Top 10 father/son fantasies
Recently, an anon wondered if I have ever had thoughts of a father and son combination and offer one to me. Because of that I decide to make this list.
My parameters here. I had to be attracted both father and child when both were still alive. So no combos like Dan Blocker and his son Dirk Blocker.
Mmm... on of my favs though.
#10. Lou Holtz & Son Skip Holtz
Tumblr media
I've been fantasying about Lou Holtz since I saw him on the sidelines at Notre Dame. I first spotted Skip when he was coaching under his father at South Carolina from 1999-2004, but it wasn't until he was at Louisiana Tech that the father/son fantasies started happening.
#9. Paul Sorvino & Mia Sorvino
Tumblr media
I known it's his daughter, but I'm BI and I wanted to dick these two down for years now. So of course I'd imagine doing them together.
#8. Bum Phillips & Wade Phillips
Tumblr media
I enjoyed Wade Phillips on the sidelines over the years. And when the announcers would talk about his his father Bum Phillips, I had to look him up. The Cowboy look is one many things that do it for me and Bum definitely had the look down pat. And the Bum and Wade fantasies began.
On a Side Note: Check out Wade’s tits.
#7. George H. Bush & Sons
Tumblr media
I just like dreaming of George, GW and Jeb having their way with me. Individually, together and in combinations.
#6. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Queen Elizabeth II and Children
Tumblr media
Even though I have Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne in this one, I also have his sons too. So it counts. Basically, the fantasy takes aspects of Cinderella and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I'm at a royal ball and while there, I happened to fuck Prince Charles, Princess Anne (still BI), Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. Apparently, the next day, all of them announced they’re leaving there respective partners for one of them to marry me. So Queen Elizabeth II ordered me to the palace and after I gave her and her husband a taste of THE DICK. What? She's the queen. Anyway, I fuck her children again, some multiple times until I settle on one. Usual, Andrew or Charles.
Tumblr media
#5. Ed Asner & son, Matt
Tumblr media
It's only recently that this father/son tag team fantasy has manifested in my mind.
#4. Buddy Ryan & Sons, Rex & Rob
Tumblr media
I'd like to imagine Buddy in my mouth, Rob on my cock with Rex sucking my toes and jerking off on my feet.
What? It's well documented that Rex has a foot fetish.
#3. Spike Dykes & Sons
Tumblr media
Spike Dykes, Sonny Dykes and Rick Dykes. At first this was a 3-some, but in making this list, I found Spike's other son, Rick. And now it's a 4-some.
On a Side Note: Mmm... Sonny tit.
#2. Albert II of Belgium & Sons
Tumblr media
King Philippe, Prince Laurent and I, going at it while former King Albert watch in a corner. Preferable in a nice, dark suit. Eventually, he'll be in me after his boys have their fun.
#1 Bobby Bowden & Sons
Tumblr media
This is what I'd like to call 'the real' Bowden Bowl. Bobby Bowden, oldest son Steve Bowden (not picture), second oldest Tommy Bowden, Jeff Bowden and last but not least Terry Bowden, my favorite. All locked in a hotel room with me for a weekend. Yeah... that's the fantasy.

British Royal Weddings - Part 3
Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, 30 July 2011.
Zara was an angelic vision in a ivory silk dress designed by Stewart Parvin, one of her grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s favorite couturiers. Zara wore a precious Greek tiara that belongs to her mother, Princess Anne. The 'something borrowed' piece consists of a brilliant cut diamond surrounded by a glittering wreath. It originated in Greece's royal family, with Prince Philip's mother Alice gifting the tiara to Queen Elizabeth II – and the Queen subsequently passed it on to her daughter, Princess Anne.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, 19 May 2018.
Meghan Markle’s wedding dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller, artistic director of the fashion house Givenchy. The dress was made of silk with three-quarter-length sleeves, an open boat neckline and a train with built-in triple silk organza underskirt. Waight Keller helped develop a double bonded silk cady for the construction of the dress, which featured only six seams. The dress was without lace or any other embellishments. A piece of the blue dress from Markle's first date with Prince Harry was stitched into the bridal gown. The long 5 metre (16-ft) veil, which took longer to make than the dress itself, was embroidered with flowers representing the countries of the Commonwealth, the California poppy, in honour of Meghan Markle's home state of California, and wintersweet, a flower that grows at Kensington Palace.
She chose Keller to create her wedding dress due to the designer's "elegant aesthetic" and "relaxed demeanour." The dress was made in Paris by "a small team of ateliers". There was only five months to have the dress and the veil manufactured, and Waight Keller and Markle met for eight fittings.
Waight Keller stated that the dress sought to "convey modernity through sleek lines and sharp cuts", while paying homage to the history of the Givenchy house.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, 12 October 2018.
The dress was designed by British-based Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos  and featured a deep V neck with an off the shoulder design and a beautiful bustle at the back.
The fabric included a number of symbols that were meaningful to Princess Eugenie as motifs, notably a Thistle for Scotland acknowledging the couple's fondness for Balmoral, a Shamrock for Ireland as a nod to the Bride's Ferguson family, the York Rose and ivy representing the couple's home. Eugenie opted to go without a veil, instead wearing her up in a chic style with the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara, which belonged to the Queen Mother.
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 17 July 2020.
In a break from past royal brides, rather than enlisting a couturier to craft a custom garment, Beatrice went vintage. She wore a gown by Norman Hartnell, on loan from the Queen, made from Peau De Soie taffeta and organza, trimmed with Duchess satin, and encrusted with diamanté.

Reylo?   (Part I - Pro Reylo Perspective)
Definition: Reylo (pronounced RAY-LOW) – the romantic pairing of Rey and Kylo Ren from the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy “ST”.
So about the Reylo concept... there are certainly many arguments for and against Rey and Kylo coming together in a romantic, or frankly in any way.  That being said, this post will provide some Pro-Reylo thoughts and observations.  It will be followed in a coming post with anti-Reylo opinions as well, as I like to play Devil’s Advocate. Disclaimer: before you like or dislike my post, it is not the place of this author to weigh in on what she would LIKE to happen, only what I think WILL or WILL NOT happen, based on clues in the story, movies and novelization only.  I may also point to subtle clues given by the writer/directors.  Please read with an open mind.
Reylo clue #1:  Rey and Kylo’s first meeting on Takodana
Kylo Ren takes Rey captive on Takodana.  He doesn’t have time to find BB-8 and believes that the girl has the map in her head, and he is interested to know more about her, so he takes her with him to Starkiller Base.  So, Kylo Ren, with a stormtrooper only yards away, makes Rey unconscious and “bridal” carries unconsious Rey to his ship himself - and quite a distance besides!
Kylo carrying Rey to the ship was NOT in the novelization.  It was only in the movie.  Visually, JJ Abrams maybe wanted to create imagery that will be more significant as the story moves forward, particularly, a surprisingly tender connection between Kylo and Rey.  The Dark Prince and Secret “princess”.  From a fairytale perspective, this was like Aurora meeting Prince Phillip or Ariel meeting Prince Eric.  Someone of Kylo Ren’s importance and rank surely would not normally carry a grown woman approximately 1/2 mile.  He would make an underling, a soldier do it.  This may very well have been foreshadowing a romance very early on in the story before anyone really realized what was potentially happening.  In the director commentary of the movie, JJ Abrams basically references this fairytale story aspect himself.   It’s not your imagination!
Reylo clue #2:  “I’ll Come Back for you” dialog (Rey’s Vision on Takodana)
Going back to Rey’s vision in Maz’s castle basement when she touched the lightsaber, in the novelization, Rey hears what is called “THAT voice” and someone says “Stay here, I’ll come back for you.”   We did not see this from the flashback of Rey being left on Jakku by her ... well somebody.   Is this novel reference what we think it is?  Was it Rey’s parents?  Or could this actually end up being spoken in Episode IX by Ben Solo? You decide! I can picture this and I kind of like it.  It would certainly be thematic.
Why include this “...I’ll come back for you” line in the novel but take it out of the movie?  Was it cut from the script at some point?   If so, you have to ask yourself why? Maybe it’s because we were not allowed to hear that person’s actual voice in Episode VII.  It was too early to reveal the person behind that bit of dialog.  Or it could just be that it was unnecessary (if it was indeed her parents) to have them say they would try to come back.
We have no idea still if Rey’s parents meant to actually return to her or not.   Hopefully we will find out.  If not, Rey needs to move on from this past of hers.  But if this was actually Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, imagine that there is a scene where they are together and for some reason he has to leave her behind but promises to come back, harkening back to the last time she heard those words that have haunted her for all of these years.  If Reylo is real, he WILL come back, indicating that she was special, she is loved.
Reylo Clue #3: Kylo Ren’s “Money Shot”
Need I explain this one?  Well, let me go ahead and do so anyway.  Look, regardless of what great physical shape Adam Driver was in by the time of filming this particular force connection scene in Episode VIII (the one where he is wearing only black, high-waisted pants), Rian Johnson would not just decide “oh heck, let me include a beefcake shot of Kylo Ren” (only the second one in Star Wars history) if Kylo Ren is in ANY WAY related to Rey (brother, cousin, etc…) - that would just be icky.  And whether you like him or not, Rian Johnson is too sophisticated a filmmaker for that.  This is not some sleazy CW show.
This is the scene that actually made me realize there WAS a Reylo dynamic.  I had no idea there was a Reylo before I watched this.  I was honestly, completely oblivious.  I thought for sure, Rey was Luke’s daughter.  This was the scene that prompted me to do the research on the Google machine.  This is why it is an obvious clue.  After all, I watch a lot of those sleazy CW shows.  I can tell when two characters are going to eventually hook up.
Reylo Clue #4: The Hut Scene, Bare Shoulders and Hand-touching All the Way Across the Galaxy
Like the Kylo Ren shirtless scene, Rey is all wet and her shoulders are bare in this scene holding a little blanket barely covering her wet clothes and body.   Things are getting a little familiar, no?  We go from fighting and snarky dialog to clothing starting to come off and sitting in front of a fire within hand touching range of each other.  That Rian Johnson… I hope I still sound objective here, but again, this is where my “CW” radar went off.   Firelight, bare shoulders, wet hair, gloves off, bare hands reaching out, softly touching, Rey and Kylo have tears running down their cheek, then Dad comes in and interrupts.   What is happening????   Separate those two!!!
Reylo Clue #5: Snoke taking credit for the Force Connection = Disappointed boy
When Snoke reveals to Rey, in front of the kneeling Kylo Ren, that it was he, Snoke, who opened the Force connection bridge between Rey and Kylo, Kylo looks slightly upward with a subtle yet angry face as if to say “What the Hell????” He was surprised, disappointed, hurt.   Snoke said he saw Kylo Ren as too weak to hide his feelings from Rey.  Snoke used Kylo as a tool to get at Rey, the real threat, not Luke Skywalker.   This is yet another blow to Kylo Ren, who saw the Force connection between him and Rey as something special, something the Force intended.  Instead of an opportunity for Kylo to find a kindred spirit in Rey, he learns that this experience was something manufactured by another person.   It reminds me of that Hallmark Christmas movie where the girl creates a dating app for her business and starts “dating” the cute guy that came up as a match in order to show her boss how well the app works.  Then the poor guy finds out she was just going out with him to forward her career and he decides to move back to his hometown, but she races to find him before he leaves to tell him that she really likes him and they end up together at the end.   The point is that the dude was hurt to find out that it wasn’t “fate” that brought them together but some stupid computer algorithm.  Technology can be a real bitch sometimes.  And so could Snoke apparently.
Reylo clue #6: Kylo’s Botched “Proposal” to Rey after the throne room fight mirrors a classic literary romance!
Fans of Pride and Prejudice, like me, will find strangely familiar the moment that Kylo Ren, in a moment of passion and heightened self-confidence, asks Rey to join him in ruling together. When the offer is not immediately accepted, his ego takes over.  He makes Rey cry and tells her she is nothing, a “nobody”, only then to tell her that regardless of her being a nobody, with no real connection to anything or anyone, she means something to HIM and wants her to join him.  This is, of course, followed by her justifiable rejection of this proposed partnership and the pair of them going their different ways.
This is mirrors what happens in the novel by Jane Austen, but in this case Mr. Darcy is Kylo Ren and Elizabeth Bennett is Rey.  If you read P&P, you will also know that Elizabeth misjudged Mr. Darcy based on her initial impression of him and that first impression somewhat tainted her reception of Mr. Darcy’s marriage proposal.  Also, despite being raised wealthy and well-educated, Mr. Darcy’s social awkwardness caused him to inadvertently hurt her feelings while expressing his true and tender feelings for Elizabeth.
We also see that Mr. Darcy’s pain of rejection influenced his transformation into a better, less proud man, worthy of Elizabeth’s love, and his second marriage proposal is more graciously accepted.  If Episode IX follows this story influence, we may see something of a transformation in Kylo Ren aka Ben Solo.  Look for signs in the first act of Episode IX of Kylo changing his own behavior and proving himself more worthy.  Otherwise, I’m not sure how he would be worthy of a romantic relationship with anyone, except someone as mean as him who will stab him in his sleep.
Final thought on this scene – if Kylo Ren’s feelings for Rey were not romantic, would he have extended his hand to her?  If Rey were a man, would he hold out his hand to him?   No, he would not.  He wanted her to take his hand and walk away with him like they were the new power couple, like a King and Queen, like a Prince and Princess, not merely as a “partner in crime”.  He is a man, she is a woman.  It seems reasonable to him that she would say yes to him after they just slayed the dragon together. Also, Kylo Ren has been thinking about this new vision for the future, internally planning.  This is not spur of the moment.   He knew Rey was coming to him, he knew what he had to do.
Some last thoughts
These are the big clues, albeit not as obvious as Anakin and Padme, and the Han & Leia thing was way more obvious, more flirtatious.  If Reylo was the plan from the beginning, this is definitely a slow burn but totally possible, a modern day twist of the classic story - designed from the beginning to shock and surprise and audience.
The Reylo concept has been a very divisive topic among Star Wars Fans.  The point here is that you can be objective and scientific about this, keep feelings out of it.
I will not be disappointed if Rey and Kylo don’t have a romantic relationship in the last movie of Star Wars.  I just hope the ending makes sense.  This is the Star Wars universe, not real life.  Yes, we interpret movies and TV through a current day lens, but anything can happen in this world.  The filmmakers are trying to surprise/shock us.  At this point, would Reylo be the shock/surprise or would Reylo be the obvious outcome?    Is the average fan even aware of Reylo?  I asked my mom about it and she just doesn’t see it.  What percentage of people also watched Episode VII or VIII and Googled “Rey Kylo Ren romantic” and found two years worth of online post about it?
Final thoughts
For Reylo to happen, there has to be a catalyst for Kylo to be redeemable, a believable turning point.
Does Rey have to have a romance?
Do you think we’ll see a more mature, more confident, sexier version of Rey in this story?  If so, then I think we’ll see her with a sexier counterpart/partner, someone with the intensity and passion of Ben Solo (Kylo), not Mr. Nice Guy Finn or Poe.  (see my next post!)
What is the true significance of Rose’s line about not destroying what we hate but saving what we love?  Will Kylo love Rey, and vice versa, and will that be key to ultimate end of the story?
And by the way, what did Kylo mean when he said to Rey “don’t be afraid, I feel it too.”

Proposal
The Royal Marriages Act of 1772 requires all royal descendants to seek the sovereign's approval for marriage. But the requirements don't stop there—the 1701 Act of Settlement prohibits royals from marrying Catholics. To wed the Queen's eldest grandchild Peter Phillips in 2008, Autumn Kelly converted from Roman Catholicism to Anglicanism so her husband would keep his place as 11th in line for the throne. Soon after Will and Kate's engagement was announced, officials from Buckingham Palace said the Queen was "absolutely delighted" for the couple, which can only mean she approved of Will's choice.
Stag and Hen Parties
What began as a dinner party in Ancient Sparta has evolved into a party thrown in honor of a bachelor's soon-to-be-lost single status. But in the UK, groomsmen have taken the tradition even farther, now celebrating over an entire weekend's worth of festivities known as a stag weekend. While details are scarce, Will's office confirmed that the Prince's party took place in late March (about a month before the wedding). Hosted by his brother, Prince Harry, at a country estate, the party included Will's close friends James Meade, Thomas van Straubenzee, and Guy Pelly. With the dawn of the sexual revolution in the 1960s, women claimed their own night of "farewell-to-singlehood" revelry. Kate's "hen night" (we call it a bachelorette party around here) was even more hush-hush than Will's. Her sister Pippa reportedly booked four different hotel locations to throw off paparazzi.
Wedding Location
The most traditional site for a royal ceremony is the Chapel Royal at St. James Palace, which housed the weddings of Queen Anne (1683), George III (1761), George IV (1795), Queen Victoria (1840), and George V (1893). More recent royal couples have since outgrown the small chapel, which seats 100, as the ceremonies have become more of a public spectacle. For her 1919 ceremony, Princess Patricia of Connaught brought Westminster Abbey (left) back into vogue for royal weddings for the first time in 605 years. Westminster was then chosen for King George V's daughter Mary in 1922, Queen Elizabeth's parents in 1923, and the Queen's own wedding in 1947. Kate and Will are Westminster-bound, as well, but two alternatives would have been the much larger St. Paul's Cathedral where Charles and Diana wed or the much smaller St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle where Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles's wedding was dedicated following a civil ceremony at Windsor's Guildhall in 2005.
Wedding Party
English brides are accompanied by a group of bridesmaids, usually younger girls between the ages of 10 and 12. The Queen had eight bridesmaids, and Diana had five, ranging in age from 5 to 17. Kate's bridal party will be even younger, with Grace van Cutsem (Will's goddaughter) and Eliza Lopes (Camilla's granddaughter) both toddling down the aisle at age 3. In a major break with tradition, Kate has chosen a maid of honor, her sister Pippa, who will be the oldest main bridesmaid in recent memory at the ancient age of 27. The Prince's godson, Tom Pettifer, and Billy Lowther-Pinkerton, the son of Will's Secretary, will serve as pageboys—young attendants who traditionally carry the train of the bride's dress.
Guests
At an event as exclusive as a royal wedding, the guest list is everything. Fellow royals, foreign leaders, church officials, and diplomats dot the list along with the couple's own friends and family. The Royal Family sits on the right-side of the church, unless the groom is not royal, in which case they sit on the left. By the Queen's command, 1,900 invitations went out to Will and Kate's wedding guests—including to their friends from St. Andrews University, but notably excluding Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. Male attendees are expected to wear military uniforms, morning dress (single-breasted coats with tails) or lounge suits (what we consider a business suit). Female attire is less specifically outlined, though hats are a must.
Transportation
Most royal brides arrive to their wedding in horse-drawn regal style (Diana's choice: the 1881 Glass Coach purchased for George V's coronation in 1911), but Kate will instead arrive at Westminster Abbey with her father in a car. And not just any car. She's selected the Queen's Rolls Royce Phantom for its large windows to allow onlookers the best view. Once they are married, Kate and Will plan to depart the ceremony in the same carriage that transported Charles and Diana, a 1902 State Landau originally made for the coronation of Edward VII. For Charles and Camilla's wedding, Will and Harry tied metallic balloons and the words "Just Married" to the back of the couple's Bentley. What are the chances bad-boy Harry will try the same on Will and Kate's carriage?
Bouquet
When Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840, she carried myrtle—known as the herb of love—in her bouquet. After the wedding, Victoria planted a myrtle shrub in her garden at the Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. Every British royal bride since has carried a bouquet containing a sprig plucked from the same shrub. In an act of love to honor the armed forces, Kate will leave her bouquet in Westminster Abbey at the grave of the Unknown Warrior, a tradition begun by the late Queen Mum.
Ceremony
English brides lead the processional down the aisle, with her bridesmaids in tow unescorted by ushers, who stand at the front of the church with the groom. The couple has selected the 32-person Choir of Westminster Abbey, the Chapel Royal Choir, the 39 musicians of the London Chamber orchestra, and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force to perform various selections, which royal officials say will include well-known hymns and choral works, as well as some specially-commissioned pieces. Some royal wedding staples have been Mendelssohn's Wedding March, the hymn The Lord's My Shepherd, and Widor's Toccata from Organ Symphony No. 5, which was the recessional music at Edward and Sophie's wedding. (Official recordings of Will and Kate's music will be available on iTunes May 5.) The ceremony itself will be divided between three officiants: the Dean of Westminster conducting the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury presiding over the vows, and the Bishop of London giving the address. Will and Kate will likely exchange traditional vows, with one possible exception: Back in 1999, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, caused an uproar for promising to "honour, cherish and obey" Prince Edward, a public relations nightmare the newest royal couple might want to avoid repeating.
Wedding Band
Beginning with the wedding of the Queen's late mother in 1923, all of the royal women's wedding bands have contained precious Welsh gold from the same nugget mined in Dolgellau, North Wales—a variety of gold that's three times more valuable than gold from Australia or South Africa. While the traditional nugget (similar to the one on the left) is almost depleted, the Queen has since been presented with another large nugget for subsequent weddings bands, including that of Sarah, Duchess of York and now Kate. Breaking with tradition, Will has decided not to wear a wedding ring. Even his father Charles wears a band in addition to his signet ring, but Will says he personally just isn't one for jewelry.
Reception
Most British weddings are held at noon and are followed by a seated luncheon called a "wedding breakfast" (a brunch, basically). The Queen's luncheon was held in the Ball supper-room at Buckingham Palace for a small party, as was Diana's for about 120 guests. Following Will and Kate's 11am ceremony, 600 guests will join the new couple at the Palace for a buffet-style wedding breakfast hosted by the Queen (the canapé menu is to be created by Chef Mark Flanagan, left). The reception will also include two cakes: one fruit (the traditional royal wedding choice) and one chocolate (at the request of Will). At 1:30pm, the couple will appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony to share a public kiss, a tradition begun by Charles and Diana. Usually, the royal couple then jets off to a honeymoon destination, but Kate and Will plan to stick around for a private dinner and night of dancing at the Palace hosted by the Prince of Wales.
Royal Titles
With a few exceptions, women who marry royal male successors assume their husbands' titles: The Duke and Duchess of York, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, etc. The most notable exception is, of course, Camilla, who adopted the title Duchess of Cornwall instead of the Princess of Wales out of respect for Diana. If Prince Charles becomes King, Camilla will be the Princess Consort, not Queen Camilla. Will and Kate's titles haven't yet been announced, but the most likely contenders are: Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Duke and Duchess of Connaught, and Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

No Sooner Met
Summary: Royal AU. Princess Elizabeth of France is forced to marry the future King of England, Forsythe Jones the Third to stop a war between their between their two countries but their first meeting does not go as planned. Based on this post.
Words: 2,668
Warnings: A brief sexual situation.
A/N: I was heavily inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet. I know some people, @jandjsalmon , have been asking for this fic and I thought I’d take a shot at it. I hope some of you like it. I’ve never written anything like this so if might suck.
This isn’t even remotely accurate historically and a few of these lines are Shakespeare’s not mine.
I also edited myself so there are probably mistakes.
“I do not wish to marry him mother!” Princess Elizabeth of France wailed as her plump lady in waiting, Jonet, laced her into her dress. “I do not love him!”
She was the eldest daughter of Henry Cooper, the ruling King of France. To quiet rising tensions between the French and the English she was set to marry the next King of England, Forsythe Phillip George Edward Jones the Third. Elizabeth knew little of him but what she did know she didn’t like. Promiscuous, entitled, egotistical.
“That is not what this is about, Elizabeth.” Queen Alice of France, scolded as she helped pin up her daughters flowing blonde hair. “Our kingdoms are on the verge of war, children of French and English blood will stop that war.”
“I want to marry Duke Archibald! He is of noble birth, he would make a fine husband!” Tears ran down her face and Jonet blotted them with a handkerchief.
“For a Countess possibly, but not for a Princess and future Queen!” Alice roared, pulling on her daughters hair. “You will meet Prince Forsythe, you will be pleasant, you will be ladylike, you will be of the nobility you were born into. You will entertain him at the masquerade tonight, you will be married and you will provide him with heirs.”
Elizabeth stood looking at herself in the mirror. The light lavender dress fashioned for this night was beautiful and different from any dress she had ever worn. The type of ball they were having required costumes so something a little less formal would not be frowned upon. The material was lighter and allowed her to move more freely than the heavier satin dresses she was used to wearing. White lace outlined the bust, sleeves and hem. She looked beautiful, glowing even, as her mother came up behind her.
“Don’t you want me to be happy?” Elizabeth asked.
Alice sighed. “My beautiful girl, happiness is something that people like us cannot afford. We live in this luxury and our penance is to make sure we keep our people alive. This marriage will do that.” Alice accepted an ornate gold tiara from Jonet and placed it on her daughters head. “Heavy is the head that wears the crown.” She planted a kiss on Elizabeth’s cheek and when her mother had left the room, the Princess began to sob.
Prince Forsthye was bored and annoyed. He had been traveling to Paris for so long he could hardly remember what London looked like. There were no women travelling with him that struck his fancy and all there was to do was listen to his mother drone on about his duty.
“You will marry this girl, Forsthye.” Queen Claudia of England told her eldest son. “While France needs this merger more than we do, we cannot afford to go to battle again so soon after the last war. There will be rioting in the streets.” She huffed re-adjusting her gown.
“Do they have anything in Paris other than fields?” He whined.
“We aren’t in Paris yet.” She leaned forward. “Your father is not well Forsthye, he has a sickness he cannot shake and when he takes his last breath our country will look to you to lead. I don’t care if you ever love her but you will take her as your wife because a king does what needs to be done.”
His father of the same name was traveling in a separate carriage resting for the party that night. King Forsythe the Second was looking paler by the day and the Prince knew his mother was right. Forsythe would be king soon, much quicker than he would have liked.
The party was something he was looking forward to though. He had met French girls before and knew they were without shame, willing to do anything to please him. He would meet his future wife and then go and find a good time.
They arrived in Paris within the hour and pulled up to a large lavish palace. People busied themselves carrying linens, trays of glassware, and fruits and vegetables in preparation for the affair that evening.
King Henry and Queen Alice were out front to welcome the English Royal family into theirs. The Prince’s future bride was no where to be seen.
Elizabeth had her royal robes draped over her dress as she peered into the ballroom which was packed full of royalty and nobility. They all wore outlandish costumes, each trying to outdo the other, every face covered in a mask.
She had told her mother that she wasn’t feeling well and would be late to the party. “Jonet, have you seen him? Duke Archibald, is he here?”
“M’lady, I have seen him, he is wearing a green mask with a diamond above each eye.” Jonet said, fussing over her.
“Did you speak to him? How am I going to get away to see him?” She growled in frustration. “I wish I knew this was my fate sooner. I would have kissed Archibald a little harder the last time we met." She looked away wistfully.
Jonet looked around to make sure they were alone. Her round cheeks pulled into a smile as she began pulling off Elizabeth’s robes. “Give me your crown.” She instructed.
“Jonet, what are you doing?” The young Princess asked in shock.
“You are too young to have this thrust upon you even though it will be so. Take tonight and kiss your Duke for the last time.” She smiled warmly. “What is it that writer you love so much says? ‘Go girl, seek happy nights to happy days.’”
Elizabeth took the mask she was being handed and tied it behind her head. She was smiling so widely her cheeks hurt. “Thank you, Jonet.” Elizabeth took off in search of the love she could never fulfill.
Once moving through the ballroom, it was even more full than it looked. There were hundreds of people there to welcome the English and Elizabeth could barely shove through the crowd. She was looking for her redheaded love while trying to avoid her mother.
She moved her head furiously until her eye was caught by a dark haired man staring at her. He was looking at her with a desperate need, as if she was the moon casting light and he a lost soul travelling by night. He was handsome, unlike any man she had seen. His skin was white and smooth like he was cut from marble. He had a carelessness exhibited through his simple, ill-fitting black and white wardrobe which she found fascinating. His lips were reddened with wine and parted, his eyes wide and blue. She noted a smattering of beauty marks on his cheek that looked like constellations, and in that moment, she wanted to trace the night sky.
Until a loud crash of silver and glass distracted her, she had forgotten where she was going and what she was doing. Shaking herself out of her trance and she darted away to find her Duke, pushing the stranger from her mind.
Forsythe downed his second glass of wine as he milled around the room. He was furious he still had not met Princess Elizabeth. She was still in her room, ill with ‘lady woes’. Forsythe knew this was a farce, she did not wish to marry him any more than he wished to marry her.
“Has the Princess appeared?” The Prince’s confidante, Kevin, asked filling their cups with wine.
“No, she has not.” He scoffed. “A restless woman does not a happy wife make.” He commented, taking another drink.
“At least the wine is better here. What piss we have been drinking in England.” Kevin laughed. He was dress exactly like the Prince. Tight black pants, a loose white shirt and an open black jacket. His mask lined was simple and black.
“To hell with this Princess, if she does not have any courtesy for me, then I will show none for her.” Forsythe said forcefully. “Have you spotted any young, pretty things?” He asked.
Kevin looked across the room and made eyes with an angel faced man in a blue mask. “I sure have.” He replied with a smirk.
Then the Prince saw her; a vision in lavender. Her long blonde hair, half up, half down, trailing behind her as she darted across the room. Her head was moving around as if she was looking for or hiding from someone. She wore a lavender lace mask with three white feathers billowing from the top and in her frantic search, her eyes met his.
“Who ever loved that loved not at first sight?” He whispered to himself. He took a step towards her but a loud crashing sound distracted him. When he looked back to she where stood only moments before, she was gone.
“Did you see her?” Forsythe asked, bunching Kevin’s shirt in his hand.
“Who?” Kevin asked looking around the room.
“The goddess in purple, the one with the golden hair spun from the heavens itself. The girl with the skin like milk and lips like cherries. Did you not see her?” He spun to his friend and with desperate eyes. “Was she not real?”
“I do not know, your Highness.”
“I must find her.” He finished his drink and handed Kevin his cup. “If my parents ask, say you have not seen me.”
Kevin nodded and Forsythe took off in the direction of the last place he had seen, what had to be, the most beautiful girl in the world.
Elizabeth was beginning to panic. She could not find him, the man she had been dreaming off every night when she went to sleep. She had to say goodbye to her beloved Duke Archibald.
She ducked into an alcove to catch her breath. “Where could he be?” She said aloud before she heard the sounds of moaning coming from around the corner. She peaked around the wall and gasped. There he was, Duke Archibald, with his signature red hair and moustache, a green mask on his face, a diamond above each eye. He was sweating and his eyes were closed, a dark haired harlot on her knees in front of him, doing things that only a wife should do.
Elizabeth ripped her mask from her face and covered her mouth to stifle a sob. “Oh, what dare men do!” She stated, heading back to the party with the intention of getting a drink to wash the fowl taste from her mouth. To make her forget she ever thought she could have a future with the Duke. She believed Archibald would ask her to run away with him and start a quiet life in the country. This would never be the case.
She was going to meet her Prince; any distraction was better than the pain within her chest. If Archibald could pretend to love her, she could pretend to love her future husband.
Her dress flowed around her, the feathers from her mask tickled her arm as she headed towards her the ball.
“Stop!” An English voice shouted at her.
She shook her head and wiped under her eyes, putting her mask back on. “Yes, what?” She answered, turning to look at who was summoning her. She knew she wouldn’t recognize him, his accent was English, he was with the party of people that came with her future husband.
She shouldn’t have recognized him but she did. He was the handsome stranger she has locked eyes with him earlier. Now that she was closer to him the effect he had on her before hit her tenfold and she felt short of breath.
“Hello.” He said, approaching her cautiously.
Elizabeth curtsied and bowed her head. “Bonjour.” She responded.
"A French girl." He mused. “Do you have a title, m’lady?” He asked.
In a split second she decided to lie, to be someone else for the rest of the night, her last night. “No, I’m one of Princess’ ladies in waiting.”
“You’re clothes say other wise.” He grinned taking a step towards her.
“The Queen wanted us all to look our best, for the English, for you.” She motioned towards the man and lowered her head.
“Certainly not for me, I am only an attendant of the Prince.” He took another step towards her.
She knew he was lying. No attendant would be able to stray as far as he had. He was probably a friend of the English family and just was trying to charm her, she would be a liar if she said it wasn’t working. The Princess went along with his lie. "What is the Prince like?" She asked gliding towards him, hoping she could get any information out of him.
He smirked, a lock of his raven hair falling in his eyes. “Well, he’s handsome and when he becomes king he’ll have a palace. Bigger than this one.” His comment was dripping with arrogance.
"He sounds incredibly pompous." She crossed her arms over her chest, pushing up her bosom.
The stranger lulled his head from side to side. "He can be."
"Is he kind? Is he caring? What do you have to say of his character?" She demanded, taking another step towards him.
The man’s facial features softened. “I think he wants to be but he can’t always be. His position doesn’t always allow for it. He wants to a good man but sometimes he looses sight of what's important."
“Do you think he’ll make a good King?” She asked, looking up at him. She hadn’t realized how close she was to him. He was taller than she originally thought.
“I do not know.” He whispered, running his fingers up and down her bare arms. "I saw you earlier, what were you running from?" He asked.
"I had to retrieve something for the Princess." She lied.
"Did you manage to find it?"
She shook her head. “No, she lost something that won't ever be found again." After talking to the stranger she was having a hard time remembering why that made her so sad.
"Don't underestimate something new." He whimsied, placing one hand on her waist and taking her hand in the other. They began to dance to the faint music in the empty corridor.
"The musicians are quite good here." The man commented.
"Only the best for this night." Elizabeth swayed with him shocked at how comfortable she was in his arms, all her worries seemed to be fading away, a swelling in her chest. ‘Is this what Juliet felt like when she saw her Romeo?’ she thought.
He brought his hands to her neck, his fingertips ghosting over her delicate skin. “I did not believe in heaven until this night, for now an angel stands before me.” He breathed.
She sighed, allowing herself to give in, to let something new heal old wounds. Her head fell back and her eyes closing. "Love should not be this sudden. Love like this only comes to the lucky few, to characters in books."
When he brushed his lips against hers she did not push him away. She put her hands on his waist and pulled him closer. He tasted like wine and smelled like the soap they made at the palace. His lips were soft and the stubble on his face rubbed against her sensitive skin. She moaned into his mouth.
“Princess Elizabeth!” Jonet called startling the two of them. They broke apart and the man stared at her with wide eyes full of shock.
At the exact same time a man around the same age as the stranger in front of her appeared. “Prince Forsythe!” He shouted jovially. “I have been asked to come and find you, dinner is about to be served!”  He grabbed his arm and started pulling him towards the party.
Jonet took Elizabeth’s hand and tugged her in the same direction. “Your mother is on the war path. Prepare yourself young lady.”
The future King and Queen of England did their best to maintain eye contact with each other as they were dragged back to their realities.
“Prince?” Elizabeth exhaled in disbelief.
“Princess?” Forsythe said, realizing his greatest love and greatest burden were one in the same.”

Queen Elizabeth II Biography and Profile
Tumblr media
Queen Elizabeth II was born Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on April 21, 1926, in London, to Prince Albert, Duke of York (later known as King George VI), and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. She married Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, in 1947, became queen on February 6, 1952, and was crowned on June 2, 1953. She is the mother of Prince Charles, heir to the throne, as well as the grandmother of princes William and Harry. As the longest-serving monarch in British history, she has tried to make her reign more modern and sensitive to a changing public while maintaining traditions associated with the crown.
Queen Elizabeth’s Health At the end of 2016, concerns about the Queen’s health grew. The Queen was reported to have a “heavy cold” and missed several traditional holiday events, including Christmas and New Year’s services. “The Queen does not yet feel ready to attend church as she is still recuperating from a heavy cold,” the palace said in a statement. She made her first public appearance in January 2017 since taking ill. At that time it was also announced that she would be cutting the number of charities of which she is a patron in an effort to reduce her work obligations.
Queen Elizabeth’s Husband Queen Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten (a surname adopted from his mother’s side) in the autumn of 1947. Elizabeth first met Philip, son of Prince Andrew of Greece, when she was only 13. She was smitten with him from the start. Distant cousins, the two kept in touch over the years and eventually fell in love. They made an unusual pair. Elizabeth was quiet and reserved while Philip was boisterous and outspoken. Her father, King George VI, was hesitant about the match because, while Mountbatten had ties to both the Danish and Greek royal families, he didn’t possess great wealth and was considered by some a bit rough in his personality.
At the time of their wedding, Great Britain was still recovering from the ravages of World War II, and Elizabeth collected clothing coupons to get fabric for her gown. The ceremony was held at London’s Westminster Abbey on November 20th. The family took on the name Windsor, a move pushed by her mother and Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and which caused tension with her husband. Over the years, Philip has inspired numerous public relations headaches with his off-the-cuff, edgy comments and rumors of possible infidelities.
Queen Elizabeth’s Children Elizabeth and Philip wasted no time in producing an heir: Son Charles was born in 1948, the year after their wedding, and daughter Anne arrived in 1950. Elizabeth had two more children — sons Andrew and Edward — in 1960 and 1964 respectively. In 1969, she officially made Prince Charles her successor by granting him the title of Prince of Wales. Hundreds of millions of people tuned in to see the ceremony on television.
In 1981 Prince Charles wed 19-year-old Diana Spencer (best known as Princess Diana), with later rumors surfacing that he was pressured into the marriage from his family. The wedding drew enormous crowds in the streets of London and millions watched the proceedings on television. Public opinion of the monarchy was especially strong at that time. The couple gave birth to Queen Elizabeth’s grandsons Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and successor to the throne, in 1982, and Prince Harry in 1984. Elizabeth has emerged as a devoted grandmother to William and Harry. Prince William has said that she offered invaluable support and guidance as he and Kate Middleton planned their 2011 wedding.
On July 22, 2013, Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson William and his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, welcomed their first child, George Alexander Louis — a successor to the throne known officially as “His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.” Elizabeth visited her new great-grandson after William and Kate returned home to Kensington Palace from the hospital. Two years later, on May 2, 2015, William and Kate welcomed their second child, Princess Charlotte, the Queen’s fifth great-grandchild. On April 23, 2018, the couple welcomed their third child, a son.
In addition to Prince William and Prince Harry, the Queen’s other grandchildren are Peter Phillips, Princess Beatrice of York, Princess Eugenie of York, Zara Tindall, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.
Queen Elizabeth: Coronation On February 6, 1952, Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, died, and she assumed the responsibilities of the ruling monarch. (She and Prince Philip had been in Kenya at the time of her father’s death.) Queen Elizabeth’s official coronation took place on June 2, 1953, in Westminster Abbey. For the first time ever, the ceremony was broadcast on television, allowing people from across the globe to witness the pomp and spectacle of the event.
Family Tree Queen Elizabeth II’s father, Prince Albert, was the second son of King George V and Queen Mary. She has ties with most of the monarchs in Europe. Her ancestors include Queen Victoria (ruled 1837 to 1901) and King George III (ruled 1760 to 1820).
In 1936, the course of Elizabeth’s life changed with the death of her grandfather, George V, with whom she was said to be close. Her uncle became King Edward VIII, but he was in love with American divorcée Wallis Simpson and had to choose between the crown and his heart. In the end, Edward chose Simpson and abdicated the crown. Elizabeth’s father became King George VI in 1937.
Young Queen Elizabeth At the time of her birth, most did not realize Elizabeth would someday become queen of Great Britain. Elizabeth got to enjoy the first decade of her life with all the privileges of being a royal without the pressures of being the heir apparent.
Elizabeth’s father and mother, also known as the Duke and Duchess of York, divided their time between a home in London and Royal Lodge, the family’s home on the grounds of Windsor Great Park. Elizabeth, nicknamed Lilibet, and her younger sister Margaret were educated at home by tutors. Academic courses included French, mathematics and history, with dancing, singing and art lessons undertaken as well.
With the outbreak of World War II in 1939, Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret largely stayed out of London, having been relocated to Windsor Castle. From there she made the first of her famous radio broadcasts, with this particular speech reassuring the children of Britain who had been evacuated from their homes and families. The 14-year-old princess, showing her calm and firm personality, told them “that in the end, all will be well; for God will care for us and give us victory and peace.”
Elizabeth soon started taking on other public duties. Appointed colonel-in-chief of the Grenadier Guards by her father, Elizabeth made her first public appearance inspecting the troops in 1942. She also began to accompany her parents on official visits within Britain.
In 1945, Elizabeth joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service to help in the war effort. She trained side-by-side with other British women to be an expert driver and mechanic. While her volunteer work only lasted a few months, it offered Elizabeth a glimpse into a different, non-royal world. She had another vivid experience outside of the monarchy when she and Margaret were allowed to mingle anonymously among the citizenry on Victory in Europe Day.
Queen Elizabeth II’s Reign Queen Elizabeth’s long and mainly peaceful reign has been marked by vast changes in her people’s lives, in her country’s power, how Britain is viewed abroad and how the monarchy is regarded and portrayed. As a constitutional monarch, Elizabeth does not weigh in on political matters, nor does she reveal her political views. However, she confers regularly with her prime ministers.
When Elizabeth became queen, post-war Britain still had a substantial empire, dominions and dependencies. However, during the 1950s and 1960s, many of these possessions achieved independence and the British Empire evolved into the Commonwealth of Nations. Elizabeth II has thus made visits to other countries as head of the Commonwealth and a representative of Britain, including a groundbreaking trip to Germany in 1965. She became the first British monarch to tour there in more than five decades.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Queen Elizabeth continued to travel extensively. In 1973 she attended the Commonwealth Conference in Ottawa, Canada, and in 1976 traveled to the United States for the 200th anniversary celebration of America’s independence from Britain. More than a week later she was in Montreal, Canada, to open the Summer Olympics. In 1979, she traveled to Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Oman, which garnered international attention and widespread respect.
In 1982, Elizabeth worried about her second son Prince Andrew, who served as a helicopter pilot in the British Royal Navy during the Falklands War. Britain went to war with Argentina over the Falklands Islands, a clash that lasted for several weeks. While more than 250 British soldiers died in the conflict, Prince Andrew returned home safe and well, much to his mother’s relief.
In 2011, Elizabeth showed that the crown still had symbolic and diplomatic power when she became the first British monarch to visit the Republic of Ireland since 1911.
As queen, Elizabeth has modernized the monarchy, dropping some of its formalities and making certain sites and treasures more accessible to the public. As Britain and other nations struggled financially, she welcomed the elimination of the Civil List, which was a public funding system of the monarchy dating back roughly 250 years. The royal family continues to receive some government support, but the Queen has had to cut back on spending.
Despite the occasional call to step aside for Prince Charles, Elizabeth remained steadfast in her royal obligations as she passed her 90th birthday. She continued making more than 400 engagements per year, maintaining her support of hundreds of charitable organizations and programs.
However, in late 2017 the monarchy took what was considered a major step toward transitioning to the next generation: On November 12, Prince Charles handled the traditional Remembrance Sunday duty of placing a wreath at the Cenotaph war memorial, as the Queen watched from a nearby balcony.
Relationship With Prime Ministers As of 2017, Elizabeth has had 13 prime ministers placed into power during her reign, with Queen and PM having a weekly, confidential meeting. (Elizabeth has also met about a quarter of all the U.S. presidents in history.) She enjoyed a father-figure relationship with the iconic Winston Churchill, and was later able to loosen up a bit and be somewhat informal with Labour leaders Harold Wilson and James Callaghan. In contrast, she and Margaret Thatcher had a very formal, distant relationship, with the PM tending to be a grating lecturer to the Queen on a variety of issues.
Tony Blair saw certain concepts around the monarchy as somewhat outdated, though he did appreciate Elizabeth making a public statement after the death of Princess Diana. Later, Conservative leader David Cameron, who is Elizabeth’s fifth cousin removed, enjoyed a warm rapport with the Queen. He apologized in 2014 for revealing in a conversation that she was against the Scottish referendum to seek independence from Great Britain. The most recent PM, Theresa May, has been described as being tight-lipped about Brexit plans to leave the European Union, with a rumor circulating that Elizabeth was perturbed over not being informed about future exit strategies.
Threats Elizabeth has worked tirelessly to protect the image of the monarchy and to prepare for its future. But she has seen the monarchy come under attack during her lifetime. The once-revered institution has weathered a number of storms, including death threats against the royal family. In 1979, Elizabeth suffered a great personal loss when Lord Mountbatten, her husband’s uncle, died in a terrorist bombing. Mountbatten and several members of his family were aboard his boat on August 29th, off the west coast of Ireland, when the vessel exploded. He and three others, including one of his grandsons, were killed. The IRA (Irish Republican Army), which opposed British rule in Northern Ireland, took responsibility for the attack.
In June 1981, Elizabeth herself had a dangerous encounter. She was riding in the Trooping the Colour, a special military parade to celebrate her official birthday, when a man in the crowd pointed a gun at her. He fired, but, fortunately, the gun was loaded with blanks. Other than receiving a good scare, the Queen was not hurt. She had an even closer call the following year when an intruder broke into Buckingham Palace and confronted Elizabeth in her bedroom. When the press got wind of the fact that Prince Philip was nowhere to be seen during this incident, they speculated about the state of the royal marriage.
Tabloid Scandals The marriage of Queen Elizabeth’s son, Prince Charles, to Princess Diana made headlines for years before the couple announced plans to divorce in 1992. In the wake of Princess Diana’s death in 1997, Elizabeth went under intense media scrutiny. Her incredibly popular ex-daughter-in-law, sometimes nicknamed the People’s Princess, died from injuries in a Paris car crash on August 31st. The Queen was at her Balmoral estate in Scotland with Prince Charles and his and Diana’s two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, at the time. For days, Elizabeth remained silent while the country mourned Diana’s passing, and she was sharply criticized for her lack of response. Stories circulated that the Queen did not want to give Diana a royal funeral, which only fueled public sentiment against the monarch. Nearly a week after Diana’s death, Elizabeth returned to London and issued a statement on the late princess.
Another of Queen Elizabeth’s children, Prince Andrew, ended up in the tabloids, after photos emerged of his wife Sarah Ferguson and another man engaged in romantic activity.
In November 2017, the media turned its attention back to the Queen, this time over reports of some $13 million invested in offshore accounts. The news came following the leak of the so-called “Paradise Papers” to a German newspaper, which shared the documents with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. The Duchy of Lancaster, which holds assets for the Queen, confirmed that some of its investments were overseas accounts, but insisted they were all legitimate.
Also in 2017, the former owner of the lingerie company Rigby & Peller, which had serviced Queen Elizabeth for more than 50 years, wrote a tell-all autobiography that included some of her experiences with the royal family. Although the author insisted that “the book doesn’t contain anything naughty,” the Queen responded in early 2018 by revoking Rigby & Peller’s royal warrant.
Loss and Change After the start of the 21st century, Elizabeth experienced two great losses. She said goodbye to both her sister Margaret and her mother in 2002, the same year she celebrated her Golden Jubilee, or 50th year on the throne. Margaret, known for being more of an adventurous soul than other royals and who was barred from marrying an early love, died that February after suffering a stroke. Only a few weeks later, Elizabeth’s mother, known as the Queen Mother, died at Royal Lodge on March 30th at the age of 101.
Known to be a stickler for ceremony and tradition, Elizabeth eventually started to show signs of softening her stance. She had objected to the relationship between Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, with the pair having been involved while the prince was married. When the two wed in 2005, Elizabeth and Prince Philip had a reception in their honor at Windsor Castle.
Diamond Jubilee Elizabeth celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, marking 60 years as queen. As part of the jubilee festivities, a special BBC concert was held on June 4th featuring the likes of Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder and Kylie Minogue. Elizabeth was surrounded by family at this historic event, including her husband Philip, son Charles and grandsons Harry and William. On September 9, 2015, she surpassed her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria as Britain’s longest ruling monarch, who reigned for 63 years.
Sapphire Jubilee On February 6, 2017, the Queen celebrated 65 years on the throne, the only British monarch to ever celebrate her Sapphire Jubilee. The date also marks the anniversary of the death of her father. The Queen chose to spend the day quietly at Sandringham, her country estate north of London, where she attended a church service.
In London, there were royal gun salutes at Green Park and at the Tower of London to mark the occasion. The Royal Mint also issued eight new commemorative coins in honor of the Queen’s Sapphire Jubilee.
Queen Elizabeth: Movies and Plays Keeping in mind the duration of her reign, Elizabeth has been played by a number of well-known actresses on both stage and screen. She has perhaps most famously been portrayed by Helen Mirren, who received an Oscar and Golden Globe, among other accolades, for her starring role in 2006’s The Queen, directed by Stephen Frears. Mirren later played Elizabeth in The Audience, a West End and Broadway play which chronicled the Queen’s aforementioned meetings with various prime ministers and for which the actress earned a 2015 Tony Award. Elizabeth later received a dramatic stage treatment from the formidable Kristin Scott Thomas, who starred in The Audience in 2015.
The Queen has also been played in various films over the decades by lookalike Jeannette Charles and was portrayed by Emma Thompson in the Playhouse Presents TV episode Walking the Dogs (2012). Elizabeth has been more recently portrayed on television screens by Claire Foy; the actress depicts the future monarch at the time of her marriage and political relationship with Churchill (John Lithgow) in Netflix’s The Crown, which debuted in autumn 2016. Foy received a Best Actress Golden Globe for the role.
Corgis For much of her life, the Queen has surrounded herself with dogs. She is especially known for her love of corgis, owning more than 30 descendants of the first corgi she received as a teenager, until the death of the final one, Willow, in 2018. Elizabeth is also a horse enthusiast who bred thoroughbreds and attended racing events for many years.
Not one for the spotlight, Elizabeth likes quiet pastimes. She enjoys reading mysteries, working on crossword puzzles and even watching wrestling on television.

Ken Penders and how his misinformed view of how monarchies work ruined not only what could have been a good au story but also Sonally
*profanity warning*
Now, just to preface as you may have gathered from my current icon and some of my art, I primarily ship Sonamy, however that does not mean that I hate Sally or Sonally, as a matter of fact I really like Sally as a character, she subverts some of the typical princess tropes (which I’ll get to later) and her relationship with Sonic, especially in SatAm is really fun to watch, they bounce off of each other so well.
Now, as you are probably aware in the Archie sonic comics there was this side story of sorts written by Ken Penders called Mobius:25 years later which portrayed our cast of freedom fighters as adults, married with kids. One of the most notable examples was how Sonic marries Sally, they have kids called Sonia and Manik (which I’ll concede is a nice little reference to Sonic Underground) and the two of them now reign as King and Queen.
Tumblr media
But…This is not how royalty works. For you see, in no monarchy system would marrying a queen (or princess in line for the throne) make you a king, or at least it would not make you a reigning king like how sonic is portrayed in these stories. Let me explain. You know Queen Elizabeth II? Queen of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Commonwealth, etc?
Tumblr media
Well she has a husband, Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Tumblr media
But wait, I hear you say, Prince? According to Penders logic he should be the King of England!
Well you see, that’s not how it works, there are two types of kings/queens, regnant and consorts. Regnants are those who are born into a position of power, they inherit the throne through blood and when they become King/Queen they will rule. Sally is an example of a Queen regnant (or at least she will be when she takes the throne) as she is the daughter of King Acorn and the next in line to the throne. Some real-life examples would be Queen Elizabeth the first, Queen Victoria and the aforementioned Queen Lizzy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(apologies for using only British examples, I live in the UK so it’s what I’m familiar with)
Now getting onto Consorts, you may have heard the term used in the comics before as I believe Sonic is at one time referred to as Sally’s “royal consort” A consort is someone who marries into a royal family( whether they be a commoner or from another royal family) and in the case of a consort who marries a regnant, traditionally their role is to provide heirs for the regnant so as to continue the bloodline however they do not rule the kingdom; you can get queen consorts, real-life example the Queen Mum,
Tumblr media
and prince-consorts, sometimes but rarely referred to as King-consorts but I’ll get to that later. This is what Prince Philip is and what Sonic should be in M:25yl and its related stories.
Now, you might argue that Ken Penders knows what he’s doing and simply decided to call Sonic king-consort rather than prince-consort but do you really think Penders is that smart? Of fucking course not. King Sonic makes decisions regarding his kingdom and Mobius, hell, a significant part of the original M:25yl arch was Sonic’s mid-life crisis (there’s a term I thought I’d never have to type out) over the fact that he’s stuck doing diplomatic shit and running a goddamn kingdom! Sally should be doing all this shit!
But what exactly is Sally actually doing? Playing “Desperate housewives of Mobius” with Julie-Su.
Tumblr media
Having pool parties and sleepovers and gossiping with the other women of this timeline “oh haha can you believe our husbands”
NO! Just fucking no! What in the flying fuck happened to my badass rebel leader Sally? Like I get that for the most part this timeline is peaceful but when shit starts going down she just lets Sonic “act first and think later” the Hedgehog deal with it?
Tumblr media
Hell, even in the slightly better story Mobius:30 years later when she wants to help when a crisis is happening she’s  just told to sit in the panic room and a kiss is all it takes for her to go along with this. Fuuuuucckkk.
And this is where everything starts falling apart. If for once we agree with Penders and view Mobius as a world where the royal consort can rule and has to make these important decisions, why would Sonic marry Sally?. I mean, sure for love and all that, but I cant help but think back to issue #134; yes, THAT one, “The Slap”
Tumblr media
And look, I’m not going to go too deep into this, that’s not the focus here, and I certainly don’t think Sally is the world’s biggest bitch for this moment but… I understand why Sonic hesitated. He’s a free spirit, he likes being able to do whatever the heck he wants (within reason of course), its why there’s a hurdle with even my favourite pairing, Sonamy; Amy wants marriage and commitment, Sonic wants freedom and not being tied down, It’s the same with Sonally, Sonic never truly feels ready for adult responsibilities like that. It’s a shame, really because I genuinely enjoy the chemistry between Sonic and Sally but it just cant really work in the long term in this messed up world Penders has created.
Which is why I’ve thought up of some alternatives First: Sally decides to fuck the monarchy and becomes a full-time freedom fighter. Ok, let me explain. Pre-super Genesis Wave King  Max Acorn is an abusive dickhead (Nigel is cool though)
Tumblr media
At one point he gives Sally the option of taking Antione as her consort, or he’ll disown her…okay what the hell. I could go into this subject more but plenty of other tumblr users have covered this so I digress. But I would’ve liked Sally to perhaps have chosen the disown option, to have chosen Sonic and the other freedom fighters. I dunno maybe some would consider it too OOC? Sally is very responsible and is the sort that does whats best for her subjects rather than herself. So here’s option two:
Mobius:25 years later done right, AKA  Sonic is an actual fucking consort. Right, imagine this, Sally as a badass queen who gets shit done. Slumber parties? Skype gossip sessions? She ain’t got time for that, bitch gotta country to run. And Sonic? Well Prince Consort Sonic’s duties are to look after the kids and occasionally smile and wave for the cameras and you know what this isn’t a demeaning thing!
Tumblr media
Remember Princess Diana, she was a consort and she did all sorts of charity work, going to an active mine field, shaking the hand of an AIDS victim, and a shit ton of other amazing things. Imagine the impact of the Hero of Mobius doing stuff like that, Sonic could spend time working on issues he cares about but without the pressure of running a flipping country. It would present a nice side to Sonic, and still, he’s Sonic, he can still kick ass if you need an actual non slice of life plot.
I might do stuff related to this in the future but who knows? These are my thoughts anyways.

Picture Show (or, The OOPSCARS)
I derive from an area of rural Missouri (The Show Me State) where some still refer to going to see a movie at the theater as, “Going to the SHOW.”
Other than the last few World Series outcomes and the Super Bowl a few weeks prior, off the top of my head the 89th Academy Awards Best Picture envelope mix-up is the most bizarre thing I’ve seen unfold on live television. What a show! I won’t add much more as there are plenty of articles, social media swaps, insider commentary and “think pieces” on La La Land passing the Oscar to Moonlight.
However, it has me thinking of my own playful “Oops! We messed up! The real winner is ACTUALLY ... “ results with the Academy’s top prize. Or, simply the films that have stuck far more to me than others over the years. Many of the top winners are fine films, but I prefer others. And in some cases there’s a tie. In the end, awards don’t matter as we like what we like surrounded by much larger fish to fry in the oil pan of life. But, to further my self-serving at the culture buffet, there are many times the Academy nailed it (even in cases where I shamefully didn’t see all respective nominees).
For the record, extensive research and reminders would be far too exhaustive an attempt to highlight all the films I fantasy-feel should have made the Best Picture nomination cut in a given year. (That would be for another opinionated and elongated discussion.) Therefore, I’ll just stick to those picks that are stuck in true time. Also, I won’t span the entirety of the 89 awards, rather the last 50. I guess this also reveals I have catching up to do with many pictures prior to the 1970s. Not to mention a good chunk sprinkled throughout the years of this little exercise.
I’m declaring myself ineligible for the years I’ve barely seen any Best Picture nominated films or, gulp, none at all. (And from what I understand not seeing all films nominated doesn’t stop actual Oscar voters. Which, is a little weird to me.) There are even a handful of the big winners I’ve yet to see. What kind of film fan am I? (Confession: Moonlight ... I wanted to see you for months but it never worked out. Sorry. Congrats, though!) So, really, why am I doing this? Because it’s fun! It’s hard to see or remember them all, so this may help me fill in the gaps. I’m not in it for an argument. Does the “O” in OSCAR stand for OPINION or OOPS?

Princess Margarets love of heavenly nephew Prince Charles revealed
Princess Margaret’s never-before-seen letters to her American socialite best friend reveal she thought her five-month-old nephew, Prince Charles, was ‘heavenly’.
Written between 1949 and 1950 the letters were all written to Sharman Douglas, an American socialite and daughter of the then US ambassador to the Royal Court in London.
A 19-year-old Margaret, who was rumoured to have had a two-year lesbian affair with her 21-year-old friend, thanks Sharman for invitations to a variety of dinners, parties and social occasions.
And in one of 10 letters on Buckingham Palace notepaper the princess says she would ‘adore’ it if her friend would meet her nephew and heir to the throne, Charles.
Margaret with her friend Sharman Douglas at Royal Ascot in 1950. In her letters the Queen’s younger sister wrote of her pride and excitement at the prospect of showing off the heir to the throne
Princess Margaret reminded her friend Sharman Douglas of when she mentioned a wish to meet her baby nephew Charles while the pair were at the 400 Club in Leicester Square
Written between 1949 and 1950 the letters were all written to Sharman Douglas, an American socialite and daughter of the then US ambassador to the Royal Court in London
The Queen’s younger sister wrote of her pride and excitement at the prospect of showing off her sister Elizabeth’s first-born child.
One letter read: ‘In that last fleeting moment in the 400 (the 400 Club in Leicester Square) you said you’d like to come and see my heavenly nephew. I don’t know quite when you stop work but…I would adore to show him to you.’
A running theme in the correspondence is the Princess expressing her thanks for having been invited to dinner parties hosted by the Douglas family.
After one such ball in July 1949 Margaret described how she had been so ecstatic the morning after she put her party dress on and performed the Can-Can for her mother, the Queen Mum.
She wrote: ‘Thank you a thousand times for your magnificent ball last night.. I was feeling so over-excited by the time our Can-Can was due that I could hardly breathe.
‘Mummie came in to my room and I was so ecstatic about the whole thing that I had to dress up and do the whole thing for her!’
Margaret also described how thrilled she had been to meet American film stars Danny Kaye and Robert Montgomery at another party in June 1949.
The royal family during a visit to Balmoral castle in 1951. A young Prince Charles is accompanied by his baby sister Princess Anne, his grandmother who later became known as the Queen mother, Princess Margaret, Prince Philip, King George and the future Queen Elizabeth II
A running theme in the correspondence is the Princess expressing her thanks for having been invited to dinner parties hosted by the Douglas family. In this letter dated 1949 she thanks her host ‘a thousand times’
One morning after a party the young princess was so excited by her can-can she put her evening dress back on and performed for her mother
But her excitement was tainted with fear as she believed she had made a fool of herself at the social gathering.
She said: ‘I woke up this morning and thought with horror how I could have been brave enough to have sung in front of all these frightfully professional people!
‘With a slight shudder I remembered how I’d sung every song and grew more and more nauseous as my recollections off the evening grew clearer! The only solace was the memory of Robert Montgomery rolling o the soap kicking his legs in the air!’
In another revealing letter Margaret admonished herself for forgetting to take her personal bodyguard with her when she and Sharman decided to go to the cinema on the spur of the moment.
She called herself an ‘absolute idiot and forgetting to ask…Sergeant Green to come with us.’
She added: ‘Luckily being a sensible man he dashed after us and all was well, but it was stupidly unthinking on my part.’
Another letter thanks her host for an evening where she met American film stars Danny Kaye and Robert Montgomery at another party in June 1949
Despite enjoying her evening the young princess worries she made a fool of herself by singing in front of ‘frightfully professional people’
The collection of letters have now been consigned for sale by a member of the Douglas family.
Auctioneer Chris Ewbank, of Ewbanks of Surrey, said: ‘Whatever may have come later, these letters show a charming young princess, full of life, thoughtful and with impeccable manners.
‘While she clearly loved a party and the excitement of the social round, what she has to say here shows that that she was just as susceptible as anyone else to the self-doubts of being a teenager, and valued the friendship of the Douglas family as a whole.
‘The tone and content of the letters recapture not just the vitality and attractiveness of the young Princess on the cusp of adulthood, but also the atmosphere of the times.
‘They are like a time capsule that returns us to the moment.’
Sharman Douglas’ father, Lewis Douglas, was the US ambassador to the Royal Court in London between 1947 and 1950.
During her time in London she became very close to Margaret was rumoured to have had a two year relationship with her.
The sale takes place on March 22.
One dinner party lasted from 4.30pm to 1am as Margaret stayed for dinner and was asked to go to see a film on the spur of the moment
Unfortunately Margaret forgot to ask her personal body guard with her to see a film. She was saved only when Sergeant Greene was forced to run after them
A young Charles on a deer surrounded by his family including his grandmother who later became known as Queen Mother, Princess Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, Princess Anne and King George
When Sharman – known as ‘Charmin’ Sharman’ or ‘Sass’ – arrived at the Court of St James in 1947, she immediately struck up a warm friendship with Margaret. Then aged 19 the princess was 17 and the pair began to spend time together. In this letter Margaret thanks her friend for a Christmas present

Princess Eugenie of York married her longtime commoner boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, Friday in a stunning Peter Pilotto gown and a royal Russian-style tiara, in a lower-key repeat of the nuptials that enchanted the world when Prince Harry wed his American girlfriend Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle in May.
The new couple left St. George’s Chapel and kissed on the steps while a gaggle of bridesmaids and page boys, including Princess Charlotte and Prince George, followed them out. They climbed into the glass-enclosed Scottish State Coach for a 15-minute carriage procession through Windsor, past gathered fans on the High Street.
The assembled guests at the second royal wedding in five months featured Eugenie’s many royal relatives led by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the bride’s grandparents, who entered the church to a trumpet fanfare.
Harry and Meghan, who wore a deep navy blue coat-and-dress outfit by Givenchy with a matching fascinator, entered the church to cheers, as did Prince William and Duchess Kate of Cambridge, dressed in a claret-colored dress, but they slipped in quickly to avoid grabbing too much of the spotlight.
The bride’s dress, by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos of the British-based label Peter Pilotto, featured a fitted bodice and full pleated skirt with an off-the-shoulder neckline that folds around the shoulders to a low back that draped into a flowing full-length train. The low back feature was at the specific request of Eugenie who had surgery at age 12 to correct scoliosis, according to Buckingham Palace.
She wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, lent to her by the queen. The diamonds-and-emeralds tiara was made by Boucheron in 1919 in the “kokoshnik” style popularized in the Russian Imperial Court. Her diamond and emerald earrings were a wedding gift from the groom.
The royal bride may not be as well known outside Britain, let alone her groom, 32-year-old Jack Brooksbank, a former bartender turned tequila brand rep, but a royal wedding is still something in the United Kingdom and the ancient town of Windsor was celebrating.
Even before dawn, hours before the ceremony was to begin in St. George’s Chapel inside the castle gates, people gathered in the narrow flag-festooned streets in front of souvenir shops stuffed with royal wedding knickknacks (although much of it featured Harry and Meghan).
The wind was described as gusty, which was a problem for the female guests and the elaborate hats that are required head gear at a royal wedding. But it didn’t rain and by the time of the carriage procession, the sun was peeping through the clouds.
Celebrity guests were among the first of the arrivals, including Chelsy Davy, Prince Harry’s former girlfriend who is a close friend of Eugenie. Liv Tyler, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were also spotted entering the church. Cara Delevingne and Demi Moore were also there.
Eugenie’s uncle, the queen’s youngest son Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, were among the first senior royals to arrive, with their son James, Viscount Severn. Their daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, will be in the bridal party.
They were followed by Eugenie’s aunt, Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, and her daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, and her son, Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn.
Large signs at the castle’s ticket booth welcomed people to the wedding, but many visitors earlier in the week seemed unaware of what was going to happen, the Associated Press reported.
“No interest,” said Michael Taylor, a drummer from Chicago who toured the imposing castle Wednesday — but didn’t know about the wedding. “I don’t know anything about her. If she walked past me right now, I wouldn’t even know.”
Eugenie, 28, and one of Harry’s cousins, is the younger daughter of Queen Elizabeth II’s second son, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and the sister of Princess Beatrice, 30. Sarah wore a Kelly green dress and hat (the dress designed by local Windsor company Emma Louise Design), while Beatrice was in a royal blue off-the-shoulder dress from Ralph & Russo with a headband-style fascinator.
Eugenie and her sister are among the eight grandchildren of the queen, 92, and her husband, Prince Philip, 97, who led the extended royal family at the wedding. Philip is frail, retired from public life, and still recovering from hip surgery but he walked unaided behind his wife into the church. The queen was dressed in a pale blue coat and dress outfit and hat.
On the eve of the wedding Eugenie and Brooksbank were interviewed on ITV, which carried the wedding live in the U.K. Eugenie said she was so excited about the wedding she will be “running down the aisle.”
She and her father arrived at the wedding in a Rolls Royce Phantom VI, presented to the queen in 1978 for her Silver Jubilee. It was also the same Rolls the former Kate Middleton rode in to her wedding to Prince William at Westminster Abbey in 2011.
Eugenie carried a bouquet that complemented her dress and tiara and also featured a royal floral tradition: Besides lily of the valley, Stephanotis pips, hints of baby blue thistles, white spray roses and trailing ivy, the bouquet contained sprigs of myrtle from Queen Victoria’s Osbourne House. A sprig from a posy she was once given was planted against the terrace walls there and continues to thrive. Since 1858, royal bouquet have contained sprigs from that myrtle.
Special guests representing British charities assembled  inside the castle gates near the chapel where they watched guests and the wedding party arrive.
Some of the 800-plus guests and 1,200 special guests representing charities began arriving around 4 a.m. ET, two hours before the start of the ceremony.
Prince William and Duchess Kate’s two eldest children, Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, served as page boy and bridesmaid – their third family wedding in 15 months. Wearing white outfits by Amaia Arrieta of Amaia Kids, the children appeared lively and excited.
The only senior member of the family who did not attend was Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, the wife of Prince Charles, Eugenie’s uncle, who had a long-planned prior engagement at a school in Scotland.
As happened at the earlier wedding, the ceremony was followed by a carriage procession through part of Windsor in a shorter version of the carriage procession Harry and Meghan had.
After the procession, the families assembled in the White Drawing Room at the castle to take the official pictures. Guests then were scheduled to attend  lunch hosted by the queen at the castle, followed by an evening reception hosted by Eugenie’s parents at Royal Lodge on the castle estate.
The Sussex wedding featured two receptions, one hosted by the queen and one hosted by Prince Charles that evening. Eugenie and Jack will have a two-day reception, with an all-day festival-style event scheduled for Saturday at the Royal Lodge.
After the wedding, Eugenie, who works for a London art gallery, is expected to keep her royal title, HRH Princess Eugenie, but will likely add Mrs. Jack Brooksbank.
