Gani Lawal, Baser Amer carry Meralco past Columbian
Meralco import Gani Lawal. PBA IMAGES MANILA, Philippines–Meralco scored in bunches early and used that cushion to hold off hard-fighting Columbian, 101-92, Friday night in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Bolts went for eight unanswered points to start the game and kept on building on that groove en route to tabbing their first win in the conference. “It’s always good to get that first win under your belt. We lost a really tough game last time out,” Meralco coach Norman Black said. “[Tonight] we did a lot better offensively and defensively.” Import Gani Lawal had 25 points and 27 rebounds—both team bests—to help Meralco recover from a conference-opening loss to a young Blackwater side last weekend. “I think our team worked on our offense. Everybody’s sharing the basketball and everybody’s being a part of the offense—that really helped us in this game. And that’s what we look to continue for our remaining games—which is to spread the wealth, so to say,” Black added. The rest of the Bolts’ starters tossed in 10 or more, with Baser Amer registering 21 to lead the locals. “My locals played very, very well today especially my guards. All three starting guards played well. Good team victory for us today. It’s something we could build on,” Black added. Columbian drew 26 points from import Kyle Barone and 22 from star rookie CJ Perez. Three more added in twin digits in a bid to pull the rug from under Meralco. But that attempt didn’t meet its fruition as Amer emptied eight of his total points in the final frame to help the Bolts move on. Meralco continued to miss newly-acquired Raymond Almazan, who is still recovering from a left ankle sprain. “Maybe another two games at least before he comes back,” Black said of his big man. Meralco moves on to face crowd-darling Barangay Ginebra this Sunday again at the Big Dome in a bid to get some streak going. “It’s going be interesting,” Black said when asked about Justin Brownlee, the Gin Kings’ returning import who denied them a chance at a title twice in the past. “It’s going to be a big test for us. We’ll try to prepare our best game plan and see what happens Sunday.” The scores: Meralco 101 – Lawal 25, Amer 21, Jackson 17, Newsome 12, Hodge 10, Hugnatan 5, Tolomia 4, Pinto 3, De Ocampo 2, Salva 2, Faundo 0, Caram 0, Jamito 0, Quinto 0. Columbian 92 – Barone 26, Perez 22, McCarthy 13, Cahilig 11, Corpuz 11, Khobuntin 3, Agovida 3, Reyes 2, Calvo 1, Faundo 0, Camson 0, Celda 0, Escoto 0, Tabi 0. Quarterscores: 23-18, 50-35, 79-71, 101-92. Written by: Denison Rey A. Dalupang https://bit.ly/3tbvCKG

What’s been going on
It been weird little shocking and sad moment, my dad pass away in 25th August. Moment that happen, what worry me is mum will going cry alot. But it didn’t happen. My half brother, nethpew, nicece, older half sister and her husband come over to help out on things like money. We are really fine, everybody will pass away and you do move on. There will be struggle. We got famliy and without them we will stuggle. I like to move on and do things I like and still remeber my dad. He start had dementia since end of 2019, my mum look after him, and it was stuggle, worry about my mum, she been screaming and shouting cos dad been diffcult. We have carer every Tuesday. Try to move on and carry on as normal. My dad walk up all night mostly and it been diffcult for mum. Somewhere in August before his passing, he was sent to hospital as he suddenley keep sick out when he eat and drink. he was in hospital for two weeks before he return and then come 25th. When sent to hospital again, knew time come. Funreal was on 15 September, thought we just got the car but never car with coffin, but we did, cos I don’t like to show off. Some people in neighbourhood started looking when heading to funreal, at church, the speaker talk about dad’s past and things, there things I didn’t know. Then after funreal, went to resturant. Had good meal.
Back in April, we lost one of our cats, Mum cat (that her name). She had gum ache. And vet don’t seem to know what going and say things are alright. Her face started to go weird look like ugly dog. How did vet didn’t know what’s going on? this is thing trust vet or doctor as they didn’t know  what wrong and then things go bad. We adopted Mum cat, as she got pregant twice. We got Ozzy and Gremiln from her along with Taby and Ginger (before we sent them to pet shop).
Also had money problem. My money went down, had 5/4 thousand then went down to 3 hundred something. I was shock when I saw that. Sure didn’t spend that much, guess it got to do with my comic con visit and playstation and the Sims 4.
Yeah been horrible year, also that Euro 2020/21 final never get over it. This also somethings this year like Middleton Railway visit and Comic Con Leeds.

Pitch Me your thing!
HELLO HELLO MY SUNBEAMS. For most every category, there was an impressive turn-out for pitches, so I thought we’d utilize the weirdness of this year’s GIFTENING to give something new a try. The popular vote winner for each category will happen on the first day, but on the second, the winner will be chosen from YOUR PITCHES. Mostly those pitches will be to me. The exception is in Miscellaneous, where you’ll be pitching to my family, because what I want to do and what is most entertaining isn’t necessarily the same thing.
So! How will we do this thing? GLAD YOU ASKED. I’ll link you to a form in a minute with space for one pitch. Once you fill it out, you’ll be asked if you want to do another. There’s no limit to the number of pitches you can send in! But remember that if you submit multiple entries for the same category, you’ll basically be competing against yourself.
NOW WE’VE GOT SOME RULES FOR DOING THIS (which I mostly stole from Holligay, because I have no creativity this year). Please read them carefully! I’ll toss pitches that break any of these, and I’d rather your hard work not go to waste.
Pitch Me is open for your submissions from RIGHT NOW (22 December) through the very last day of this hellyear (31 December) at 11:59pm MT.
The thing you pitch must have come from what was nominated for THE GIFTENING 2020. (Full list of those nominations in every category below the cut on this post.)
Entries must be unsigned! I’m looking to chose based on the pitch alone, regardless of who submitted it.
The pitch itself must be 100 words or less. HAVE PITY ON ME I CAN ONLY CONSUME SO MUCH.
If you’d like to get some help, ideas, feedback, all that good stuff, the Discord is a FANTASTIC resource I encourage you to use.
HERE IS YOUR PITCH SUBMISSION LINK
And, as promised, below the cut you’ll find the list of all the nominees in every category you guys sent in this year. IT’S A LONG LIST HAVE FUN WITH THAT

the worst aspect is that tabi ears and others like her will not stick around. they will start to hate ot4 and will accuse them of lying to ot5s because ot5s refused to accept reality. bigbang are going to be judged by them to be lying even though they never said anything at all. there will be a lot of people who said they will be around forever that will shut their accounts or become antis when bigbang has its next comeback.
If you couldn’t tell from my reblog, tabi-ears and I are on very poor terms. It started when she was asked about the situation with Seungri last year and replied flippantly, “What did he do again?” Like all of 2019 was nothing, nothing at all. And when asked about him soliciting prostitution for himself, said, “There isn't much on this,” as if he hadn’t already confessed to it in court during his first arrest warrant hearing. What a joke. I just can’t take that kind of willful ignorance. There’s more, of course, but I’ll leave it at that.
“they will start to hate ot4 and will accuse them of lying to ot5s”
Ah, yes... lying. I can hear it now: “B-b-but the signs!” There were no signs. “But they said!” They never said. It was all in your head.
“there will be a lot of people who said they will be around forever that will shut their accounts or become antis when bigbang has its next comeback.”
Yeah. This is why... I know we like to think of BIGBANG as untouchable, as too big to fall, but after such a lengthy hiatus and the heavy blows they’ve taken during said hiatus, including the loss of a member, I think whoever is in charge of this operation, BB and/or YG, has come to the conclusion that alienating any more fans for any reason would be akin to shooting themselves in the foot. If they can keep people around until the comeback is underway, or even just until it’s announced, for most VIPs the excitement and thrill of new music, videos, concerts, etc will override the disappointment of finally, at long last, accepting that BB is truly four. Some fans might want to pull away and nurse their wounds, but the lure of new content will make it hard for them to follow through. Personally, I’ve had to adjust my expectations and accept that although I wish they would shut these fans down, partly for our sake, now is not a good time. There’s not much happening and not much holding people here. With so much riding on BB’s next move they probably won’t be making any strong statements about what is still for many fans a sensitive topic, as it would risk spoiling their long-awaited return to the scene by potentially setting off another exodus.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the members have been advised against or prohibited from speaking on the matter until they’re in a better position. We can’t forget that BIGBANG is a business, and to YG a product that exists to generate a profit, but they need a loyal fanbase to make that happen and they’re not likely to send anyone packing and give up that loss of income just because some fans on the internet are still fighting. Foreign fans, at that. I hear the atmosphere among KVIPs is far more peaceful.
Rather than let them speak freely, it appears the company is going to work with them to show us how BIGBANG will look from now on in a careful, controlled manner. This has already begun via their official photo of four and the four-member montage in Taeyang’s White Night documentary.
Do I like the silence? This balancing act? Of course not. It means we’re probably stuck with OT5s for quite some time while the world grapples with COVID and BIGBANG prepare for their comeback in the hopefully-not-too-distant future. How many stay and how many go when they drop that new album they’re supposedly working on, well, we’ll see then if the gamble pays off.

Cody Fern: Hollywood's Genderf**k Rebel 📝: British GQ Style, Mar. 14, 2019
In a blink of his kohl-smeared eyes, Cody Fern has skyrocketed from being a punk outsider from The Outback to embodying the spawn of Satan on screen in American Horror Story. When cameras find the 30-year-old actor, they glue to him: last year, he wolfed down scenes as serial killer Andrew Cunanan’s golden-locked ex-lover David Madson in American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, and was a highlight in the final season of House of Cards as Duncan Shepherd, the scheming son of powerful lobbyists. Off-camera, the Australian actor is just as daring — see his headline-grabbing Golden Globes look from earlier this year. Yes, your next pin-up stunts in structural Yohji Yamamoto and Margiela tabi boots. With a top-secret new Ryan Murphy project in the works, get used to seeing Fern around this year.
For one of two GQ Style SS19 covers, Fern is shot in by Cedric Buchet and styled by GQ Style editor Luke Day in bold looks by Gucci, Celine by Hedi Slimane, Givenchy, and more. Over a cosy cup of tea, he opens up to writer Maxwell Williams on becoming Ryan Murphy’s muse, working with his idols, and the responsibility of male actors post-#MeToo. Read on for an exclusive preview of our in-depth feature with Hollywood’s new genderfuck rebel.

InuKag Week 2019: Day 6
@inukag-week
(OH MY GAWD I’M SO FAR BEHIND)
Different Path
Inuyasha walked slowly up the towering steps toward the shrine that sat on top of the hill. At the top was a beautiful shrine maiden sweeping away the leaves and collective dirt that had gathered in the crevices of the stone pathway.
As he approached, she turned to greet her visitor and welcome him. Her long raven hair was pulled back loosely with a white tie, and she emitted a calm aura.
“Welcome,” she called to him, her smile soft and reaching her eyes. “Thank you for your visit today.”
Inuyasha grunted and looked around. His college roommate, Miroku, had told him that if he came to this shrine, he might find the answers he was looking for. Inuyasha had initially scoffed at the idea, but his suggestion had worn enough on the half-demon’s mind that he decided to go.
No harm in checking it out.
The shrine grounds were beautiful, that he had to admit. The large tree just to the side, and the little structures around the perimeter were well maintained and clean. The soft sunlight illuminated the area in an ethereal way, making him feel like he had left the business of Tokyo far behind.
Kagome watched as the man before her went from visibly tense to relaxed. His shoulders moved from being hiked high up by his ears to down in a relaxed position. She heard him start to take deeper breaths and the lines around his eyes and mouth dropped from sight and he blinked slowly.
She took the time to take in his appearance. He was dressed his loose-fitting pants and a larger bomber jacket. On his head was a baseball cap, silver hair pulled draped around his shoulders and down his back. His hands were tucked into his pocket, and the sandals were an interesting choice for this time of year. It would begin to frost at night soon, and she had pulled out her tabi socks weeks ago in response to the changing weather.
While he kept it well hidden physically, Kagome knew immediately that he had demon blood coursing through his veins.
She kept her voice quiet when she spoke to him again, “Please feel free to walk around. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.”
Inuyasha was snapped back to reality at the sound of her voice.
“Oh, right.” Inuyasha nodded in her direction. “Thanks.”
Miroku had warned Inuyasha that this was a centuries old shrine that had been run by the family for generations. The history of the place was ingrained deep into the ground it stood on, as well as the blood of the people who supported it. The woman at the front seemed harmless on the outside, but Inuyasha could tell right away that she held great spiritual powers.
He walked slowly around the grounds, admiring the centuries old structures and their condition. He had seen things like this growing up in his mother’s compound, but he never imagined he would find such things in the middle of Tokyo, tuck away on the top of a hill.
He could see the scraping and ridges made by the craftsmen so many years ago still imbedded deep into the wood, and the carvings had been carefully repaired when parts had fallen off.
The place was by no means elaborate, but it was loved. That much was visible.
Inuyasha walked close to see the insides of each building. He was slow and silent in his walk, causing him to startle an older man who was dusting and organizing some pottery in one of the sheds.
Inuyasha stepped back at the sound of his startled yelp, apologizing silently with a bow to the hunched over man and backing out of the shed.
However, the elder called to him.
“You look like a strong young man. Come here.” The older man waved his hands at Inuyasha, beckoning him to come back. Inuyasha looked around, trying to assess if the man was really talking to him. Seeing no one else, Inuyasha pointed at himself and said, “Who? Me?”
“Yes, you. I need this vase moved forward.” The older man patted the large decorated vase in front of him. “I need to clean the back.”
Inuyasha slowly moved forward and stood next to the man. “Uh,” he muttered, at a loss for words, “okay.”
“Just scoot it forward a little bit. Not too too much.”
Inuyasha did as he was told, carefully wiggling the large vase forward until the man told him it was enough. Not knowing what to do while the man cleaned the backside of the stored vase, Inuyasha looked around the shed. It was filled to the brim with pottery of all sizes, some small, some with visible fixed fractures, and scrolls, some hanging, their colors and calligraphy bright in color still, but most were rolled and tucked away.
The one that was hanging delicately on the very back wall of the shed caught his eye.
There was a woman on it, dressed in armor, battling the demons who had caught her in their grip. The colors of the scroll were dull, partially covered in dust, but the power and beauty of the image still shone through. Unconsciously, Inuyasha walked towards the scroll, as if pulled by some unknown force.
The old man noticed and began to speak to Inuyasha.
“Ah,” he said, not moving from cleaning the backside of the vase furiously, “I see you’ve noticed Midoriko’s final moments.”
Inuyasha was once again pulled back to his surroundings. “What?”
“Midoriko’s final moments. She battled a great hoard of demons before she was finally killed. She was one of our greatest ancestors. She was well known in her time for her strength and power.” Grandpa, having finished wiping and polishing the vase, stood, bones cracking, to join Inuyasha by the scroll.
“Her final resting place has been lost to history, but her sacrifice has not.”
Inuyasha nodded, looking back at the scene before him.
“Have you come looking for the Shikon no Tama?”
That was the last thing Inuyasha was expecting to hear. He heard his neck crack loudly in protest of how fast he turned it to look at the old man.
“What did you just say?”
“You’re a half demon, so I’m sure you’ve heard the tales of the Shikon no Tama being able to grant wishes. Have you come in search of it?”
“Do you have it?” Inuyasha whispered, his disbelief taking over every other emotion he was feeling.
The old man blew air, disturbing the dust on the scroll and revealing more of the color underneath. “No.”
Inuyasha paused for a moment, confused. “You don’t have it?”
“No.”
“Why did you bring it up?”
“Because we are Midoriko’s descendants, and her sacrifice is what brought it into the world. You must have come here looking for it.”
Inuyasha thought for a moment. While it was true, he was looking for the Shikon no Tama, he had no idea that this shrine was run by people who knew about it. That must have been why Miroku told him to come to this place. Suddenly feeling ashamed for reasons that he didn’t really understand, Inuyasha looked away and stared at the ground.
The old man next to him took his silence as an affirmation that the young man visiting them was indeed looking for the Shikon no Tama.
“Do you know the story of the Shikon no Tama? Of how it came to be?”
Inuyasha softly shook his head. The old man next to him began to tell the story of Midoriko’s final fight, and of the heart of the man who desired her. Inuyasha listened carefully to the story of the birth of the jewel, his mind reeling while trying to take it all in. He stared at the painted scroll in front of him, seeing the human face at the very bottom of the demon hoard and the hole where Midoriko’s heart should have been.
The old man was long winded, weaving a tale full of details and imagery, and as Inuyasha listened, he felt himself feeling as if he were there, watching the fight happen and feeling the desperation and rage that consumed the fighters.
He was so caught up in the story that the old man was telling that he didn’t hear the woman from the front enter the shed.
“Grandpa,” she called out, her voice piercing and disrupting the room, “are you bothering our visitor?”
Inuyasha turned on his heel and faced the priestess. The old man moved much slower, but he also turned around.
Grandpa answered her question, full of indignation, “No. He wanted to know the story.”
The woman raised an eyebrow at the old man, her grandfather Inuyasha presumed. “Is that so?”
“Yes, he’s looking for the Shikon no Tama.”
The woman walked forward and stood close to them. “Did you tell him that while it does grant a wish, it brings nothing but sorrow when it does. The beholder must ask for the perfect wish or they will suffer greatly for it?”
Inuyasha was surprised at this. The perfect wish?
“I was getting to that part.”
“I hope you told him we don’t have it.”
Inuyasha spoke this time, defending the old man. “He did. He was just telling me the story of the scroll.”
The woman looked over their shoulders at the painting. Her face fell slightly as she looked at it. “Ah,” she spoke slowly. “That’s why this all came up.”
The old man moved back to the vase, grunting a slight acknowledgement to the woman and waving at Inuyasha to help him move the vase back.
The woman moved closer to the scroll, lost in its imagery, paying no attention to Inuyasha and her grandfather moving the pottery back into its place.
This did not go unnoticed by Inuyasha, and he wondered why the woman seemed so enraptured by the painting. Certainly she had seen it a thousand times before?
Inuyasha put the vase back and watched as the old man left them in the shed alone. The woman didn’t seem to notice that they had been abandoned by the old man, who had left with some comment about going inside.
Inuyasha wanted to ask her what she was thinking, but he found himself too shy to be able to speak up.
Fortunately, she did for him.
“Why do you want the Shikon no Tama?”
Inuyasha’s eyes moved from looking around the room to resting on her form. She was still facing the scroll, so all he could look at was her back.
Before he could answer, she asked another question. “Is it because you are a half demon?”
Inuyasha stiffened at the comment. She had also noticed.
Scoffing loudly, as was his defense mechanism when he was caught off guard, Inuyasha rebuked, “So what if it is?”
Finally, the woman turned to face him. “You believe that the jewel can make you a full-blooded demon.”
Inuyasha crossed his arms and rolled his shoulders in reply to her.
“The jewel will not give you what you desire. It will take away your humanity as its price, and leave you mindless and unable to control yourself if you ask it to make you a full-blooded demon.”
Inuyasha clenched his jaw at her statement. It felt like an accusation to him. “So what if it does?”
The woman walked to be closer to him, her arms loose at her sides and her face unreadable. “You would sacrifice your humanity, the gift given to you by your human parent, just to escape the clutches of the judgement you face every day?”
“Look lady, you don’t know me-“
“No, I don’t. But I know that the cost of gaining what you think you desire is too high.”
Inuyasha didn’t have a retort to her. Her face was calm and soft, portraying no indication as to what she was feeling. He tried to read her, but he couldn’t.
She moved to walk past him, offering only one more comment. “We don’t have the jewel, but maybe we have what you are looking for.”
Inuyasha twisted his body to watch her walk out. “And what does that mean?” he shouted after her.
She paused for a moment, before looking over her shoulder at him. “What you are looking for is to belong. That is why you so desire the jewel and the temptation of what it offers. You are not the first in history to do what you are seeking.
“Others before you have been lost and never recovered from following the path you are walking. Perhaps, we can offer you a different path to walk.”
Inuyasha felt rage bubble to the surface. What did she know of him and what he was looking for? He shouted at her, storming to be closer to her face, “What the hell does that mean?”
The woman didn’t seem even remotely intimated by his behavior, which took Inuyasha by surprise. Instead, she offered her hand to him.
“My name is Kagome Higurashi. Would you like to come in for dinner?”
Her response startled him, but he took her hand and shook it slowly, forgetting his anger and his confusion at her statements earlier. “Inuyasha,” he introduced himself.
Kagome smiled and patted his hand with her other one, capturing his hand in a friendly way. “It’s nice to meet you.”
“And you, I guess.” Inuyasha stared at the way she held his hand in both of hers. No one had been so easy going in his presence before.
Kagome released his hands and stepped outside the shed, holding her arm out to tell him to join her. “We’re having oden for dinner. Please join us.”
While Inuyasha didn’t verbally respond to her statement, he nodded his agreement. As he stepped outside of the shed and followed Kagome into their large home, he also started walking a different path.

Fictober 2019 - #17 “There is just something about them/her/him.”
Prompt number: #17 “There is just something about them/her/him.”
Original fiction: Ad altiora tendo
Rating: E
Warnings/Tags: None.
New person in the hanger.
“At this point can they even still call this coffee? Legally?” Billy asked, face a mask of disgust as a shiver ran through him. What he’d just drank apparently did not agree with him. Or, at the least, did not meet his standards.
Tabitha, who was with him in the hanger, took a sip of her own drink. It was just as awful but she took it with a lot better grace than Billy had, humming thoughtfully as she considered the flavour.
“I find it helps to imagine  that you’re drinking something else,” she said.
Speaking for herself that meant thinking of tea. The hanger’s coffee and tea facilities used to - as the name might imply - supply both coffee and tea but, alas, budget restrictions had led to the current circumstances of subpar coffee and no tea at all.
She soldiered on. As did they all.
“You must have some imagination on you, Tabi,” Billy grumbled, taking another swig, this time perhaps hoping that drinking enough of it and quickly enough would make it more bearable. It did not. He shivered again. “Agh! Oh! Why!”
Tabitha was going to give him some general advice on the areas of patience and consideration of the better things in life when activity further down the hanger and away caught her attention.
“Ho, someone new,” she said, pointing. Billy looked.
“Fancy that,” he said.
The two of them watched this mysterious new person. They had absolutely no idea who it was. Plainly another pilot (like them) given that they were fussing about with what was presumably their personal machine, but other than that the pair knew nothing.
“Got a real way of moving, this new person,” Billy said.
This was true. Even for something as mundane as fussing about there was a level of grace involved that just seemed unnecessary. Hard to look away.
“My, they do rather catch the eye, don’t they? There is just something about them/her/him,” Tabitha said, putting her cup down behind her without looking. Billy glanced at Tabitha sideways.
“You gonna narrow that down at all?” He asked and Tabitha frowned. She would have frowned at him but right then didn’t want to look away from the new person.
“Doesn’t seem fair to pigeonhole such a magnificent individual so soon after having just seen them. Haven’t even said hello yet! No, I shall reserve that until I know more.”
“Suppose that’s fair,” he said, squinting, shielding his eyes from the glare of the overhead lights and rising sun (just peeking through the hanger doors now) with a hand. “Can’t even really make an informed guess anyway, at least not at this range. And with the mask and such.”
“What a mask though! Such artistry! You think it’s their own work?”
“You’ll have to go and ask,” Billy said, giving Tabitha a nudge.
“Why do I have to ask?” She huffed, though she was already starting to move towards this mysterious stranger.
“Because you’re the one who obviously wants to. Off, off you go. Bring back info on new person,” Billy said.
And so off Tabitha went.

Just the Two of Us: III
GoChi Week 2019 - @gochi-week
GoChi Day (3/27)
Characters: Goku and Chichi
Prompt:  Traditional Garment and Festival
Title: New Year
“How does it fit?”
Goku stared at himself in the mirror. He wore a kimono of a navy haori and a white and lighter blue hakama. “It’s fine. It’s loose so I like that.” He wiggled a foot showing his white tabi socks and navy zori sandals. “But these shoes are a little uncomfortable. What if I need to fight? I can’t in these.”
Chichi sat at her vanity desk adding the last touches of her makeup. She wore a beautiful printed red and gold kimono with a gold obi, white tabi socks and red zori sandals. “The only fighting you might do tonight is over the last piece of meat at the table. Some of Dad’s friends come ravenous for a good meal every New Year’s Eve.” She grinned. “It can be fierce and competitive over who eats the most.”
“Oh?” Goku grinned while patting his stomach. “I got them beat.”
“Oh, Goku,” Chichi drawled amused. “Must everything be a competition?”
“If I can win,” Goku rubbed his stomach, “sure!”
“Goku, we’re going to a party.” Completed with her hair and makeup, Chichi looked herself over. “Behave and remember your manners.”
It was a New Year’s Eve party Gyumao hosted and Goku didn’t understand the celebration of it. When it was only him and Grandpa, the two never celebrated the New Year. They always went to bed early. Master Roshi, Lunch and Krillin celebrated the New Year but Goku went to bed early since he wanted enough rest before he got up for training the next day. Goku never kept up with the year by calendar like everyone else until it was necessary such as the date of the World Martial Arts Tournament. The changing seasons were his only acknowledgement a year had passed.
This year was different. Since his marriage, Chichi showed Goku the importance of a calendar and understanding dates like holidays and significant ones like birthdays. Goku had been on Earth for over eighteen years but this was the first time he really took part in celebrations. It was another new thing he was learning in this marriage experience with Chichi.
Approving of her appearance, Chichi went to Goku who stood in front of a floor length mirror. Her pregnancy was obvious with the swelling of her stomach. As Chichi adjusted Goku’s kimono, making sure it was neat and worn correctly, Goku noticed her. Chichi’s hair was swept back with tendrils of hair falling at the sides. Her face was colored in that makeup stuff she sometimes wore. She smelled good, too. It was strange. Chichi always had a nice scent but with this pregnancy, it changed. The word he came up with to describe Chichi’s scent was tantalizing. Sometimes when he got a whiff of this scent he wanted Chichi intimately. Sometimes Chichi gave in and other times she didn’t. He knew Chichi would say no now so close to the party but maybe afterwards he can convince her to indulge in intimacy.
A formal dinner was held in the dining hall. Guests were friends of Gyumao but Chichi thought she and Goku should make an appearance. Chichi spent most of the dinner eating soba among the many dishes her hungry stomach required and talking to the guests who wished her a happy pregnancy and birth. Goku ate plate after bloated plate of food and gave one word answers when addressed.
Gyumao’s friends were ravenous as Chichi warned Goku but their hungry stomachs couldn’t compete with his or Chichi’s growing appetite.
After they finished their meals, Chichi and Goku left Gyumao and his guests for the more relaxed party that was held outside in the gardens of Gyumao castle and along the main street near the castle where most of the villagers partied.
The couple walked among the people of her father’s kingdom under a sea of lit colorful lanterns, candles and lights. While some male villagers wore dressy but relaxed clothes and some women wore short and mid length party dresses, others dressed like Gyumao, Chichi and Goku in kimonos. There were children up late this night with their parents and older siblings. They waved sparklers as they took part in the festivities.
Goku and Chichi ventured onto the main street where many booths were lined up for the night’s celebrations. After purchasing paper lanterns they will light together, they toured other booths of patrons and purchased sparklers, plush toys for the baby, charms and snacks like fried dough twists, meats on sticks and popped rice.
“Have you felt him yet?” an old woman asked Chichi.
Chichi had a hand on her growing stomach. “Not yet but it’ll be soon. I read I should feel my son in my fourth month.”
Another older lady shook her head. “It’s your first child. Your body is still adjusting to the changes. You may not feel him move until your sixth month.”
“I say it’ll be soon,” the first one said.
The other older lady shook her head. “I think it’ll be in the sixth month.”
While the women bicker over when Chichi will feel her child move, Chichi grabbed Goku’s hand and pulled him away from the women.
 “They’re strange,” Goku commented.
“No. Just gossipy.” While one hand held Goku’s, the other was on her stomach. “But I wish I can feel our son move. I can’t wait to feel him. It’ll make me feel I’m finally pregnant.”
Goku looked at her with a mouthful of meat. He gripped her hand signaling her to stop. Goku placed a hand on Chichi’s stomach. The child’s Ki was low but steady. “He’s fine. He’s probably asleep.”
Chichi grinned at him. Goku claimed he could feel their child by searching his Ki. He did this sometimes during her pregnancy. Sometimes she woke up to feel Goku’s hand on her stomach. “How do you know he’s sleeping?”
“We’re usually sleeping at this time but,” Goku grinned, “the fireworks will wake him later.”
“Maybe.” They resumed their walk down the street. Kids were lighting off firecrackers; street performers drew different audiences to them with their forms of entertainment. Goku waved his sparkler excitedly. The joy on his face was amusing and touching. “It’ll be better next year. We’ll have our child to celebrate with.” She chuckled. “He’ll probably be sleeping then, too.”
Goku’s happy face dropped when the light from his sparkler died. “Awww,” he whined. “Goku left Chichi’s side to run to a booth across from them and purchased another set of sparklers. He returned to Chichi joyous. “Look, Chichi! More sparklers!”
His happiness at the simple things were amusing. “Have you been to festivals?”
“No. I spent my time training.” Goku’s waved his sparklers in a round motion creating a circle of light streaks in front of him. “These are fun!” He handed one to Chichi when she approached him. “You do one.”
Chichi took a sparkler and wrote her name.
Goku’s eyes grew in excitement. He didn’t think of using his sparkler that way. “I wanna do that!” Goku used his sparkler and wrote his name. “Son Goku.”
 “Would you like a picture?”
Goku and Chichi turned to the merchant owner who sold them the sparklers. He held up his camera. “No charge for you and the princess.”
 “Thank you, Mr. Dule.”
With new sparklers, Goku wrote his name and faced Mr. Dule with a big smile. Chichi wrote her name quickly. For an added touch, Chichi drew a heart between their names. She faced Mr. Dule as he took a photo capturing the moment of the happy couple.
A perfect 4 x 6 photo printed from the advanced Capsule Corp camera. Mr. Dule handed it to Chichi. “Perfect.” Chichi was pleased with the photo. She looked at Goku. He saw the picture, too, and a sudden blush formed on his cheeks at the added touch Chichi added to their names. Chichi kissed Goku’s cheek suddenly and his blush deepened.
Near eleven that night, Goku and Chichi returned to the grounds of Gyumao’s castle. They found a secluded but lit spot where they could be alone to release their lanterns. Chichi sat on the grass with her lantern in hand. “It’s tradition to write words on the lantern. If you wish it, it might come true.” Chichi explained to Goku as she wrote on her lantern. “I’m writing, ‘Healthy and happy baby.’” She held her pen to him. “You should write something and make a wish, too.”
Goku took the pen from Chichi. He chewed his lower as he tried to think of something. Chichi had a good one with ‘Healthy and happy baby.’ He didn’t have anything to add. “Does the wish come true?”
“Last year I wrote, ‘To See Goku Again’ on mine. It came true. Of course,” she added, “I wrote that every year.”
Goku chuckled. He had an idea now. It couldn’t hurt. Chichi didn’t see what Goku wrote as she lit her lantern. From her view she saw a sea of lights along the main street as other villagers lit their lanterns. It was all set to release at the same time. Goku put his pen down and followed Chichi’s instructions as she told him how to light his lantern.
“It’s time, Goku,” Chichi gestured Goku to the sky lanterns suddenly floating in the sky from the main street and her father’s castle. Goku and Chichi released their sky lanterns. They were in awe as the brightly colored lanterns floated from them and joined the other lanterns like a magnet.
“How did our lanterns joined the others like that?” Goku asked. “I don’t feel any strong winds.”
“These are Capsule Corp sky lanterns,” Chichi explained. “There’s a mini magnet that draw the lanterns to fly off in close proximity to each other. All will float in the sky until the fuel runs out. Then they’ll slowly descend to the ground again in a preplanned spot. It makes it easier for the cleanup crew to find them tomorrow.”
Chichi slid over so she could rest her back against Goku’s chest as they watched the flying lanterns. “It’s pretty,” Goku remarked as he observed the soft glowing lanterns. It lit up the sky. With Chichi so close to him again, her scent filled his nostrils. Chichi smells so good. I wanna taste her. “What about the fireworks?” Goku asked. He tried to keep his mind focused on the night’s activities. He really did want to see the fireworks show but Chichi’s scent….
Chichi felt Goku’s hand on her obi. She thought he was settling his arms around her. “That comes sometime after the fire burns out in the lanterns and they return to the ground. They’ve done this for years, Goku. They always time this perfectly so they can set off fireworks at midnight.”
 “How much longer?”
“The fireworks?” Chichi thought for a moment. “Should be forty minutes from now.”
Goku’s hand tugged Chichi’s obi. He couldn’t wait that long. He was gonna do this now. “That should give us enough time.”
“Time?” Chichi questioned. “Time for what?”
As Chichi said, the fireworks began promptly at midnight. The peaceful skies of Gyumao’s kingdom lit up in a beautiful display of popping, sparkling colors of various reds, yellows, oranges, purples and pinks. Couples held each other as they gaze the sky in awe; some took the moment to share a first kiss of the New Year. Young children were either held by their parents or sat on their shoulders oohing at the light show. Gyumao stood on his balcony with friends with a glass of champagne to celebrate the New Year.
Chichi’s nails dug in Goku’s back. “Ahhh,” she breathed heavily as Goku moved in and out of her. “Mmmm.” Though her kimono was opened and her body exposed to the cool night air, Chichi could only feel the heat created by her and Goku. Goku was more exposed than her as he was completely naked but with Goku’s body always having a higher temperature, the cool air didn’t affect him. “Uhhhh….. ahhh…. Goku…..” she panted. Above her, Chichi could see the fireworks in the sky. She tried to direct Goku to pause in their intimacy to the light show above them but Goku’s body slapped against hers in a frantic rhythm that only pants and low moans came out of her mouth as she neared her release.
Chichi felt her body squeezed around Goku’s member. Her pleasured cries and Goku roar were silenced by the booms of the fireworks. Empty of his release, Goku slipped out but remained on Chichi. His head rest against her breasts as they viewed the rest of the fireworks show. Chichi pulled Goku’s discarded haori and draped it over him. The heat of intimacy was over and she knew even with Goku’s hot body he will complain of the night air.
Chichi thread her fingers through her husband’s dark hair. “Happy New Year, Goku.” A light shade of pink covered her face. “What a way to start the year.”
“Yeah,” Goku said dreamily. “You’re right, Chichi. Wishes on the lantern do come true.”
 “Hmm?”
Goku propped his chin on Chichi’s breasts. He grinned at her. “On my lantern. I wished we be intimate tonight and we were.”
Chichi stared at Goku with a parted mouth. Her hand touched her forehead as she dropped her head back laughing. “Oh, Goku. You should’ve wished for something important like our baby’s health. Not—” Chichi gasped and Goku’s body grew still. Their eyes met each other in wonder.
Goku pulled off Chichi to sit up to stare while Chichi’s hands went to her stomach. She looked at her stomach then Goku in wonder. “Did you…..feel that?”
Goku placed a hand over Chichi’s. Yes. He could feel it. A soft flutter moving inside Chichi. “It’s our baby.”
Chichi nodded. Joyful tears were in her eyes. “He’s moving.”
Goku stared at Chichi’s stomach amazed. “How about that.” His hand moved over Chichi’s round stomach. “Ki is strong, too. He’s awake. The fireworks woke up him.”
“Or…..” Chichi’s face turned a dark shade of red as she had a theory what could’ve awakened their child. “Goku? Promise me we’ll never tell our son the day I felt him move in me.”
Goku cocked his head puzzled. He thought it would be a fun story to tell their son. However, as Goku noticed his and Chichi’s state of undress, he understood why. He grinned at her. It’ll be their secret. “Promise.”

The post Gani Lawal, Baser Amer carry Meralco past Columbian appeared first on Philippine Basketball Association. https://bit.ly/3GsBeDq

Sogo OFF/Tabi 2019 RabiTV
Tumblr media
English translation of the RabbiTV from Sogo’s OFF / tabi 2019 card in Kyoto under the break...
Special thanks to @Keyhala (twitter) for providing the screenshots for this RabbiTV!
OFF/Tabi @ Kyoto
Tamaki: ...Hey.
Sogo: What’s wrong?
Tamaki: Sou-chan, I put up a photo of you on Rabbistagram just now, and it’s getting a big reaction.
Sogo: Eh… The photo from when we were at Takemura? When did you post it?
Tamaki: Right after taking it.
Sogo: If you could, I wish you would at least ask once before putting it up...
Tamaki: Huh? Why?
Sogo: I want to check if it’s an okay photo to put on the internet...
Tamaki: But, has there ever been a bad photo of you?
Sogo: ...I’m talking about if it’s bad for the agency...
Sogo: After all, right now… I don’t think I’m really dressed like an idol… I also look exhausted.
Tamaki: Really? Aren’t you the same as always?
Sogo: … Does… my face always look exhausted?
Tamaki: Yeah, these days, you’re always looking like that.
Sogo: Is that so...
Tamaki: It’s nothing to be shocked about.
Sogo: No……. If I always have an exhausted look on my face, I feel sorry to the fans.
Tamaki: Probably, if they’re Sou-chan fans, they all already understand.
Sogo: Eh…….?
Tamaki: That you’re able to have that kind of look on your face!
Sogo: I don’t really understand…. But it must be a good thing.
Tamaki: You don’t think so?
Sogo: Fufu…. I got it. If you say that’s how it is, then it must be true.
Tamaki: Hehe.
Sogo: A bit later, how about I post up a photo of you too, Tamaki-kun?
Tamaki: Eeh? That’s OK….. It’s kinda embarrassing, isn’t it? When you say it like that!
Sogo: Is it something like that?
Tamaki: It’s exactly like that!
Tamaki: Before, we took that photo of what we ate. That’s good enough.
Sogo: Ah, the one we took to remember it by? That could be good.
Tamaki: Let’s post up a whole bunch of food! There! Like that ice cream over there!
Sogo: Well…. It seems like you can still eat more.
Tamaki: Now, I can only eat a katsu sandwich, and french toast, and dango, and cotton candy.
Sogo: Young people are amazing...
Tamaki: And then, I plan on conquering the matcha flavor series!
Sogo: That’s right, you said that you’re competing with Riku-kun with who can find the most things that are matcha flavored….
Sogo: But it’s not an eating competition, right?
Tamaki: If you find it, you want to eat it! …. Sou-chan, doesn’t that look good? Gyoza with matcha dough.
Sogo: ….. It is kind of interesting.
Tamaki: Heheh, isn’t it?
Sogo: I only ever see matcha flavor for sweet things, so it’s interesting if it’s something salty.
Tamaki: That cotton candy from before, did you want to buy it as a gift?
Sogo: It is pretty unique. But it’s cotton candy, so would we be able to carry it around...
Tamaki: Usually, it’s sold at like festivals.
Sogo: Ah, that’s right… Tamaki-kun, you sure know a lot.
Tamaki: Kinda. A lot from you. …. Besides food, there’s also that mascot character.
Sogo: You mean, Tsukihashi Wataru-san. [1]
Tamaki: That one.
Sogo: Local mascot characters are an easy choice for souvenirs, so I think someone would be happy to get it as a gift...
Sogo: You can wear a T-shirt, and when you touch a plush toy, it makes you feel better, and it’s also practical?
Tamaki: Yeah, well… it has… charm?
Sogo: Fufu, good.
Sogo: It’s face also looks a bit like Ousama Pudding’s.
Tamaki: What?
Sogo: Eh?
Tamaki: He doesn’t look like Ousama Pudding. Not at all!
Tamaki: Whatever, he kinda looks like the one you drew, Sou-chan.
Sogo: Then, doesn’t that mean that he looks like Ousama Pudding?
Tamaki: It’s completely different!
Sogo: That’s pretty strong...
Tamaki: Sou-chan’s is… not a mascot character….
Tamaki: … how do I put it? Wouldn’t you say that kind of drawing is like… art?
Sogo: Art…...
Sogo: You mean, it looks a work that an artist would draw?
Tamaki: Yeah, like that.
Sogo: I see……. It’s like, we have to challenge ourselves with difficult subjects and not just easy things….
Sogo: As expected, it makes a difference to learn from an teacher. I was able to learn something new.
Tamaki: If you say so….
Sogo: … That’s right. Speaking of teachers, it was good that you were able to avoid failing your tests thanks to Iori teaching you.
Tamaki: Wah….. you made me remember something I don’t want to remember.
Sogo: At that time, Iori-kun was really spirited. For sure, we were able to go on this trip together because of his help.
Tamaki: Yeah. Iorin is like that.
Sogo: That’s right. ….. But, you learned from him, did you thank him properly?
Tamaki: I am super grateful.
Tamaki: ….Not just to Iorin, but to everyone.
Tamaki: You and Iorin studied with me, Rikkun brought us tea, and Nagicchi…. waved around a magic stick to cheer for me.
Tamaki: And then, Mikki made us food late at night, and Yama-san gave me Ousama Pudding as a reward.
Tamaki: And I thought then, “I am a happy person.”
Sogo: I see….. Tamaki-kun, you were trying your best, so everyone wanted to support you.
Sogo: Besides, if you didn’t come, Tamaki-kun, I would have to travel alone today, so I’m glad that you could come with me.
Tamaki: It’s better that I’m here?
Sogo: Of course.
Tamaki: Fuun…..
Sogo: …...Alright, it’s about time to meet up.
Sogo: I think we should buy gifts for the manager around here, and then head over to Kyoto Station. What do you think?
Tamaki: OK.
Tamaki: Wouldn’t that jam we saw earlier be good? It’s kinda feminine.
Sogo: Fufu, it is. Okay, let’s go with the jam.
Sogo: …… And then, what about the gyoza?
Tamaki: Let’s eat it! We have to try it!
Sogo: Ahaha, let’s try it! It looks, kind of, manly.
Tamaki: Let’s hurry and go, Sou-chan!

1. Okay, so this mascot, Tsukihashi Wataru looks like this:

And there’s a real life mascot version too:
Tumblr media
His name is a reference to the the Togetsukyo Bridge in Arashiyama District in Kyoto, so he has a bridge on his back. His website in Japanese is here, and his twitter is @tukihashi. Anyway, I love Japan.

Tonight, the Golden Globes red carpet kicked off what is sure to be a night of glitz, accolades, and viral memes. But let’s cut right to the fashion. In a sea of classic men’s suits, some actors refreshingly strayed from the norm on the red carpet, American Horror Story star Cody Fern being one of them. Instead, he decided to give his daring look a fashion spin by wearing Maison Margiela’s iconic Tabi heel boots.
Fern went with an all-black motif for his look tonight, wearing high-waisted trousers and tucking in a button-up shirt that had sheer paneling at the top. (A hint of skin on men? Surprisingly fresh.) On his feet, his chunky-heeled Tabi boots, with their signature split-toe detail, gave the whole ensemble serious edge. Like Ezra Miller and Timothée Chalamet, is this up-and-comer a man to keep an eye on in 2019? He took a risk here, and it definitely paid off.

Martin Margiela
Martin Margiela is known for doing things his own way and his minimalist designs, starting off working for Jean Paul Gaultier before going solo in 1988. He didn’t give interviews and kept himself to himself focusing his direct attention to his clothes and concepts behind them. He was known for never “labelling” his designs from a simple logo on a garment to the label that isn’t seen. Instead he replaced this with the “ghost” tag which was marked with four white stitches. He was very experimental with proportions in his work using exaggerated shoulders and exposed seams and his iconic Tabi boots can be seen throughout his collections. I really like how focused he was on the garments themselves and spending more time on his concept and design rather than the labelling.
His 1993 collection focused on pairing minimalism with Victoriana. The Victoriana aspect was displayed through petticoat-style skirts, galloon-trimmed jackets and pieces of greenery hung like pendants around the neck. It was very minimalist in it’s colour palette with a mix of cream, grey and white and also simple blazer style jackets and trousers.
MM6
In 1977, MM6 Maison Margiela was created originating from the Maison’s original outlook but translating it into more casual feminine, contemporary cuts and prints. Still using their unique philosophy MM6 uses conceptual basics blended with using different fabric treatments to create a distinctive everyday wardrobe and a seasonal ready-to-wear collection, footwear and accessories.
Minimalism is a clear indication and is what identifies MM6 and Maison as Margiela. In the MM6 Spring 2019 collection you can see how clearly minimalism runs through every collection from colour palettes to an evolved Tabi boot. I find it really inspiring how the brand still use their identifiable look in both Maison and MM6 to keep Martin Margiela’s concept alive.
