kita shinsuke is starting to feel like he did during his high school years again.

he doesn't know when or how it came to this, where he can't take his eyes off of you, or how everytime you touch him it feels like electricity, but he's starting to think that he's fallen ill.

his face gets warmer, both figuratively and literally, at the mere sight of you. have you always had this effect on him?

kita can't help but sweat when you're close. the way you snuggle into his side to steal all of his warmth almost made him flinch, as if this wasn't already a daily routine for you two.

every time you surprise him with a long kiss, he feels the need to hold you for support. by the waist, he prefers.

and whenever kita sees you playing with your wedding ring (a habit you developed), his heart swells. it's like a little reminder that he's married to you.

kita is lost in thought, and you just so happened to notice. "shin?" you call from the kitchen. kita faces you and sees you slicing some fruit, "are you okay?" you ask.

kita doesn't nod. maybe he can ask you why he's feeling this way. "can we talk?" kita asks, and you nod, making your way over to the couch, placing the bowl of fruit on the table in front of you. "what's on your mind, love?" you ask.

"love.." the nickname you called him every day, and every other day. he can feel your effect on him taking place already; with the way his heart was beating erratically against his ribcage, and the fact that he tries not to fidget with his own fingers.

"i— uhm.." did he just stutter? "..did you do something with yourself lately?" kita asked. you tilt your head before shaking it, "no, not that i can remember. why do you ask?" you respond.

"then i think i'm coming down with a flu." kita says. you widen your eyes that are filled with nothing but care, "really?" you lean over and gently place your hand under kita's bangs and on his forehead. somehow, the effect you had on him doubled.

his breath hitches from the proximity that he should be used to by now. he patiently waits for you to pull away and give him his diagnosis, but you only shrug. "i don't feel anything out of the ordinary.."

kita sighs, maybe it's best if he just tells you what's on his mind. "i just— i feel like how i did when we still attended high school." he says. you quirk a brow, not properly understanding his point of view, "what do you mean by that, shin?"

"whenever you walk into a room, aran would tell me how red my face got. i feel the need to protect you a lot more lately. not because i think you're incapable of defending yourself, but because i just want to. and when you kiss me.. i feel stiffer than usual." kita rants. "my eyes linger on you a little longer than it should, but i can't help it. you're just.." he pauses, seeing the soft smile on your face as you listened.

"so beautiful." he says, breathless.

you caress his round cheek that happened to be painted with a red hue. "now i'm no psychologist, but i think you're in love with me, shin." you said.

kita blinks at you. "but i've always loved you. why did i start feeling this way again only until recently?"

"how you felt when you were younger was probably just a crush, whereas it all felt new to you. being bashful over the person you like is normal." you explained, "like irina firstein said, "feelings don't dissipate over time, but only get stronger and deeper." so you might've just had a shift in the way you feel love now."

"but, alas, love is pretty weird, no?" you giggle.

kita nods, a small smile making its way on his handsome face.

ojiro aran headcanons bc @luminouschaotic asked me if i had thoughts (which was. a while back) but i'm out of town for two weeks in a couple days and won't be on much so i wanted to get this done before then so LET'S GO!!

aran has like spidey-sense Chaos Instincts™️ honed by years of taking care of the miyas so much so that on his first day at inarizaki he feels a tingle down his spine and turns around just in time to catch akagi michinari falling out of a tree

aran, being the kind soul that he is, goes over to help. because if there's anything the miyas have taught him it's that if you don't intervene early on there WILL be even more severe consequences down the line than if you'd just helped them in the first place

it basically goes "hi i'm ojiro what do you need me to do and how much plausible deniability can i get from this"

don't worry akagi had just been get a paper airplane bc he might be a little shit but he's a little shit with morals who cares about the environment

he didn't get the airplane the branch broke before he could

akagi tells aran that he's going to try one more time and asks aran to stand under the tree so that aran can catch him if he falls again and aran's dreading the day akagi and the twins will finally meet

i actually think it WOULD be funny if kita and akagi had been childhood friends or something previously bc a) SOMEONE had to have been akagi's handle before high school and b) it just makes sense in my head

also i think a fundamental aspect of the shiratorizawa and inarizaki rivalry that we're overlooking is reon and aran bonding

like. they get it. they know what it's like. loving a place that does not always loves you back. having a home that does not always feel like a home. it can be hard, sometimes. but if there's one thing they agree on it's that their teams ALWAYS have their backs

also this just makes the whole "aran's irrational fear is tendou satori" a thousand times funnier

Aran Ojiro:

Would help set up everything and clean up— the umbrella, the grill, the towels, whatever is left out on the beach. Aran would have some time to himself... and probably spend that lazing in his chair because the boy earned it.

Akagi Michinari:

Would probably have fun playing in the water with Osamu/ Ginjima. And he would totally get into chicken fights with Ginjima on the twin's shoulders or Akagi on Ginjima's. Would offer to help clean up but Aran and Kita got it already

Ginjima Hitoshi:

This mf is running on the beach screaming his head off with Atsumu. He's playing volleyball? In the water? Stomping over sand castles? Yeah, they're yelling.

Kita Shinsuke:

Like Aran would help set up/ clean up. I feel like Kita would also make a bomb ass sandcastle with "help" (documentation) from Suna. Would show his rare annoyed side when Atsumu and Ginjima run through part of it.

Miya Atsumu:

This mf is like an overexcited golden retriever and has to be moving to get all of his energy out. He's playing volleyball, swimming (previously mentioned), running around (also previously mentioned), and when he finally is done the food is ready and he's eating the most. Kita and Osamu say it's okay for him to start his nap in the van early so he skips on cleaning up

Miya Osamu:

He's worried about the grill the whole time, and you BEST believe he's the grill master. He's the one holding the tongs and making sure the barbecue is perfect. He'd take a break to go join for one game of volleyball and a few chicken fights in the water (only passing the tongs to kita), before returning to his station.

First date Aran Ojiro who, with Kita's assistance and Suna and the twins butting in, took three weeks to ask you out and initially didn't fully comprehend why he was so scared. Until he was going to walk up to you when you were talking with your friend and realized you were so beautiful, that’s why he was scared. He ended up power-walking away that day when you turned to look at him, his face warm with blush.

First date Aran Ojiro who eventually worked up the confidence to approach you and ask you out on a date after many tries and failures. When he heard you laugh and nod, swore he could see the sun dancing in your smile and knew right then and there he would ask you out on many more dates if this one went well.

First date Aran Ojiro who took great care to ensure that every last detail of the date was planned. He didn't want to take you to the movies because he wanted you two to spend that time getting to know each other rather than sitting in silence for a few hours, and he didn't want to take you on a hike since he wasn't sure if you had any prior hiking experience. Up until that point, when he recalled that you had previously mentioned how much you adored young seals and manatees, he now had the perfect idea to take you to the aquarium.

First date Aran Ojiro who, when it was time to come and pick you up, brought flowers for you and your mother and who spoke to your mother for at least 15 minutes to reassure her that you would be safe and would return before the streetlights turned on. Who races to open the door for you before you could even reach the front door while your mother laughed at the two of you from the doorway of the kitchen.

First date Aran Ojiro noticed how happy you looked when the two of you arrived at the aquarium and knew this was the perfect decision. who kept staring at you as you told him interesting details about numerous sea species as he paid for your tickets, beaming with excitement.

First date Aran Ojiro who smiled when you asked him and turned to look at you. “Did you know that sharks have microscopic teeth all over their bodies called dermal denticles? Their skin is as rough as sandpaper because of this”. You applied pressure with your palms to the glass enclosures. "No, I didn't, However, could you please elaborate more?”. Aran asked while shifting slightly to you as you begin to explain some more.

First date Aran Ojiro who, after leaving the aquarium, took you to get ice cream, and as the two of you sat on the curb a short distance from the ice cream cart, the two of you began playing 21 questions while laughing at each other's questions and responses. "Okay, what would you name your autobiography if you had one?". Aran asked while wiping his mouth with a napkin. “Um, I’ll name it Love, y/n". You answered while biting into your cone, "Why love, y/n?" Aran asked while raising an eyebrow. "Because it’ll be like a love letter from me to whoever’s watching". You smiled while answering, and Aran laughed while smiling along with you.

First date Aran Ojiro who, with you in tow, arrived at your house five minutes before the streetlights came on. Who walked you to your door and stood with you there for at least 30 seconds trying to see how to ask if you guys can go on a second date while also wondering if this one went okay. Who squeaked slightly in surprise as you lean forward and kiss his cheek while saying "Same time Next Friday, okay". Before walking into your house with a smile on your face while looking back slightly to wave a goodbye at him.

First date Aran Ojiro who, despite likely never admitting it, walked home with a smile on his face and a little hop in his step.
