Mahmud Ullah, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Nurul Hasan Sohan.
India announced their squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh on 31 October and recently made changes to it after Ravindra Jadeja and youngster Yash Dayal were ruled out due to injuries.

Bobby Digital x Sizzla Kalonji – 20th Anniversary of Da Real Thing
New Post has been published on https://plugzafrica.com/bobby-digital-x-sizzla-kalonji-20th-anniversary-of-da-real-thing/
Bobby Digital x Sizzla Kalonji – 20th Anniversary of Da Real Thing
The year 2022 marks three significant album anniversaries for Reggae singjay Sizzla Kalonji.
Born Miguel Collins in 1976, Sizzla’s recording career began in 1994, 2022 is the 20th anniversary of ‘Bobby Digital’ Dixon’s Da Real Thing, released October 16, 2002, and the respective 25th anniversaries of Bobby Digital’s Black Woman & Child and Fatis “Xterminator” Burrell’s Praise Ye Jah.
To commemorate these anniversaries, VP Records has relaunched The Bobby Digital Story on its YouTube channel. Sizzla’s Rise To The Occasion concert from Reggae Month 2022, can also be viewed on VP Records’ YouTube channel.

For most fans of the artist, these three albums represent major peaks in his prolific career, resulting in core catalog tracks including “Just One Of Those Days (Dry Cry),” “Solid As A Rock,” “Thank U Mama,” “Guide Over Us,” “Give Them The Ride,” ”Praise Ye Jah,” and “Dem A Wonder.” As Firehouse Crew bassist Donald Dennis (Danny Bassie) summed it up in the documentary, The Bobby Digital Story, “When Praise Ye Jah came out, that was the beginning of Sizzla. When Black Woman & Child came out, that put him in a different air, a notch up. What really dun me, the whole thing now, Da Real Thing cover it off [and] show the whole world he is the greatest.”
In the same documentary, Bobby Digital (who passed away in May 2020) recalled, “Me and Sizzla have a chemistry … In anything you’re doing you have to have guidance. When the music go out, when people criticize, it’s going to fall back on me. We have to make sure anything we’re doing, it have to be right … I can remember when Sizzla came and did the last two songs for Da Real Thing, I say ‘a it this … a IT THIS!’ And when I put out that album, it was a turning point.”
Sizzla explained the mentorship of Bobby Digital in his early career: “Bobby Digital is a next gold in the music. We love and respect Bobby Digital. Wi father that. The way you respect your school … studios are like universities, so you respect the teachers and those who lay the foundation for you.”

Now with a catalog of more than 60 albums and approaching 1,000 recorded songs, Sizzla’s career began through a series of 7-inch vinyl singles on Xterminator, leading to RAS Records’ 1995 CD Burning Up. Over the next two years, momentum built around a body of work, primarily recorded for Xterminator, but also including notable singles, such as “Holding Firm” for Star Trail, and the pivotal recording for Bobby Digital, “Black Woman & Child,” released in 1996. Between 1995 and 1997, Sizzla toured the world extensively with Luciano, Mikey General, and the Firehouse Crew band led by Dean Fraser, as part of Fatis Burrell’s initiative to push his emerging label with the momentum gained from Luciano’s deal with Island Jamaica.
In all, 16 Sizzla albums were released between 1997 and 2002, including Black Woman & Child, Royal Son Of Ethiopia, Bobo Ashanti, Rastafari Teach I Everything, and Ghetto Revolution on Greensleeves Records; and Good Ways, Freedom Cry, Words Of Truth, Taking Over, and Da Real Thing through VP Records. Xterminator released Praise Ye Jah and Kalonji independently. It was the artist’s heyday as a major force in reggae.

Today was the day to explore the north of the Outerbanks, Corolla, which is famous for the almost 200 wild horses. They are wild and protected and live in the forests and also walk around the beaches and the houses there. Because it was sooo busy we could only found one free seat for a guided tour so Dani said, I shall pick the chance, he will have a beer or coffee and wait for me.
Before the guided tour started at 1 pm we got to see another lighthouse: Currytuck Beach Lighthouse, another beauty.
Bevor die Tour startete haben wir gleich gegenüber einen weiteren Leuchtturm besucht: den Currytuck Beach Leuchtturm, eine weitere Schönheit!
And then off Lisi went for a ride with our guide Gator-Larry and 11 other people on the Wild Horse Safary:
Und dann pünktlich um 13.00 Uhr sind Lisi und 11 weitere Personen zur Wilden Pferde Safary gestartet:
Our last eve on the Banks we spent at the Waterfront restaurant and had dinner on the porch outside with another nice sunset.
Den letzten Abend auf den Banks haben wir im Waterfront Restaurant draussen auf der Terrasse bei gutem Essen, einem Bierchen und einem weiteren schönen Sonnenuntergang verbracht.

Xzibit says he’s super stoked to toke in light of President Biden pardoning weed possession inmates — but says people should understand, it’s just one small step in the right direction.
The Golden State rap warrior chopped it up with TMZ Hip Hop to add his 2 cents to the brewing cannabis conversation, and while he commended the Prez for cutting federal prisoners the break … he says the majority of federal marijuana-related convictions will remain intact.

Best New Heavy Metal Releases Week of October 7th, 2022
This post will be a little abbreviated as I am officially in the realm of stupid tired. I was up at 3:30am on Sunday to get ready for work and set up my playlist for the day. After work, I drove for almost 2 hours to get to Iowa City to make the Saidan show. Tired, but sooooooo worth it. Saidan played a killer set. Hopefully, they set up a full tour instead of just a couple of one off dates, so more of you guys get a chance to see them. Definitely the highlight of the weekend, but there were other highlights in the new release category. Look at that seamless segue…lol
Korrosive-Toxic Apokalypse (Thrash)**
I enjoyed this band’s last album quite a bit, and it wasn’t all that long ago. “Kaustic Hordes” was released just a little over a year ago. As much as I enjoyed that one, this is a large step up, comparatively speaking. This is in the Havok and Warbringer style of dirty and aggressive Thrash Metal and where their last album was just a notch below those aforementioned bands, this one puts them squarely in their company. Riffs for days and breakdown sections worthy enough to be on an Exodus album. Add to this, vocals that sound like a verbal ass kicking and you have a killer Thrash Metal album. This band is now officially now on the “must see live” list.
I only recently got back into this band after urging from a friend who’s musical taste I respect (Thanks Cryptos). I had written them off after the late 90s and all the drama surrounding them and Geoff Tate. Not to mention some incredibly subpar albums. I am now certainly glad I gave them another shot as I have come to really enjoy their output going all the way back to “Dedicated to Chaos” in 2011. I think I am pretty confident in saying this album could very well be the best of everything I have heard since coming back to the fold. This album just showcases a band that is incredibly confident in their songwriting. Even the cover of Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” is a complete banger. If you haven’t heard Queensryche in a while, give them a listen, you may very well be pleasantly surprised.
Atruta-Da Varot Apramietnaj (Melodic Black)**
Debut album from this Melodic Black Metal band out of Belarus and what a debut it is. I came across this one early and it was one that kept drawing me back in and I went back to it as the week went on multiple times. I gave it the genre of Melodic Black Metal but honestly I think this band leans so heavily into the area of melody that this could be considered Black n’ Roll just without the frenetic pace that genre usually has. You could even go with straight Heavy Metal but with Black Metal influences. As you can tell, this one gave me some trouble in the genre designation, which I only care about to inform the reader what to expect. Whatever the case may be, this album continues getting better with each successive listen. Even if you are not really a fan of Black Metal, give this one a shot, It could change your mind.
Ensanguinate-Eldritch Anatomy (Death)**
Classic Death Metal is the order of the day from this debut album from Ensanguinate out of Slovenia. Adding a small dose of Thrash Metal to the mix also doesn’t hurt matters any. Once again, I am shocked at how superb the songwriting and the production are on debut albums. The production on this album is absolutely flawless, especially for a Death Metal album. It really feels like the album is giving you a full-blown workout with just how heavy it is.
Steel Arctus-Master of War (Heavy/Traditional)**
When it comes to the best metal scenes in the world compared to the size of the country, I don’t believe anyone can hold a candle to Greece. I mean, hell, there was even a documentary done about this exact subject. Star of the show here is shared between the vocals and the guitar work. Tasos Lazaris sounds like he hits every note with ease and his range is as good as you will find this side of Bruce Dickinson. Nash G shreds just as effortlessly with leads that are not just impressive technically, but also memorable, which is not always a straightforward thing to accomplish. Definitely a band to keep a very close eye on.
That is it for this week. Go see some live music and support these bands! Music is life! Until next week, and as always,
Parius-The Signal Heard Throughout Space (Progressive)*
Statement-Dreams From the Darkest Side (Heavy)*
Worth a listen if you enjoy the genre
Trishula-We All Fall Down (Hard Rock)
Mercythrone-Trinitatis (Black)
Woewarden-In the Art of my Caged Existence (Atmospheric Black)
Pavianass-Fuck the Rest (Thrash)
B.O.W.-A Dump of Twisted Destinies (Hard Rock)
Pinchbeck-Coalescence of Time (Heavy/Progressive/Hard Rock)
Blackened Temple-Blackened Temple (Black/Death)
Blodsvart-Ara Des Zorns (Black)
Blind Illusion-Wrath of the Gods (Thrash)
Captain Black Beard-Neon Sunrise (Hard Rock)
Mastic Scum-Icon (Brutal Death)
My Funeral-Funeral Manifesto (Thrash)
Gohrgone-Fulgur Imperii (Black/Death)
De Profundis-The Corruption of Virtue (Death)
Leaderless-Shattered Worlds (Melodic Death)
Memories of a Lost Soul-Redefining Nothingness (Melodic Death)
Acedia-Fracture (Black)
Iron Blade-Stormrider (Heavy/Speed)
Pick of week could of easily been the Steel Arctus album as well but in the end I let the CEO of The Metal Bulldog make the choice. Her choice was Korrosive-Toxic Apocalypse and who is going to argue with that face?
