So the one reason to go to Arkansas is to drive through a town named "Flippin," where everything sounds like a euphemism. Flippin Fire Dept. Flippin School. Flippin Police. Etc.

While that does sound charming, I don't know that justifies a trip to Arkansas

#when I was considering moving to georgia #a place I had not been yet #I was at this hole in the wall thai restaurant with a friend #and the tables were soooo close together #and there was a couple next to us #and the one boyfriend was just like hissing that he was NOT going to move to Arkansas #he didn't care HOW good his bf's job offer was #he was NOT GOING #he could get a job ANYWHERE ELSE #and while GA is not quite on the same level as Arkansas I was like gosh that is what i'm feeling right now #it's soooo far south #anyway I did move to GA and it was fine #although that feels disingenuous #I very rarely left the city and in the city I very rarely met anyone who was actually FROM GA #this one time I stopped for gas in what is apparently a small shitty town #and I'm white but apparently I was OBVIOUSLY not from around there #because there were like five old men sitting at the bar of the little gas station restaurant #who stopped talking when I walked in and just... watched me #as I bought a snack for the road and asked where the bathroom was #just silently disapprovingly watching this outsider... utilize a gas station #the girl working the register seemed apologetic #when i went back out to my car I could see all them watching me from the window #so I do think there are parts of GA that straight up suck #and had I been a different race I think my safety would have been in question that day #but Atlanta was fine for the most part #weirdly full of people from Chicago

I’ve been watching the Shining Girls on and off because a) takes place in Chicago and b) do enjoy an Elizabeth Moss performance but. you can tell they got like some parts of Chicago right. but then other parts…. oof. painful for a local

#like one that sent me laughing during a serious scene:#’you were in wicker park?’ ‘yeah by Monroe’#BITCH WHAT?????#if you’re that far west (Damen give or take)#and at MONROE #you’re about 2+ miles south of wicker park #and then it’s the combo of her working at the sun times (in its old location right in streeterville/river north lol)#as a RECORDS GIRL #but still living in some nebulous west town location #and yeah the story takes place in like 80s/90s/aughts/?#but like. what are these buildings Toronto???#and at no point does she use tokens at the L (which were stopped in the late 90s)#the bear is probably the most accurate about Chicago #excepting ONE conversation about the expressways (which if you interpret it differently it’s correct)#and ONE firing off of rent lowering gunshots in river north #though to be honest river north always feels like lipstick on a pig #there are some fucking dives there (I’ve been to them)#thoughts? thoughts

vibrating bc I just realized it'd be very feasible to see one of my favorite bands live for the first time later this year

#concert-going has always been so hard bc I'd always have to haul ass back to chicago to see anything. when I lived in my old college town #and for the past few years I've mostly been too broke to buy tickets for anything anyway #but I live downtown in a different city now #a city where bands come sometimes...#they're gonna be a bus ride away and I could afford to go #not gonna buy the tickets yet bc a 50 dollar purchase is intimidating. but.#absolutely worth making that purchase in a paycheck or two #even with my mixed feelings on their newer stuff. seeing the front bottoms live would be a transcendent fucking experience for me #I wonder what I'd have to do to bribe them into playing joanie lmao #fr tho I'm so hyped about this #it's gonna be on a work night. but even so #I can do it!!#it's such a miracle living in a place I actually like and having a job that pays me liveably #holy shit #invasion of the frogs

Castro-Urdiales, Castro Urdiales, or simply Castro, is a coastal town and municipality located in northern Spain, in the autonomous community of Cantabria. It borders on the east and southeast with the Biscayan municipalities of Musques, Sopuerta, Trucíos and Arcentales; on the west and southwest, with the Cantabrian municipality of Liendo; and to the south, with Guriezo. The city is located 75 km from Santander (Cantabria), and 35 km from the town of Bilbao (Vizcaya).

With an area of around 96 km², it is one of the most populated coastal municipalities on the Cantabrian coast with 32,069 inhabitants (INE as of 1 January 2019); in Cantabria only Santander and Torrelavega have more population (see table).

Castro-Urdiales in turn is the capital of the municipality. It is located 19 m above sea level.

Interior shot of tiered book galleries at Hild Regional Library 4544 North Lincoln Avenue. (now the Old Town School of Folk Music)

I knew I had this image but it took me awhile to locate it after earlier posting the picture of the guitar toting rabbit walking outside the building. This is the second floor; there were another 2 levels of tiered galleries on the 1st floor, all surrounded by an arc of windows facing the Oakley Avenue rear of the building. Fond memories of this place. I worked here a couple years in the long long ago.

One thing I hate about me personally writing fics is the timelining/overthinking:

Because on the one hand, who cares about the Claires and Tape World store schedules right? BUT ON THE OTHER...when Eddie goes back to school in the fall, will that cause some distance between him and R? He's already closing most nights during the summer, or having some mids (autocorrect keeps saying kids FUCK OFF), but he's also just the Keyholder...so when do Kyle and the ASMs work? WHO IS WORKING WHAT SHIFT ON BLACK FRIDAY?

And then on the other side...when does Mindy work? Is Mindy working the day shift most of the times so she can be home with the kids for dinner? Does that leave more opportunity for little dates for Eddie and R? Is Chrissy only getting 1 shift per week? DOES STACEY HAVE KEYS? (she doesn't...But the unseen and unnamed key holder is interchangeable with any of the Sales Associates from the tag list at any given time).

ALSO am I giving R a whole family tree for the same freaking chapter that caused THIS STUPID SCHEDULE CONUNDRUM I just put myself in?

WHY DID I GIVE HER A NONNA? AND WHY DO I HAVE A WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE OPEN ABOUT THE ITALIAN DIASPORA WHEN I COULD HAVE JUST BEEN LIKE "meh, lets leave it at that"? WHY DID I TAKE MY ZIA TO ITALIAN MASS THAT ONE SUNDAY AND GET THIS IDEA?

WHY DO I HAVE ANCESTRY.COM OPEN SO I CAN LOOK AT ELLIS ISLAND RECORDS? WHY AM I DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE ON FIND A GRAVE? WHY DO I HAVE ZILLOW OPEN LOOKING AT WHEN HOUSES IN THIS ONE SUBURB WERE BUILT?

I need to go to bed also.
