One really good thing I think Princess and the Dragon (and the Pristine Cut in general) added was how it changed the way the split between the harsh/soft princess reads (gonna be referring to them as Harsh and Soft for the rest of this post for simplicity).

Pre-Pristine Cut I saw a good amount of people (mostly on YouTube, I don't think I saw many here) commenting that they preferred the Harsh Princess because they felt that she was more genuine than Soft. This perception was arguably supported by their respective "free the princess" routes: in Prisoner the two of you have to work together to get out of the cabin, in Damsel you kind of just have to ignore your impulse to question things and rush out the door (I'm oversimplifying a bit, I know, bear with me). Between the Deconstructed Damsel ending, Shifty's description of her, and the overall more comedic tone of the route, the game sort of implied whatever relationship you have with Damsel (and by extension the Soft princess) isn't built on anything substantive.

However, I think the additions in the Pristine Cut help to challenge this. First, by expanding the Damsel route with Happily Ever After. In the leadup to Happily Ever After we see Damsel express discomfort with your suggestion to stay (though she'll still agree to it). This is a little thing, but it does help to show that she's still her own person with her own desires (which was a thing pre-pristine cut as well, this just makes it more explicit). HEA itself also helps to flesh out Damsel, and shows that her care for the player is genuine (even if your relationship in the route itself has gone downhill).

PATD also added a detail which completely recontextualized the "Harsh/Soft" Princess: namely, that the Princess can hear if you pick up the knife. Where before it was suggested that the Princess' behavior changed based on the blade because of the player's perception (if you take the blade you see her as a threat & vice versa), now instead it seems that her behavior changes depending on if she knows you're armed.

While you could still argue that the "soft" persona is a facade, I think this change highlights that the "harsh" princess is one as well. If Soft is "acting" sweet to prove that she's harmless and convince you to let her go, Harsh is trying to show that she's dangerous to discourage you from killing her. Her dialogue when convincing you to drop the knife emphasizes this (paraphrasing): "I'm probably locked down here for a reason, right? Best not to risk finding out what I can do." This isn't to say that either version of the Princess isn't "real" or that she "doesn't have a personality" - I think both versions are being genuine, they're just also unsure if they can trust you.

This change also made reuniting with the Heart Princess at the end of the game even more meaningful for me - it's the first time the two of you can speak openly with one another on equal terms.

I always see people depict Wolfgang as a white sheep in their fanart, which makes sense considering that's his animal motif. But Wolfgang's colour palate is consistently dark, from his black hair to his black suit to his purple tie and purple eyes, you get it. And I feel like that was very much intentional (or not and i'm just reaching that's possible too lol), because rather than a white sheep, it gives me the impression that he's supposed to resemble a black sheep instead.

I mean, it makes sense, doesn't it? A black sheep is usually representative of being "unlike others". And he absolutely is-- he's the clearest outlier in the group. He's the only one within the group to have two animal motifs; the wolf and the sheep. He's the only one whose "what am I?" deviates from the set "a" pattern the others follow in imitation art book. He's the oldest guy, the tallest one. His last words are "I'll never be like you". What he is was simply defined as "not like you", very much what the black sheep symbolises. But black sheep also represent outcasts, which provides an irony to his role as the de facto leader and undeniably the most beloved member of the group for the majority of the game.

However, while Wolfgang isn't an outcast in the group, he does seem quite alienated from his family. From his hallucinations, we can gather that he seems to strive to be like someone else-- to be his mum-- which implies to me that who he is at his core is something he's ashamed of, and he molds his identity to resemble what he deems admirable, something acceptable. And his dad, while they are identical in appearance, is someone he tries to separate from himself entirely. Again, bringing back the theme of being "different" from the others around him.

He's a black sheep, and it ties back to him being a wolf in sheep's clothing as well. Everyone else's motifs are a representation of what they are, but his motifs are inherently contradictory and deceitful as they imply that the animal he's represented by is NOT what he actually is. He's a wolf ashamed of his nature, disguising himself with wool and adapting his behaviour to fit in with the flock without being perceived as a threat. He's a natural predator striving to be a sheep, something harmless, something associated with innocence-- and in the end you could argue he achieves just that, dying as the sacrificial lamb. Something like that, I guess.

Anyways, lately I have been participating in events and projects, and in these events and projects, unfortunately it's become clear to me that my presence and name have only been used to attract the attention of my national and international community with the objective, as I see it, of generating more attention towards controversies - destructive controversies, and a rupture that is very clear in the community, and this is what I want to say: I'm NOT ok with these types of dynamics or stuff like this, and I want to make it very clear to my stream, my community, and everyone that, for this exact reason that I just mentioned, I want to make it clear that I want to distance myself and any of my projects from the Esland Awards, which you all know is coming up.

Sadly, the Esland Awards have been an event with a history of much controversy, a lot of division, and a lot of divisions within the community, and as you guys know, as you know, my content has never been characterized by seeking controversy or divisions or anything like that. It's for this exact reason that I don't want to be involved with these awards.

In advance, I ask the organizers of any type of events and projects like this to please show more respect to me and my community, because I've shown lots of sympathy and cooperation in these various projects and events, but it's become clear to me that their only interest is in using my name.
