I'm still on my journey of rereading La mémoire de Babel and even though I'm progressing super slowly, I'm inspired to make fanart :D usually I hate doing character line-ups but once in a while they actually turn out good TvT

top 5 or top 10 romances & couples?

I wrote about the romances in general, now it’s time to yell about the ships.

Kyo and Tohru from Furuba - not sure if I even shipped anything harder than them :D I wanted to add Furuba to the list in the previous answer, but I thought that it’s evident that I consider it a good romance story. I love Kyoru, but I guess the storyline in Furuba that gave me most feels is the story of Tohru’s parents. And gotta be honest, the ship always had me the most entertained (in a terrible way) is the problematic dog and his lover :D 

Howl and Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle - how could I not love a couple when one of them expresses their feelings with throwing some weedkiller at another? And I love how DWJ writes romance in general, the stories are never centeed on it, but such relationships in her books are really interesting and theit development is fun to follow.  

The messy wizards couple from Uprooted, some time ago I illustrated this dynamic I’m often drawn to :D 

Thorn and Ophelie from La passe-miroir - probably latest fictional couple that caused much feelings rise in me. Such chaotic messes with trouble expressing feelings for many valid and understandable reasons but uh. (Here I got sad I’m still unable to read books and cannot finish lpm so I’ll stop talking about them for now)

Fakir and Ahiru from Princess Tutu - their storyline was a big surprise for me, kind of “never knew I needed this but ugh I did” 

Irie and Nobuko from Mobuko no Koi - two introverts in love, being serious, honest, ready to talk about problems with human words, going places and eating tasty food. Me liking a couple/ship happens suddenly and doesn’t require it to be ‘healthy 10/10 would recommend’, but when I read Mobuko, I think that their relationship is something nice to have irl.

Anzai and Tsukasa from Devils Line - yeah I live in the alternate universe where DL is an urban fantasy with no social and politics subplots and the story is a mere slice of life but with vampires :”D Will forever be bitter about all the slice of life potential I saw in this series, but okay I’m the one to blame. It’s also about the Contrast tm and some obstacles getting in the way they can do nothing about.

Neil and Eva from To The Moon game series. Brilliant ironicsarcastic convos, traveling though the sea of sadness abd bitter memories of other people together, and deep care.

Royai from FMA - loyalty, secrecy, me yelling in the background.

and Mokuren and Shion fro PSME. Oh, there is so much about them, such a complicated and messed up relationship. But I’m gonna yell forever about the Contrast tm they have. And designs too. (special mention of the couple from The Winner’s trilogy bc it made me think about both PSME and Basara main couple)

I need to read a fanfic where Thorn, while crushing on Ophélie, is totally onlivious to her not-so-subtle advances anymore, and explains them away with "She's just being nice because She's a friend" "She's just like that" "I guess Animists are a more tactile and open culture than the Pole" and needs somebody (Archibald) to spell it out for him, just in time bc poor Ophélie was getting hopeless and ready to give up

I like how the fandom (or at the very least the fanfic writing side of it) collectively agreed that Thorn finds Ophélie super hot in pants/uniform, but I have yet to see any mention of his thoughts all flying through the windows when he'll see Ophélie in thigh-high stockings (because they most likely dont have tights at tye Pole so they use overknee socks and tie them in place with a ribbon or sth)

Some LPM fanart I made when I started re-reading volume 3 about a month ago ;v; have some post-time skip tired Ophelie serving waffles on the clock celebration from a scene allll the way into the book's beginning :D

I got to do my most favoritest thing again, cutting letters out of magazines- even though it almost never fits my initial vision, I love the process :D
