[Black + White: Day 38]: Shimuraken/志村けん --------- 3 more days before 2020 ends. I thought of a few actors that I will miss a lot. Shimuraken is one. I cried that day when he passed away early this year. He brought a lot of joy to us when we were kids (and now as well). I mean his signature pose is something that everyone would try to imitate. [Black + White: Day 37]: Thank you/ありがとう ------------ I was wondering which drawing I should put up on such a festive day...and then I thought of this one. Thank you. Sometimes it is not easy to express your thanks for people you really care about, or other occasions, you might have someone you give you a helping hand when you are in need. But if you ever have a chance to say your thanks, or express your appreciation, don't delay it, because you may just miss this opportunity forever. When I did my internship at the hospital wards, these thoughts grew stronger. Life can be fragile sometimes, and people can stop talking to one another due to many reasons (some can be very minor, but no one wanted to take the initiation to resolve the problem). I was glad that I took the initiation last week by inviting my uncles and parents over for X’mas lunch, where my hubby and I prep meals for them. Looking at the photos I took, they all aged a lot as we grow up, but it was nice to see them chatting together (which they had not been doing so for quite some time after our grand parents left us 10 years back). We had a major earthquake 25 years back at my hometown and I had always appreciated that if it wasn’t for my big uncle climbing into the house with a few of his friends, carrying my parents and grandparents out, we would have been orphans at a much earlier age. [Black+ White: Day 29]:Loss/失 --------- During the uni days, my violin teacher passed away. He was the first teacher I had and was a very patient man. I was quite a naughty person when it comes to learning violin back then. I would only practice 30 minutes before he came over to teach. During the class, if the pieces were ok, he would mark a tick on the music score. Somehow, I was always able to just pass...marginally. He knew I could do better, but I wasn’t performing too bad at that time, so things seemed to just progress the way it was. But I did grow to like it. “Let music be your company”, he told me that when he hands picked my full-size violin for me. Every hand-picked violin by the teacher had its unique characteristics. Mine plays the bright crispy sounds while my brother’s one was more mellow. *[Black+ White: Day 27]:Useful probiotics/有用的益生菌(part 2: Small intestine)* ------------- There were quite a number of funny moments during the elective group meeting during the time we had to make the poster and the article review. That year we spent a lot more time celebrating each other's birthday (so there were more photos of that instead of photos of the meeting). We did have quite a few "meetings"...including ones at the library discussion rooms, with the supervisor etc... I ever only had one set of photos when everyone came to my flat. My room wasn't really big and there was the 6 of us all squeezed in that tiny space staring into the tiny laptop. Sammi and I did try to take photos of that day, but everyone tried to dodge in all sort of ways and some photos were just so blurred out (Sammie dodged too while trying to take photos of other people). Well....we were kinda "pretty" efficient...coz we were trying to meet the deadline of 6pm so everyone can go back home to watch scrubs or friends on T.V (the TV at my flat was kinda crappy and not big enough to meet everyone's demand of different T.V programs. *[Black+ White: Day 26]: Afternoon Tea/一個人的下午 ------------ The seat by the windowsill at Nova was one of my favourite spots back then when there was a little breather from the lectures. Sometimes there were no lectures in the afternoon, then I would stroll around and somehow eventually end up there with a cuppa coffee and just watch the time past by until it was about time to head home.
