the way back to dawn winery from his beloved tavern at this time of night would surely be met with its fair share of surprises, especially when diluc couldn't help the stolen glances every now and then. it couldn't be helped when the man had wormed his way into earning his affections— whether or not childe was cognizant of this was something just beyond his reach. ever since they'd met, there had always been tension and flirtations, toeing the line between just joking and being entirely too serious. it became astonishingly clear once childe had arrived once more at his front door in the dead of night, only to let him enact the punishment he'd promised for the kiss he'd stolen. now, diluc cursed himself for allowing himself to regret not kissing him then and there.

' remember when i told you never to.. do anything you won't regret again? ' his steps would cease along the trail they walked, heart racing with the anticipation of perhaps the beginning of a new regret, but it all happened far too quickly to be taken back. diluc's gloved hand gently took the eleventh harbinger's within his own, tugging gently until his own crimson gaze was face to face with the depths of the sea held within childe's, and while standing on the balls of his feet, his lips met the taller man's. it was nothing to compare to their last kiss, but one the ragnvindr heir felt all too necessary.
