Gallagher had his full attention on Kaveh, his own drink sitting untouched as well. He let Kaveh’s words hang in the air for a few moments- by all account it was likely seconds, but it felt like an eternity.

“Yeah. I know you’re not a native. Because I am. You think I don’t know everyone who actually lives here?” Even if not personally, he could probably name anyone on-sight.

“I travelled the galaxy when I was younger. I was looking for somethin’, too.” A shrug as he finally turned to his drink.

“Never did. Hope you do.”

Roxy had a tendency to tag after him when they were at the same lecture, whether he was the speaker at it or not. In this case, they'd ended up sitting together, or rather, she'd come in after him, saw he had a free seat beside him and helped herself.

As they walked, he was talking about the subject they'd just heard about (robotics, and the speaker was painfully behind Ratio's own research). Something he'd said made Roxy stop, and a few steps later, he noticed and turned back.

And then her lips were on his. He stood there for the couple seconds the kiss lasted. And then, "Did that satisfy whatever idle curiosity you had?"

Jing Yuan was nodding off over his paperwork when she came in, and at her voice, he let out a surprised noise and lifted his head.

“Hmm? Sure.” He set the papers aside for now. “Come and join me for a while. Perhaps you can keep me awake better than all this work I have to do.”

It was probably much too late for Neuvillette to be drinking coffee, but he still had paperwork to do and cases to look over that were being heard in the next few days. Just as he took another sip from his mug, there came a knock at his door.

"Come in," he said, not putting his drink down yet. As soon as he saw Setsuka, he put the mug down and turned back to his work. "My apologies. Court adjourning for the day does not mean my workday is over."

As soon as she reached his desk, she took the hand he'd been holding his coffee with and kissed him briefly.

He gazed at her for a moment, and then, "...did you need something?"

He could smell the food before he even opened the door, and they'd had a good meal together. Even for Natalee's usual cooking it was special, and when she told him to wait while she went to get something, he was expecting some sort of present.

Well, he certainly considered it a present.

A grin tugged at his lips as she slipped back on his lap, wearing nothing but a skimpy set of lingerie.

"Aw, all for me?" he teased, pressing his lips to her neck.

Natalee was hardly the only or first person to give him chocolate for the holiday. She was one of the few to do so in person, however, so she at least got points for that.

He gave her that lazy smile of his as he took what was offered.

“Happy Valentine’s day to you as well, Miss Natalee,” he said. “I’m not making your many boyfriends jealous by accepting this, am I?” Yup there’s the tease.

Argenti was far from someone with low self-esteem. In fact, he knew he was handsome, kind, and powerful. But those were just things expected of someone in his position, as far as he was concerned. To praise him for them would be like praising water for being wet.

Still, hearing Kaveh say something like this hit his heart right dead-center. He moved to wrap his arms around the man, pulling him into a hug as they lay there together, dizzy from lingering kisses.

“As am I to you,” he murmured as he tilted Kaveh’s head up and into another kiss. “You are absolutely divine…”

The sudden statement caught him off-guard, and he glanced to Kira. They'd been finishing their business on the Xianzhou, and Dan Heng was mostly staying out of sight. Which seemed to be what Kira wanted, and he'd been fine with her hanging around.

"The past is the past," he said. "I'd rather you not worry about it."
