Stunning bmw 640d benefitting from a Terraclean service this morning in Deeside. We had this #alfaromeo #giulietta in for #aircon service after it had been to another garage who advised the owner that the heater blower needed replacing at a cost of £950!!! The #ac system had no #refrigerant in it but #noleak so we carried out our normal service of vacuum, leak check and refill with fresh refrigerant. The reason the ac or heaters weren't working was due to the fan resistor being inoperative (common failure) a £65 fix for a genuine Alfa Romeo part! So… a few of you guessed it was a rib👍 This is the Welsh governments research vessel used for offshore underwater surveys. It has been stood for over 12 months due to covid and diesel bug had formed in the fuel. Because both tanks were full we were tasked with the job of polishing the fuel and returning it back to the tanks👍 The vessel was lifted out of the water at Port Dinorwic for us to carry out the work. Using our mobile fuel polishing kit we quickly had the 800 litres removed & cleaned safely into an IBC before using a wet vac around inside of the tanks. Once both tanks were spotlessly clean the freshly polished diesel was returned to the tanks with an additive added to prevent future problems. #seat #ibiza in for a #dpf fault yesterday... glow plug light & engine management light on! The owner had it in a local garage to be fixed and was told to just keep running it up the motorway and it will rectify itself! And if that didn’t work it needs a dpf costing £1500!!! 150 miles later and the lights were still on🤦‍♂️ we plugged it in to our diagnostics and found an error code for implausible signal from dpf pressure sensor? On further investigation found the sensor was reading 21psi back pressure! A maunual check with a gauge showed just 2psi back pressure meaning a faulty sensor... we changed the sensor and straight away the lights extinguished and the vehicle came out of limp mode☺️ £95 and it was all fixed💪 If the owner had of gone down the route of a new dpf then he would still of had the fault with the sensor and would’ve been £1500 out of pocket! The driver had hired it over #Christmas and before returning it went for the cheapest fuel on the pump which was adblue!!! They managed to get back to the yard where it rattled and stopped!
