thorn was not the kind of person who showed any kind of vulnerability to others. she was more a keep it buried deep inside and scream about it later or pour it all into a song kind of girl, but sometimes things set her off without any warning. just because she has been mostly clean, give or take a drink or two and one minor relapse when they first got stuck, didn’t mean there wasn’t urges. being trapped in evermore has been the hardest challenge of her life to not use and as much as she tries to bury the urges and bury her feelings until there is nothing but a fake god-like complex, she wasn’t always good at it. in fact, sometimes she was so awful at it she had to make a trip to the rage cage for a good few hours of destroying shit until she felt nothing.

tonight was one of those nights. she was trying to get to the rage cage, trying to suppress the fact that she felt like she was falling apart, but she honestly didn’t know if she was going to make it. she made it right to the block before it before stopping completely and dropping to the ground. she didn’t cry, she never cried, but she pressed herself against the wall of a building and sank to the ground, pulling her knees to her chest. deep breaths, she was trying to ignore the agony her body was deciding to put her through, it was her own fault, her relapse haunting her more than anything and her doctor being far away from this place. she really needed to get a new one here but that meant she was admitting to being trapped and that made her want to use more.

she was lost in her head, losing her shit, shaking on the ground as if it were the middle of winter. a panic attack was looming but she didn’t want to do this here, so she just fought it even though she could feel like she was losing the battle. she had been lucky that no one had seen her or noticed her like this, but she knew she didn’t have forever. she buried her head into her chest, trying to breathe, but then she heard someone clear their throat and her head shot back up. “nothing to see here, move along,” she mumbled, even though she didn’t even sound convinced in her words. “please don’t...i’ll move in a minute...just need to...just need a minute....”
