Hi! I was wondering how you draw people’s faces & bodies (specifically babe but thats just cuz I like him :3), I kinda struggle with the proportions of stuff relative to each other, and your art always looks so good! Both like, the style, but also getting them to look consistent. (Also it is in fact me who asked about copying your art again, hi :D) Love your stuff man 🫶
hi anon!!! my art is pretty stylized, and im not the best at explaining but ill briefly explain my process to u!!
this is a p long one so
okay! so!
here are the babes i quickly scribbled up

usually the very first thing i establish is the face shape! i usually do a very vague oval that extends from a circle (generally the eyes are around/ slightly above where the circle crosses the overall oval shape.) depending on who u wanna draw, the oval can be long or roughly square,,, treat it like a playdoh in which u can mold it
* generally i keep the eyes where the ears are, and realistically the tip of the ears is where the eyebrows end but i always break this rule LOLOLOL
THEN i try to figure out the key features of the face: the eyebrows, the nose shape, the eye shape and if there are any other visible feature like deep smile lines or moles
* i draw the mouth around where the bend of the jaw is, and eyebrows are around the same length of the eye (sometimes slightly longer and it ends bending w/ the eye shape). make space for the gap between the nose and the mouth, and the chin
try not to line out every detail cuz it'll look. off??? treat ur lines like shapes and shadows. the eyes are semi circles and the lines of the nose are shadows and stuff like that,, its really about simplifying what u see
style is also what u wanna emphasize. i emphasize their eyes and ears (?) to be bigger and to stick out more. i also shrink necks to emphasize their heads. i also make hair messier and in a sense,, bigger,, than they usually would be.
its all about playing with proportion until whatever looks right to u 🤑

ON TO THE BODY PART!
firstly when it comes to proportion i really recommend practicing figure sketching 🧘🧘 it was super helpful for me when i was still figuring out how to draw anatomy and stuff
i was also gifted this book called bridgman's life drawing WHICH IS SOOO helpful and interesting! not saying u have to buy it, cuz there's plenty free resources to help u like youtube tutorials

again its all about breaking the body down into bendable shapes and depending on ur style how long these shapes are
and then getting familiar with how it bends and where each part ends in comparison to the rest of the body.
i always start from the head, then the upper torso to get a grasp of how i want to draw a figure's body!
i tend to draw really long limbs, but to keep it looking anatomically accurate enough that it doesnt rlly look "off" i generally keep to these rules
>split the arm into two equal parts at the elbow
>split the legs at the knee, where the thigh + knee is equal with the foreleg (??? the yellow part in the image below) (but i break this rule alot LOLOLOL so. as long as it looks okay)
>the torso length generally varies but imagine it as 3 shapes strung on a string. the middle shape is the smallest and acts as the "knee" of the torso,,
once u get a sense of how the body works shape-wise, u can go silly with the poses (first with reference, then when ur confident enough try without, just to build confidence)

i connect the shapes that dont bend and where many lines connect with a strong line
its important to not treat every line or shape u lay down as the final line. ITS SO EASY TO FORGET THIS!!! u can always erase or redraw or repaint until u get the character right
and then draw everything over and over and over again
thats how u build consistency HAHA
OF COURSE every body is different so mold the shapes to whatever ud like.
++ the key to the confidence in ur figures and posing (dynamic or not) is all about control
and u can really only get that thru experience and practicing and experimenting 🤑🤑
im not a pro (yet) so this is all just from someone who draws too much for my own good.

Lost Light crew reacting to a mech (reader) having a flashback, assuming said mech did not previously disclose that they’ve been abused by their conjunx in the past? I know it’s a bit angst-y but my traumatized ass would love it if you wrote on this
//im not usually comfortable with like,,, abuse-centered stuff bc i think it is a pretty far reaching thing that doesnt even primarily take the form of violence and just feels like a 'mundanity' that seeps into all aspects of life (which is hard to portray in little snippets tbh) but this idea was just calling to me for some reason; btw only did a few bc these are long and id rather explore this in a reader-central fic than in headcanons//
rodimus
when your ex captain’s ship crosses paths with the lost light, he really doesn’t think anything of it. his crew sees horrible old acquaintances all the time in their journey. it’s only until later that rodimus thinks this time is different. youre not filling him in on what's wrong and continue to brush aside his worry, but your old captain is already making their way on board to greet him and rodimus has to play polite. your old captain seems like a decent guy, and he's clearly admired by his crew. sometimes personal issues turn sour, so, although he doesnt like that tense, twisted look on your face and the way your optics focus on the boarding dock with an intensity he's never seen, rodimus believes it should be fine for now.
he pesters you later to know what's wrong, cause he's a nosy sort of friend, and when he finds out(whether from you or someone in the know), Rodimus insists that the crew has to slaughter this guy. Magnus has to step in to stop rodimus from starting a fight.
even afterwards, you continue to insist that what happened was in the past and not that big enough of a deal to do anything. he feels a nagging in his processor. that he should have done something, although he draws a blank when its not about punching someone or yelling them down.
tailgate
as someone more perceptive than he lets on, tailgate gets a feel that something is wrong when he asks you what it was like to be part of that other crew. you give some vague response and leave it at that, clearly very distracted by something, but he figures maybe you just don't like your old captain as a person. it seems a lot of higher up autobots tend to say one thing and do another, making them not all theyre cracked up to be.
he's not good with words so he just gets furious when he finds out your past. he’s ready to fight and also torment and also eviscerate. yeah maybe sometimes he bullies you or pranks you but that’s a privilege reserved for tailgate and tailgate specifically! an absolute bastard of maximum proportions. i’m not just talking about fist fighting he’s cooking up plans for murder.
in the end, tailgate doesn't exactly have the best way of comforting you. he's never dealt with this sort of thing and telling you that he'll keep you safe seems to fall flat when he actually voices it.
chromedome
you two aren't particularly close before this, so chromedome is much too focused on his day-to-day tasks to bother with a visiting crew they can exchange supplies/maps with. that is until rewind gives him the scoop about what seems to have gone down on the bridge today regarding rodimus and the other captain. chromedome is really only half listening, rodimus is known to get pretty violently jealous, until rewind gets to the part about your old captain potentially being 'rough' with his crewmates.
he knows a thing or two about shitty exes. he figures your situation is much different from his own until you confirm that you did, in fact, date your old captain. you two are more alike than he realized. it's hard to be around someone you trusted after they took advantage of you, using their proximity to hurt you, but it seems unlike him you can't shake your ex. whereas chromedome can just leave cybertron to escape, your ex is in a position where he can keep tabs on you and it's not exactly weird. he finds himself much more protective of you, especially if magnus and megatron don't let the lost light beat up your ex.
he'll just have to make up for that on his own time.

heck!!!! u and me are on the same boat anon ive been starting 2 try n find ways 2 switch up my style too yikes
i think i answered an ask similar 2 this at some point in time but i am going 2 reorganise it into a nice list or else thisll bcome a huge cluster of text
keep drawing regardless of how much u like/dislike what ur hand does trust me u will hit a point where u think “hey…this doesnt look……that horrible…”
looking @ other artists’ stuff 4 inspo is gr8! try 2 identify what u like about their style. if ur gonna try and redraw stuff though pls dont post that w/o permission since not all artists like others 2 redraw their works
but if looking at other artists’ stuff makes u not want 2 draw bc u feel like u suck then DONT!!! DO THAT!!!! sometimes ur imagination is all that u need dont feel pressured 2 have to take inspiration from others
observational drawings are always great 4 practising proportions and anatomy! some ppl can jump right in2 stylistic stuff but i find that getting a basic grasp on a persons face first can rlly help u 2 play around and exaggerate emotions later on
so that failed thats still long and u know what im not rlly able 2 give real good art advice but these r just things ive done over the yrs!! u GOT this anon
