In the city sunlight bounces off the tall glass buildings and on a clear day all those widows become amorphous rectangles of undulating light on the sides of adjacent buildings, sidewalks and streets. This day it was it showed me a new trick. The 1/4 block section just west of a new luxury apartment ( like we need any more of those) and before the Lake Shore Drive exit ramp caught my attention before I got close to my intended destination. Of the photos I took these two stood out. In one the sun is directly behind a tree casting shadows to the west. Yet there is my shadow falling toward the morning sun. In the other the image is again taken from the shadow side of the wooden fence there is a section of fence about the width of the apartment building that is illuminated.

Pure magic!

Standing on the shores of Upper Waterton Lake, my astrophotography dreams came through. The Aurora Borealis with light pillars were visible through my camera lens.

An absolute brilliant night.
