For a character that doesn’t have the most screen time in the anime, I really have a soft spot of Ritsu Akaza Oda / Bossanova! He got a good amount of back story and development, and I was laughing a lot during the episodes based around him!

Fancy Tuna and Frantic Texts
Fandom: Ouran High School Host Club
Characters: regressor!Haruhi Fujioka, caregivers!Tamaki Suoh and Kyoya Ootori
Words: 3,000
Summary: Haruhi regresses after a hard day at school, finding herself dissociating in the hallway, waiting for Tamaki to text her back. Luckily, Kyoya is there to take care of her as they wait for Tamaki to arrive.
Warnings: Involuntary regression, themes of accidentally missed meals and hunger, canon cglre terminology (Tamaki as Daddy, Kyoya as Mommy), accidental regression reveal, brief argument between Tamaki and Kyoya, which causes Haruhi stress.
Note: Haruhi and Tamaki’s relationship is continued from this fic that I wrote previously! Reading it first isn’t necessary, though ^-^

Tumblr media
Haruhi was a strong young woman.
She’d heard it often enough from her father, it was one of his favourite compliments. Haruhi was his strong daughter, his brave daughter.
Moving to Ouran had only solidified that impression: Haruhi would have loved to see one of her wealthy classmates deal with her sleep schedule. Her pile of chores. The stress of running a household, needing to keep her grades up, and trying to feed herself regularly.
So, maybe Haruhi had missed breakfast. And forgotten to pack lunch. She wouldn’t have done it on purpose, she knew she focused better on a full stomach and she needed good notes for math. But she’d been in a rush, and she didn’t want to miss the bus…
Classes had ended, but Haruhi was too exhausted to brave the hour-long public transit back home. It had taken the last of her energy to stumble out of her last class and stay upright. There were restaurants around Ouran Academy, but nothing that would fit into Haruhi’s budget.
She felt increasingly hopeless, and the world was getting less stable around her.
I miss Tamaki, Haruhi thought, and then grimaced. She must be slipping faster than she’d thought.
Tamaki was the only one who knew that sometimes Haruhi didn’t feel strong or brave at all. Sometimes she felt too small for the world, too weak to hold back the tears. It had been an accident when Tamaki had found out, but it had been nice. And he’d taken care of her a few times since then.
Times like this, when she was overwhelmed.
Haruhi sighed and pulled out her phone.
Fancy tuna? she texted to Tamaki. It was their code phrase when Haruhi was feeling small. Today, it only reminded Haruhi of her very empty stomach.
Haruhi leaned back against a wall and breathed in. She was so dizzy. Could she even walk?
Tamaki was strong enough to carry her… she felt so safe in his arms. Before she could stop them, there were tears prickling in her eyes. Where was he? Why wasn’t he here? Why couldn’t she do this alone?
Daddy… Haruhi shut her eyes and held the phone close to her chest. The world was spinning around her. Time seemed to stretch into itself.
All at once, there were arms scooping her up, and she was bring carried. Haruhi was so overwhelmed that it didn’t occur to her to be frightened. She focused on holding her phone close, still waiting for it to ring and announce Tamaki’s impending arrival.
Haruhi was deposited on a soft surface, the arms retreating. She curled her legs up to her chest, her phone gripped tightly in both hands.
Now that she was sitting, Haruhi felt a little more stable: she raised her eyes and looked around.
Haruhi was in a club room, an empty classroom that was clearly in use by an all-female group: everything was squishy furniture and yellow fabric, matching the dresses that most female students wore to Ouran.
And in the middle of all the yellow, arms crossed over his chest, was…
“Kyoya-senpai?” Haruhi managed. He must have carried her here, but why?
“My apologies,” Kyoya nodded. “I would have waited for your consent to carry you, but you were unresponsive when I spoke. It wouldn’t do for a Host to be found in such a state, you understand.”
Haruhi blinked. Kyoya really had carried her here. She didn’t understand the rest of what he was saying, but he didn’t seem angry with her.
“M’sorry,” she said anyways.
“That’s not-” Kyoya cut himself off, looking at her more closely. “What’s wrong, Haruhi?”
“Um. Hungry,” Haruhi muttered. It was twisting her stomach, the missed meals. She was never skipping two in a row again.
“Hungry,” Kyoya repeated to himself. “I can address that.”
He pulled out his phone and made a call. Haruhi struggled to follow his fast talking, but she did hear several types of food being mentioned. She failed to stifle a hungry whimper, and Kyoya’s eyes flickered over to her for a moment, before he returned his attention to the phone call.
After Kyoya finished giving his instructions, he tucked his phone back into his pocket and came over to Haruhi’s couch, kneeling down in front of her so that they were closer to the same height. Haruhi felt her eyes widen, surprised to see Kyoya willingly putting the knees of his uniform on the dirty floor.
“There, food is on its way,” Kyoya said, offering a hand to Haruhi.
Reluctantly shifting her phone to one hand, Haruhi grabbed onto Kyoya, the physical contact grounding in a way she hadn’t known she needed.
Suddenly embarrassed, Haruhi ducked her head down, hearing a little hum come from her chest.
“Ah, are you unwell?” Kyoya asked, and his fingers tightened around hers where their hands were connected. His other hand pushed her chin up gently, a familiar motion that Kyoya often did as a reminder to Haruhi to keep her back straight when guests were over. But now it was much gentler, and once Haruhi’s face was up, Kyoya’s hand switched to her forehead, as if checking for a fever.
Kyoya hummed to himself and removed his hand. Haruhi leaned after it, having found the coolness of his skin to be a relief in the middle of all the spinning confusion she was feeling. Thankfully, it returned, half-covering her eyes and bringing the world to darkness.
Haruhi sighed, relaxing into the hands. This was nice. Just like Tamaki would block out sounds for her with his headphones, Kyoya was blocking out the light of the classroom, and it felt like she could think again.
“Sorry, Kyoya-senpai,” Haruhi managed.
“There’s no need for apologies, Haruhi. Just tell me if there’s anything else you need.” Kyoya’s hand on her forehead shifted, his thumb sweeping across her temple and brushing some of her hair back.
“Just Tamaki,” Haruhi admitted. “Want Tamaki.” It felt wrong to use his name right now, but she didn’t want to be more embarrassed.
“Alright. I can get you Tamaki,” Haruhi heard Kyoya say. Relief almost brought tears to her eyes again. He extracted his hand from hers, and she did her best not to fight it. He kept his hand on her forehead, his thumb moving in broad strokes against her temple and cheek.
Haruhi heard the faint sounds of Kyoya dialing another number. He was close enough to the couch, kneeling in front of her, that she could hear the phone ringing.
And then there was Tamaki’s voice, far louder than it should be.
“Kyoya! I need your help! Are you still in the school? Can you look for Haruhi? She’s not answering my texts!”
Haruhi pushed Kyoya’s hand off her forehead and reached for the phone. Daddy! He was talking! He said Haruhi’s name!
Kyoya handed over the phone with a little smile on his face, and Haruhi immediately pressed it to her ear.
“Daddy,” Haruhi said, her voice weak.
“Haruhi! Baby, I’m so sorry, did your phone die? Where are you? Daddy’s coming, sweetheart.”
“M’sorry, Kyoya carried me. I was… I dunno where, I’m sorry Daddy, I tried to be strong.” Haruhi’s tears finally started to overflow.
“Oh, nono sweetheart, it’s not your fault. Shhhh, I’m going to come and find you. Haruhi, baby, can you let Kyoya tell me where you are? And then he’ll give the phone right back.”
“Mm-mm,” Haruhi said, unwilling to let go of the phone.
“Okay, alright.” There was a little pause from Daddy’s side of the phone. “Just hold the phone a little farther from your ear, okay? You’ll still be able to hear me, I’m here.” Haruhi sniffled, but obediently held the phone out in the air. “Am I away from your ear, Haruhi?”
“Uh-huh,” Haruhi said. She could still hear him, but a lot softer.
“Good job, sweetheart. Kyoya, where are you guys?” Daddy said, a lot louder. Kyoya hadn’t moved away, so he perked up and leaned towards the phone.
“Classroom C-32, third floor.”
“Yes! Okay!” Haruhi brought the phone back to her ear and listened to Daddy running. “I’m on my way, Haruhi.”
“I know, Daddy. Kyoya-senpai’s being really nice to me.”
“Well good!” Daddy’s breath was coming a little shorter, he was climbing stairs. “Okay, sweetheart, I can move faster with both my arms, are you gonna be okay if I leave you with Mommy for a little bit?”
Haruhi glanced up at Kyoya and was surprised to see the soft expression on his face. He wasn’t looking at Haruhi, his gaze on his own hands, but it was clear that he was listening to the conversation.
“Uh-huh. Come quick.”
“Quick as I can, baby. I’ll be right there.”
“Okay, Daddy.” Haruhi kept holding the phone, unwilling to hang up. She heard Daddy laugh a little on the other end.
“I love you, Haruhi.” And then there was a click, and the phone was disconnected. Haruhi did her best not to start crying immediately, but she kept clutching the phone to her ear, mindless of the dial tone.
Kyoya touched Haruhi’s hand that wasn’t holding the phone, laying his own palm overtop of her hand. “He’s coming for you. Do you want to put down the phone?”
Haruhi sniffed and gave up Kyoya’s phone.
“Thank you very much,” Kyoya said formally, and slipped it back into his pocket. “Would you like me to hold you while we wait?”
Haruhi thought that sounded nice, and obediently reached out in Kyoya’s direction. Much like before, Kyoya swept her up and then sat on the couch with Haruhi cradled in his arms, her face pressed into his chest.
Haruhi wrapped her arms around Kyoya’s neck and reveled in the feeling. He was almost like Daddy, so solid around her when the rest of the world was so confusing. He petted the back of her head, making her melt into him.
“M’sorry, Kyoya,” she said again.
“Too many apologies,” Kyoya scolded, but his voice was as soft as Haruhi had ever heard it. “There is still no need for them.” His fingers carded through her hair. “Tamaki will be here shortly, and I am happy to hold you.”
“T’nk you,” Haruhi said, and rubbed her face against the fabric of Kyoya’s blazer.
“You are welcome.”
They sat like that for a few breaths, Haruhi listening to Kyoya’s heartbeat as she lay against him. It was just as steady as she would have imagined. Just like the rest of him, steady and comforting. Well, Kyoya could be a little scary to people who didn’t know him, but Haruhi hadn’t been scared of him in a long time.
The door to the classroom slammed open, and Tamaki entered with frantic energy spiraling out from him.
“Haruhi!” he cried, as soon as he saw her.
“Daddy!” Haruhi wiggled free of Kyoya’s arms and ran towards her Daddy, almost tripping over her own feet but managing to stumble over to him. Daddy opened his arms and Haruhi slammed into him. He spun her around, her feet leaving the floor for one glorious moment, and then he pulled her close with a big squeezing hug.
“Baby, I got your text and then you didn’t answer me! You worried Daddy so much!” His scolding wasn’t soft like Kyoya’s, but Haruhi could still tell that it was loving. “I’m so glad that Mommy was there for you.”
Haruhi didn’t feel like talking anymore. She just held Daddy and then rocked forward on her toes, hopping up a little bit. Daddy understood the motion and scooped her into his arms. It wasn’t effortless like it was for Kyoya, but he held her very tightly and she always felt safe in his arms.
Daddy carried her over to the couch and they sat down next to Kyoya. Haruhi peeked out from Daddy’s arms and saw a complicated expression on Kyoya’s face, his eyes darting between them and his hands and the door. He looked uncertain in a way Kyoya rarely looked, and Haruhi didn’t like it.
“Mmm,” Haruhi managed, reaching a hand in Kyoya’s direction and touching the shoulder of his suit. Kyoya brought a hand up to cover Haruhi’s, and interlaced their fingers again.
“Aww, did you guys have some bonding time while Daddy was away?” Tamaki said, running a hand through Haruhi’s hair and ruffling it in all directions. “I’m happy to see the two of you getting along.”
“You know, Tamaki, that I prefer to keep informed on the coping mechanisms of the Host Club members, so that I can insure they are remaining healthy. Haruhi may not have suffered today, had you told me.” Kyoya’s voice was stiff and Haruhi squeezed his hand. He didn’t sound happy, but she couldn’t figure out why. She was too floaty for big thoughts.
“It wasn’t mine to tell, you know that.” Daddy smoothed Haruhi’s hair back into place, fixing what he’d ruffled. “I wanted her to choose.”
“She didn’t get to choose today,” Kyoya said. His displeasure was clear enough for even Tamaki to pick up on it.
“Are you mad at me?”
“No. I’m…” Kyoya sighed. “I’m upset with the situation. I wish that Haruhi was not distressed.” Haruhi made a protesting noise.
“M’happy!” She wiggled herself out of Tamaki’s arms and onto Kyoya’s lap, an easy transition with the two of them sitting so close together. “M’happy, Kyoya.”
“Yes, but you were very upset earlier,” Kyoya told her, accepting her into his arms and carefully arranging her in a comfortable position. “And I wish that you hadn’t been.”
“M’sorry.” Haruhi hid her face in Kyoya’s neck. “I f’rgot to eat.”
“I know.” Kyoya smoothed a hand down Haruhi’s back. “And if Tamaki had told me that was a risk, it wouldn’t have happened.”
“She doesn’t usually skip meals,” Daddy said defensively. “It’s usually because she’s tired.” Haruhi can feel him pouting.
“Yet I found her in the hallway both tired and hungry, unable to respond when I spoke to her, and utterly unprepared to help.” Kyoya’s hands got a little tighter where they were holding onto Haruhi. “Her phone was dead, and I didn’t know to call you. You should have told me.”
“It wasn’t my job to tell you!” Daddy said, with a sudden motion that Haruhi can feel through the couch, despite her face being hidden in Kyoya’s neck. He probably threw his hands in the air. Daddy likes to do that when he’s frustrated.
“No, but it was your job to take care of her, and if you weren’t going to do that, then-”
“Don’t you dare insinuate that-”
“Mommy, Daddy, please stop fighting!” Haruhi wailed, pushing out of her spot against Mommy’s neck. “Stop it stop it stop it! I’m sorry!”
“Oh, no, sweetheart, I’m sorry,” Daddy said. “I’m sorry, come here.” His hands tugged at Haruhi’s arms, but Mommy didn’t let go.
“I’m sorry as well,” Mommy said, his voice low. “I shouldn’t have said that.”
Daddy’s hands stopped tugging. There was a moment of silence, and Haruhi covered her face again with her hands, unwilling to watch the two of them stare at each other.
“You were being mean,” Daddy said, a pout in his voice. “I love Haruhi. I’m just as upset that I wasn’t there for her.”
Haruhi wanted to protest, but she knew this was an important discussion, so she lay in Mommy’s arms and kept her face hidden. At least he was still holding her.
“You’re right. I was out of line.” Mommy started to pet Haruhi’s head again. “I was simply… upset that I did not know how best to help her. You are correct, it was not your job to inform me. However much I wish that I could know everything.”
“You do know everything,” Daddy grumbled, and Mommy laughed a little.
“I do not.” Mommy adjusted Haruhi in his arms, encouraging her to sit upright. Cautiously, she dropped her hands and looked at both of their faces. They looked less upset now, and they were regarding each other with fondness.
“Friends again?” Haruhi asked, cautiously.
“Mommy and Daddy are always friends,” Daddy corrected, resting one hand on Haruhi’s head and the other one on Mommy’s hand. “Even when they fight.”
“It’s true,” Mommy sighed. “Even when your Daddy drives me crazy.” He poked Haruhi’s stomach, making her giggle and then wince. Laughing made her more aware of the remaining cramps in her stomach.
“Ah, she said she skipped meals!” Daddy said, straightening up. “We should go and get some food.”
“No need.” Mommy stood up, gently dropping Haruhi into Daddy’s lap. Daddy’s arms wrapped around her, and he pulled her close. Haruhi hummed happily. “I will return in a moment.”
Haruhi and Daddy both watched Mommy walk across the classroom, open the door to the hall, and retrieve several white bags.
“You ordered food to the classroom?” Daddy said, laughing.
“It seemed prudent when I learned Haruhi was both hungry and not in any shape to venture out.” Mommy walked back to them, and Haruhi started to be able to smell the food in the bags. She squirmed against Daddy’s arms.
“Patience, sweetheart, let Mommy unpack it,” Daddy laughed, keeping Haruhi in his lap.
Sure enough, Mommy opened the bags and spread out the boxes all over one of the tables, opening each one to show its contents. There was sushi and tempura and noodles and rice and soup that was still steaming and Haruhi wanted it now please!
“Alright, go ahead,” Daddy said, and released Haruhi from his embrace.
She stumbled across the floor and wrapped her arms around Mommy’s chest, her nose pressed into his ribcage. “Thank you, Mommy,” Haruhi said in her most polite voice.
Mommy’s hand came to rest on her head, gentle and loving. “You are welcome.” And again, Haruhi could tell that he meant it. “Now, let’s choose some food, shall we?”
Haruhi hopped into the chair, wiggling excitedly, and both Mommy and Daddy came to sit at the table as well. Haruhi beamed at both of them, and the two of them shared a fond look.
“Ah, Haruhi, use your chopsticks!” Daddy admonished a second later, as Haruhi dove for the sashimi.

The Daughter of Light - Chapter 6 (on Wattpad) https://my.w.tt/zHP1PBQ0O0 Aileen Hina Katayama did not want the fates to throw her into another hellish nightmare. However as we all know at this point, the Fates just hate demigods. As soon as her other hellish nightmare that included an evil Mother Earth and an insane, annoying, little boy was over she gets tossed into yet another nightmare. This time the nightmare was much more sinister and horrible. This horrible hellish nightmare was called high school, and it was invented to destroy every teen's self esteem and destroy Hina's life. KyoyaXOC I'm sorry about the shitty cover.
