How to Create Ambient Pads and Atmospheres: Sound Design Techniques for Lush Soundscapes
Ambient pads and atmospheres are essential in creating expansive, lush soundscapes in music production. Whether you’re producing ambient, cinematic, or even electronic genres, these elements add depth, mood, and texture to your tracks. Crafting the perfect pad or atmospheric sound requires a blend of sound design techniques, creativity, and an understanding of the tools at your disposal. In this post, we'll dive into the key techniques to create immersive pads and atmospheres for your productions.
1. **Choosing the Right Synth or Sound Source**
The foundation of any great pad or atmospheric sound starts with the sound source. Most digital audio workstations (DAWs) come with built-in synths, but there are also many third-party synths designed for ambient sounds. Here are a few popular options:
- **Serum:** A versatile wavetable synthesizer that allows for rich, evolving sounds.
- **Omnisphere:** Known for its extensive library of atmospheric sounds and complex textures.
- **Massive X:** Great for designing deep, expansive pads with intuitive controls.
- **Absynth:** Excellent for creating evolving pads and otherworldly textures.
While these synths are ideal, you can also experiment with recorded samples of nature, instruments, or vocal pads, then manipulate them into atmospheric sounds using effects and processing.
2. **Oscillator Selection and Tuning**
Once you have a synth, your next step is selecting the oscillators that will form the basis of your pad or atmosphere. Pads typically use multiple oscillators layered together to create a rich, thick sound. Here’s how to get started:
- **Use Sine or Saw Waves:** For smooth, flowing pads, start with sine waves. For a richer, brighter sound, saw waves are a good choice.
- **Detune Oscillators:** Detuning one or more oscillators slightly from the fundamental pitch creates a subtle chorusing effect, adding depth and movement to the sound.
- **Layer Oscillators:** Combine different waveforms (e.g., sine, saw, or triangle) or even mix in different octaves to create more complex, lush textures.
3. **Applying Envelopes for Smooth Transitions**
To achieve the characteristic soft attack and long release of ambient pads, it’s essential to shape your sound using the amplitude envelope. This determines how the sound evolves over time.
- **Slow Attack:** Increase the attack time to let the sound fade in slowly, giving it a smooth, evolving quality.
- **Long Release:** Set a long release time so the pad fades out gradually after the note is released, creating a continuous and flowing soundscape.
- **Sustain and Decay:** Keep the sustain level high, as pads are typically designed to hold their intensity over time without decaying too quickly.
4. **Filter Movement and Modulation**
Filter modulation plays a crucial role in adding movement to your pad or atmosphere, preventing it from sounding static or monotonous. By using filter envelopes and LFOs (Low-Frequency Oscillators), you can create evolving sounds that change subtly over time.
- **Low-Pass Filter:** Apply a low-pass filter to remove high frequencies and create a warmer, more atmospheric sound. Automate the filter cutoff to slowly open and close over time, adding movement.
- **LFO Modulation:** Assign an LFO to modulate the filter cutoff, panning, or pitch. Slow LFO rates (e.g., 0.1 to 0.3 Hz) are ideal for gradual, evolving changes that make your pad feel alive.
5. **Using Reverb and Delay to Enhance Space**
Reverb and delay are your best friends when it comes to creating lush, spacious atmospheres. They help push sounds into the background, making them feel like they’re floating in space.
- **Reverb:** Use a large hall or plate reverb to create a sense of depth and space. Experiment with the decay time and wet/dry balance to achieve the desired atmosphere. Long decay times work well for creating expansive soundscapes.
- **Delay:** Add a subtle delay to give the pad a sense of echo and distance. Stereo delay can also help widen the sound, making it feel more immersive. You can sync the delay to the tempo of your track for rhythmic patterns or use unsynced delays for a more organic feel.
6. **Layering Sounds for Complexity**
One of the best ways to achieve complex, evolving soundscapes is through layering. By combining multiple pads, textures, or sound sources, you can create a richer and more dynamic sonic experience.
- **Blend Different Textures:** Combine smooth, tonal pads with noisier, more textured elements to create contrast. For example, layer a lush synth pad with a field recording of wind or distant noise.
- **Octave Layers:** Add another layer of the same pad sound but pitched up or down an octave to increase the harmonic complexity and give your sound more depth.
7. **Automation and Evolving Soundscapes**
To make your pads and atmospheres more engaging, consider automating various parameters over time. Automation allows your sound to evolve naturally and helps maintain listener interest.
- **Filter Automation:** Slowly automate the filter cutoff to open or close throughout the track, adding tension and release.
- **Reverb and Delay Automation:** Gradually increase the reverb size or delay feedback to give the sense that the pad is expanding or contracting over time.
- **Volume Automation:** Fade your pads in and out subtly to create swells that move with the dynamics of the song.
8. **Using Granular Synthesis for Unique Textures**
Granular synthesis is a powerful technique for creating highly textured and evolving pads. It works by taking small "grains" of sound from a sample and manipulating them in various ways. This can lead to some truly otherworldly atmospheres.
- **Start with a Sample:** Load a vocal, instrument, or field recording into a granular synth, then experiment with grain size, pitch, and density to create new textures.
- **Stretch and Warp:** Granular synthesis excels at time-stretching, allowing you to take a short sound and stretch it out into a long, ambient pad.
Final Thoughts
Creating ambient pads and atmospheres is both an art and a science, requiring a balance between sound design techniques and creative expression. By layering sounds, applying modulation, and using effects like reverb and delay, you can build expansive soundscapes that transport listeners into another world. Whether you’re crafting music for film, ambient projects, or adding texture to electronic tracks, these techniques will help you design lush, immersive pads and atmospheres that elevate your music to the next level.
So, fire up your synths, experiment with these techniques, and let your imagination guide you in creating soundscapes that captivate and inspire.

MTiP Project
(Note: A synth called omnisphere is used in this project, so the project might not be able to load up correctly. Other effects plugins, mixer channels, etc... should load normally)
Why I chose to perform solo
The main reason why I chose to perform solo is because I have more control. Everybody has their own strengths, and the main focus of my work here is improvisation, so I feel like going solo might be the best because my strength is improvisation. And I don’t intend to record live samples because of the song type of my project, therefore I feel like the project is more suited to one person performing than a group of person performing.
Song Structure
The performance song is an ethnic song fused with hardcore (hardstyle) elements. The song is divided into two parts: the first part consists of only ethnic and other acoustic instruments, and the second part is more drum-heavy, consisting of both hardstyle and ethnic elements.
Instruments used in the song
In the first part, a marimba, lute (in tremelo), piano, choir is used. There are also some ambient soundscapes used in the performance. For drums, only a kick and snare is used, for more simplicity. A solo rock guitar is also used. In the second part, in addition to the instruments used in the first part, a hardstyle/frenchcore kick, hi-hats, a second set of kick and snare, Rhodes piano, a pluck and some sound effects are used. I mainly use omnisphere, a software synth for this project.
Pre-Performance
I set up a lot of things before the performance, on the project file. First of all, I wanted to do a fixed length looping in my performance. When I press the record button to record something, I have to initially press the record button again to stop recording, and that produces a problem. When what I play on the keyboard is very busy and using both hands, I do not have a third hand to press the record button. I used a external plugin that is created by max msp, in .amxd format. When I set the clip length, it automatically stops recording after a certain length after I press the record button to record something. For example, when I set the clip length to 4 bars, it will stop recording after 4 bars after I press the record button. I also set the bar length on the top left corner to 4 bars. This means that after I press the recording button, it will wait a 4-bar period until it starts recording. Say I press record at 2.1.1, it will wait till 5.1.1 to start recording. Since the 4-bar period is from 1.1.1 – 4.4.4, 5.1.1 – 8.4.4, etc… I set instrument racks to help reduce the number of tracks needed. For example, in my hardstyle kick track, there are two samples inside the track: a Frenchcore kick sample and a hardstyle kick sample. I do this to allow myself to play the two samples at the same time, and also that I do not need to record the Frenchcore kick and the hardstyle kick separately. This is also used in the lute/rhodes track and rock guitar/bass guitar track, so that I can play two instruments at the same time (this was the original plan). And I also used the instrument rack for stacking sfx together, that way I can play two sfx as the same time with one key on the keyboard.
I did some simple mixing and mastering. For the piano, I added a high pass filter at around 500hz to it to avoid muddiness. For the marimba, I cut a little bit of the lows to also avoid muddiness and increase clarity of the instrument. For kick and snare, I cut off anything drastically under 50hz. I put a very, very slight reverb on the hardstyle/frenchcore kick track, and cut off anything at around 500-600 hz to allow some space for other instruments to kick in. High pass filters are also used on the pluck, the lute and the Rhodes piano. For the
ambient soundscape, I also applied a high pass filter at around 300hz, then cut off the highs at around 5k slightly, this is because there are certain effects used on the soundscape and I don’t want it to interfere with other instruments that much when I play with the effects, since the frequency content will change. For the drums including kick drum, hi hats and snare, I used compression to help bring out the punchiness. Also for the choir, the kick is sidechained to the choir to give the choir a ducking effect. On the master track I put a multiband compressor to squash dynamics. I made the low end louder in volume since the low end is the source of fullness and I have to balance it out since I used a lot of high pass filters on individual tracks. The multiband compressor is used to make the track sound fuller. Then I put a limiter at the end of the chain at -2 db ceiling, 3db gain, to avoid over loudness, since velocity sensitivity is enabled some instruments might be played louder than other instruments.
I used a simpler to cut the breakcore drum loop into different pieces so that each key in the keyboard triggers a different kind of drum, e.g. hi-hat, kick drum, snare etc.
I used effect rack for the lute/rhodes track. I grouped different effect plugins together. I set different knobs to macros for better control: a flanger and transmission plugin is used in that track, the phaser depth controls macro 1, the phaser rate controls macro 2, the transmission LFO rate controls macro 3, and macro 4 is the knob which decides which effect is affecting the sound - the chain selector. I applied fade in/fade out for the effects, so that when I switch from one effect to the other using macro 4, the action is done smoothly. I then map the knobs to the APC40, which I am using for the performance. Knob 1 controls macro 1, knob 2 controls macro 2, and so on. I also inserted a grain delay on the ambient soundscape track. Knob 1 and 2 controls the grain delay parameters. Finally I inserted a reverb on the rock guitar track. When I stop playing the rock guitar, at that moment I want the reverb tail present, so I mapped the reverb decay knob to the APC40 so that when I stop playing, I turn the knob all the way up and create a long reverb tail.
Finally, I set an aggregate device combining the headphones and the speakers, so that only the headphones will play the metronome, but the speakers will not. Cue out is the headphones, and master out is the speakers.
During Performance
During Performance, I am using the APC40 and an 88-key keyboard. The 88-key keyboard is for me improvising (the rock guitar part). When I play two instruments at the same time, if I use a keyboard that is not as big as an 88-key keyboard, things will be very limited. Also, it is better to use an 88-key keyboard for a typical performance like mine because I use a lot of instruments at different (pitch) registers, for example the bass is at low registers of the keyboard, whilst the rock guitar is at mid-high registers of the keyboard. There is no need to adjust the pitches of the instruments on the synth manually. The APC40 is used to control the record buttons. Since everything is auto mapped to ableton live, there is no need to set up MIDI routing manually.
Technical Difficulties
There are a few technical difficulties that I encounter when I am doing this project. The main problem is that the fixed recording length plugin (that one which is made with max msp) has bugs. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t - the plugins sometimes forgets to stop recording after the fixed length. I tried to tackle this using different methods such as trying out follow actions but they don’t work the way I wanted it to work. Therefore, I will just use the plugin and hope for the best that it doesn’t bug during the performance. Also, when I play a note on the keyboard, it plays twice sometimes. One time when I press the key, and another time when I release the key. I tried troubleshooting it and I think this might relate to a bug in ableton, or some MIDI setting issues - but I still do not know the solution to fix this.
There is not much time for me to book studios and practice also, so it’s a bit hard to adapt to the APC40.
During performance there are more technical difficulties that I encounter:
Speakers were too bassy so I couldn’t hear the rhythm well (this doesn’t happen when I am practicing for the performance).
The fixed length recording length plugin bugged numerous times during my performance, which again doesn’t happen that much when I am practicing in the studios (I did test run the plugin a lot of times, the bug only happens roughly once or twice every one performance)
Also, I cannot set the metronome audio signal going to the headphones, so a hi-hat is used instead, which is played through the speaker. This creates a problem: when the hi-hat is blended in with other instruments, I cannot hear the hi-hat at all.
These problems made the performance rather unsuccessful.
I had to stop the performance because there were files missing from my computer and I cannot continue the song without these samples, since these samples are the most important features (and most of the features) of the second part of the song.
I should’ve checked if the samples are online in my computer before performing (which I didn’t think of at that time). It’s good that I have brought a backup hard drive for the missing samples.
I could’ve also used the speakers to practice when in the studios, and could’ve set the cue out and master out earlier.

“WHITE NOIZE” EP REVIEW
EP Review by Dawood Kroutz

Wine might be banned but the discussion through the grapevines is very much in demand. You may ask who is responsible for this intoxicating supply…
Coming at the world with an energy and frankness South African Hip-Hop has not experienced in recent memory, the EP ‘WHITE NOIZE’ is fast becoming one of the most acclaimed projects in the country.

Track 1 - ‘WHITE NOIZE’
https://soundcloud.com/memlamli/white-noize?in=memlamli/sets/white-noize
We assume the sonic journey with track number one carrying the title of the EP, “WHITE NOIZE”, loosely defined as; “a constant background noise, especially one that drowns out other sounds”. A fitting title, encapsulating the grace and voracity these artists display their work. Throughout the duration of the opening track the term ”Siyaphambili’, “we are moving forward” is constantly repeated and absorbed into the listeners subconscious like a mantra. It becomes apparent that the artists are making their intentions as clear as the crystal blue skies (see track 4 ‘CERULEAN’) that they are aiming for greater heights, forging ever forward and never looking back. They are hungry and have a point to prove (to themselves, I understood and not to the world). The cover art speaks volumes too - as if they are telling the listeners that they have arrived (cue the grand entrance) and that they are not here to make a mark, but rather, to leave a scar. With this, the in-your-face and fearless sound is present, combined with an abrasive masculine energy but still very much creative in energy.
Edging into an up-tempo sound I gather a Rockstar vibration elicited at 3:09 minutes into the song. The deep “omnispheric” sound effect of the bass, combined with the kick drums and snares, give a sort of rocking-chair feeling and with this, the new-school Hip-Hop sound emerges but with the elements of a classic Hip-Hop sound simultaneously present.
The rhyme scheme is professional, the delivery is far from monotonous and the flows chosen throughout the duration of the song are impeccable. I can deeply appreciate all the sonic variations present throughout the song, it takes me on a melodic experience when listening through. The lyrics and flow compliment the beat perfectly. The lyrics sort of crescendo with the tempo as the song progresses. The deep touches of distorted bass add to the Rockstar energy emitted from the track (at 2:44 minutes an example of this is showcased) which graciously assists in complementing the sound and lyrical aspects as a whole collective. Technical execution is upheld, the artist’s vocal performance coupled with the producer’s finely executed mix, make a cohesive and retail ready song. A quality of sound capable of competing amongst commercial cats of the industry.

Track 2 - INTERLUDE 4 YOU
https://soundcloud.com/memlamli/interlude-4-you?in=memlamli/sets/white-noize
The energy from track one carries through to ‘INTERLUDE 4 YOU’. The drive and ambition is still very prevalent here but the artists showcase a softer side of their sound. They are writing for the mothers. A theme that becomes prevalent in this body of work is that, the artists are growing to realize that what they are doing is bigger than them, that their influence reaches beyond the bounds of their circle, and they have an impact larger than what they once thought. As much as I hear a ferocious flame in-your-face attitude within their voices, I attach a deep sense of gratitude to it as well.
There is a definite sense of familiarity throughout track 1 and 2: the drumming patterns are consistent even though the overall sound is different between the two songs - the producer successfully blends the message, identical instruments, sounds and patterns to give a contrasting but cohesive catalog of songs in the EP. This highlights the fine technical ability possessed by the producer and the remarkable storytelling prowess of the artists throughout this production. The switch up at 1:11 minutes into the song, coupled with the robotic/distortion effect on the vocals bring in the next artist perfectly. The drums and bass in this specific section compliment this effect really well too. The predominant use of the filtered and robotic effect on the background vocals with a touch of reverb serve as a key characteristic for each verse to really stand out (this is shared throughout the EP). The melodic vocals that are present have been carefully crafted and engineered to suit the levels of the instrumental. This song in its totality sets the tone for the Hip-Hop/R&B-infused section we experience in the latter half of the EP.

Track 3 - ‘TAKE FLIGHT’
https://soundcloud.com/memlamli/take-flight?in=memlamli/sets/white-noize
Floating into the third track, ‘TAKE FLIGHT’ opens up with atmospheric pads and hard hitting drums before the robust vocals and hook enter followed by a smooth verse with a melodic approach to his delivery. The song discusses a sense of belonging that can be achieved when accepting your circumstances. It appears the artists find belonging in elevation of all kinds, they are not afraid of aiming for unbelievable heights and take often take it “higher than a kite”, waking up and chasing the sun is the motto here, carpe diem, if you will. I also get the feeling that they do not follow the status quo and with this, they are able to dictate the pace of their dreams and chase it accordingly. The old adage of “what goes up, must come down” seems to be done away with in this song, the laws of gravity are bent here and I am reminded that what goes up does not necessarily have to come down if you have a skyrocket mentality.
When it comes to the production, a masterful transition occurs at 1:58 minutes into the song. The central deep/extraterrestrial sounding bass comes alive once again, especially during the transition, it sounds sonically pleasing and blended in the mix well. The outro makes the song even more memorable.

Track 4 - ‘CERULEAN’
https://soundcloud.com/memlamli/cerulean?in=memlamli/sets/white-noize
The title of each song carries much meaning and when it comes to a body of work, most times even more so. ‘CERULEAN’, that which is a shade of blue, a deep blue in color like the clear sky aligns and rounds up this body of work in a blissful way.
The track transitions well from track 3. The song speaks to the struggles of addiction, the loss of a dear friend, love, self-discovery and finally, to prosperity. “Better days are coming” are the lyrics molding this song and I can hear the artists passion, as mentioned previously, I confidently am of the view they know that what they are doing is bigger than them, and they are still humble enough to realize that when those better days come and that they take their dreams to the heights that for now seem unimaginable, those deep blue skies the naked eye cannot comprehend, that they will still value and appreciate the help of those that got them to where they are.
The production, mixing, arrangement and mastering are incredibly hard to criticize here. The engineer brings a technique modern Hip-Hop has not seen much in the last decade and that is allowing the instrumental to run through without vocals accompanying it in sections this makes the experience much more memorable. This is prevalent throughout the project and in this song I hear it once again at 2:59. the vocal sample coupled with the bass, and reverse elements work well with the top drums, giving the song an oceanic feel. Another contrast is apparent in this song and I am left asking myself do I want to chase my dreams in the sky or fall victim to my addictions that are so easy to access in this ocean… either way, they took me on an introspective journey, questioning myself and reflecting, while vibing out to the instrumental, smooth vocal delivery and catchy hook. The bass seems to be a tad amplified at the end of the back end of the song at 4:54 and that takes me back to the feeling I experienced at 2:59.

My final comments on this body of work: ‘WHITE NOIZE’ inebriated me, ‘INTERLUDE 4 YOU’ calmed my spirit, ‘TAKE FLIGHT’ elevated me once again and ‘CERCULEAN’ reminded me to keep my head to the skies and my knees to the ground. I sum up this EP in two words - Gratitude and Hunger. Published and Edited by Midnight Ohmnia

Run “OmnisphereDataUpdater.pkg” NOTE: This next part requires an external drive (e.g. USB stick) formatted to “FAT-32”. I need omnisphere 2 if someone got a direct link please and how to crack it, can u dm me! Links to LEGAL torrents!
Omnisphere 2. 5 3 Torrent Version
Omnisphere 2. 5 3 Torrent Downloads
• Omnisphere2 Software 2.6.4d – Soundsources 2.6.1c – Patches 2.6.3c • Keyscape Software 1.2.1d – Soundsources 1.0.3c – Patches 1.3.2d • Trilian Software 1.5.0e – Soundsources 1.0.1 – Patches 1.5.0f • Stylus RMX Software 1.9.9c2 • Bob Moog Tribute Library Patches 1.4e
Step 1
Run this release’s setup.exe as an administrator. If this is an update, make sure the path to the plugin is the same as where your old Spectrasonics plugins are stored (older versions must be overwritten). Also, if this is an update, make sure the boxes (STEAM path and SAGE path are where libraries / samples and patches are stored) are unchecked. If your STEAM and SAGE files are located in C: ProgramData Spectrasonics, also make sure the boxes are unchecked.
If you’ve installed Keyscape, Omnisphere, Trilian, and Stylus RMX before, you can probably skip steps 2 and 3 and go to step 4. Before you do this, run the applications to check if they are activated. If not, skip to steps 2 and 3. Step 2: Activate Keyscape, Omnisphere and Trilian Run Keygen for Keyscape, Omnisphere and Trilian Spectrasonics_2048_KeyGen.exe
Since Spectrasonics changed the activation method, the key generator no longer works as expected, but there is a workaround. Launch the app you want to activate (Keyscape, Omnisphere, or Trilian). The activation screen will open. Now click the blue link (click here) at the bottom of the activation screen:
Run “Decoder.exe”:
Now run the Spectrasonics_2048_KeyGen.exe keygen
In the keygen window: paste the call code from the clipboard
In the keygen window: click GENERATE
Copy the generated code from keygen in the application for activation
Press CONTINUE and close the application.
Run the app to check
NOTE: Application crashes may occur during this process, especially Omnisphere. No problem: just repeat these steps
Step 3. Activate Stylus RMX Launch Trillian KeyGen BTW: the torrent download says it’s Trilian KeyGen, but you can use it to activate Stylus RMX and NOT Trilian or Omnisphere. All you need to do is launch the Stylus RMX and activate it with this keygen.

Step 4. Updates of sound sources and patches. Run the included updates in THIS ORDER:
• Omnisphere Soundsource Library Update v2.6.1c • Omnisphere Patch Library Update 2.6.3c • Bob Moog Tribute Patch Library Update v1.4e • Keyscape Soundsource Library Update v1.0.3c • Keyscape Patch Library Update v1.3.1c • Trilian Soundsource Library Update v1.0.1 • Trilian Patch Library Update v1.5.0f

Step 5: Final Verification
Omnisphere 2. 5 3 Torrent Downloads
Disconnect your internet connection and start Omnisphere.
You will see a button CHECK FOR UPDATES.
Now turn on your internet connection
Click CHECK FOR UPDATES and you should see this in your browser

Apr 19, 2017 Omnisphere's default library is great. There is some incredible stuff in there but some of the third-party libraries are simply incredible and blow a lot of the default library out of the water. My personal opinion is that Spectrasonics didn't want to push the envelope with the amount of resources their library required for a single patch.

Nov 17, 2016 There are a lot of omni tutorials actually, there just all split throughout utube, so you have to do a bit of searching, all the vids on Omni 1-1.5 apply to Omni 2 and indeed Omnisphere is a very deep synth. 8 parts,2 layers per part, crazy modulation and crazy effects not to mention all the sound sources that are used as oscillators,it can.

Please note: This video was created on a Mac (OS X 10.8.5) designed to mainly assist Mac OS X 10.7 (and higher) users with locating their 'hidden' Users - Library folder. The video and guide then goes through where to place the additional patches so they are detected in Omnisphere.
Windows PC users can still follow this video to see where to place your additional patches. However you will just need to ensure you have located your Spectrasonics folder and then follow the guide / video from here or please view below.
Overview of Video and Guide Details:
Download your purchased expansion library with the Time+Space Connect installer - for ease select your Desktop when asked where you would like to place these files.
Once the download is finished, open the downloaded contents folder into a window.
For Mac users - To locate the CORRECT location to place your files, from within the Finder menu (across the top of your screen) select 'Go'.
With the Go 'drop-down' menu up on the screen hold down your 'alt' key on your keyboard to 'unhide' the Library folder.
Select the Library folder and double-click the 'Application Support' folder.
Where to place the Patches:
Now locate your 'Spectrasonics' folder and go to 'STEAM', 'Omnisphere', 'Settings Library'.
Here you will find a 'Patches' and a 'Multis' folder.
Double-click the 'Patches' folder.
From your desktop, double-click your downloaded folder to open it into a second window.
Place the two windows next to each other so you can see both windows - your 'Patches' folder and your new content folder.
Saxophone Omnisphere 2 Presets Free
Within the 'Patches' folder, create a new folder and name it after the developer of the library (ILIO, Audiority or The Unfinished). Now double-click this new folder to open it.
Now simply highlight the new patches folders from the second window and drag&drop them into your new folder.
Please note - the Audiority bundle (Trapshere library) also includes bonus Wav files. These are just for your use, Omnisphere does not need them. You can place them with your usual sound library files if you wish.
Please note - The Unfinished libraries contain 'Patches' presets and 'Multis' presets. Please ensure you place the PATCHES into this Patches folder and then go back to the 'Omnisphere' 'Settings Library' window to locate your 'Multis' folder. Then just create a new folder in here called 'The Unfinished' and drag&drop the additional MULTIS into this folder. This stage is not covered in the video.
Now the files are in the correct location. Open Omnisphere in your DAW / music host.

When the Omnisphere interface loads, please press the 'CHECK FOR UPDATES' button (top-left) and ensure all green lights are showing and that you have installed all of the needed updates. Without the latest update, some presets may not work correctly!
Omnisphere 2 Preset Banks
From the Patch Browser within Omnisphere, go to 'Directory' and select your new patches.
Omnisphere 2 Soundbanks
If the developer folder does not show, try refreshing the Omnisphere browser window (with the bottom-left circular arrow button).
