There's a season alight with its own, strange shimmer Of misted sun, most tenderly warm. People call it Indian summer And it rivals the spring itself in charm.
Already the flying gossamer's clinging Lightly, warily round the face… How full is the tone of the late birds' singing! How fierce and festive the flower-beds blaze!
The great rains have long since passed in thunder, The dark, silent field has yielded its More often a glance strikes a spark of wonder More seldom, but blacker the jealous fits fall.
O generous wisdom of Indian summer, I welcome you gratefully, but: Do you hear, My lost love, where are you? Where are you? Come, answer! But the woods have grown silent, the stars more austere…
You see now—the season of stardust is over. I suppose it is time that we parted—and yet It is only just now I've begun to discover How to love and to cherish, forgive—and forget.
Indian Summer by Olga Bergholz

Astrological Outlook and Character Analysis for Individuals with a May 16th Birthday
They are extremely grasping, touchy and close to home individuals. High heart and consideration are the principal attributes of these individuals. In any case, they can be severe and corrupt, and notwithstanding their tranquil disposition they battle for power and authority. They have an unwavering confidence in their own power and are persuaded of their capacities; they are not exceptionally held. They need to carry on with a public existence and spread their social movement. Satisfying social obligations gives them delight and fulfillment, however they likewise appreciate harmony and significance, and they are fit for resistance and graciousness. They have numerous companions and colleagues, yet these must be helpful. Business associations with companions will bring them misfortunes. A portion of your concerns are brought about by foes. Monetary issues are not especially great in your childhood. Their material circumstance works on halfway through their lives. They will need congruity in marriage. My lame attempt in translation of Olga Bergholz poem. She was a Russian poet who survived Leningrad blockade.
***
You know, this anxious quiet still frightens me more
Than everything else that was left after war.
So quiet that every thought of this war
Is louder than a cry, a howl, or a roar.
People growled, and crawled, and writhed here with pain.
Their blood rose above the ground, hardly drained…
Now it’s just quiet. So quiet that it seems -
Forever and ever It will stay like this.
No ploughman, no farmer, no working man
Will ever return to this quiet land.
It’s quiet and silent, it’s not death and not life.
It’s cutting me deeper than any sharp knife.
It’s not death and not life—it’s hardest despair
That mute us, deprive us even from prayers.
This anxious silence is innocent victim’s revenge—
Their knowledge and memories hidden behind the death edge.

At one end an eternal flame wavers, transparent in the sunshine; at the other a statue of a broad-hipped woman in a long dress stands outlined against clouds and sky. The frieze behind her is carved with famous, untrue words from [Olga] Berggolts: 'No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten'.
Leningrad: the Epic Siege of World War II, 1941-1944, by Anna Reid.

Wake as you will, but wake in me,— in the cold, in the voiceless depths of me.
I will not beg for words, but give me a sign that you are still alive.
Not for long — just a moment of your time. If not a verse, just a sigh, just a cry.
Just a whisper or just a moan. Just the muffled clink of your chains.
To Song by Olga Bergholz

Quiero tan intensamente que alguien sea feliz
Allí, donde yo sufrí tanto.
Que posea todo lo que me fue denegado,
y todo a lo que renuncié por la guerra.

Note
I'm the anon yesterday, thanks a lot for sharing your thought!! "Institutions will never love you and do not deserve your loyalty" is a theme I can subscribe to! On another note, since you're very well-read, I'm just curious if you're interested in the works of Olga Bergholz, who has been called the voice of Leningrad Siege. Not sure if she's known (at all) in the English world. Her love poems were very popular in my original country during the cold war thanks to some talented translators.
*finally goes through my inbox after a bazillion days*
I had not heard of her at all, so thank you so much for mentioning her! Her poetry looks really interesting, and I am very interested in stuff about Leningrad during the siege- for the purpose of the Blackbird companion fic I am planning to write about it, but also just in general. It was a truly awful aspect of the war and, like much of what happened on the Eastern Front, not particularly well-known in the west.

Mùa hè rớt
[OLGA BERGHOLZ]
