Joe Biden will sign legislation protecting access to abortion care into law if Democrats win control of Congress in midterm elections this fall.
In remarks to a Democratic National Committee event on 18 October, the President announced plans to sign a bill to codify Roe v. Wade protections on the 50th anniversary of the US Supreme Court decision – what he intends to be his first act of 2023.
In June, the nation’s high court struck down precedents established by Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey that affirmed the constitutional right to abortion care.
Following the latest ruling, more than a dozen states have outlawed most abortions or severely restricted access to care, leading to the closures of dozens of clinics. Patients and providers across the US have warned of devastating consequences to losing access to legal abortion, while Democratic officials have made abortion rights central to their midterm campaigns as Republicans mull national abortion restrictions.
“If Republicans get their way with a national ban, it won’t matter where you live in America,” Mr. Biden said on Tuesday. “The only sure way to stop these extremist laws that have put in jeopardy women’s health and rights is for Congress to pass a law.”
Democrats would need to pick up several seats in the currently evenly split US Senate for abortion protections to prevail.
Mr. Biden also said he will veto any anti-abortion legislation passed by a Republican-controlled Congress.
The Democratic-led House of Representatives passed the Women’s Health Protection Act earlier this year, though Senate Republicans have repeatedly obstructed its introduction in that chamber. That bill would codify the right to abortion care as affirmed by Roe v. Wade.
House Democrats were only joined by three Republicans to pass the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act, which would protect the right of abortion patients who live in states that have outlawed or severely restricted care to travel to other states without risking prosecution or legal action in their home states.
The bill also would protect providers and others who help patients travelling out of state for their care.
Legislation would also shield interstate shipments of US Food and Drug Administration-approved drugs used for medication abortion, the most common form of abortion care, accounting for more than half of all abortions in the US.
In a briefing with reporters on Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called Republican-led abortion restrictions “disturbing” and “very dangerous.”
“It’s backwards, again, it’s dangerous and it’s severe, in stark contrast to the President and the commitment that he has to leave these decisions between a woman and her doctor,” she said.
This fall, voters in several states will determine whether their state constitutions include explicit protections for abortion care, while elections for control of state legislatures, governors’ offices and secretaries of state will also determine the fates of abortion access across the US.
In his remarks on Tuesday, President Biden pointed to Kansas voters shooting down a recent anti-abortion ballot measure in that state, signalling the electoral consequences of the Supreme Court’s decision in midterm elections.
“One of the most extraordinary parts of [the Dobbs decision] was when the majority wrote, ‘women are not without electoral or political power.’ Let me tell you something – the Court and extreme Republicans who have spent decades trying to overturn Roe are about to find out,” he said.

Today would have been 50th anniversary of Roe v Wade, but… we don't have those rights anymore. They were taken away by people who screech the most about freedom. It was the first time in US history that established rights have been taken away. Because, you know, freedom. 😒

President Joe Biden promised to codify Roe v. Wade into law if Democrats manage to add Senate seats and hold control of the House of Representatives in November, making it the first bill he would send to the new Congress.
Biden made the pledge at a Democratic National Committee event Tuesday afternoon at The Howard theater in Washington. On a stage surrounded by pro-choice supporters and a huge banner that read “Restore Roe,” the president promised to sign the legislation on Jan. 22, 2023 — the 50th anniversary of the original Roe decision.
We know this is one promise he'll keep and it will work if Dems hold the house and increase their majority in the Senate. The House voted to codify Roe twice, one this year and once last year. It died in the Senate.
My only thing is how many more Senate seats are necessary to even get a vote on the things being filibustered to death because I think they need 66 seats for that and....

Good morning dear friends and fellow tumblr users. I come to you today in a somber mood and ask for prayers. One of the statues of Our Lady outside of my parish was desecrated. A person or persons smeared refuse all over her. It is suspected that this was done considering today is the 50th anniversary of Roe v Wade, but unless or until the perpetrator(s) are discovered, we will not know the exact reason.
Please pray for whoever did this. That whatever their pain, hurt, or problem that spurred them to do such a thing would be resolved. And pray in reparation for what was done.
But at the same time we rejoice, we are blessed when we are insulted, derided, hated, and mistreated because of our faith, for in that we share in the sufferings of Christ. And no matter what anyone does to any statue or icon, Our Lady's purity can never truly be defiled!
Thank you 💙

Over 64 Million Dead…and Counting
Tumblr media
This week is the 50th anniversary of a landmark decision that has (so far) resulted in the deaths of over 64 million Americans. The landmark decision? Roe vs Wade. And the 64 million dead number doesn’t even take into consideration the additional multiple millions of abortions performed outside of the USA since 1973. And, YES we’re aware how this topic cranks up the emotion overload meter from the feminist “My Body, My Choice” crowd. But that doesn’t stop us from writing about it. Especially since the cries of the My Body, My Choice hypocrites went silent over the last 2 years over the Vaxx mandates. Oh!  And let’s not forget the #MeToo hypocrites. Over 64 Million Dead By any standard, 64 Million dead would be considered genocide…especially since the unborn had no way to defend themselves. We know this is a controversial subject but isn’t it ironic that for almost 50 years the thought of overturning Roe v Wade seemed untouchable.  And yet the Supreme Court overturned in in 2022. Why? Because it was based on the fact that science validated that a heartbeat is proof of life.  In Case you missed it, Planned Parenthood * (who is responsible for the vast majority of abortions in the US) realizes that their survival is in jeopardy. (* Side note: Bill Gates Sr. was a Eugenics advocate and a founding Board member of Planned Parenthood along with the racist, Margaret Sanger.  READ: Racism Eugenics and Bill Gates Sr. (HERE)   June 3, 2020 So, maybe Bill Gates Jr. is following in his daddy’s footsteps of population control via sterilization/vaccines. Or maybe this is all a coincidence. Or Maybe JUST MAYBE Roe v Wade being overturned is a sign that there’s still hope in America.  Cue up: Proverbs 16 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. ~Proverbs 6: 16-19~ Ironically (or NOT) the above Scripture is as true today as it was 4,000 years ago. It’s hard to wrap your brain around the thought of “what if” those unborn kids had grown up and contributed great things for the world. We’ll never know. But at least now we have a legitimate chance of reversing this 50-year trend of innocent deaths. Share this with a friend…regardless of their beliefs. They’ll thank YOU later. And remember:   We’re Not Just About Finance But we use finance to give you hope. ******************************** Invest with confidence. STREET CARS MAKING A RESURGENCE
STREET CARS MAKING A RESURGENCE - https://keywestlou.com/street-cars-making-a-resurgence/Streetcars are making a resurgence across the United States. Public transportation of long ago is returning. The resurgence is most obvious in Omaha, Nebraska where the City Council recently voted to proceed with such a project. Warren Buffet is a local resident and opposed the rebirth of street cars in Omaha. His voice though heard was not heeded. The project as approved will cost $306 million. Buffett considered the plan too expensive and inflexible. San Francisco has always had a street car system. Recall the many you have seen in movies involving San Francisco. The street car line there is the historic F Line. I am old enough to recall street cars. We had them in Utica, NY. I rode them in the late 1930's. The demise of the street cars came with the birth of buses. Yesterday was special. I did not know how special it would be till actually having experienced it. Steve and Cindy Thompson invited me over to meet the family. Family involved Rich and Linda Thompson from Alaska and Orlando, Rich and Steve's sister "Sam" from Seattle, and Cindy's sister Christine who resides in Key West. I was the sole outsider. The afternoon the most memorable I have spent in Key West. What a wonderful group of people! Rich and Steve are twins. You would never know it. I think the term is fraternal. Do not look alike at all. However have similar dispositions. If you know Steve, then you are aware what a great guy Rich is. Rich and Linda spend 6 months a year in Alaska and six months in Orlando where they have had a second home for more than 25 years. Rich is an Alaskan fisherman. Salmon and halibut the primary catch. Rich showed me a couple of pictures of halibut he had caught. Normally, 20-30 pounds. The ones he showed me had to be pushing 1,000 or better. They were bigger than many great white sharks. He will be sending me a pic and I will publish it when received. Probably next week. I received a salmon education. Many types. I knew from nothing. He had brought with him from Alaska certain salmon which he prepared and cooked for our entre. Two types. White and red king salmon. Delicious! Rich and Steve have a sister they call Sam. Her real name Sandra. A Seattle resident. Retired after 21 years with the Seattle law firm Perkins, Coie. Considered smart. Not because of her employment. Rather her experience in 1997 as when she appeared on Jeopardy. At "half time," she was ahead of the other contestants. Thought she had it won. So did her family. Got buried in the second half, however. Still considered intelligent by her siblings, however. I thought she was so merely based on our conversations over the afternoon. I have forgotten neither Linda nor Christine. Each contributors in their own way. Nor is Cindy forgotten. A smart tough woman. She and Steve must have had an exciting time together over the years. Searching for a word or two to express my thoughts re the afternoon succinctly, all I can come up with is these were "real people." A long time since I have been with such a group. Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Thousands marched throughout the U.S. in protest of its overturn. The Republicans finally won in their efforts to get rid of Roe. Turns out it is the worst political mistake made by either party in years. Even women who have supported right to life for years, think the Supreme Court decision wrong. Their anti-life feelings re Roe had minimized with the years. The right to protect and control their bodies overcame political and religious fanaticism. The warm weather will slowly turn cold this week. Cold fronts coming in. By thursday night and during friday, temperatures will be in the 50's. The temperatures will remain cold for a few days. Enjoy your day!

Dark clouds hang over Democratic political prospects in the fall as consumers feel the bite of historic inflation, but the GOP may be worse off — facing down the challenges that are about to hit the fan.
The carnage caused by the Capitol insurrection isn’t the only problem that will test the GOP prospects for taking control of Congress in November. The Jan. 6 hearings dominate headlines but the investigation is only one of three major threats the GOP must overcome now to take back control of Congress in November.
The GOP must also contend with blowback from the headwinds that will follow if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade and if the rash of mass murders continue.
The GOP resistance to the investigation of the brazen attempt to undermine the certification of the results of a fair and democratic election, the party’s opposition to women’s reproductive choice as well as universal background checks for gun purchase expose it as the anti-democracy party that doesn’t share the values of most Americans.
HOUSE INQUIRY EXAMINES TRUMP’S ROLE IN CAPITOL COUP
The Republican Party appears content for embattled former-President Donald Trump to be the face of the party. The blemishes on his presidency are front and center in the early stages of the televised Jan. 6 Committee hearings on the failed coup that attempted to upend democracy in America. The hearings have highlighted attempts from Trump to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence to not certify the election results, as well as more than $390 million Trump and his allies raised under the guise the funds would be used to overturn the election.
GOP resistance to the investigation and the party’s defense of Trump fly in the face of public opinion. A recent CBS News national poll found that 7 in 10 Americans thought it was important to find out what happened on the day of the insurrection.
A CBS poll taken last December indicated that an overwhelming number of Americans disapproved of the actions of the Capitol insurrectionists. 2 out of every 3 people said that democracy in the United States was in danger and the Capitol coup was a sign of increasing political violence.
But benefiting the 50th anniversary of the Nixon-inspired Watergate scandal, Republicans continue to stonewall the investigation of the Jan. 6 insurrection.
GOP INACTION ON GUN CONTROL
Although there is a bipartisan gun deal pending in the Senate, the proposal is merely a Band-Aid. Because of GOP opposition and fealty to gun rights groups, the proposed deal does not include mandates for universal background checks or the ban on assault weapons that could save thousands of lives.
This is a clear case of the loyalty to the gun lobby and how out of step the party is with public opinion. 9 out of every 10 Americans support universal background checks without exceptions and 2/3rds of the public favor a ban on military-style assault weapons.
The GOP appointees on the Supreme Court could make the danger of gun violence even more of a threat if it decides this month to nullify a New York State law that places conditions on handgun carry outside the home. If the Supreme Court overturns the law, it will be difficult for other states and cities across the nation to reduce the carnage caused by gun violence through state restrictions.
THE FIGHT FOR REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM
The Supreme Court is poised to nullify the right to reproductive freedom that women have enjoyed for 50 years since the Roe v. Wade decision. This is just another instance where the GOP is wildly out of synch with public opinion.
Since the appearance of the leaked draft opinion to overturn Roe became public, support for abortion rights has increased and it could increase more after the ultimate decision is rendered by the Supremes.
A May national survey taken by the Gallup organization after the draft decision leaked, recorded a near record high in the number of Americans who identified themselves as “pro-choice,” meaning supportive of abortion rights. A large majority of Americans said it would be a “bad thing” for the high court to overturn Roe. Although some red states have banned abortions as early as 6-12 weeks of pregnancy, 2/3rds of the public said women should be free to have abortions in the first trimester of their pregnancies.
The reversal of Roe could be the start to rollback other freedoms enjoyed by Americans. If the conservative majority on the Supreme Court decides that the equal protection clause in the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution doesn’t protect reproductive rights of women, it raises concerns the court could go after other rights recognized in other cases under the equal protection clause such as gay marriage, too.
Pocketbook issues like inflation and jobs tend to determine the outcome of elections, but the triple threat posed by the Capitol coup, the likely nullification of Roe V. Wade and the threat of gun violence could give the GOP a case of the summertime blues. Freedom isn’t free and Democrats must convince Americans that Republicans should pay a price for the party’s obstruction of democratic norms and being out of step with public opinion.
In a midterm election, the perceptions of the parties are what really matters. Democrats must build on the advantage they have on these issues and use this edge for a platform that makes a message statement about the party. The message is Democrats are defenders of democracy while the GOP ignores the hopes, dreams and aspirations of most Americans.
Republicans who undermine democracy and ignore the will of the people do so at their own peril.

Fifty Years ...
On this day in 1973, exactly 50 years ago, the United States Supreme Court decided in the case of Roe v Wade to decriminalize abortion and give women the right to make decisions about their own bodies.  The vote was 7-2 with only Justices Rehnquist and White voting against it. Until seven months ago, June 24, 2022, we thought we would be celebrating the 50th anniversary of this momentous…

Biography:
Born in 1993, Michael Chang is a political journalist of Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and New York Times and has stricken up his journal career directly from social media off of the keyboard as opposed to writing utensils and has sought out the best quality journal career in his seeking out the news reports. He has come to conceive his journal career off of his own social media method, Facebook, and would be holding true to Facebook journalism for the sociably and manually accessible. Social media journalism is the exact career he has been seeking out and has been holding true to a history of mock journals delivered to the news reports and has been setting aside all live blogging in embrace of journalism for the sociably and manually accessible. In embrace of the innovative journalism method, Michael Chang encourages the usage of the method more so often with the repeated minimization, not elimination, to writing utensils, for the keyboard remains widely accessible as to the minimization. He is one of the premiere social media journalists in substitution of live blogging and would always be able to reconsider live blogging through repeated restoration to personal contact during times when he is not publishing. During times when he is not publishing, he would be setting aside all literary technique he has ever applied to his social media journalism and has come to widely favor a number of technique. The number of technique have to include flashback, foreshadowing, idioms, imagery, metaphors and similes in particular and has come to disfavor hyperbole and would always be minimizing the hyperbole, not unless he were to strike them up for entertainment purposes. For entertainment purposes, he would either hold true to minimal hyperbole or hold true to maximal literary technique for educational purposes, and, for educational purposes, he would be covering a variety of topics in accordance to his history of mock journals. With regards and with disregard to his journal career, his preferable technology distributor is Apple as his preferable internet provider is AT&T, and, as an Apple and AT&T accessor, the technology distributor and internet provider remain true to his everyday exposure to water and electricity in place of penmanship and writing utensils, both of which he would continue to access along with Verizon and Twitter as to the environmental sustainability. As to the sustainability, he prefers holding true to the water and electricity in his everyday life with online video browsing with access to minimal amounts of physical videos through fully utilizing YouTube. The progressivism he has come to absorb is extracted from solitary progressive education, and solitary progressive education is his preferable mode of Communications and Journalism, having specialized in that area of expertise directly from Carnegie Mellon University and having specialized in the Anglican-Anglophone alternation between multinational English-speaking countries. As an English-language journalist, he is a frequent accessor of Google translations, as the translations have proven to be the exact digital device in the multilingual journalism at his dispense and is bound to hold true to English-language journalism under the digital device of ten online translators. A philanthropist, Michael Chang is widely supportive of traditional, ternary developmental, Minimalistic, innovative, and Reformative education and encourages usage of social media amongst the Reformative more so often and encourages that usage to be put into practice amongst liberal economics as well, his preferable method of economics when compared to most positions. A Christian believer, Michael Chang makes occasional appearances in PFLAG, an LGBT related organization, and proudly supports multiple sexualities every once in a while; he is a fan of Ellen DeGeneres.
Michael Chang is also part-time governor under his self-employment, and the part-time governorship under the employment of his own initiative has lead directly to the sought out twenty-five news reports of Cyrillic and non-Cyrillic formatting; the twenty-two additional news reports are: San Diego Reader, San Diego Tribune, Los Angeles Daily News, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Seattle Times, Chicago Sun Times, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Washington Post, USA Today, Washington Examiner, The Commercial Appeal, Chattanooga Times Free Press, Atlanta Daily World, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Tallahassee Democrat, Tampa Bay Times, Miami Times, London Enquirer, The Guardian, The Guardian Weekly, and The Independent. Of these, the London Enquirer, The Guardian, The Guardian Weekly, and The Independent have served as the inspiration for his seeking out the Cyrillic and non-Cyrillic formatting; in the sought out contrasting formatting, Michael Chang encourages the sub-diplomatic transmissions more than the sub-diplomatic communications or diplomatic communications in their alternative or original form. His preferred formatting is Cyrillic; he encourages not only paper reduction and neutralization but also electric billing and social billing; he encourages the environmentalism without progressivism to seek out the manipulative skills in the reduction and neutralization to all paper; each manipulative skill is to the reductive and neutral. As part-time governor under self-employment, he puts his full time into his multifaceted background when compared to the employment he sought out under his own initiative.
A libertarian, Michael Chang is widely preferable under rising and falling moderate viewpoints, not rotating left winged and right winged qualities; the more the rotating left winged and right winged qualities, the more the sought out rising and falling moderate viewpoints. As a libertarian, Michael Chang fully acknowledges that, in light of the partial disqualification from full-time government, part-time government is his self-employment, and the initiative under his libertarianism may lead directly to the sought out partial qualification for government; he encourages part-time government amongst all libertarians other than himself. In the sought out part-time government, he encourages the Communications and Journalism to either broadcast or distribute the part-time government in aural or written format; in the sought out part-time government for the libertarianism, he encourages the libertarianism to mainstay the part-time position either temporarily or permanently, whether center-left or center-right. Whether center-left or center-right, Michael Chang encourages the temporary part-time government and permanent part-time government to hold true to libertarianism at all times when compared to the temporary full-time government and permanent full-time government amongst immoderate political associations. In light of his opposition to all immoderate political associations, Michael Chang holds true to his rising and falling moderation amongst all Democratic, Republican, Green, and Progressive viewpoints of enduring predominance. The enduring subdominant libertarianism may lead directly to temporary part-time government or permanent part-time government.
Also a clarinetist, pianist, voice actor, and music technician, Michael Chang encourages the usage of lumber related musical instruments and touchless modes of music technology more so often. As a frequent accessor of lumber related musical instruments and touchless music technology, Michael Chang encourages Apple Music to be put into full use in the everyday lives of both Apple users and non-users alike. With the usage of the touchless mode of music technology, Michael Chang encourages the alternation between minimal, maximal, and maximal-tolerable analogue, digital, and livestream recordings and encourages the usage of the livestream more so often, both traditionally and innovatively. He encourages the usage of not only lumber related musical instruments and touchless music technology but also every other digital access to musical instruments and music technology in succession and precession to the lumber related and touchless both traditionally and innovatively. Michael Chang is a frequent customer of Woodwind and Brasswind and is a Yamaha user in the keyboard specialty. As a Yamaha user, he personably obliges himself to take up matching descriptions as to the distribution of his musical instruments. When not practicing or performing, he would often be dedicating his time to political journalism and philanthropy of moderate esteem, and, as a Communications and Journalism specialist of his own, his specialty in Communications and Journalism and Commercialization of the Autonomous had begun as a singular pair of qualities that eventually began to double its own value. That doubling that lead him towards the Commercialization of the Autonomous is the exact determining factor of encouraging the usage of lumber related products and touchless modalities of technology in general. He encourages the usage of lumber minority and touchless technology majority to the brink of repeated diminution and augmentation to the minority and majority counterparts. As a music technician, he encourages all lumber minority and touchless technology majority to hold true to their conceptions, and those conceptions are a purely handmade quality and quantity in a repeated exchangeability amongst each other. Michael Chang encourages the usage of preconceived lumber related products in general and encourages elderly wood stock to be revived through the most touchless modes of technology. As to the music technology, he encourages the repeated usage of digital recordings in physical format or convert directly to livestream as well as he encourages the repeated minimization to analogue recordings of and before the generation of the LP and LPM. His preferable format of recording is the CD as his preferable method of surround sound is 24-HD. He is opposed to electronic music not because of deference but because he encourages human interaction amongst variable artists with access to lumber related musical instruments and touchless modes of music technology to the brink of repeated authenticity. He seeks out authentication to the most frequently accessed choices of lumber related musical instruments and opposes artificialization to musical instruments. His opposition to artificialization of musical instruments is his modality of music advocacy. His music advocacy modality is the exact methodology he continues to rely on and would always rely on in his everyday access to lumber minority and touchless majority. He is a Buffet Crampon/ Yamaha Artist.
As a music technician, Michael Chang encourages the usage of Spotify more so often, as Spotify is the sole method of radio connection without portable qualities in alternation with YouTube or singularization from YouTube. Michael Chang encourages the touchless radio to be put into full use more so often, as the touchless radio is the exact modality of receiving transmissions without the microphone; without the microphone, the transmissions remain actively resonant without consuming radiology. Without consuming radiology, the radiation-free device continues to be fully accessed off of individual devices; Michael Chang encourages that radiation-free device to continue to be fully accessed without consuming radiology and without the additional microphone. As a music technician, Michael Chang encourages the usage of Spotify as the sole method of substitution to the microphone, and the substitute is the exact adjustable and adaptable radio connection with the reliable inserted microbes. With the reliable inserted microbes, he encourages the usage of Spotify as not any mere sole method of radio connection but also connectable and encourages the connectable to be fully accessed off of the hybrid or electric vehicle and every other vehicle of the exact same generation, albeit CD players. He encourages the usage of Spotify either on its own or rotationally with Apple Music and encourages the rotation to take shape more so often. He encourages the invention of double radio connection conceived off of the rotation between Apple Music and Spotify to the brink of optical radio connection and encourages optical radio connection to apply to predeceasing generations of motor vehicles. He encourages carbon-neutral emission amongst predeceasing generations of motor vehicles to the brink of retaining the CD player. Michael Chang encourages the repeated singularization and collection of Apple Music and Spotify as to the singularization and collection of multiple generations of motor vehicles through valid CD players and touchless radios with or without additional handmade transmissions. He encourages analogue recordings of and before the generation of the LP and LPM to hold true to their vintage qualities as to the vintage vehicle and encourages livestream to be fully accessed amongst vintage vehicle consumers and encourages gas emission consumers to remain true to livestream other than analogue recordings. He encourages the alternation between multiple generations of motor vehicles and of audio recordings ranging from gas emission to carbon-neutral emission and ranging from massively proportional to touchless as to the audio recordings as well as rotational between the hybrid and electric and rotational between Apple Music and Spotify. He is a fan of Toyota; he is a Diplomatic Artist.
A social media savvy, Michael Chang has a prior history of encouraging water and electricity provision and discouraging addiction to and from the social media platform and encourages the repeated provision to be covered by all social media savvies and discourages addiction to the brink of enhanced rationality on a daily basis. He encourages social media journalism to be picked up on more so often, as social media journalism serves as an alternate form to online journalism, which serves as an alternative form to handwritten journalism. He encourages the usage of every other periodic element of or related to oil, meth, or paper, as the three periodic elements are known for their repeated extraction of handwritten journalism. In the repeated battling with social media addiction and disciplinary action involving water and electricity provision, he encourages periodic element immersion to take the place of online immersion, as periodic element immersion surpasses 1980s culture, and that surpass immediately creates social media savviness. He encourages accessibility to ternary transmissions through accessibility to three water and electricity providers and encourages accessibility to three water and electricity providers to surpass their time span. He is an occasional accessor of T-Mobile and holds true to that occasion in his everyday life as he holds true to his faithfulness and loyalty to Twitter as his third water and electricity provider and encourages ternary transmissions to take the place of carbon-neutral emissions. In substitution of carbon-neutral emissions, he encourages carbon-neutral emissions to triple amongst themselves or de-neutralize amongst each other as to the alternating gas emission and electric transmissions. Michael Chang encourages carbon-neutral tripling to take the place of multi-destination transportation and multi-transmissive indoor activities, coal mining, and pricing. He encourages periodic element immersion of and beyond the social media generation to double the value of online immersion of and beyond the 1980s, as that doubling immediately transports ext. numbers 1 – 9 beyond their time in equivalence to the amount of periodic elements. In equivalence to the amount of periodic elements, he encourages repeated alternation between online immersion of and beyond the 1980s and periodic element immersion of and beyond the social media generation through combination and separation as well as individualization and collection. He encourages the repeated individualization and collection of online immersion of and beyond the 1980s and periodic element immersion of and beyond the social media generation as to the repeated combination and separation of the contrasting qualities and quantity auto-generators. In alternate form to all of online video browsing and online music channels, he encourages online video browsing and online music channels to be combined with online journalism more so often. He encourages disjointed ternary form as to the handwritten journalism, online journalism, and social media journalism, physical videos, online video browsing, and social media screening, and physical audio recordings, online music channels, and livestream. His handwriting is cursive.

No matter what happens now, history's judgment on Kavanaugh is already clear
Tumblr media
The date is September 27, 2068. On your neural net's news feed, you catch a glimpse of an item that says "50th anniversary of Brett Kavanaugh hearings." You think you vaguely remember something about that from the American history class pills, but the details are vague (you keep confusing the name with Clarence Thomas, for some reason). You fire up the video.
What do you see, through disinterested, utterly neutral future eyes?
You see a woman — quiet, dignified, vulnerable,  heartbreakingly so. She is a neurology professor, and speaks in measured academic tones to an intimidating committee of silent men. She details a sexual assault that took place when she was 15. That's right, you remember — this is the era when women were just starting to dare speak out about this sort of thing.
Then comes the man she said assaulted her, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, and you have to glance at the checkmark in the corner of the screen to assure yourself that this is not a Deep Fake — it is certified genuine archive material.
But this guy looks like a ham actor playing the villain in a bad historical drama. The sneer on his face, the sense of entitlement, his hysterical outbursts, his attempts to deflect questions by attacking his interviewers — surely, even in the age of Trump, nobody actually considered this appropriate behavior for a judge? Could they not see how nearly every woman in the room seemed to look at him?

He repeatedly refutes requests for an FBI investigation. He confirms his love of beer and denies problem drinking, in what any generation that has access to alcohol would recognize as the furiously aggressive manner of someone with a drinking problem.
If he was as innocent as he says, you think, he certainly didn't act like it.

Back in September 2018, we don't know how this historical segment will end. Judge Brett Kavanaugh may well become Justice Kavanaugh, confirmed by the Senate by a slim party-line margin, and sit on the Supreme Court for the rest of his natural life.
Or two or more Republican senators may decide to do the right thing and refuse to confirm a man so thoroughly unknown, a political operative whose nomination came with hidden documents and mysteriously-paid debts, whose response to credible accusations was to sneer and bluster and portray himself as a beer-loving choir boy with a calendar.
Either way, this day is it for Kavanaugh. This is how he chose to act in the spotlight of the whole world — petulant and whiny — and this is how history will remember him.
He will become a timeless meme: Yelling Frat Boy Judge. Even if he sits on the Supreme Court and authors a hundred acerbic opinions in the style of his judicial hero Antonin Scalia; even if — especially if — he provides one of the decisive votes to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Well, so much for the phrase “sober as a judge”
— Chris Taylor (@FutureBoy) September 27, 2018
How can we be so sure what history will think? Well, admittedly, it's possible that America will turn into some nightmare equivalent of Gilead in which Kavanaugh is worshipped by an all-male hierarchy as part of the Trump pantheon of aggrieved white men.
But given prevailing demographic and cultural trends, given the slow but steady increase in society's ability to come to terms with an undeniable legacy of white male privilege, it seems far more likely that Kavanaugh will play the villain's role in textbook chapters on the Time's Up age.

Besides, we've seen this movie before. Look at Justice Clarence Thomas. In 1991, despite Anita Hill's famous Senate committee testimony about his workplace harassment, Thomas was supported by a majority of the American public (Kavanaugh was supported by a minority in recent polling, even before this hearing).
Since then, Thomas has provided decisive votes in a number of cases that will live in infamy (such as Bush v. Gore and Citizens United). We remember those decisions; we barely remember his part in them. What we remember is the judge who allegedly boasted about his porn habit and creepily hit on his co-workers. We may also recall that former Sen. Joe Biden later apologized over his role in Thomas' confirmation.
Instead of Thomas, it is Anita Hill in the cultural ascendancy. We remember with justified horror the fact that she was described by a Republican operative as "a little bit nutty and a little bit slutty." She is the quiet hero of movies and documentaries, portrayed by one of the best-known TV actors of the age. She is the chair of a commission on gender equality in Hollywood. She is the wise old law professor giving interviews to John Oliver, insisting that if another woman has a story like hers to tell, well, this time senators would treat the allegations with more respect.
If Hill's prediction turns out to be accurate, her historical stock will rise even further. Even if she is being too optimistic, we will remember the tragic irony (and also recall the prediction of Martin Luther King that "the arc of the moral universe is long but bends towards justice;" his successors suffered setbacks, too).
Either way, Hill has the mic, not Thomas. No matter how long he continues to serve on the court, the only thing he could do to change his reputation is to do the one thing he has consistently refused to do: apologize.
Likewise, Kavanaugh's reputation now seems sealed in amber. His cultural tombstone lies here, in the moment he followed a credible accusation of assault with a whiny rage-fueled protest at his own victimhood.
It may be of small comfort if he is confirmed, but September 27, 2018 is a day that will live in infamy. And its impact on November 6, 2018 remains to be seen.

My Uncle Martin Stood Up For Human Dignity - Pro-lifers Must Do The Same Today
Story with image:

Martin Luther King at the Alabama civil rights march in 1965 (Getty) (Caption with image above)
On the 50th anniversary of legal abortion, let us resolve that no amount of discomfort will prevent us from defending the unborn
We are gathering today to commemorate a tragedy without parallel.
Seven years ago I spoke at a meeting in your Parliament, having just visited Westminster Abbey, and having seen the stone statue above the West Entrance immortalizing my uncle, Martin Luther King Jr, for his great work for justice.
I told your legislators that the pro-life movement stands for justice and is “the new civil rights movement”.
As a mother of six children, with personal experience of abortion, and which I came to deeply regret, I learned the hard way that abortion was not the answer to my problem. It was the problem.
Today, I feel morally obligated to speak out about how human dignity and life itself has been systematically rejected by some in society for an entire class of individuals — unborn children.
Like my uncle Martin, I too have a passion for justice. And I see the cause of the unborn through the same vision of justice that Dr Martin Luther King Jr laid out, half a century ago.
I see absolutely no difference between the denial of rights to people because of their skin colour and the denial of rights to people because of their age or condition of dependency.
There is no doubt that the pro-life movement is the civil rights movement of our century because it is the fundamental right of every one of every race to live. Of what use are all our other rights if we can simply choose to deny a person the right to be born in the first place?
My uncle challenged a culture which said African Americans were not worthy of respect or of human dignity.
We were spat upon. We were told to go to the back of the bus. We were deemed unworthy to eat or drink with others. We were clubbed and beaten. And we were lynched. We were killed because we were regarded as less than fully human.
So it is with the lives of unborn babies – who are womb-lynched – today.
Today’s unborn are yesterday’s blacks – best kept out of sight and out of mind lest they remind us of the injustices we commit.
In 1967, the year before my uncle was murdered, the UK Parliament voted to legalise abortion. Since then, more than 8 million human lives have been lost.
What does 8 million look like?
None of us have ever seen 8 million people. It is an unimaginable number.
In World War II the UK lost around 450,000 people. To equal the number of deaths the UK has suffered through abortion, the UK would have to fight World War II sixteen times.
This is death on a scale the world has never seen. In my own country, there are around 700,000 abortions every year. 59 million since Roe v Wade. 59 million.
Some of you will remember that back in the 1970s and 1980, supporters of abortion used to excuse this mass killing with talk of how an early pregnancy wasn’t really a human being.
“A clump of cells”, they said.
Scientific endeavour has since shown this to be a lie. The most deadly lie in human history, easing our consciences as untold millions have been denied the chance to take a breath. To hold their mother. To love. Still today, this lie is repeated in an effort to dehumanise. And if history tells us one thing about mass killing, it’s that it is always preceded by dehumanisation.
We must now decry this lie from the rooftops. We must unite in proclaiming the settled scientific truth that a unique and distinct human life is present from conception. But let us find a language of protest that is inclusive to the many women who feel coerced by their circumstances into walking through the doors of the killing fields of an abortion clinic.
Dr Martin Luther King Jr was right when he said: “The Negro cannot win if he is willing to sacrifice the futures of his children for immediate personal comfort and safety.” That is true for all of us – whatever our colour, class, or creed: when we sacrifice our children we sacrifice and destroy our future.
Uncle Martin was right, too, when he said: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Only by being pro-woman and pro child; pro life and pro love, will we drive out the darkness of our culture of death.
The challenge today is to touch people’s hardened hearts – hearts that the Bible tells us are inscribed with God’s law.
We can try to deny our consciences, indoctrinate or medicate our minds so that we can’t or won’t think, but a sense of right and wrong has been given to each and every one of us. It is that very moral awareness that challenged America’s culture on racism. And I believe it is that same moral awareness that can challenge and change any culture on abortion.
On this day of such overwhelming significance, let us resolve that no amount of personal discomfort will prevent us from defending our children. Let us each ask ourselves: If not me, who? If not now, when?
After the inevitable abolition of abortion, as future generations look back on this dark era, let our names be counted among those who peacefully resisted.
