Did you know Johnny's Birthday is VALENTINE'S DAY?? This is both a blessing and a curse because while Emma literally CAN'T forget his Birthday, she also has to figure out how to keep the two occasions(and the gifts for each) separate!

Ofc they both go overboard for Valentine's day, bit also surprisingly Halloween?? These two absolutely KILL any couples costume. Johnny was particularly fond of the doctor and the nurse.(She REFUSED to dress overly skimpy though. He loves his stubborn girly)

Christmas is also pretty darn big for the two of them. Both come from MAJOR Christmas-loving families and so naturally they go big or go home.

Speaking of family- Immediately after meeting her, Emma and Johnny's Momma "Bunny" became like- besties?? They sneak out for girls' night like once month and Johnny STILL hasn't caught on yet. They're starting to think he never will.

Also, that little girl Suzie next door? Yeah, she's the biggest Johnny x Emma fan in Aron City. She ADORES Emma, much to Johnny's dismay. If he couldn't get away from Suzie before, he certainly can't get rid of her now that she's gotten attached to his girlfriend.

The two of them end up looking after her all the time. Suzie has probably been a part of over a fourth of their dates.😅

Back to the couple- these two have been kicked out of SO many restaurants, it isn't even funny. And every one of them was poor Johnny's fault.

You know those cheesy shirts that say "I flexed so hard the sleeves fell off?" Well, one night they were out for dinner and he flexed so hard hos whole damn shirt fell off.

They were then both promptly thrown out under the "No shirt, No shoes, No service" rule.

They didn't mind, though. They just went and drove around for a little while talking about hair care and whatnot.

Johnny absolutely LOVES having Emma tag along with him to the gym. He adores any chance to have her staring at his muscles, but what he loves even more is ditching the weights and just lifting HER instead. The laughs he gets out of her then are worth more than gold.

Any day he gets to work out, be swooned over, AND make Emma giggle is a good day in his book. And lucky for him- that's almost everyday.

My current WIP is a canon multi-POV story of HBP!

It's been a rewarding emotional rollercoaster to say the least. For years I've had this idea that if I wrote a story it would explore Ginny and Hermione POV's. But when I sat down to do the writing, I couldn't help myself but add a Harry POV in there. And then, how can we leave out Ron?

So. It spiraled.

I didn't quite realize the undertaking of multiple POV stories. The major challenge has been shifting character POV's between chapters and having their voices still ring true to character. So, it takes me a long time to get in and out of each character's mindset.

For example, I needed two weeks to decompress from Hermione's POV in All Interesting (Part Two) 😂

However, it's been so rewarding to finally get to work on these headcanons I've held on to for years!

As a lifelong reader, but new author, here are some ways I keep the story clear in my head and attempt to remain true to canon:

Master List Calendar: containing the key events throughout the Spring Term of HBP (painfully accurate dates!) and the key development points for each character.

Character Charts: containing character arc notes, their quirks, what they do when they're anxious/happy/sad, imagery descriptors in how that character views the world (ex. Hermione's POV inspired by famous British literature) AND how each character views the others, especially their future partner (ex. my Ginny uses ideas that evoke water/bubbling up feelings in regards to Harry).

Relationship Charts: It's no secret, I'm a Hinny shipper 4eva. But it was really important to me to explore the non-romantic relationships in the story as well. Ex. Harry and Hermione's interactions, Ginny and Hermione, Ginny and Ron (<3). So I have another chart just for their relationship with the others. And the arcs those relationships take.

Scene Snippets: There are so many scene "snippets" I've written over the years of interactions between these four. What I'll do is rework the scene from different angles to see what POV it best serves.

My usual writing process is in three rounds after an initial outline: 1) get the key dialogue or events on the page, 2) fill in the POV character's thoughts and reactions to the scene to frame their arc, and then 3) go through to add in their imagery/voice/personal details.

Future Fics

As I outlined TIB's (my current WIP), a natural spin off happened for a Ginny-centric version of Deathly Hallows and after the war. So I have an outline for that story, which I'm really excited to get working on. In all honesty, right now TIBs is my way of laying the groundwork for that.

I still plan to explore the other POV's, but I imagine those to be medium length multi-chapter fics instead of what I did with my current WIP.
