He hasn’t checked since that summer where he desperately checked it like a lifeline nearly every hour. Hoping beyond hope the a would come in and that he and Jack could begin their life together. But it hadn’t, and instead the memory of the J remains sketched behind his eyelids like a sick joke forever a part of his genetic makeup.

i still haven’t quite recovered from this experience but i just wanted to let you all know that before reading the final update for Check Please last week I had started playing Beyonce's Halo in the background in Bitty’s honor to make myself cry get in the mood and somehow managed to line up the panels of the comic to the music and since the whole endeavor ruined me emotionally, i thought hey you know what would be evil fun? why not make a video out of it so you all could experience and sob enjoy with me too (make sure you turn sound on for the full experience)

Dialogue from The Wire (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, 2x22)

I think this quote fits Jack/Parse really well because Parse is still seeking resolution about Jack’s feelings towards him before the draft. How much of their relationship was real? How much of it was an act so no one would look into his addiction and anxiety? In my AU, Jack replies that it was all real, even the lies about wanting to be with Parse and always being friends. He had meant it, even if he couldn’t follow through.
