Chapter Three
╚══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╝
"Hyejiiii you gotta be kidding me!? You're not coming?" you whined as you called Hyeji since you wanted to ask them to hang out at this recently opened amusement park and to also celebrate the fact that you made it through 8th grade without anyone failing any subjects.
"I mean, I'm coming but I can't hang out with you guys.. I kind of enrolled in this dance group and luckily got in. They asked if I wanted to go with them and I said yes.." Hyeji explained and you pouted. Hyeji won't be able to come, Haeun is on a vacation abroad and Bada is a bit busy since she's also training to be a dancer.
"Oh okay.. And congratulations by the way! I'll need your autograph when I see you so I can say to people that I got your autograph first before you got famous." you joked and you could hear Hyeji laugh. You miss your friends but then again, all of you are quite busy. Bada and Hyeji are training to be dancers, Haeun is enjoying her vacation and doing some modelling on the side while you're being enrolled in several acting classes not because your mom forced you to do it but because you really want to be an actress yourself like her.
"You're crazy.. See you whenever, bub. Gotta go!" and the call ended. You plopped down on your bed, thinking of who to invite. Well the only one left is Bada. Though you're hesitating if you should call her considering she's on the same path as Hyeji and you'd be extremely sad if she declines as well. Before you could even call her, Bada decided to barge inside your room, completely unannounced and plopping down next to you on the bed.
"Jesus! You scared me!" you complained and smacked her with a pillow and she laughed, ruffling your hair.
"Go get dressed! We're going to that amusement park since I don't have any dance classes today. Hurry or I'm dragging your ass." she says and you immediately get up, getting ready and soon you were racing with Bada to the car.
"Heyyy you didn't return that shirt to me. You have had that since your first day." Bada says as she noticed that you're wearing the shirt she lent you on your first day being transferred to her school.
"It's mine now even though it clearly says Lee 22 at the back." you laughed and made sure your seatbelt was on before your driver began driving to the amusement park.
"Can we go to the rollercoaster please? I've never been on one and I wanna try it so bad!" you asked Bada and she really wanted to say no because you might throw up but the way you looked so cute, eyes twinkling with much excitement had her caving in. How could she ever say no to your adorable face? How could she ever say no to you?
You spent the whole afternoon with Bada, trying on rides and games at the amusement park. You only stopped when it was around 7 in the evening and you're both getting hungry. After getting lost for quite some time, you finally got to the restaurant inside the park and shared a meal together. Bada knew it's just a casual hangout for you but deep in her heart, she wants to believe this is your first date together. She had realized months ago that she is in fact, falling in love with you but she didn't want to lose you and the bond she had created with you so she kept her feelings hidden.
"Badaaaa I really wanted that dog stuffed toy from that ring toss game.. But my aim is bad. And the stuffed toy is way too cute!" you rambled your little problem to her and she couldn't help but chuckle at how adorable you are.
"I'll get it for you but you have to ride the Ferris wheel with me right after. Deal?" she held out her hand towards you and you shook it without hesitation because you really wanted that stuffed toy.
Right after you destroyed the order of corn dogs, boneless chicken wings and some fries with Bada, you immediately dragged her to the ring toss booth where you saw the stuffed toy that you wanted and she immediately got to work. She failed a few times but she's not stopping until she gets that stuffed toy for you. And when she did, you were overjoyed that you weren't really thinking properly. You just turned to Bada, cup her cheeks and just kiss her. Not on the cheeks, but on the lips. You just kissed your best friend on the lips. You just kissed Bada on the lips.
"Shit, shit, shit.. I'm so sorry.. I didn't mean to do that. I was just--" you were rambling apologies to Bada while she just stood there, seemingly in a daze as she's still trying to process the fact that she just had her first kiss. That you just stole her first kiss. She would've freaked out if it was someone else who did that but she felt like she's on cloud nine because it's you who did that. It felt like she could pass away happily knowing that you kissed her. That her crush kissed her.
"No, no it's okay Y/N.. Don't sweat it out. It's all good, we're good." Bada reassured you when you looked like you were about to cry because of that kissing incident. She took you to the ferris wheel but you guys didn't talk about what just happened. Bada wanted to ease your mind so she didn't address it, waiting for you to talk about it if you wanted. You're internally freaking out yourself. You just kissed Bada and it was your first kiss.
"Look, I'm really sorry about earlier.. I really am." you finally spoke as you're both on the ferris wheel and she gives you a smile and a gentle squeeze on the hand.
"It's okay, Y/N. I swear. It's all good, no big deal. Plus, I'll gladly audition as your kiss partner while you're training to be an actress like your mom. You just gotta give me food and tutor me in return." Bada jokes and you finally crack up, laughing at the idea of you practicing a kissing scene with her then paying her with food afterwards. It's ridiculous but deep down, you wanted it just as bad as she does. The way her lips felt against yours is just perfect. It felt right like it was made to be.
"I'll have to think about it but keep your lines open." you told her in a playful manner and she just pinched your cheek, telling you as if you'd get roles with kissing scenes considering you're still a minor and that your dad will kill people if you get that kind of scene.
That night was memorable and it's what brings you comfort, especially when both you and Bada got busy. With you doing workshops for acting and Bada doing dance classes. You barely hang out anymore but would still text along with Hyeji and Haeun. You couldn't wait for the next school year to start so you could be with your friends again, so you could be with Bada again because you're missing her presence. You're missing her deeply.
Bada wanted to just leave her dance classes and go to your house, hang out with you and just be with you but ever since the kissing incident happened, she decided to distance herself a little bit just to regain control over her feelings. She didn't want you to think that she only befriended you because she wanted to date you. She doesn't want you to think that she's using her friendship with you as a leverage for you to love her. It pains her to be away from you for too long but she's got to do it. She's falling dangerously fast for you and she doesn't want you to avoid her if ever you find out about the feelings she's kept locked away. She values your friendship more than anything else, more than her feelings.
Bada: I'm sorry, Y/N but I don't know how I'll ever deal with losing you if you find out I'm so in love with you.. Maybe someday I'll find the courage to tell you all of this but for now, I'll just love you in secret..
Bada typed on her phone, just saving it on her drafts for now since she hasn't found the courage to confess to you yet. She's just hoping that when the day comes that she confesses to you, you're still available by then so she can shower you with all the love she has to give, she can show you how much she cares and cherishes you.

{Akari showing photos of herself along with Mile and Nayaka and few other UFG members, one picture stands out to Leo who decides to poke fun at her.]
Leo, points at a teenage boy: Who's that? your boyfriend?
Akari, looks grossed: Ew, no! that's your grandson, dude! I used to change his diapers!
Leo, blinks:............My w-what?
{Akari gets an oh crap look on her face, when she realizes Leo didn't know about Mile's son.]
Akari: Okay, I just remembered I have this thing... to do... at this place, bye! *runs away*
Leo:
{Later]
Mile, singing under her breath: I don't want to set the world on fire....I just (Sees Leo sitting in her living room) Eek! *Ahem* Hey dad, everything okay?
Leo: Why didn't you tell me I had a grandson?
Mile: How did- *Leo holds up the photo of Akari and Mile's son* Oh.
Leo: I supposed your married then, what's he like does he treat you well?
Mile: I'm not married, dad. And the boy's not actually related to you I adopted him. of course calling him a boy a bit of a stretch since Kouki's a grown adult now with a child of his own.
Leo: I'm great-grandfather?!
{Mile pretty sums it up for him, when she was still part of the UFG's rescue unit she found a large house that was caved in she could already tell there were dead bodies in there, the smell gave it away... But what she wasn't expecting was the sound of baby crying.
Mile was in a panic as she dug into the rubble before finding a small niche where the body of a woman lay her bottom half was crushed under the rubble, but a few inches away; just out of her outstretched arms reach was baby boy covered in dust and scrapes, Mile carefully picked up the baby up and got him to the medics but a few days later she couldn't get the kid out of her head she checked in on him and found his entire family was wiped out.]
Leo: The whole family?
Mile: Yeah, it was some kind of family event and that's why they all there in one place, and then I took Kouki home.
Mile: Nayaka was soo against it. She said "Milene, we hardly know how to look after ourselves, what makes you think that you can take care of a baby?!" we didn't talk to each other for a while after that, we both used Akari to spy on each other, until she got sick of it and told us to to grow a pair and sort our own crap out..And we did.
*Points at a photo of Kouki's elementary school graduation with Nayaka and Commander Sato in attendance with Mile.*
Mile: Then a few years down the line he met a girl and got her pregnant before he finished high school... That's where your great-granddaughter Kairi came from. Kouki's raising her by himself, I won't talk about her mother, that woman is undeserving of the title. But Kairi is the sweetest little girl, She's only 3 and like to draw dinosaurs as astronauts. She says she wants to join the UFG when she's older though I'm not holding my breath, a kid's mind can change after all.
Leo: Why haven't I met them yet?
Mile: They're on vacation right now, but are due back tomorrow.
{The next morning Mile and an anxious Gen waited at the airport for Kouki and Kairi to arrive, Mile nudge her dad when she spotted her son and granddaughter among the crowd disembarking passengers. Kairi was the first to spot her grandma and ran into her arms as Kouki told her to slow down. Mile greeted them both, then Kairi noticed Gen standing off to the side.]
Kairi, points at Gen: Who dis?
Mile: This is Gen Otori, my dad. your grandfather.
{Gen nervously greeted his grandson and granddaughter and needless to say. they both took a shine to him very quickly, Kairi in particular became very a attached to grandpa lee whenever Leo visited Earth she always had something to show or give him pictures she drew which he proudly hangs in his room back home.]
_meanwhile_
Zoffy: You don't have any secret children I should know about, do you?
Nayaka: I'm too busy for kids...But, wait and see maybe someday.
Zoffy: Right. someday.
{Someday came in the form of a steamy "I'm so happy you're alive!" moment between Nayaka and Zero and a few months after that Alto was born.]

{Mile is short for Milene}

Colder in the Summertime
Paranormal Preteens AU: Episode Nine
A JSE Fanfic
There’s not a lot of the supernatural in this part, but it’s important anyway. Oh boy. It’s very important. The boys have a meeting about what they should do before summer vacation ends. Afterwards, Chase’s mom sits him down and explains exactly why Schneep is staying with them. And, uh, the reason isn’t a happy one. I’ll leave you to your reading from there. Fun fact, the title for this part is a lyric from a song that I listened to over and over while writing it. Bonus points to anyone who gets it :)
++++++++++++++++++++
It was no longer the height of summer, but Zelly’s Soda and Ice Cream was still pretty busy. The whole gang—Chase, Schneep, Jackie, and the twins—had claimed a table near the back of the restaurant. It was a bit emptier back here, but there were still plenty of people nearby. Hopefully they were all busy with their own stuff and weren’t listening in on the five’s conversation.
“So did you end up getting a job here, Jackie?” Marvin asked. “They don’t have that sign in the window anymore.”
“Yep,” Jackie said. “Sylvester did, too. Both of us are part-time.”
“Are they gonna make you start working soon? Do we have to hurry through talking?”
Jackie laughed. “No, that’s not how jobs work. They don’t make you do stuff whenever they see you, they make a schedule for you to follow. Like school. I don’t have a shift today.”
“That’s so cool!” Chase gasped. “I’d love to work somewhere with food. Do you get free ice cream?”
“I get a discount, yeah,” Jackie said. “That’s how I was able to buy this.” He indicated the basket of cheesy fries on the table. “And how I’m going to be able to buy all the stuff you guys order. Do you think it’s a good idea to have all that sugar?”
What are you, our mom? JJ asked. Marvin laughed.
“No, but I don’t want to hear from your moms about you guys having a sugar rush,” Jackie said. “Anyway. School’s starting soon.”
Chase groaned loudly. Ah, yes. School was only a couple weeks away. Summer was going to end. And when that happened, everything would change. Schneep would go back to Germany, Jackie would be in a different year with more homework, and it would become a lot harder to hang out with Marvin and Jameson without kids in his school making fun of him for being friends with weirdos. Even if the twins were fun, nice weirdos. Kids didn’t care if you were fun or nice, just if you were different.
“Not very excited, I see,” Jackie muttered, looking around the table. In addition to Chase’s groan, Jameson made a face, Schneep had gone pale, and Marvin leaned back in his chair and stared up at the ceiling with an expression of vague but certain doom.
“School fucking sucks!” Marvin shouted.
“Don’t be so loud,” Schneep said, glancing around. Several people had looked at their table.
“I was being loud?” Marvin asked, confused. He looked at JJ. “Was I being loud?” JJ shrugged. “Well. I was loud because school really fucking sucks. It’s noisy and boring and crowded and shitty.”
“I don’t wanna do exams,” Chase muttered. “I hate exams.”
It’s the pressure, JJ agreed. They’re timed, and worth so much of your grade, too.
“I think exams are fine,” Schneep said quietly, a bit shy to go against the others. “Once they are done, they are done. It is the studying at home that is...bad.”
“What’re you worried about? You’re, like, a genius,” Chase said jokingly.
Schneep looked at him, then quickly looked away, saying nothing.
“Back to my point,” Jackie said. “When school starts, we’re all gonna be busy. It’ll be harder to get free time to investigate the weird stuff around town. So, before that happens, we need to handle the biggest weird thing we can find. The one that’ll take a lot of time and planning. And I have an idea what. Do you remember that giant dog that broke into Chase’s house?”
“No, I forgot about that,” Chase said sarcastically.
Jackie smiled a bit. “Well, I think we need to find that and take care of it.”
Take care of it how? Jameson asked.
“I don’t know. We need to figure that out.”
“Are we gonna kill a dog?” Marvin gasped. “I don’t wanna kill a dog!”
“You are still a bit loud,” Schneep pointed out, glancing around uneasily.
“We don’t have to go that far,” Jackie hurriedly said. “Not if we don’t have to. Just...get it out of town.”
Marvin let out a breath of relief.
When does school start, again? Jameson asked. I’m asking so we know our deadline.
“The fifteenth,” Chase said. “Mom’s made sure I know.”
“That’s my birthday,” Schneep mumbled.
Your birthday’s coming up? Jameson said, surprised. It starts on the first day of school?
Schneep nodded.
JJ grinned. Happy birthday! How old are you going to be?
“Twelve.”
“That’s so cool,” Marvin added. “I mean, it kind of sucks that it’s on the first school day, because then you can’t have a party actually on your birthday. We’ll have to have one the Saturday before or something. Ooo, what do you want? I bet JJ can convince our parents to buy you a good present. They might want you to buy us a good present in return, though. Which sucks because then it’s not really a present if you’re getting something for it. Besides our birthday is on Halloween and that’s like two months away, so who really wants to already be roped into—”
“No way,” Chase interrupted. “Your birthday is not on Halloween.”
“It fucking is,” Marvin said. “That’s how come I have such strong magic, because I was born on the witches’ new year.”
“No, I don’t believe you. That’s like having your birthday on Christmas.”
“People have their birthdays on Christmas all the time!”
Chase, that is ACTUALLY our birthday, JJ jumped in. I know what you’re thinking, but I promise you, we were born on October 31st.
“Really?” Chase stared at him, still a bit doubtful. Jameson would easily back up one of Marvin’s... witch things. But he looked sincere. “Huh. That’s funny.”
“We’ll all get everyone presents for their birthdays when they come up,” Jackie said. “But right now, we need to focus.”
“How are we supposed to take care of the big dog?” Schneep asked quietly. “It is...big. And we have no clue where it is.”
“I was looking around for that, actually,” Jackie said. “There’s been a lot of sightings of wolves and wild animals in the neighborhoods. A few attacks. Nobody’s been killed, thank god, but there have been injuries. Oh, hang on.” He reached into his hoodie pocket and pulled out a street map of Hollewych, which had probably been taken from his car. “I’ve made X marks where there’s been a sighting reported in the newspapers. They’re all concentrated over here.” He circled the area with the most Xs.
“That’s my neighborhood,” Chase said, a bit worried. “I guess that makes sense why it showed up at my house, then. Do you think it’ll show up again?”
Jackie hesitated. “Probably not,” he said slowly. “I, uh...haven’t seen any repeated sightings in the news. So I don’t think it’ll be in the same place twice.”
“Like lightning,” Marvin said.
Chase glanced at Schneep, expecting him to say something about how lightning does actually strike the same place twice. But Schneep was quiet.
So how do we track it down? JJ asked. Should we stake out the neighborhood?
“Well, I noticed something,” Jackie said. “These are the older sightings, and these are the newer ones. Do you see how they’re sort of drifting that way? To the east?”
Towards the inside of the city, JJ agreed. So we can figure out where it might be next because it’s going east?
“But what do we do when we see it?” Chase asked.
“Hmm.” Marvin hummed. “Maybe there’s some way to turn it back into a normal dog.”
“How do you know it used to be a normal dog?” Chase folded his arms. “Maybe it’s always been a big monster dog.”
“Well, I don’t know. But listen. I was thinking about how my crystal collection helped protect us from the mushrooms. I was wondering if we could somehow use that. Like, maybe if we threw a big crystal at the dog, and it stayed near it for long enough, the crystal would...push the evil monster-y bits out of it.”
“That’s a good idea,” Jackie said. “But we should come up with something else, too, just in case.”
A moment of silence passed. Chase expected Schneep to say something, to come up with some sort of idea. But he just sat there.
The dog was hungry when it broke into Chase’s house, JJ finally said. Maybe it’s out walking around looking for food. Maybe we can lure it out of the city with some sort of bait.
“Like dog food?” Chase asked.
“Maybe if we get meat or something,” Jackie speculated. “Like a steak. Dogs like human food more than dog food, I hear. I think I could get something like that.”
“Okay.” Marvin nodded. “Okay, so I have an idea. We get some meat of some kind, and drive around looking for the monster dog. When we find it, we put the meat on the ground. The dog goes to eat it, and that’s when we try the crystal thing. If that doesn’t work, then we get into Jackie’s car and hang more meat out the window so the dog can see and smell it. Then we drive out of town, and it follows us, leaving forever.”
“Thanks for volunteering my car,” Jackie muttered.
“Well it’s probably really fast, huh? Because it’s so big,” Marvin said. “We can’t outrun normal-sized dogs on our bikes, so we need a car.”
“No, I get it, I just...I’m going to need to come up with some explanation for my dad.” Jackie sighed. “You know this might take a while, right? We could be driving around every night until school starts.”
“Not night,” Chase said. “Mom’s gonna crack down on bedtime, soon.” Which was totally unfair. School didn’t start for weeks, why did he have to start going to bed earlier now? Especially when it was still really light outside at the time when Mom said he should go to sleep.
“Yeah, our mam and dad are gonna do that, too,” Marvin said. JJ nodded in agreement, looking unhappy.
“Well, the animal sightings usually happen later,” Jackie said. “But maybe we could do it in the evenings. After dinner or something. Heh. It’s a good thing it doesn’t get dark early like in winter.”
“What are we supposed to tell our... guardians?” Schneep asked awkwardly.
Jackie sighed. “I don’t know. I guess you’ll all have to come up with that for your own parents. If it helps, you can say I’ll be there to watch you guys.”
The table went silent for a little bit. Chase thought about what he could tell his mom. Maybe he could say that he was trying to get as much “outdoor time” as possible before school started, trapping him indoors. She would like that. It made her happy to see him active.
“Oh hey Chase, look,” Marvin said, pointing. “It’s that girl you hate.”
Chase stiffened. “Don’t point,” he hissed, ducking behind the napkin holder.
Indeed, Heather Westing was sitting at a table in Zelly’s. It was halfway across the restaurant, but still within easy eyeshot. She was there with a woman who was probably her mom, and one of her sidekicks: Curly Hair. Weirdly, her other sidekick, Pink Glasses, was nowhere to be seen. Chase watched her for a few seconds, then decided she hadn’t noticed them and relaxed a little. “Just ignore her,” he said slowly.
Marvin shrugged. “Sure.”
Also I see our ice cream, JJ added, pointing at a waiter carrying a tray with five cups of ice cream.
“Don’t point at him, either,” Chase said. “Don’t point at anyone. It just draws attention to you, and we’re trying to be discerned.”
Jackie chuckled. “Do you mean discreet?”
Chase blinked. “Uh. Yeah. That.”
“Discreet,” Schneep repeated idly, trying out the word. Chase looked at him, waiting for him to ask what it meant. But...nothing.
The waiter arrived, dropping off their ice cream and chatting with Jackie a little bit. The group dug into their ice cream, but as they did, Chase watched Schneep. Paying close attention to him.
++++++++++++++++++++
Schneep had been acting weird ever since they’d gotten back from the camping trip, a bit over a week ago. Quiet, mostly. Over the summer, Schneep had relaxed a little around Chase. The two of them talked a lot, went on walks, and Schneep found he liked some of Chase’s favorite TV shows. But now it was back to how he acted at the start. He barely spoke, and spent almost all of his time in his room. Even though the door still stayed open, he wouldn’t respond much when Chase stopped outside and looked in. One word replies at most.
Chase was worried. Was Schneep mad at him? Did he think he’d ruined the camping trip by bringing the mushrooms? The rest of the trip had been fun, but Chase knew that fighting magical fungus had been... not ideal.
He didn’t know how to talk to Schneep about it. The most he figured out was asking Schneep how he was feeling, if he was alright, and Schneep’s responses were short every time. Chase knew he needed help to figure out what to do after that. So he went to the person he could depend on for help with this feelings stuff.
“Mom?” Chase slowly opened the door to his mom’s bedroom. “Are you, uh...doing work stuff?”
Mom’s bedroom was a bit more crowded now that all the office stuff had been moved there to make way for Schneep’s room, but it was still bigger than Chase’s. And more boring, too. The walls were painted a pale gray, completely undecorated except for a single painting Mom had done at some work “retreat” a couple years ago. Bookshelves lined one wall, full of big chapter books with tiny print, and a long, low dresser sat against the opposite wall. The office stuff was shoved into the back corner, while the big bed was by the wall with the window. There used to be a TV in here, but Chase’s dad had taken that when he moved out.
“No, I’m not busy right now,” Mom said. She was lying in bed with a book, but sat up when Chase opened the door. “What is it?”
“I, uh... can I ask you something?” Chase stepped fully into the room.
“Of course, sweets.” Mom slid a bookmark into her book and put it down on the mattress. “Anything.”
“How, uh...how do you know if someone is... upset? With you? Without him, uh...telling you?”
“Well, it depends on the person, but there are some signs,” Mom said. “Usually they don’t want to see you, or try to avoid you. Maybe they make passive-aggressive comments—you know, the ones that sound mean but aren’t shouting or anything, just a weird, rude tone. Sometimes they seem cold, or snippy. Do you think someone’s upset with you, Chase?”
“Well, uh...” Chase closed the door to Mom’s room and leaned against it. “I think Sch—Henrik’s been a little...I don’t know. He’s not talking to me. And I think I might’ve done something wrong.”
“Oh, Chase.” Mom sighed. “It’s possible that he’s upset with you, but it’s more possible that he’s not. Henrik... has his own problems. I think those might be bothering him.”
“Oh.” Chase paused. “Is he sad that he’s almost going home?”
Mom stared at him. “What?”
“What?” Chase was confused by his mom’s confusion.
“What do you mean, ‘he’s almost going home’?” Mom asked.
“At the end of the summer,” Chase said. “He has to go back to Germany. You always say that you can’t be on vacation forever.”
“Chase, Henrik isn’t on vacation,” Mom said. “He’s staying with us for more than the summer.”
“Oh.” Chase paused. “So...did his parents, like, sign him up for an exchange program at school? That’s a thing, right? Where a kid spends a year at a school in another country?”
“Chase.” Mom was stunned, and possibly a little disappointed. “Henrik isn’t just staying with us for a little bit. He lives with us now.”
“...huh?” That only made Chase more confused. “But I thought...”
“If he was only staying for a little bit, I would’ve made him sleep in your room, instead of giving him a room of his own,” Mom said. “Why do you think I bought him a whole bunch of clothes, including a uniform for school?”
“You didn’t say he was living with us forever,” Chase emphasized.
“I thought I did.” Mom sighed. “Maybe you weren’t listening. It was in May. You were... adjusting.”
Chase stood there for a moment. He didn’t mind that Schneep was going to be living with them. Well, maybe he minded a little bit. But that was mostly because he was upset with himself for not realizing that, and preparing his brain for that fact. Still, it didn’t make sense to him. “What about Uncle Albrecht and Aunt Maggie? Don’t they want him to go back?” He gasped. “Did something happen to them?!”
“No, nothing happened to them. They—” Mom shook her head and sighed. She stared at Chase, eyes scanning him. Chase had seen that look a couple times. She was trying to decide if he was old enough to hear something grown-up. Last time she’d given him that look was when he asked where babies came from. Now? There was something different about it. Still serious, but a different type of serious. “Chase, come sit down,” she finally said.
“...Okay.” Chase walked over and hopped onto the edge of Mom’s bed. It was taller than his, and his feet dangled a couple inches off the ground. Of course, Mom, sitting next to him, didn’t have that problem.
Mom was quiet for a moment. “Chase.” When she spoke, her voice was just as serious as her look had been. “Henrik’s parents aren’t allowed to take care of him anymore.”
“What?” Chase blinked. “I don’t get it. How can you not be allowed to take care of your kid?”
“Well.” Mom paused. “A parent’s job is to...parent their kid. Some people are really good at that, and some people aren’t. When a mom, or a dad, or both, are so bad at parenting that it ends up... ends up hurting their kid, either by accident or...not, then...then there are people who step in and say they can’t do it anymore.”
“What people?”
“It’s part of the government. A lot of countries have an organization that takes care of kids, and makes sure that parents aren’t...you know. Doing bad things. America has one, and the UK has one, and Germany has one.” Mom took a deep breath. “See, what happened was that the organization in Germany found out that Henrik’s parents were... they were being really mean to him. And he was suffering because of it. So they wanted Henrik to go live with relatives, but he doesn’t have any in Germany, so they contacted the organization here, and those guys contacted me. They told me what happened, and asked if I wanted Henrik to stay with us. And I said yes.”
Chase didn’t say anything. He looked down at his legs, hanging off the side of the bed, his heels gently hitting the bedframe. “So... is... Did Henrik want to stay here, too?”
“I think he was having a little trouble,” Mom said quietly. “It’s a whole different country, after all. But he didn’t want to live with Uncle Albrecht and Aunt Maggie anymore. He’s, um... he’s very sad. And scared. And a lot of other things. So, that might be why he’s not talking to you right now.”
“I...” Chase swallowed a sudden lump in his throat. “While we were on the camping trip, I said that he was going to leave at the end of summer. He asked me something like, ‘is that true,’ and I said it was, and he went kind of quiet. And he’s been kind of quiet since then.”
“Oh, sweets,” Mom whispered.
“I-I didn’t know that he was gonna be staying with us.” Chase tightened his hands into fists, bundling the cloth of his shorts together. “If I did, I wouldn’t have said that. Oh my god. He—he probably thinks we’re gonna send him back, a-and you said he didn’t want to be there anymore—”
“Chase, honey, calm down.” Mom wrapped an arm around his shoulder, pulling him close to her. “It was a mistake. You didn’t know. And if you tell Henrik that you’re sorry, and that it was a misunderstanding, I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
“H-how do I do that?” Chase asked quietly.
“It’s easy, don’t worry. You have to walk up to him and say you want to talk. You mention that thing that you said during the camping trip, and explain that you didn’t know he was going to stay with us. You tell him that you know now, and that you’re sorry that you upset him.”
“I say sorry even if it wasn’t on purpose?”
“Yes, you say sorry even if it wasn’t on purpose. Because it still made him sad, and if you don’t say sorry, it sounds like you don’t care about that.”
“But I do,” Chase said softly. “I didn’t want to upset him.”
“You tell him that, then.” Mom gave him a gentle smile. “Henrik is a smart boy. And he knows you well. He’ll understand. And if he doesn’t, come tell me, and I’ll help.”
Chase let out a long breath. “Okay.” He nodded. His eyes felt a little wet. “I-I’ll go do that right now.” He stood up from the bed, landing on the floor, but didn’t walk away.
“Go on,” Mom said encouragingly. “You can do it.”
“I can do it,” Chase repeated. He inhaled slowly. “Okay. I’m...gonna go do that.” Now he started walking to the door.”
“Good luck,” Mom said. “I’ll be here if you need anything.”
++++++++++++++++++++
Aunt Jess had told Schneep that there were snacks in one of the kitchen cabinets—one of the ones on the bottom—and that he was welcome to take one whenever he wanted. She said that he didn’t even need to ask, just tell her when they were getting low. But he still asked. Just in case the rules changed.
Today, though, he didn’t really want to talk to her. He hadn’t really wanted to talk to her or Chase at all recently. There wasn’t a point to it anymore. Not when he wasn’t going to see them again. So, when Schneep saw Chase go into his mom’s room, he crept down the stairs and went into the kitchen. He found the cabinet Aunt Jess had pointed out and opened it up, looking for something to eat. Ideally, something that wouldn’t leave crumbs. He was going to eat it in his room, and he didn’t want to clean that up.
He picked out a small packet of colorful candies labeled as Jelly Babies, then carefully closed the cabinet so it wouldn’t slam. And when he let out a little breath of relief, that’s when he heard the laughter behind him.
Schneep stiffened and spun around, hiding the candy behind his back. Standing in the middle of the kitchen, right under the ceiling light, was a shadowy figure. Despite the bright light shining down directly on it, the figure looked dark. Schneep felt his heart speed up. It was that same shadow that he’d seen in his room a few weeks ago. The same one Chase had seen in the library. Why was it here again?
“Hi, Henrik,” whispered a voice. A boy’s, maybe a teenager’s. “They’re talking about you.”
Schneep opened his mouth. But nothing came out. Not words, not a scream, nothing.
“Up there.” The shadow raised his hand, pointing at the ceiling. “They’re talking about you. They’re talking about how much of a scaredy-cat you are.”
Still nothing. Schneep’s muscles were locked in place. He glanced around without turning his head. The shadow blocked the entrance to the hallway, but the way to the dining room was open. If only he could make himself move.
“Are you scared?” The shadow asked. “Right now?” He paused, as if waiting for an answer. When Schneep stayed silent, he took a step forward. “What about now?” Still, Schneep couldn’t answer. So the shadow took another step. “Or now?”
He should run. Turn and sprint away before the shadow closed in on him. But he just couldn’t move.
“Your friends call you something else,” the shadow said. “Schneep. That’s a nickname, right? Can I call you that? You can call me something, too.” Something flickered in the shadow’s face. Teeth. White teeth, stretched in a smile right where the mouth would be, the only visible feature, stark against the darkness of the shadow. “Schneep, do you like games? I love games. Do you want to play together? All your friends can, too. So, do you?”
Schneep finally managed to do something. He took a step backwards.
“Are you scared now?” the shadow whispered. “Do you know what it’s like to be afraid?”
The terrible silence was broken by the sound of steps coming down the staircase. Light and fast—Chase, not Aunt Jess. The shadow turned and looked towards the noise. He tilted his head. While he was distracted, Schneep started to step to the side, trying to edge around the shadow.
“Schneep? Are you down here?” Chase called.
The shadow laughed. “Are you down here?” he repeated in a singsong voice.
Chase’s footsteps stopped. Then burst into a run. Chase himself appeared in the kitchen entrance. His eyes landed on the shadow, flicked towards Schneep, then went back to the shadow. “Get the heck out of here!” he shouted.
Again, the shadow giggled. And just like that, it vanished.
“Oh my god! Schneep, are you okay?!” Chase hurried over and started patting Schneep’s arms and torso as if checking for injuries.
“Mir geht—I-I am alright,” Schneep said shakily. “You do not need to touch me, I am not hurt.”
“Sorry.” Chase abruptly stopped, taking a step backwards. “Jeez, what does that shadow guy want?”
“He...said something about playing games,” Schneep said quietly. “And asked me if I was afraid.”
Chase paused. “Did you...say anything back?”
Schneep shook his head. He looked down at his hands. The plastic bag of candy had been scrunched under his tight grip.
“Okay. Okay. I mean, that was probably a good idea.” Chase put his hands in his pockets. He kicked the floor idly, socked feet slipping on the tiles. “Um... do you wanna... watch TV?”
“No thank you,” Schneep said. “I-I will just go back to my room.”
“Okay, but, um...” Chase seemed to be having trouble coming up with words. “I, uh... I-I want to talk to you about something. So, uh...do you wanna go sit on the couch? And talk?”
This was different. Schneep had never seen Chase so awkward, and he’d never heard that tone in his voice. After a moment, he nodded. “Okay.”
“Great! I mean, um, good.” Chase started walking backwards. “Let’s, uh...go, then.” He made sure that Schneep was following him before he turned around and walked forwards again.
They made their way to the living room and sat on the sofa the same way they always had: with Chase on the right and Schneep on the left. Only this time Chase wasn’t slumping against the back as he usually did. He was upright, at attention. That, more than anything, told Schneeep this was important. The silence in the room felt heavy. Waiting. Schneep put the packet of candy down on the coffee table and placed his hands in his lap, where they fiddled with the edge of his sweater. “What is it?” he asked quietly.
“I...um...” Chase was still struggling with words. “I didn’t know—I mean, I-I thought you were only visiting for the summer. But Mom told me just now that that was wrong. She also told me earlier, before you got here, but I guess I forgot. I, uh... I know now. That you’re staying with us for... like, forever. So... I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings, somehow, by saying that you were gonna go back home at the end of summer. I-I didn’t know. But I’m still sorry.”
Schneep stared at him. “Wait. So...I-I am staying? That didn’t change?”
“No. I mean yes! I mean—” Chase made a frustrated noise. “Yes, you’re staying. No, that didn’t change.”
“For how long?”
“For forever. Or, I guess, until you’re old enough to live on your own and decide to move out. But that’s the same with me, too. And anyone. When you grow up you move out. If you want to. Some people don’t. But, uh, yeah. Mom’s gonna... take care of you. A-and you’re gonna still live in your bedroom upstairs. And stuff.” Chase looked distinctly nervous now, and was talking to fill up space.
“...oh.” Schneep looked away from Chase, processing all this.
“I-if I made you think you weren’t staying, that’s my fault, cause I didn’t know,” Chase said, somewhat hurriedly. He waited for Schneep to say something else. But when that didn’t happen, he coughed and continued. “Are you... happy about that? About living here?”
“I...yes, I am,” Schneep said.
“You don’t... sound like it,” Chase said slowly.
“Well, there are other feelings, too.” Scheep paused, trying to figure out how to explain this. He took a deep breath. “Chase, do you remember the mushrooms on the camping trip? When they put everyone to sleep and gave them dreams? I was dreaming that... that I was living here. That I had always lived here. That Aunt Jess was my mom, and you were...” He trailed off. “I liked that dream. But... I felt... bad about it, too. I thought... I thought ‘I should be home. I should not like this dream, it is like... like I am traitoring Mama and Papa.’”
“Betraying?” Chase asked.
“Yes. That.”
Chase blinked. His nervousness had veered into anxiety. “Um... Mom told me... just now... that your parents weren’t... good at being parents.”
“I do not think they were,” Schneep muttered.
“She said they were mean.”
Schneep didn’t respond to that. He just squeezed the edge of his sweater tighter, making a small ball of the fabric.
“But I guess... you still gotta like your parents,” Chase said slowly. “You still spend a lot of time with them, and live with them, and eat with them. Sometimes I think Mom’s being really unfair, and I say I hate her, but I know I don’t. I guess that’s what it’s like for you, only... there are more unfair moments.”
Schneep looked back over at Chase. “Aunt Jess is really nice. You think you hate her sometimes?”
Chase shrugged. “I think all kids hate their parents sometimes. Just... sometimes it’s right.”
“Hmm.” They both went quiet for a moment, looking at each other. Then Schneep took a deep breath, “I-I did not want to go back home. I do not. I-I am very glad I can stay here. Because Aunt Jess is really nice, and so are you. I am... Thank you. For explaining that it was a mistake.”
“No problem.” Chase gave a small smile, which quickly disappeared. “Uh... I’m not good with all this stuff. Like, talking about feelings and stuff. But if you want to talk about feelings, I’ll, uh... try to be good. I’ll shut up and let you talk.”
“Thank you,” Schneep said softly. “But I think I am not ready for that. Well...I talk with Rya about it, but she makes it really easy.”
Chase blinked. “Who?”
“She is...” Schneep paused, blanking on the long English word. “She is this lady that Aunt Jess takes me to see on Wednesdays. She is good at this.”
“Oh, wait. I think I know her.” Chase nodded. “She’s like...a psychologist or something.”
“Ja, that’s the word.” Schneep nodded back. “How do you know?”
“Oh. Um.” Chase shifted position awkwardly. “After Dad left, Mom wanted me to talk with her about... stuff. But I didn’t really want to. So I stopped going.”
Schneep tilted his head. “I did not know that. Rya did not mention you.”
“I don’t think psychologists are supposed to talk about the other people they talk to. That’s, like, a rule.”
The two of them sat in silence for a while. They looked away from each other, staring at the blank television. After a few moments, Schneep picked up the packet of candy again. “Maybe... we can watch TV. Just a little bit.”
“Okay.” Chase leaned over and grabbed the remote from where it sat on top of the sofa’s armrest. “I don’t know what’s on now. But that’s fine. Right?”
“Right.”
Chase turned on the TV, flipping through the channels until he got to his usual one. Then he leaned back against the sofa. Not quite slumping like he usually does, but still more relaxed than before. A few minutes later, he tensed a little bit when he felt Schneep lean against him, head resting against his shoulder. When Schneep didn’t move away, he relaxed again.
A couple hours later, Mom came downstairs to start making dinner and saw the two of them napping on the sofa, leaning against each other as they slept.

Winx club playslists
Someone liked it so here we go, all my winx playslists songs + reasons
Imma just... Go ahead and tag those who encourage me, hehe-
@h-doodles @theguythatdraws @prancingpixie
Group Playlist:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1A5ssSjVPbpd35kjVPMNMD?si=4ca30869ea514dd5
Kids in the corner- Arguably the best thing to come from Fate the winx saga. Just the misfits, found family stepping up vibes
Alright- Montage song vibes, definetely something they blast while training
Home- “ Oh, home, let me come home. Home is wherever I'm with you. Oh, home, let me come home. Home is wherever I'm with you.” Need I say more?
Meet me at our spot-  Again, the found family vibes + the excitement yet fear of growing up
Lotta true crime- They literally became the next company of light and are an all girls group. I don’t need to say anymore-
Twin size mattress- Their own emotional baggage, trauma, how they found solice in one each other
Sports- Again, just found family vibes
Marlboro nights- Montage vibes
boho days- Montage vibes
Glory and gore- They were literal freshman when they fought an army of decay- and they saved the entire universe multiple times.. Yeah the girls are badass warriors
Tonight Tonight- But at the end of the day they are also just teenagers trying to enjoy themselves in a world that seems determined to force them to grow up too quickly
I can feel it- Montage, stupid teen vibes
Freaks-Found family, group of misfits
Then there’s of course the individual playslists;
Bloom:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/18trVd42Z2FxcVIFEV5AoQ?si=a8af770a5ff94668
Bones-Magic that has always been crackling under-well, her bones. Plus there is no way she always had good control of her magic.
Jenny (i wanna ruin our friendship)- Her and Selena were definetely into each other, i’m just saying- and if not Selena, she definetely had a crush on Stella and/or Flora at one point.
Back in school- Let’s get one thing straight- an adopted kid who’s quiet with a hyperfixation on fairies as a teen- Bloom got bullied and got panic attacks whenever vacations were about to end, i’m not wrong-
Waiting on a miracle- Now hear me out on this- Mirabel’s desire for a mriacle like the rest of her family, Bloom waiting for the miracle that’s control of her powers or atleast to be able to understand them
Runnin’ - ... Bloom canonically ran away from Alfea 5+ times, it just felt fitting-
Carry on wayward son- Honestly I at first added this one cause... my sister loves supernatural but the first lines do actually fit! Except Bloom is carrying on Daphne’s power, the dragon flame, and come on- “There’ll be peace when you are done. Lay your weary head to rest, don’t you cry no more.” That’s Daphne talking to Bloom right there-
Look who’s inside again- Again, Bloom before meeting Stella
Are you satisfied- All these girls are Marina coded- But jokes aside, even if she always wanted to be a fairy, there’s still fear and nerves in there too. Homegirl felt like she didn’t belong in that school for weeks-if not two whole months when she first started
You’re gonna go far, kid- She did as a matter of fact- go far- Plus come on “see them running for their lives” when she has full control over the great dragon and kicked ass in the season 1 finale
American idiot- Bloom grew up on earth and... idk i just felt like it fit- And Mike is definetely a Green day and metallica fan so there-
Stella:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5G3IfiIY4iwZeU8lrCJUGB?si=2ca97c37049a47e8
Sunkissed-Solaria has THREE SUNS, enough said
Honey- Idk why but this song SCREAMS Stella to me
Make you mine- Definetely a song Brandon once put on a playlist for her and it’s been on loop in all of her playslists ever since
Primadonna- Again, just Stella vibes-I don’t feel like I have to explain myself further
Devil town- “Mom and daddy aren’t in love. That’s fine, I’ll settle for two birthdays.” It’s the divorced kid anthem-
The Family Jewels- Did you know when you have both mommy and daddy issues, it’s called parental wounds? yeah... Stella has parental wounds
Seventeen- Stella definetely has a low self esteem despite what people think. I mean *gestures to season 3*
Cherry bomb- Stella has a lot of depth, yes, but she’s also still the ‘trouble making party girl.’
Princesses don’t cry- again, season 3- Same applies to Layla/Aisha
Young and beautiful- *gestures to season 3 again* Come on, her being cursed-
Flora:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/197IGgpoRUmWnyXc9lGFN1?si=22a5a6207df743c9
Backyard boy- Idk, this entire song just screams Flora and Helia’s relationship to me (which btw is goals)
Prom queen- Flora also has a lot of insecurities, but hers are more so about her own shy personality and her inability to speak up. “i was never cut out for prom queen” which only got amplified to appearances when she couldn’t find the courage to confess to Helia
Vienna- Flora is a certified burned out gifted kid with overachieving tendencies
Put your records on- I heard this song and all I saw was Flora barefoot walking around in a field naming all the flowers. Also definetely her wake up to song
She- Flora, another queer icon. The soft spokenness of it all, the sweet, gentle “please can i have this person in my life” just screams Flora
Savage Daughter- At the end of the day Flora is a nature fairy and well, that girl is a goddamn force of nature (pun intended)
Treehouse- Again, referring to her more introverted nature and how the only ones truely allowed inside are the Winx. “Why can’t everyone just go away? Except you, you can stay.”
Some nights- Even with Chatta’s and the winx support, speaking up for things I can imaigne is something Flora struggles with well into adulthood. Even if one moment she seems to be commanding everyone’s respect and attention, the next she can be in a corner, just wishing no one would see her. “Some nights I wish my lips could build a castle, some nights I just wish they would fall off.”
The record player song- this song just screams cottagecore to me and therefor it screams Flora. I mean, wearing vintage dresses, climbing in the trees? Come on. Also “wish i was a teenage rebel, never even got detention.” Flora’s fear of not living life to the fullest cause of her anxieties.
Tecna:
 https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4cbGvZsrqhd8DGhAWmS4FN?si=ab7dbdaec9b54d65
High hopes- “I got one more run and it’s gonna be a sight to see.” Listen- I was daydreaming trying to think of songs for Tecna, heard that line and all I saw was that scene of her marching forward to close the omega portal in season 3. Instantly added it-
This is me- A personal fave cause... come on, Tecna’s whole arc is about learning her own emotions and understanding those of others
I’m a mess- It’s always easier to feel and acknowledge negative emotions rather than positive ones, and even someone as logical as Tecna suffers from that.
Lemon boy- She IS the lemon boy. I mean, come on-
Family jewels- Yes, this one is for Tecna too. I mean, her whole “not acknowledging emotions, operate only on logic-” she got it from SOMEWHERE-
Cloud 9- “when he calls me pretty, i feel like somebody” come on.. her and Timmy, about how acknowledging her emotions helps her get more healthy and she makes progress and the- “You remind me how to fly.” Timmy also has similair struggles and they help each other, come on- it’s their song
Mastermind- She’s the mastermind of the Winx, period-
Rät- “ The hot girl in your comp sci class And I was Darwin's prep school dream, Bred, born and raised to kick your ass. I fell for circuit boards, Rocket ships, Pictures of the stars. If you could only be what you pretend you are” If this doesn’t scream Tecna-
Oh no- “ Maybe it is all a test.'Cause, I feel like I'm the worst, So I always act like I'm the best.” Being a fairy isn’t just about being clever and logical and I can imagine Tecna really struggled when she didn’t score high enough to her liking on tests because of that
top of my school & Price of perfection- These have similair vibes and well.. Mainly how I see Tecna’s relationship with her parents
Musa:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3AZmwiKJMEPzNHb9tctJ2N?si=d825bb7dc0144a1c
Tomboy-Mainly how Musa became more feminine clothing wise later on but also the fact that she can do both, masculine and feminine, she rocks both like a ... well a tomboy-
Won’t bite- Idk why but this is just one of those songs I can picture Musa singing to hype herself up
Tear in my heart- I mean, that first line already- “Sometimes you gotta bleed to know, that you’re alive and have a soul.” Soul is literally what you need for music- Both to make it and to enjoy it
not your barbie girl- Musa is an independant queen, please and thank you- ... even tho she and Riven are a bit toxic, i still ship it-
That bitch- “ And I keep talkin' like I'm taller than the trees (bitch). But my eyes never see much higher than five feet.” All short Musa jokes aside, homegirl is a feminist and blasts this at any chance
Put your records on-  “Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song.” Music is THE best way to connect according to Musa. Sharing playlists and songs recommendations, even a simple “hey, i heard this song and thought of you-” that’s her love language.
Still into you- Her and Riven, no other words needed
Dear maria, count me in- Just musa vibes, idk how else to describe it
Sit still, look pretty- Again, independent queen Musa who wants to make that money and not have to rely on anyone unless she chooses to
Hey look ma, I made it- *gestures to her and her mom* When she becomes an guardian fairy or when she starts making money with her music, just-
Layla/Aisha: (imma refer to her as Layla cause that’s the name I grew up with)
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0J0GMzon7v2Z7tBF6yAm4X?si=3189375851374f57
Riptide- “I was scared of dentists and the dark, I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations.” If that doesn’t summon up her childhood, I don’t know what does-
Sofia- Layla’s first crush was absolutely on that one ginger girl that taught her the freedom that comes with dance
Ain’t shit- Have you seen how homegirl treated Nabu and the boys at first? Come on-
Afraid- “ When I wake up, I'm afraid, Somebody else might take my place.” Homegirl has abandoment issues and fear of being left behind and/or replaced. It just made sense
Underwater- Honestly just a song that seemed to fit her as the princess of Andros. I mean, it’s a planet with like atleast 50% of it’s population living underwater. Also could definetely see it as a lullaby her mom used to sing to her.
Shut up and dance- Layla’s go to up beat song, you can’t convince me otherwise
Runaway- Honestly I just see tthis as her yearning for freedom away from the court, the ability to make her own choices and the life she wants to live
Princesses don’t cry- Same with Stella, the pressure of having to become queen, being hyperaware of everyone watching your every move
Sit still, look pretty- Again, Layla wanting to have her own say in what happens in her life, wanting to be active in every way possible in her life, not a mere passive bystander
Roxy:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1hOEFrvqhya9dsJys68RQa?si=4ef80d945431463d
Wake me up- “wake me up when it’s all over” her utter complete denial about wanting to do with any fairy stuff including the fairy hunters. Homegirl wanted none of it
Téir Abhaile Riu- So first of all, Roxy’s irish so- Second it’s something that just gives Roxy a little hold onto, she loves celtic music as it’s as far as she knows (before she met the winx) the only connection she has left from her mom
Tir Na Nog- Do... Do I really need to explain this one...? The home of the earth fairies, come on-
Show & Tell- “Im’on display for all you fuckers to see.” From one normal day to these crazy girls insisting you’re a fairy, fairy hunters coming after you, hearing literal voices thanks to the White circle. Homegirl had it ROUGH and felt like every move was watched, as if she wasn’t human anymore. “ Why is it so hard to see? (Why?) If I cut myself, I would bleed (kill me) I'm just like you, you're like me. Imperfect and human, are we?”
The last of the real ones- Come on... Last Earth fairy
Sweet Hibiscus tea- “ And I'm not your protagonist, I'm not even my own. I don't know anything, I don't even know what I don't know.” Roxy had.. a very rough and long way when it comes to her path of acceptance to being a fairy. Unlike Bloom, she wanted nothign more than to just be normal.
I can’t handle change- Idk, Roxy has always struck me as a person who thrives from a routine and already dislikes change. Yet a change as big as being told you’re a fairy? I mean... Can’t blame her for acting out-
Freaks- She really felt like a freak, I imagine. Probably way before she even met the winx. Luckily for her, they are freaks too where she fits right in.
Below the surface- Everyone remember those moments where she literally got POSESSED by Nebula, fairy of war?? Yeah- “ Listen close, Follow my instructions. There is no time for introductions. He was the one that made us. You'll be the one to save us.”
You’re gonna go far, kid- I mean, her and Bloom are each others foils, right? They are so the same yet each other’s complete opposite, it only felt fitting that I’d put a song like this too in Roxy’s playlist. Also “if you can’t get what you want, well it’s all because of me” is just Roxy @ the fairy hunters and honestly- good for her.

last night my guitarist and i went to waffle house after our miserable practice. we put a five in the jukebox and basically held it hostage for more than an hour. i guess heart of glass by blondie is our song now. the employees have gotten attached to us and our server straight up asked me for a ride home. i love waffle house so goddamn much.
we had our gigs today. the punk band sounded kinda shitty but that’s alright. it’s all on the new guitarist, but he’s a decent kid. i met his dad today and suddenly i’m feeling protective over the bastard now that i know what his parent is like. he wrote a riffs for an original song that we played, and i put lyrics about identity to it.
apparently our drummer lied to us and is actually on vacation. man i fucking trusted her. she said she had a family emergency and we did everything to cover for her, and i even had to play fucking drums on one of the songs because our fill in drummer didn’t know how to play it and i did. i sang while playing drums and let me just say, never again. jesus. christ. it definitely sounded like shit and i have blisters.
at least the band has a bunch of followers on insta purely because of the outrageous name.
OH AND the hot bassist from the prog rock band we share the stage with is interested in joining our metal band. fucking SCORE. she’s so insanely talented and i actually met her on tumblr before i met her in person and she started talking and i was like waiiit a minute. are you?? that one person i know on tumblr???? and she was so shocked but she WAS. fucking wild. now i can sing without playing bass for that band, because i can’t stand still in front of a mic while singing metal shit. it’s fucking impossible. “stevie you gotta eat the mic” FUCK OFF im jamming around and don’t have a hand free to keep the mic directly by my mouth.
i guess we gotta initiate her. which means watching rocky horror together, going to waffle house, and putting a dollar in the jukebox to play heart of glass.
my favorite kiddo showed up at the show. she isn’t even in the band anymore and she still wanted to see it. she’s welcome to come back whenever, she’s the randy to my ozzy. scrawny little blonde guitar god who writes solos that don’t make much musical sense but sound AMAZING and i’m very attached to her. you know that shit ozzy said about “either he’s the best fucking thing i’ve ever heard in my life or these drugs are really good”?? yeah.
i found out that she got a LEAD ROLE in a musical, talented little brat. she also gave me a birthday gift which i TOLD HER not to, but it’s candy, little squishy toy dinosaurs (which are getting their own shelf in the trailer but i’m not telling her. her ego is big enough), and a note that she wouldn’t let me read. i did the same shit with her gift so i don’t blame her. after the gig, i read it in the parking lot and fucking cried. i love her so goddamn much. she wrote about how she’s so glad i stayed with her even though she left the band, how we have been through some crazy shit but she didn’t mind because we were together, and how we have a bunch of adventures and mini cupcakes in our future. when i picked her up last time, we bought a dozen cupcakes from target and fucking devoured them in the parking lot. she ended it with “i love you man. from your little brat, ____” and when i tell you i had to turn off my dio cd?? to catch my fucking breath?????
god.
my catholic grandparents came to see it which i wasn’t very happy about. i intended to pull a bunch of stunts to piss off the guy who manages the school / studio we practice in, but my nervous ass completely skipped over it all trying to rush to get the set done. i only got in like two jabs when i’ve composed original music about how much of a dick he is. disappointing. i had SO MUCH blackmail AND mocking material.
i’m gonna put our shit on instagram. goodnight tumblr.

The Rise in School Absences Through the Eyes of an Educator
Social distancing is a thing of the past. Flights are full and stadiums are sold out. Masks are sometimes worn, by a few. And while it often feels as though life has largely moved on from the pandemic, students, many of whom spent crucial adolescent years learning online, have not. Four years later, schools are still recovering, with chronic absenteeism becoming a more widespread issue following the return to the classroom after remote learning. In March 2024, a New York Times piece examined the reasons why school absences have "exploded," citing research from the American Enterprise Institute that found 26 percent of public school students were considered chronically absent in 2023 - a 15-percent increase from prior to the pandemic. The reasons vary from parents being more casual with their family vacation planning to increased sick days as sickness etiquette has evolved in the last few years. And though the causes range in severity, the effects on the classroom are significant. "Most teachers are just very frustrated and feel like when the kid does finally show, they don't have time to catch them up, understandably," Avery*, a high school principal in Brooklyn, tells PS. "They just feel kind of hopeless." Avery, whose name has been changed for anonymity, has worked in New York City public schools for over a decade. She started out as a special education teacher before working her way up to being a principal. She says recent data on chronic absenteeism is in line with what she's observed in the last few years. "Pre-pandemic, I was in charge of special-ed for about seven years, and I had one kid over that whole time who had severe absenteeism because of his mental health," Avery says. "Since then, I have seen probably 15 to 20 kids like that." There are causes, like rogue vacations, that can be more easily addressed over time. "Families are taking kids on vacation whenever it's convenient for them because they were like, 'Oh, my kid can learn online. I listened to what school was like then during the pandemic. I can just teach them, and they'll catch up,'" Avery says. When students aren't coming in due to mental health reasons, however, it presents a greater challenge. Avery recalls one student who was on an honors track, leagues ahead of his peers in terms of test scores and credits. But after losing his mother due to COVID early on in the pandemic, the student struggled. "He and his dad both lost their sense of reality almost," Avery says. While the student was shy before the pandemic, afterward he became a "totally different version of the kid that they knew," she says. He always kept his headphones on, sitting in the front of the classroom alone. Over three years, the student ended up coming to school for one month, in addition to one summer school session. And while he was once on track to graduate a year early, his graduation is now in jeopardy. "The people who do have the tools in the toolbox are in your kid's school." Avery has observed parents feeling a greater, "more intense" empathy for their children and their mental wellbeing, but she worries that they don't always understand how the school can tangibly help. "They don't have the tools in their toolbox, and the hardest thing that I have dealt with is trying to explain to parents that the people who do have the tools in the toolbox are in your kid's school," she says. "We have trained mental health professionals here every day to support your child. We just have to get them out of bed and here." For students who may have chronic absenteeism as a result of mental health challenges, the school will work with a student to tailor their schedule or place them in a smaller classroom. In the case of the aforementioned student, Avery says psychiatrists were sent to the home and faculty members delivered the family groceries. "We were just trying to do everything we could to get him to come to school," she says. Still,… https://www.popsugar.com/family/chronic-absenteeism-teacher-interview-49388325?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=tumblr

I'm back from a family vacation and it was a really wonderful time with my bf's family. We talked a lot about getting married and here are a few noteworthy moments:
The night before we left, we were laying in bed the wrong way, cuddling and talking about getting married. I told him whenever he's ready to ask he can and I'd say yes and how I want to be his wife.
At his sister's wedding, the groom's dad and step mom had asked how long we've been married. After responding we're still dating, they asked "this isn't the first time you've been asked this, is it?" "No"
On the way back, talking about our future together, raising kids, and what a great marriage we'd have.
He said I'd be a great future wife.
"On iFunny, there's a lot of posts about traditional women and traditional values and you're like one"
Cue a conversation about the trad/traditional movement
Talking about our future house and having the ability to build on later and having a dog and some chickens, maybe a barn cat.
I mentioned that his house would get too small if we had more than one kid right away. We would could manage with one kid, but I want 5, so that would be a challenge in that house.
Talking about moving closer to his parents so they could help us out with little kids, or at least closer than 2½ hours away.
"what month do you would you like to get married?" (I went immediately into logistics and thought through how it'd work around my masters degree that I'm pursuing. He really meant what season)
"oh, spring or summer. If we had a summer wedding, we could have some really beautiful and rich colors" -me
Talking about getting both our best man and maid of honor drunk at our wedding (I also want to set them up because I think I'd be a funny match)
Talking about his family is going to probably get him a little schnockered
Talking about how his mom is probably going to get me drunk too.
I mentioned how fun it would be to see how our families interacted. I am betting on one of my aunts having a good time with his mom and her sisters and my uncle having a time with my dad and his dad.
I asked him what church he thought we should marry in, mine at grad school or his in the one close to his village
He didn't care as long as it was a catholic wedding (I might opt for the one at my grad school then. It's beautiful up there and not so far for his family to drive. Mine are all out of state, so it won't matter.
Him hugging me and mentioning how I'd be a great future wife
I'm really looking forward to a future with him. I also told him he doesn't have to get the most expensive ring, it just has to look nice. I'm half tempted to go to the pawn shop to see if there's something decent there.
Last time I visited, I mentioned how it'd be nice to get engaged so we have time to plan and also I can be left alone in grad school. Considering how much we talked about getting married, I'm sure he's thinking about it. Maybe we'll get engaged before the summer ends.

3 Terrible Three Questions (Round 8)
Question 1 : Do you still have childhood friends?
🎶 Admittedly, I was a bit of a loner growing up– alright, I was quite the loner. I was typically seen as “unapproachable” to most of my peers, so… no. It’s hard to still have something you never had to begin with.
🌰 Um… define "friends?"
🏹 Oh heck yeah, of course I do! Me and the kids from my home neighborhood are still thick as thieves! We don’t talk on the regs, but whenever I go home for school vacations and stuff, we always try to make plans to hang out!
Question 2: When you look in the mirror, are you happy with what you see?
🏹 Well, o-of course I’m happy! Why wouldn’t I be happy? I’m hot stuff, and everyone knows it!
🎶 I… don’t really know, anymore.
🌰 …next question, please.
Question 3: Have you ever been to an amusement park?
🌰 Unfortunately no, amusement parks were always a bit too much for Granny. Though, I’ve always imagined getting on a Ferris wheel with a special someone would be so romantic…
🏹 Yeah, we’ve gone to one a couple times on vacation! Of course, I won all the games there every single time.
🎶 No. Unless you count the Topsy-Turvy festival in Fleur City, which, from what I’ve heard, is similar in the level of crowds, noise, and profiteering. Needless to say, I’m not keen on visiting one any time soon.

I wrote this short story for you, I came up with this scenario after imagining that Soni would need an Indeedee to lessen the load from studies and handling other stuff.
Another tiring day of having to deal with the problem children, AKA the braincell trio that consisted of Ace, Deuce and Grimm, their knack for trouble never seems to cease.
As much as Soni likes having them around, wouldn’t it be nice to just have a normal day without having to constantly hear “Teacher’s pet! There’s trouble this… trouble that!”.
Honestly, those three should look to a certain someone and give her a well-deserved break.
The certain someone she was referring to happens to be outside of Ramshackle and was tending to the garden.
The trainer who was also transported to this mad land, Phoebe, a young trainer from Johto who was simply traveling the region until she ended up falling from the sky and onto Ramshackle’s lawn.
It was a shock because she thought this was a one in a million chance of happening. So, now Crowley has left the young girl in her care… someone who is also young.
At first, Soni wasn’t so sure about Phoebe. Knowing how most would look at her with disdain due to her being the youngest champion to inherit the title as well as her not being entirely Kalosian.
She was a bit guarded, but seeing Phoebe treat her so casually as if her title didn't matter got Soni to trust her a little bit.
She got to know the kid pretty well, she was surprised when she knew how to craft pokeballs traditionally.
But most of all, Phoebe took the role of housekeeper since she's not a student here. The kid didn't seem to mind at all, in fact she even allowed her to ask a certain Pokemon for assistance.
A short creature with two horns that stood with a butler's stature. Yes, Phoebe had a male Indeedee that was available for Soni to ask for help.
"He's very diligent with household chores, of course since I'd be helping out a lot along with my Audino and Blissey. He's got a lot of free time… why don't you let him be your personal butler for now?"
The Emotion Pokemon was always there to serve Soni. Got piles of documents or homework? All sorted neatly onto the desk and with tea and biscuits on the side in case she gets hungry.
Keep Ramshackle clean? Indeedee is assigning groups to the appropriate chore as well as smacking the lazy ones with a broom if they don't pull their weight (AKA Grimm).
Expecting visitors? Everything was prepped and ready.
Indeedee was such a lifesaver to Soni. She doesn't have to stress over the work Crowley dumps onto her anymore.
Though Phoebe jokingly said that Soni must feel like an actual duchess with how she has a butler now.
"You know? You just need to put on a fancy ball gown and I'd be convinced you were one of Parfum Palace's nobles from long ago" As Phoebe said to Soni in a slight grin.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the smell of scones and sandwiches invaded her nostrils. Indeedee floats a tier stand filled with food towards Soni's desk.
"Indee, Indeedee…" The Pokemon bowed gracefully as if to say 'enjoy your meal' and left.
Soni hums with delight as she bit into a scone with clotted cream. Moments like these make the hectic school life a little bit better.
"Teacher's pet we heard you having a tea party without us! Oh hey, Pheebs!"
"Ace, don't just barge in whenever you like! Very sorry for the intrusion..."
"Henchman, are those sweets I smell?!"
Umm… Oh well, tea time is much better with company either way.
Tumblr media
wakes up to this in my inbox
AHHHHHH!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This really brightened my day! I didn't expect this 😭💕💕💕
Phoebe letting Indeedee help out Soni with her work when she's busy and taking care of her 😭💕 My girl needs sleep and rest! She really does!
Honestly, I love the fact that Soni takes a little bit of time to get used to Phoebe's casualness, but then she thinks: "This kid's not that bad. Much better than most people."
Also, I love Phoebe just having her own little vacation of sorts at Soni's dorm though. That sounds like a lot of fun.
Of course, the boys come in at the right time that snacks are served! That be the power of snacks! 😂
I really like this short story! It's so cute! It's given me the serotonin that I needed for the day! Thank you so much, Pheonix!

Words: 4.7k
Genre: smut, angst, fluff if you squint really hard, childhood friends to lovers AU
Warnings: unprotected sex, bathroom sex, infidelity, JK is a heartthrob that is bad at feelings, YN realises she’s been in love with JK all along.
A/N: this is me trying to write longer fics, I liked how this one came out yayyy. This goes out to the @thebtswritersclub monthly prompt _____ to lovers, in this case it’s childhood friends to lovers. I just- I really liked how it came out, I’m so excited to know what you guys think of it.
Summary: Falling in love is such a curious thing in life, Jungkook would know best, after pinning over you for years on end, only to have his best friend take away his opportunity, or does he?
Tumblr media
The sun was shining brightly over the park as you made your way down the slide, hot skin scorching at the contact with the yellow plastic, although you couldn’t bring yourself to care as much as your mother would, meeting Sungho at the end of it, who was covering his eyes as best as his arms would allow him to do, summer was almost coming to an end and you two had decided to spend every single second of it together, much to both of your mothers’ dismay who had long decided to take turns to tire both of you out by the neighbourhood park, nothing too exciting, if it weren’t for your young imaginative minds combined, which turned you into the closest a six year old could get to being a menace.
As you smiled brightly at your friend, you couldn’t help but turn your head towards an almost inaudible whimper coming from the shaded side of the park, finding a kid around your age plopped down by the tree, desperately drying his eyes with the back of his hand, small sobs coming out of his lips as three other kids, which you knew to be a little older than you and quite disrespectful at that, kept laughing at the boy, so really, what else were you supposed to do if not come in to save the day. “Come on Y/N they’ll make fun of us too” Sungho said as he tried to tug you away, only to have you stand your ground firmly
“If they make fun of me, I won’t cry” you crossed your arms stubbornly over your chest
“Y/N let’s just go”
“You go, Sungho” Sungho was always the type of kid that your mother kept reminding you to be more like, always righteous, never picking fights like you were known to do, but you really couldn’t stand watching the mysterious kid crying by himself while no one else did anything in the slightest. So you stood between him and the three kids that were still making fun of him, head high, fists up by your sides in a superhero pose “You shouldn’t make fun of others”
“Why don’t we make fun of both of you then, Y/N?”
“At least I can put my shirt shirt when I’m dressing myself, Areum” the girl looked down for half a second before staring you down, full of rage before huffing and turning around in true mean girl fashion.
You turn back to find a pair of bambi eyes staring at you, sobs silenced, although his chest still showed him trying to fully catch his breath. You extend your hand for him to take it so that he could stand up “I’m Y/N what’s your name?”
“I’m Jungkook” you were quick to grab his arm and pull him to where Sungho had watched the whole scene with Areum, now staring at the way you dragged the slightly shorter boy towards him
“Well Jungkook, this is Sungho and I just decided that all of us three are going to be best friends forever” the small boy smiled at that, bunny teeth showing in the process, eyes sparkly with wonder and pure appreciation, contrasting the look on Sungho’s face.
Tumblr media
“Y/N I think you need to have girl friends to have these sleepovers with, Jungkook and I are boys” Sungho says as soon as you pass him the mirror and he is left staring at his reflection with a ton of glitter eyeshadow on his face, you turn to look at Jungkook, who is currently sprawled out playing with his nintendo, a set of pigtails adoring his head along with the hottest pink lipstick you could find
“I don’t mind it” he stuffed his mouth with chips as he continued to play on his console, not sparing any of you a look, although you smiled at him fondly, grateful to have him play along whenever Sungho didn’t feel like it, which seemed to be more and more as all of you grew older.
“Well I’m going to take this off” he said as he ran into the bathroom to wash his face. Good luck trying to get rid of glitter.
You huffed out a sigh at how boring it was getting if Sungho didn’t like to play your games, along with Jungkook being stuck inside his own little world. “This is so boriiiing”
“It was your idea Y/N”
“Yeah but you guys are no fun”
Jungkook pauses his game to turn to look at you “We can watch a movie if you’d like”
Tumblr media
If someone were to tell 6 year old you that twelve years later, the kid that used to make fun of you would turn into your best friend, you would have probably laughed in their face, although as years went by, Areum had finally gotten better in terms of personality, up to the point where she had a full on talk with you before you decided to give it a try, even more so as she now took it as her job to protect you in high school, seeing as she was a year older than you.
“Jungkook has changed” the brunette said while taking a seat next to you inside the cozy smoothie shop, crumpling up her receipt inside her bag distractedly as you just stared at her, not knowing what had prompted her to talk about your best friend, Jungkook wasn’t exactly what one would consider popular, especially amongst the higher grades, especially not given the bickering grudge he held against Areum after all those years.
“What do you mean?”
“Just- seems like before summer he was this scrawny little thing, deer eyes, soft smiles” you looked at her intently, Jungkook had gone on vacation with his family for weeks as soon as finals were over, leaving with the promise of hanging out for the few days before school started again, similar to how you were now hanging out with Areum, her having arrived back a few hours before Jungkook “Now- well”
There were a million thoughts running inside your mind, some seemingly more plausible than others, tow hich yopu found yourself asking “Areum, did you fuck Jungkook?”
“I mean- we were both staying at the same hotel Y/N” Areum sipped on heir smoothie as a way to act coy about it, wide eyes turned the other way at the prospect of having said out loud that her latest conquest was none other than little Jungkook, the guy she had always made fun of for one or another reason
“Oh god you slept with Jungkookie” and you really tried to picture her, accepted into college, beautiful Areum, long lean legs, model faced Areum, flirt queen that always seemed to go for older guys Areum, paired up with sweet Jungkookie, sure, your best friend was cute, handsome even, there was no denying it, he was just not- Areum level handsome, Areum liked going out to party, let men shower her in drinks while Jungkook absolutely loved staying home battling Sungho in the newest video game that was around “I-I have no words”
“Y/N- Y/N don’t judge until you’ve tapped it” your friend seemed to space out for a second, as if looking back at her time with Jungkook, dreamily. “The guy got buff”
And sure he did, not only did Jungkook was now full of muscle, he also apparently had renewed his wardrobe, bought a motorcycle and apparently had even grown a few centimeters taller, or at least that much was said by Sungho as you three met up for lunch the day before classes started again, trying to catch up as you did every year when the three of you didn’t get a chance to hang out much.
“So are we getting that newly released game Kook?” Sungho mentioned in what appeared to be the background, your eyes completely fixated on whomever the man sitting in front of you was, definitely not your best friend Jungkook.
“Nah dude, I sold all my consoles and games to buy my bike” your eyes widened at the confession, probably mirroring the uttermost shocked look that Sunho was also sporting. Jeon Jungkook selling his videogames was definitely a sign of the apocalypse. You were about to make a comment before you heard a very familiar voice behind you, making you turn your head towards it.
“Jungkookie, you wanted me to come over?” her eyes had that sparkle in them which you have come to recognise as her being infatuated by someone, even if she didn’t really talked about it openly, you turned towards Jungkook in disbelief
“Yeah, Areum, lose my number”
You consciously close your mouth at the exchange as Areum backed away from the table muttering an ‘oh..okay’ as Jungkook smiled daily at her, your eyes lock in surprise with Sungho’s, both of you silently agreeing that this Jungkook was certainly a new side neither of you could yet guess whether or not you would continue to be able to befriend, although the history between the three of you spoke volumes.
And just like that, enough to get whiplash from it, Jungkook’s lazy uninterested eyes were replaced by the squinty smile you had learned to adore over the years, bunny teeth showing as his laugh resonated in the restaurant “Oh god you guys should have seen your faces!”
Your eyes travelled along the expanse of the space you three were in, looking at Sungho for a clue to pick up about what was happening, coming up empty handed as he spoke first “Dude I almost had a heart attack, I thought you had sold your games!”
“Oh no that I did” Jungkook took a sip out of his drink calmly
You tried not to show how nothing made sense in your mind “And that thing with...Areum?”
He placed his cup down, looking at you with wide eyes humming softly “Yeah that was a thing too, she’s been texting me non stop after we hooked up. I’m just glad I’m back with you guys”
So Jungkook had changed, that much was true, just not as much as he let people believe. Sure enough, the guy was now pure muscle, rode a bike everywhere, and made it his lifeplan to conquer as many girls as his schedule allowed him too; he also made a few other friends outside of your friends' circle, enough for rumours to go around about him being involved in shady business, or him hooking up with somebody’s mum. Either way, if you were to turn a blind eye to his social persona, Jungkook was still your and Sungho’s little Jungkookie, bambi wide eyes that teared up whenever it was movie night and you picked some chick flick, bunny teeth and loud giggles as he played a prank on Sungho, even though you could tell his heart just wasn’t in it as it was before.
Tumblr media
“I’m gonna ask Y/N out” Sungho has asked Jungkook to meet him outside of campus on the first weeks of college as all three of you decided to attend together, uninterested on whatever it was that he was about to tell him, but trying to keep up his fractured friendship with the man (and you) he had shown up, even so a little fashionably late to make his point clear.
“And you’re telling me this because..”
“I don’t want to make it awkward, Jeon” Jungkook scoffs before rolling his eyes at Sungho “Don’t think I haven’t noticed you little boy crush on her for years”
“What I think you haven’t noticed is that I don’t do feelings” Jungkook retorts as he approaches him “And although I find Y/N to be quite fuckable if you ask me, I appreciate her enough not to put her in a weird place like you’re about to do, asshole”
Once weeks rolled around, things kept on being as the were after that fateful summer where Jungkook completely reinvented himself, even as semesters came and went, Jungkook grew a bit more separate from both Sungho and yourself, although it became a little harder to discern whether it was because of Jungkook or due to the fact that Sungho and you had started dating during the first semester of college. Sungho had no real answer to give you when asked about it, saying that outside of the scheduled movie night you three kept on sharing, he barely even texted Jungkook on his own.
Tumblr media
“I heard your girl is getting married” his friend said as he handed him an opened beer, taking his place back against his bike in the middle of the night after some race they had gone to near the outskirts of Seoul.
Jungkook took a swing out of the bottle, squinting at the questionable choice in alcohol “I don’t have a girl Jihoon”
“Oh? Then what’s Y/N?'' he felt the blood draining from his face, heart heavy, breath hitching inside his throat as soon as your name left his lips. Of fucking course Sungho would try to marry you before you graduated. That bastard.
It was quite funny really, Jungkook knew from the very start, back when all three of you had 6 years old and you had saved him from a set of mean kids in the park, that Sungho was never fond of him, or rather, of the relationship you had developed with him, sure, the two men had bonded over a few shared interests as they grew up, but the only thing that kept them together was you. Sometimes Jungkook guesses it could have been him instead of Sungho, asking you out, sharing nights together, even being about to get married. But those thoughts were only wishful thinking, he had long ago decided that you deserved so much more than what he could give you, what with his eternal fear and inability to give himself up to others. So he had let you go, never thinking about the possibility of Sungho taking a place he wasn't worthy of either.
"Good for her"
Tumblr media
It wasn't long after learning that you were engaged, that the invitation arrived to his apartment, just a few days after graduation. It wasn't really a surprise anymore, even back when he first heard the news, it wasn't that surprising, he guessed it was the years of knowing both you and Sungho, learning your patterns, that he had somehow seen it coming. It didn't make it any less hard to wish you weren't about to walk down the aisle to a man that wasn't him though. But he kept repeating to himself to stop being selfish, he had lost his chance, not that he ever had one to begin with, but as long as you were happy, he would be too.
And you really did seem happy, so he was willing to just ignore the way that his chest seemed to constrict every time your eyes locked on his from across the room as the rehearsal dinner, you were sporting a gorgeous emerald dress, the same colour as when you two first met eighteen years back, his mind spinning with impossible scenarios as each minute that passed really just turned out to be a minute closer to watch you walk down the aisle to another man, one that was supposed to be his best friend at that.
“Bride’s or groom’s” A sweet female voice called him as he sipped on his fifth? sixth? champagne flute, finding a woman staring at him with what he has come to recognise as lust.
“Eh.. you could say both”
A glimpse of recognition could be seen in her eyes before she spoke again “You must be Jungkook then, the overseeked bachelor”
“In the flesh” He smirked at her as she took a hold of his hand, guiding him upstairs to where you and your soon to be husband had booked bridesmaids and groomsmen alike for the night. Not that the blonde had anything to do with how utterly horrible he was feeling about the whole wedding situation but perhaps fucking his frustrations out would help just a little.
Tumblr media
Jeon Jungkook was never the one to stick around until morning, that much was true, and although he might be known for a varying of unspeakable things, nothing could have prepared him for what he had to witness at ungodly hours.
He picked up the rest of his clothing after half dressing himself, not even sparing a second glance at the woman that was laying on her bed peacefully, careful not to make more sounds than the inherently necessary, his curiosity is peaked as he hears faintly moaning and skin slapping skin coming from the room next door, seeing the door barely open, and against his better judgement he peeks inside only to feel his heart pounding against his chest, blood rushing inside his ears as he can’t seem to look away from the image presented to him. Sungho, your soon to be husband, the one that he used to consider his best friend for years on end, the oh so righteous Sungho, ever morally correct Sungho, bending your other so-called best friend and maid of honour, Areum, over the comforter as he fucked into her. A few hours before he got married to you. After everything that he had put him through, making him believe that it was in your best interest top let you go, that he should have handed you over to him, that he was the best option out of the two of you to build a life with.
Jungkook sees red and doesn’t quite remember anything other than Areum running out of the room as he punches Sungho in the face, receiving some punches back.
“You absolutely disgust me”
The bastard has the guts to laugh at him “You know, Jeon” he goes to inspect his face in the mirror “If you burst Y/N’s bubble, you’ll forever be remembered as the stupid little boy that was jealous enough on her wedding day to ruin her life”
Jungkook clenches his fists by his side before deciding to turn his heels and leave the room, vision still blurry in anger, breathing ragged, a small trickle of blood making its way down from his eyebrow as he almost automatically walked himself to the other side of the hostel where he knew you must have been resting, taking a few too many second to decide to knock on the door.
“Jungkook? What are you- oh god” sleep seems to leave you as soon as your eyes lock on his beat up face, him smiling at you in a futile attempt to have you not worry that much about his well being, but of course you were already searching for a first aid kit as he took a seat on your bed “Jungkookie, what happened?”
And perhaps he didn’t think it through that much, but he couldn’t let you walk yourself into a marriage blinded by the persona Sungho had always made you believe he was. “Y/N” he took your hands in his, stopping you from rubbing any more antiseptic into his cut “You’ll hear,a nd probably have already heard, too much shit about me”
His eyes beg you to stare at him intently, and although the whole scenario had you giggling out of nervousness, it soon died down “Kook, what are you talking about?”
“Y/N- Sungho is not the man he’s made us think he is” your eyes scan his face for any more clues on what he’s saying a syou feel a beeping sound closing in on your ears, overwhelmed by the situation “And he’ll probably say this is me just being a jealous asshole after being in love with you for more than half of my living years but-”
You stare at him in horror as your hands remove themselves from his hold as if he was burning, standing up from where you were seated next to him, feeling your whole world being crushed down a few hours before what was supposed to be the happiest day of your life “No” you take a step back as you hold your chest, feeling hot tears welling up in your eyes “Jungkook please don’t do this shit to me”
“Y/N just- don’t marry Sungho” somehow he had willed his voice to remain calm
Your head shook fervently at him, as if somehow the action would make him retreat his words “Sungho loves me, Jungkook”
His eyes were ice cold at your words “He loves you enough to fuck Areum a few hours before making you his wife”
He really didn’t mean the bite on his words as he said them, this had nothing to do with you and everything to do with that asshole you called finacé, so he could completely understand when through your tears, chest heavy with rage and head spinning you asked “Please leave”
And he did.
Tumblr media
Everything seemed like a fever dream. The words that Jungkook had said, the implication that it had. And really, if it weren’t for the fact that Jungkook was gone from the whole ordeal, you could have sworn your life that it was nothing other than a nightmare, Areum was as bubbly as ever, helping you get ready. Sungho’s good morning text still found its way into your inbox. Jungkook had not only accused you fiancé of cheating, but had said he had always been in love with you, no further proof to his words, so you decided to go as planned, yet you found yourself hyper aware of every move Sungho made, especially when they involved Areum.
You stood in your pristine white dress in front of a couple dozens of guests as traditional words were spoken, your mind a thousand miles away as you kept on looking towards the door, hoping that maybe, just maybe, they would open up, Jungkook would show up and stop you from making what could potentially be the worst mistake of your life.
"If anyone objects to the marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace." your eyes trail to the soor, yearning to hear Jungkook’s voice amidst the otherwise silent chapel, but it never came.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Y/N come dance with us,” one of your bridesmaids say as the night progresses after dinner, some loud beat taking over the venue at the reception, making everyone stand up to dance, including your now-husband as you find yourself sulking sitting on your designated table.
“I’m fine, you go” you try to flash her the biggest smile you can as she goes, leaving you once again with your thoughts. Thoughts that mainly involved Jungkook, figuring that after all these years, life had managed to finally separate you, heart yearning to have him close to you, the more you became aware of your current life path, the more you realised what a humongous mistake you had made. You had always thought that marrying Sungho would give you a sense of utter happiness, of fulfillment, whether what Jungkook said was true or not, as you watched your husband having the time of his life without you. If he were Jungkook, he would be seated right by your side.
Jeon Jungkook, as deviated as he appeared to be to everyone, as much as he slept around, he had demonstrated to be the most loyal human being by your side up until the last second of your friendship, unlike Sungho, he had always been interested in what you wanted to do, had always let your voice be heard, had helped you through rough times when Sungho was nowhere to be seen, perhaps you had chosen the wrong best friend to fall in love with a few years ago, the wrong man in your life to marry. It had been Jungkook all along. It could have been Jungkook all along.
Your eyes fixate on the way that Sungho whispers something on Areum’s ear and you feel your blood boil, more out of self-pity and annoyance at letting such a man manipulate you rather than jealousy as you stand up to make your way to the bathroom, in hopes of freshening up before coming up with a plan to fix this mistake.
You sigh as you hold yourself up by the sink, looking at yourself in the mirror, pondering just how deep you’ll have to dig to come out of the mess when you hear an all too familiar deep chuckle behind you “So you realised”
You turn your back to the mirror to face Jungkook “That Sungho was an asshole or that I’m in love with you?”
His eyes turn into those deeply surprised deer shape you remember from when he was younger for a split second before they’re filled with something else between lust and deep appreciation as he backs you up further against the sink, a tattooed hand coming up to your chin “Does that mean I get to kiss you with no regrets now?”
“Would you kiss a married woman, Jungkook?” you ask playfully, matching the brattiness in his tone
“Only the ones whose husbands are assholes” and so his lips capture yours in a sweet quick kiss that has you wrapping your arms around his neck, leaning in once again, escalating from a very much due kiss filled with words that are unable to be said, into a fiery pit in the low of your stomach at the prospect of kissing Jungkook while still being in your wedding dress, just a few hours married and kissing another man.
Jungkook’s hands have abandoned their place on your figure in favour of trying to undo the little buttons on the back of your dress, breaking the kiss to complain “God just how many buttons does this dress have?”
Soon enough your dress lays forgotten on the floor, matching lingerie covering your body as Jungkook has most of your body up against the mirror, panties aside in favour of having him fingering you, arms almost failing to keep you upright as he mouths at your skin, moans escaping your lips regularly as he pumps and curls his fingers inside you, lewd noises taking reverbating on the small bathroom’s walls, a faint trail of bass coming in from the party “God you’re so perfect Y/N” he grunted as you heard his zipper coming down before feeling the tip of his cock teasing your entrance, his hand coming up to grip your hair making you face the mirror, makeup completely wrecked, the sight almost unrecognisable to you, a slight burning but pleasurable sensation on your scalp “I bet that bastard Sungho wouldn’t be able to wreck you like this” without further notice entering you from behind, your walls clenching against him as you felt him slowly but firmly making his way in and out of you at a building rapidly pace, a moan slipping past your lips and Jungkook shushing you in exchange as he increases his speed and you bit your lip to forbid any noises from coming out, afraid of being heard even when you knew it would be almost impossible to do so over the loud party noises, this bathroom being so far away from it.
Jungkook had placed your right leg up the sink, hitting an even deeper spot that had you building your orgasm at an incredible speed, throwing your head back in pleasure, feeling him completely inside you as heat pooled in your lower belly.
“K-Kook I’m gonna-ah! I’m gonna cum” a few flicks on your clit with his expert fingers as he helped you keep yourself upright did the trick as Jungkook made sure to somehow thrust even deeper, a loud moan scaping you as he spilled his warm seed inside you, quickly adjusting back his boxers and trousers as one of his fingers collected some cum that was dripping down your thigh to push it back in, letting go of you to hold yourself up against the sink, pulling your panties back in place.
“Think that counts as a wedding gift?” he turns to leave the bathroom, leaving you heaving to haphazardly step inside your dress as you trail behind him, finding him resting against a wall, his bike roaring a few meters away as he smiles your way knowingly as he puts on his helmet, throwing another one your way "So.. all ready to leave that asshole of a husband now or should I wait another 15 years?"

requests are: open!
Tumblr media
ㅡ bakugo
i spent the whole day thinking about how he'll agree to fake date. let's just say he's the one in need.
his mom has been bothering him for a long time now. she wants to see katsuki bring home a partner for them to meet.
it's a pain in the ears and he's very TIRED so he decided to just fake date somebody.
the only person he can tolerate in class a aside from kirishima is you. he doesn't care about the other extras.
he'll search for you in the heights' lounge area and ask to talk.
"hey, can we talk?" he grumbles, "uhh, sure? do you want to talk here or somewhere private?" "somewhere private."
when you guys are in a more private area, he'd glare at you for a minute, it'll make you wonder if you did something wrong, before finally speaking.
"date me for a fucking day."
you'll snort at what he said and laugh thinking it was a joke but the annoyed and impatient look on his face says otherwise.
"wait.. are you for real?" "what do you think, shithead?"
bakugo trusts you so much that you have this significant role to play in his life.
you agreed, of course. it's the bakugo katsuki asking for your help. a once in a lifetime chance. (you just like him, stop making things up)
he brings you to the bakugo household the day after and his house is BIG big.
mitsuki, his mom, welcomes you with a big smile and a hug. he then glares at his son, "WHY ARE YOU ONLY BRINGING THIS PRETTY LITTLE CREATURE NOW, YOU BRAT?" "SHUT UP, OLD HAG! BE NICE OR I AIN'T BRINGING THEM HERE NO MORE."
masaru, who's just sitting there at the couch like nothing's happening, gives you a wave.
the dinner was good. his mom's a great cook, his father's a chatterbox. what surprised you the most was how quiet katsuki is. you're not sure why. maybe he's like this at home? quiet, calm, just serene.
"it's not everyday i see a person who can tame my brat of a son. i can see why he likes you, (y/n)." his mom beams at you, "you're pretty, a kind little one too. take care of my son, will ya?"
not knowing what to say, you smiled at her and said what's currently inside your mind, "if he'll let me, i'll take care of him for the rest of my life." you looked down, "but knowing katsuki, he doesn't need anyone to take care of him. he's strong and independent and he knows it. it'll hurt his pride if someone helps him without him asking them to." you smiled to yourself, "i just hope he knows that when he needs me, i'll always be here for him."
mitsuki smiled at you in awe. you have the mother's approval, congrats!
katsuki just stared at you with furrowed eyebrows, masaru pats his back, "good job, son. i'm happy for you."
he then murmured a protest before drinking his water.
time passed by and it's eventually your time to say goodbye to the bakugos.
mitsuki hugs you for the last time and ask you to come have dinner with them again, masaru pats your head and thanks you for being there for his son.
both of you were in a car provided by the school for safety protocols when he spoke, "did you mean it?"
you looked at him, confused, "mean what?" "what you said earlier to my mom, shithead. did you mean it?" "well, yeah. i mean it when i say i'll always be here for you."
he wore this unreadable and unclear expression on his face. he looks mad? confused? no one knows.
"why?" he asked, "why what?" "WHY DO YOU KEEP MAKING ME REPEAT MYSELF. WHY DID YOU SAY IT?" "YOU'RE A FRIEND OF MINE, THAT'S IT."
he chuckled bitterly, "a friend. that's fucking funny. i literally though you also like me for a second."
huh.. what does he mean? also? you laughed nervously, "hey, did i hear you right? thought i heard 'also' there."
"you're fucking dense, aren't you? do you want me to scream it straight at your face? i fucking like you."
you froze. yes, but embarrassment caught up and you covered your reddened face, "WHY ARE YOU SUDDENLY CONFESSING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT? WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO SAY?"
"I AIN'T EXPECTING YOU TO SAY ANYTHING, SHITHEAD!" "I LIKE YOU TOO!" "SHUT THE FUCK UP I DON'T WANT YOUR PITY OF A CONFESSION." "IT'S NOT A PITY OF A CONFESSION BUT FINE! I DON'T LIKE YOU." "OKAY THEN. I'M BRINGING SOMEONE ELSE NEXT DINNER AND TELL THE OLD HAG WE BROKE UP." "NOOOOOOO!!"
Tumblr media
ㅡ todoroki
i was contemplating whether to have him help fake date or have him need help. it's fitting if he's the one in need so i decided just that.
he might seem dense and clueless most of the time but he's the epitome of evilness.
he talks about you all the time that's why fuyumi has taken a liking to you and asked shoto to invite you to dinner with them.
shoto sees this as a chance. he'll take advantage of the situation because he knows you won't say no.
he goes to where you are sitting, "i apologize but my sister, fuyumi, she thinks we're dating. she wants to invite you to dinner at our house later." he said that with a straight face but this mf is smirking on the inside.
"uhhh, okay? sure? but uhm, why would she think we're dating?" "she thinks everyone close to me is dating me. she's like that.. yes. fuyumi likes you the most, i think. that's.. uh, that's why she's inviting you to dinner." (I HC HIM AS A BAD LIAR)
sounds suspicious and weird, but okay? you have a lot of question in mind.
"i would go. but how should i act? why didn't you tell her we aren't dating though?" "i don't want to disappoint my sister. you can act like you're dating me, if it's fine with you. just for a day."
"sure, sure! just tell me where and what time. i'll be there." "no, you can come with me. we'll go there together."
he brings you to the todoroki household after class. their house is soooo pretty. it's a traditional japanese house.
fuyumi was the first one to greet you, with her sparkling eyes and bright smile, she held both your hands gently and said, "i'm so glad you came! i've been wanting to ask shoto to have you come eat with us. thank you for coming!"
natsuo jogged from the back and gave you a cool wave, "hey, (y/n). how was it dealing with shoto?"
you faked sighed, "awful. how did you deal with him for the last 16 years?" "we never did." "oh.... OH NO I'M SORRY!" "HAHAHA. it's fine, i'm just kidding. no biggie."
enji won't be home for the day. he's busy doing number 1 hero works.
the dinner was fun. it was the funniest dinner you have ever had.
shoto's quietness is the exact opposite of natsuo's talkativeness. that man is talkative and funny as fuck. throwing jokes everywhere. it was entertaining.
all shoto did was take care of you. he serves you all the food you point at, gets you water, he even went too close for comfort and wiped a stain just above your lips. it made you blush, yes. you don't know why but it left you lightheaded. (you're in love with him, that's why)
fuyumi.. our beautiful and beloved fuyumi.
she exposed his brother's ass.
"aww. you guys are so cute together. ah! (y/n), do you remember that time when.. uhm, kaminari was it? i forgot his name but do you remember that time where he told you, midoriya, and the girls to wear a maid costume for the festival because your class is having a maid cafe booth? shoto told me you were so pretty that time! he hated how the boys in your class looked at you like you were some sweet treat, isn't that right, shoto?"
"and do you remember when you fought bakugo at the sports festival? where it was a close fight and you gave him a hard time? shoto said you won if the decision was up to him and that you were so cool!"
and she went on and on.
shoto was red as a tomato (or even redder) beside you. he was clutching his pants as if he was asking the floor to just eat him up.
you decided to ask him about this later to not uncover the fake dating plan.
dinner ended after a little talking, fuyumi gave you leftovers to take home which you will not reject because her cooking is divine, and asked you to come again after giving you a big and warm hug.
natsuo gave you a high five and thanked you for coming. he also thanked you for laughing at his jokes. he feels like he's very funny now.
both said goodbye to shoto.
the journey back to the heights was quiet but not awkward. it seems like shoto knew you have a lot in mind.
you spoke when he's about to open the main door. "what was that?" he looked at you with a confused expression, "the one at dinner."
"ah, if it isn't obvious yet after my sister opened her mouth, i like you. i have been for a long time now." he said that with a deadpan expression, "it annoyed me at first, it annoyed me that you're in my mind whenever i try to sleep, you're in my mind everytime i wake up. it annoyed me that i want nothing more than to hold you near me, hold your hands, warm you up with my fire everytime you feel cold, hug you, kiss you." he sighed frustratedly, "i just want to do everything with you... i'm sorry. i'm not good with words."
WELL YOU DID NOT EXPECT HIM TO BE THIS STRAIGHTFORWARD.
but again, this is todoroki shoto.
"..what? shoto... i didn't know you felt that way. why didn't you tell me?" you asked him concernedly, you lifted your hand to hold his face but stopped halfway thinking maybe he doesn't want to be touched.
but then he held your hand and guided it to hold his face, "i didn't actually plan to confess but when people started talking about how good of a hero you'd become in the future and when everyone started saying they all want to date you, that's when i decided it's now or never." he looked at your eyes, "i don't want to lose this chance. that's why i started telling fuyumi stories about you and asking her what to do."
"is that why your sister thought we were dating?" "yes. she knows about how i feel for you. she told me to confess and i told her i did and that it went well. i lied to her. i don't know why."
you coughed, "so, she doesn't really think everyone close to you is dating you?" "yes." "you lied to me?" "yes, i apologize."
"you could have told me you like me too!?" "it's not that easy to confess. plus, i really wanted to know how everything will go. it went well, i'm satisfied. you like me too, right?" "i do, shoto. i like you so much." he smiled at you, that rare fucking smile he knows is pretty, "that's enough for me."
"BUT YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF EVERYTHING?" "yes. yes, i did." "WHAT THE HELL'S WRONG WITH YOU!!?" "date me, (y/n)" "OKAY!"
Tumblr media
ㅡ midoriya
a lot of guys from the other class have been bothering you. they kept on asking for your number and stuff. one even sent you flowers and a box of chocolates.
you appreciate it if you're being honest. what you don't appreciate is them sticking to you the whole lunch.
you told mina what's happening and she told you that the best shot of getting off those admirers of yours is to date somebody.
you don't wanna to that though. aside from focusing on studies, you have feelings for this certain someone with green messy hair and freckles. you don't want to date someone just to use them and lie to them.
"you know, what if you just get your shit together and confess to midoriya?" "MINA, BE QUIET! SOMEONE MIGHT HEAR YOU!" "confess to midoriya!" she whispired.
"or just ask him to date you until your followers stop following you around?" kaminari interjects, "what, you mean like, fake date him?" "yeah. something like that." "you're really useful sometimes, aren't you?" "shut up, mina."
you've thought about it all night. would izuku think i'm using him? would he reject the idea? would he be mad about it?
after contemplating, you finally went out of your room and walked straight at his door. he opened it with a smile after 3 knocks.
"hey, (y/n)! how can i help you?"
you looked at him nervously. what you were about to ask is a big part to act. "i will get straight to the point. some people from the other classes have been bothering me for a while now. they keep on following me and asking for my number even though i rejected them all the time. i want to ask you if you could date me? IT'S FAKE! OF COURSE. will you please fake date me until they get off me? i, uh, i'm not taking advantage of your kindness. i promise. right?" you said with a shaking voice.
he laughed at your rambling, "no need to be nervous, (y/n)! i would love to do the honors and fake date you! it's like an undercover hero mission. it's so cool! when do we start?"
you smiled at his enthusiasms. izuku is really the kindest person here on earth. you told him what to do, who those people are, etc. your fake dating starts tomorrow.
izuku was waiting outside your door when you opened it, he has his usual beaming smile when you saw him, "hi, (y/n)! ready to start our mission?" he's surely so into this whole thing.
you both walked down the lounge area holding each other's hand. everyone was gaping at the sight except todoroki who remained munching on his sandwich and bakugo who, well, "fucking finally you idiots." he said.
izuku let go of your hand and held both his hands up while shaking his head in a panicky manner, "no, no! we're just fake dating. i'm helping (y/n) get rid of their admirers! they said it was bothering them!"
"okay. but (y/n), why deku?" the motherfucker was smirking at you. todoroki, bless him, caught the panic in your eyes and called bakugo off. "that's enough, bakugo. leave them alone." "tsk! fucking icyhot a fucking killjoy."
most of your admirers stopped following you after they saw you holding hands with izuku. he's been doing a lot for you. he tried to tie your hair at training and brought you water. nothing much happened inside the classroom because everyone knows it's just a show. lots of outsiders believe you're dating izuku. some still bothers you from time to time especially at lunch.
you were sitting with bakugo, todoroki, kirishima, and of course, izuku, when a group of 3 went to your table (they're brave. no one would come bother bakugo's table because everyone's terrified of him.)
"hey, (y/n). can you give me your number now? i just wanted to get to know you better." "(y/n) give me your number! i'll send you lots of chocolates. i promise!" "they're liars but i'm not. i'd take you to your favorite movie this sunday of you'll give me your number?"
you pursed your lips in an annoyed manner, your friends are here and they're embarrassing you. you were about to speak when izuku beats you to it, "please stop bothering (y/n). it's obvious that my partner doesn't want to give you their number."
the group stared at each other with bewildered expressions on their faces, one looked at izuki and asked, "partner? you mean, combat partner or boyfriend? (y/n)'s dating someone?"
izuku wore a prideful expression on his face, "yes, i am their boyfriend and they're dating someone. that's why with all due respect, please leave them alone."
the 3 backed out and apologized. not everyone has the same personality as mineta. the person who seemed like their leader walked forward and bowed, "we're so sorry. we should've stopped when they rejected us the first time. they're just so intriguing that's why we wanted to know more about them. we're really sorry." with that, they left.
you faced izuku and thanked him. it was nice to finally walk and look around without seeing unfamiliar faces follow you. "thank you so much, izuku! you saved me. really."
he smilled at you, "it's nothing! i'd do anything for (y/n)." izuku froze at what he said and started chuckling anxiously, "i.. i didn't mean it like that! hahaha! but if you need anything, i, uhm, i'd always be glad to help." you stared at him and said, "me too, izuku. i'd always be glad to help you! you can come to me everytime you need something." he blushed at what you said.
"FUCKING IDIOTS JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY! I'M TIRED OF HEARING BOTH YOUR SHIT! CONFESS TO EACH OTHER GODDAMNIT!" "oi bakugo. that's not how to do it." "SHUT UP SHITTY HAIR!" "bakugo, you're too noisy." "YOU HALF AND HALF BASTARD I'M TIRED OF YOU TOO!"
izuku coughed tensely, "(y/n), can i talk to you outside? i just need to tell you something." you nodded, "of course!" you both stood up and left the table of wild animals.
when the two of you got outside, izuku's hands were obviously shaking so without a thought, you held it. "are you okay?" "I AM... i am." "why are you acting like this? did something happen?" you asked worriedly.
"no, everything's fine. i just.. i don't know how it started but i just woke up one day thinking how i'd love you to be mine. i want to walk you to school, i want to tell everyone i'm your boyfriend, i want to kiss you good night. haha, is it to much to ask, (y/n)? i like you a lot." he told you that nervously, the boy was shaking and sweating.
"i can't believe it... izuku, i like you too. oh god, are you serious?" "i am, haha! i didn't know you feel the same. i'm really happy!" "i didn't know you feel the same too! half of our classmates knew that i like you. katsuki's just too noisy. he literally told everyone when you did extra training." "(y/n).. kacchan also knows about my feelings for you! he told todoroki and kirishima. is that why he's so persistent in getting us together?" "i don't know. that's just how he is."
you both were awkward as fuck but izuku asked if you'd like to date for real and you said yes.
when you came back to the table, it was bakugo who spoke first, "are you idiots finally together?" you replied to him with a middle finger which aggravated the blondie, "YOU FUCKER!"

Summer coming closer could mean many things; families spent more time together since children weren’t going to school anymore, couples had more dates and groups of friends went to eat from time to time to catch up. Overall, most places were fuller during summer, especially beaches since the sun was incredibly hot. You knew some people loved to go out in summer, maybe to travel or to visit some relatives.
Even knowing how summer as a customer was, working in the coffee shop during the season was another experience, some days it was too empty, then on the weekends too full and some days you didn’t even have enough time to eat. Adding to the stress of working during this season, but luckily, summer was just about to end and since you decided to take summer classes to fasten your graduation and get your degree sooner, you were almost completely over which meant that you would be able find a better place to work and help Jisung pay the bills.
A smile appeared on your face when you thought of him. The two of you had been together for almost a little over a year now; he stopped working in the coffee shop with you  after his best friends from college offered him an opportunity to work with them as a producer in their company, that had been a month after the weekend the two of you spent without Jisu, both of them showed up at his night job, (which you learned, he worked at a nightclub as a DJ and he was really awesome at it) asking him to take a moment and go with them for a talk. The next morning you found him drinking coffee in the kitchen, still thinking of accepting or declining, smiling and kissing you when you encouraged him to take the offer.
Since then, he told Minho and Felix about it, and they congratulated him and told him that he would still get the employee discounts whenever he stopped by to visit them (and you, of course.) The Lee brothers, more than being your bosses, they treated the two of you like good friends and worried about you like they were family. You still remember Felix’s face when he saw you kissing Jisung goodbye while Jisu hugged her dad tightly, a grin on Felix’s lips that made him look like a mischievous cat.
“Didn’t I tell you it would be only a matter of time?” he said, startling both Jisung and you, making you turn to look at him laughing, a slight blush coloring your cheeks.
“Felix, you knew we would end up together since he brought Jisu here” you objected, rolling your eyes playfully. “What kind of witchcraft did you do, hmm? Tell me your secret!” you joked, getting closer to him and hugging him lovingly. He hugged you back and patted your hair as if you were Jisu.
“I have eyes, Y/N. I could see the both of you drooling for each other when you worked the same hours” he explained, his brows raised as he turned from you to Jisung, who just like you had his face painted with a blush.
“Oh” Jisung said, scratching the back of his head with his free arm and laughing awkwardly. “I mean, you’re not wrong, Lix. I liked Y/N since the very first time I saw her mess up a drink” your boyfriend said, winking at you.
“Are you saying that messing drinks is the way to get to your heart, Sungie?” you asked, acting as serious as you could, “because if that’s the case, I won’t let you be in the kitchen when I’m teaching Jeongin how to do the difficult ones” you finished, making both of the men in front of you laugh.
“Ah, he doesn’t mess up as much though, I admit Jisung used to be messier than him. Jeongin’s a good boy, he learns quickly like you, Y/N. I’m glad that we hired him, I feel like the place is fuller since he’s been here” Felix said, crossing his arms over his chest and caressing his invisible beard as he looked at Jeongin who was writing down an order.
He noticed the four pairs of eyes on him and waved to where you were awkwardly. Minho had announced not too long ago that since the coffee shop had been doing better than before now you were short staffed, and since he was planning on giving you a little vacation he made the decision of hiring someone else to help, and that's how you ended up meeting sweet Jeongin, whose cute face contributed to more daily customers as well as Felix's delicious baked desserts.
Since you were the last person hired, it was your job to teach him everything you knew. He had been there for just three weeks now, and he was a little shy just like you were when you first started working there, but as days passed he joined the talented chefs that you had for bosses and started teasing you and Jisung every now and then.
The coffee shop never closed, it was open all the seven days of the week, but when Jisung was offered a new spot with his good friends, you decided to throw a party to celebrate, inviting the Lee's and Jeongin, and of course, Jisu's uncles; Chan and Changbin. You also took the opportunity to invite your ex roommate, who happened to visit you at work and the one who you would constantly text when something interesting happened. Jisung said that since the party would be the first time you'd be meeting his best friends, and since he already knew your roommate that you should invite your best friend from college, so after calling him and asking him if he was free he accepted.
The big important day came, and Jisung dressed with his nicest clothes, putting on that one cologne he knew you loved so much. The party would happen at your department, so when he was ready he announced that he would be rushing to get the missing food before all your guests appeared, leaving you and Jisu to finish getting ready.
You helped her get ready first, dressing her with a beautiful navy blue dress that she adored since the moment she saw it, then you did her hair and told her to draw something to everyone coming to the party while you got ready as well.
When you walked out of the room fully dressed, Jisung and Jeongin's back were turned at you. They were talking on the couch, a movie was playing on the turned on television as they talked without paying any attention to the screen, but the conversation soon died when your boyfriend stood up after hearing footsteps behind him. He stared at you, his mouth hanging and a quiet wow leaving his lips as he moved quickly to embrace you and kiss you, ready to whisper how beautiful you looked and how lucky he was to have you.
"Woah, you look so pretty! You look like a queen, queen Y/N!" Jisu exclaimed, joining her dad and running to hug your legs. Jeongin saw the whole scene, chuckling.
"You look amazing, Y/N. Honestly, if you and Jisung weren't together I would be inviting you for a drink as soon as I saw you" he joked, raising one of his eyebrows making you laugh.
"Guess that's too bad for you then, Jeonginnie, she's all mine" Jisung said, pressing a kiss on your cheek and then leaving your side to sit on the couch again.
Jisu left you to go sit on her dad's lap, and when you were just to sit on the other couch your phone rang, your best friend's photo showing on the screen as you smiled apologetic at the two men in front of you and you walked away to answer.
"Hi, Y/N. I'm in the building, what floor is it?" his voice greeted you. He was always like this, going straight to the point.
"The fifth floor, the door number is 190" you told him, hearing through the line how he walked into the elevator and pressed the buttons. "See you soon" you told each other before hanging up.
You were excited to see him, it wasn't everyday that the two of you got to be at a nice event or even to a party like this, he wasn't a party guy much, and you always went out with your beloved roommate, Chunghee.
You walked to the kitchen to grab a glass of water and when you were coming back to the living room you heard knocking on the door. Smiling and placing your glass down, you walked excitedly to it and opened with a big smile on your lips, already knowing who it was.
"Seungmin!" you exclaimed, throwing your arms around him carefully and hugging him tightly. He responded to the hug politely, patting your back two times and then separating his arms from you, a little shy since it was the first time he was in the presence of your boyfriend. You moved away from him to let him step inside, taking his hand in yours and closing the door behind you.
"Jisung, Jisu, Jeongin, I present to you my best friend! Seungmin, you already met Jeongin, and this…" you left Seungmin's side to stand behind Jisung who still had Jisu in his lap, they looked at your friend with the same eyes full of curiosity "... Is my family" you finished, smiling at him, your head tilted to the side as you locked eyes with Jisung for a brief moment before returning your eyes to your best friend.
"It's nice to meet you in person and not just thought pictures" Seungmin greeted, a timid smile on his lips that gained a chuckle from Jisung who responded that it was nice to see him as well, and so you proceeded to sit with Seungmin by your side and start a small conversation with him.
The room fell silent for a few seconds, the TV working as background noise only until a knock on your door and voices sounding from behind it let you know that Felix and Minho had finally arrived. Jisu opened the door, rushing to get there first and throw herself at the first pair of legs that would be in front of her, making Minho laugh as he struggled to hold a box of something in his hands without it falling. Felix rushed to help his brother by freeing him from the kid's grip, taking Jisu in his arms and squishing her playfully.
"Hey, welcome!" Jisung greeted, standing up from the couch along with Jeongin to help the two men with the things they were carrying; a cake and something that looked like it was probably ice cream. One of Felix's new experiments, possibly, but you figured that if he had brought it on that special day, it would be an advanced approved recipe.
"We're so happy to be here, I can't wait to meet Jisung's new bosses. Are they here yet? Are they more handsome than us? Y/N?" Felix asked, lifting Jisu in the air dramatically, making her giggle and turning to you when he was saying the last part, his accusative eyes scanning you.
"They haven't arrived yet, we'll meet them at the same time, Lix" you laughed, standing up yourself and hugging Minho first, then him. He smiled at you, and then noticed Seungmin who was still sitting where you were, his extroverted self wasted no time and he made his way there, dragging you along with him.
"Hello, we haven't been introduced yet, I think? If you've heard nice things about a Lee Felix then that's me, but if all you've heard of him are complaints, then it's not me anymore" he joked, presenting his hand to your best friend who laughed politely at his joke.
"Kim Seungmin, Y/N's friend" he shook Felix's hand and then patted Jisu’s head since she was still in Felix’s arms, offering both of them shy smile along with it. It was so heartwarming to have all your friends and family interacting with each other.
A phone going off distracted you and everyone in the room turned to meet the owner who simply smiled shyly, turning his back and answering. You could hear Jisung’s voice through the introductions of the people who were currently in your house. You watched all of them with a fond smile, but the sudden sensation of an arm wrapping around your waist scared you a little bit, making you turn your face to find your beloved boyfriend who placed a kiss on your cheek, whispering to you that he would be leaving shortly to get his friends.
You nodded and sat next to Minho on the couch, he was on his phone until he noticed you, straightening his back and smiling briefly at you. He asked how you were doing and how you were feeling about Jisung’s new path, you said that you felt happy for him and that your current concern was that you wanted to graduate to help; your conversation with him finished rather quickly, as the door opened and two strange men walked in through the door, the subject of your conversation with Minho staying behind them and closing the door.
“Everyone, they are my friends and now coworkers, Chan and Changbin,” Jisung announced, taking advantage of the silence that reigned on your little home to present his best friends, a intimidating looking man almost his height with a deadly gaze and a slightly taller one, blond guy who was smiling openly and showing his dimples.
Jisung stepped forward, a big smile on his face as his hand took yours and pulled you in front of his friends. You weren’t sure why, but your face started feeling a bit hot and you were a little afraid that if you tried to speak, you would stutter instead of speaking properly. To you it almost felt like you were meeting his parents, your nerves getting the best of you.
“Guys this is Y/N, you already know her a little from what I’ve told you” he laughed, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment, his cheeks also a rosy color just like yours were.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you!” the blond one said, offering you his hand for you to take. You did, extending your shaky hand to him and shaking it, then doing the same with Changbin.
Your ray of sunshine boyfriend must’ve felt the awkwardness you were irradiating, since he wasted no time in coming to your rescue and started presenting everyone else to them, except Jisu who left Felix to hug Changbin and tell him to pick her up so she could kiss his cheek. While he was busy with introductions, Seungmin approached you quietly, looking at you with a soft smile.
“You okay?” he asked, bumping your shoulder with his own. You looked at him with questioning eyes that only made him chuckle at you. “You looked like you were very nervous,” he explained.
Closing your eyes, you sighed. “I was! It felt like a meteor hit me, but instead of a space rock, it was reality” you whispered-screamed, looking at your friend with big eyes that soon turned soft when your gaze fell on them. “They seem really nice, though. I’m glad to know that Jisung wasn’t all alone before I met him, you know?”
“You really do love him, Y/N. I’m glad he makes you this happy” Seungmin smiled at you, his voice full of honesty that made you feel like you had the key to happiness in that exact moment.
The rest of the evening passed faster than you would like to admit; your little home was full with the chattering noises from your guests and chill music playing in the background. The dinner went good too, the table was full and it was like a Christmas dinner or similar, the table full and laughter being a constant proof of the nice atmosphere. Any sign of the existing awkward silence created when Chan and Changbin appeared was long gone now, and you learned a little more about them and how they met with Jisung just like they learned how the two of you ended up together, a story told with additions from almost everyone saying that they always knew how hard you were pining for each other.
Chan started telling how he happened to meet both of his friends; he explained that he met Changbin one night at a party, Chan was the dj and Changbin reached to him to ask him how he managed a cut between two song without it being so obvious (Changbin laughed, exclaiming that even if Chan taught him how to do it, he remembered how the first time he heard it he was shocked.)
Then, both of them usually hung out by the library where Chan mentored Changbin, and one day they saw Jisung with a guitar practicing and decided to ask him what he was doing. Since that day, the three of them started getting curious about song producing, and so they decided to give it a try, being that and their first demo songs the start of a beautiful blooming friendship that lead to where they are now.
When Chan mentioned their demo songs, you gave Jisung a side eye that clearly translated to him as ‘you’re gonna have to show me those songs’, a look that didn’t Changbin must’ve also caught since he said that those songs weren’t too good and that ‘it was better for everyone to not listen to them’, now making everyone want to listen to them more.
Later, Felix went to your fridge to take the ice cream he had brought and started serving it to everyone with your help. Little Jisu was over the moon because she was finally going to try one of the secret recipes of ice creams that she saw Felix perfecting at the coffee shop, and so more memories were talked upon all of you, not only about the trio of friends, but also about Seungmin and you being childhood friends, then the Lee brothers motivated by Chan’s story decided to tell how they knew they wanted to open the coffee shop. Jeongin opened up too, talking about how he had a lot of doubt joining his current career, but saying that he knew everything would eventually pay off. The evening contributed to you getting to know everyone a little more.
Almost at 10, Jisu was sleepily sitting on Changbin’s lap, you were surprised to see how much she stayed by his side and how the man didn’t seem to mind being with her, it was a little funny too because he seemed to be so tough on the outside, but really all he allowed to see in the few hours he spent in your house he was a softy, and Jisu really knew how to bring that side out of him. When you noticed the little bubbly girl was asleep, you stood up and walked to where he was, but when he realized that Jisu was comfortably dreaming, he stopped you.
“I’ll take her to her room, where is it?” he asked. You smiled at him as a thanks and guided him there, leaving the noisy living room to Jisu’s dark and silent bedroom.
You turned on the light for Changbin who was right behind you, and you watched him tuck her in the bed so carefully, like he had done it before. Curiosity got the best of you and you decided to ask him.
“Have you put her to bed before?” your voice came a little quiet, careful to not wake Jisu. Changbin hummed, looking at the sleeping angel in front of him and nodded.
“Yeah, when her mom left, Chan and I were all Jisung had, but we couldn’t help him often, and then we were called with an offer in America and we left.” You listened to him while he was staring at Jisu, your mind imagining these three men trying to take care of a baby, sweet scenarios playing in your head of them learning how to change a diaper and getting scared whenever she cried. “Let’s go back,” his voice brought you down to earth, and he waited for you to step out before turning off the light and closing the door behind him, like a gentleman.
Seeing you walking out of Jisu’s room, your boyfriend watched as you approached the living room with a smile on his face, and when you were close enough he opened his arms for you to take a seat on his lap. You happily did what he desired, kissing his cheek when he wrapped his arms around you. No one in the room was looking at you, too busy paying attention to a horror story Minho was saying from when he was in college to mind the two of you.
Jeongin was sitting by the table, a piece of cake in front of him that he was eating until he was interrupted thanks to a notification on his phone. When he grabbed it, he saw the hour and he stood up.
“I didn’t know it was this late, I should be leaving, my roommate texted me saying he’s worried” he explained, being the center of attention. On the other couch, Seungmin stretched and stood up as well.
“I can take you home if you want,” Seungmin said, looking in his pocket for his car keys while he waited for Jeongin’s answer. The younger one nodded and added that it would be nice of him to drop him by his apartment.
“Thank you guys for coming, have a good night” you told them when they waved goodbye to everyone.
“Thanks for receiving us. Congratulations on your new job, Jisung” Seungmin spoke again, shaking Jisung’s hand while Jeongin hugged you and thanked you as well.
After them, Felix yawned and Minho teased him, saying that he was just like Jisu, to which Felix laughed and said that he could be right. They made their way to the front door and said their goodbyes to the rest of you, and that resulted in just you and the producers. Jisung offered to drive them to their new shared apartment.
That’s how you found yourself in the co-pilot's seat with Chan and Changbin sitting in the back giving directions to Jisung who was driving. It reminded you of the first time you got in the car with him and took care of Jisu, then you smiled when your memory replayed all the times you sat there talking with Jisung and admiring him while he drove, he always looked for your hand or rested his on your thigh during red lights.
While Chan was giving directions to Jisung, Changbin chatted a little with you, telling you that he wasn’t too excited to go to his new house because there was a pure mess of boxes and half unpacked stuff everywhere except for their beds.
“I forgot how much I disliked moving,” Chan sighed, eyes closed as he paid close attention to the window. Changbin agreed with him.
Once you were finally there, you saw them coming out of the car. You took Jisung’s hand and with a look you told him to stay there. “We should help them, Sung,” you said. He nodded, knowing that you would be worried if you didn’t voice your kind offer to help your new friends.
“Chan, Changbin, would you like some help unpacking?” Jisung said, helping you out of the car. They were standing nearby, waiting for you two to leave and being surprised when Jisung hurried to open your door.
“Nah, it’s okay. You should go back home, though, it’s pretty late,” Changbin answered after exchanging a quick look with Chan who looked at his phone, probably to check the hour.
“We got this, don’t worry. Thanks for driving us,” Chan contributed, watching Jisung walking slowly to the driver’s seat again. “See you on Monday, Jisung, and see you later Y/N, it was very nice to meet you” he smiled.
“Alright, but make sure to call us if you need anything. See you on Monday” and with that, Jisung started the car and you left. You had no idea when on the way back you fell asleep, but the next time you opened your eyes, the car was slowing down and you could recognize the familiarity of your building’s parking.
“We’re home, baby, wake up” Jisung’s sweet voice called you. You blinked one, two times before sighing and taking off the security belt, stepping out of the car and stretching. You waited for him to do the same and walk together to your department.
“Your friends are really nice, I’m happy you’re gonna work with them. Are you excited?” you asked once in the elevator, looking at him.
“Yeah, I’m excited. It’s been so long since we made a song together or shared ideas for lyrics,” he said, smiling at you and hugging you, pressing a kiss on your face. You closed your eyes, accepting it without saying anything and just enjoying the moment. It was small moments like this when you were glad to start working at the coffee shop.
The elevator stopped at your floor, and the two of you made your way to your comfy apartment. You sighed, knowing that you would have to clean and put away everything that was on the table. When the door opened you finally took off the heels you opted to wear for the occasion, sighing in satisfaction when your feet touched the cold ground. Jisung only looked at you with a soft smile on his face, and he walked up behind you, passing one of his arms under your knees and picking you up bridal style.
“Sungie! What are you doing?” you squealed, acting quickly and holding onto him, afraid that you would fall. Your boyfriend didn’t answer you, instead he smirked at you and kept walking to your room. Once in there, he somehow managed to turn on the light before letting you gently on the bed.
Hovering above you, you were able to see the lust in his eyes before he closed them and finally kissed your lips passionately. Your hands, still on his neck, pulled him even closer to you. You sighed on the kiss, moving one of your hands to his chest and the other tangling in his hair. Jisung took this as an invitation to straddle you, supporting himself with one arm and caressing your face with the other hand.
Soon, the intensity of the kiss ended when he separated to breathe again, pressing kisses on your chin and then travelling down your throat.
“This dress looks so good on you, honey, but I prefer how you look without it. I’ve been thinking about it all day, taking it off you. I’m so lucky that I’m the only one to get to see you like this” he whispered, his voice husky, making you shiver.
It wasn’t the first time he attacked you like this; it was mostly on special occasions, and usually he asked someone to take care of Jisu, the other times you two had sex it was very late into the night and rather quickly to avoid the exposure to accidents, so him suddenly acting guided by his instincs and fucking you like it was only the two of you in the whole world was one of the last ways you imagined today would end.
“W-wait, Jisung, close the door first” you warned him, pushing him off you. He quickly nodded, making his way to the door and closing it, also locking it and then, he walked slowly towards you who was now sitting on the bed, looking at him with needy eyes.
His hands went to his belt, slowly undoing it making you bite your lip. He took it off and let it rest at the feet of the bed, now taking his shirt and starting to pull it up until he was in front of you, finally taking that piece of clothing off from his body. Your legs hung open, allowing him to stand between them as one of your hands played with the hem of his pants, you looked at him through your lashes and he placed one hand on your head, patting you dearly before it went down to cup your face and he bended to kiss you, this time more sweetly than before.
He pushed you gently so you would be on your back, he kissed the exposed skin on your neck, being careful to not leave any hickies since he knew how much you struggled to cover them when you had to go out, he was always mindful of you, unless he wanted to show off that you belonged to him, then he would mark up your neck so prettily for everyone to see.
He kneeled on the floor, his nose on your thigh sensually caressing you all the way to your right knee, his hands hiking up the skirt of your beautiful dress and then resting now on your hips, exposing your undergarment. Then, one of his hands moved to hold the back of your thigh to put your leg on his shoulder.
Since the moment he kneeled down on the floor, your mind played images of the countless times Jisung's face was hidden between your legs making you crazy, allowing you to see stars when his magical tongue brought you over the edge. It was inevitable to contain yourself, your pussy getting wet since he started pressing kisses on your legs, torturing preparing you for the orgasm he would soon bring you.
A sigh escaped your lips as you let yourself enjoy the moment, he was holding your other leg open with his hand, allowing him full entrance to your now ruined panties. You were lucky you decided to match the pretty dress with your favorite set of lingerie. He hummed in approval when he saw your wetness.
He had you whimpering lowly, you knew you had to keep quiet but as time passed and Jisung decided to admire and tease you instead of doing something to you, you were starting to grow a little impatient.
"Babe…" you cried out, looking at him with pleading eyes "I need you," but he didn't seem like he wanted to pay attention to your cries.
"You need me? Why, baby? What do you need me for?" he answered, his deep voice making you close your eyes and his words provoking a slight blush on your face.
"I'm so wet for you, please…" you said. It was an obvious answer since he could see the mess he made of you. "Want you to eat me out, please…"
His fingers passed through your needy sex, making you sigh one more time. He grunted, but instead of moving your delicate panties to the side, his face got closer and he pressed a sweet kiss on your mound. When he was done teasing you, he moved away and finally started taking off that piece of lingerie, removing your leg from his shoulder and placing it there again once he had freed you from it.
His lips came in contact with your throbbing cunt, making you groan in satisfaction when his tongue skillfully, dragging it from the center of your wetness, taking a sweet moment to taste you and then going for his objective, his arms around your legs to keep you in place for him to torture you oh so deliciously.
You cursed, eyes closed as you permitted him to pleasure you like he knew you adored, your hand pushing him towards you as an encouragement to keep doing what he was doing, and he never stopped. Your hole throbbed, his tongue went up and down, he sucked and teased with his teeth as well, the sensations overwhelming you but becoming more and more intense, Jisung could clearly hear how you were coming apart and losing your mind from the silent posture you wanted to maintain, but he just loved your moans and heavy breathing when he flicked his tongue a certain way, and how you pulled his hair and you tried to arch your back. You were so beautiful, and to him there was nothing better than to see you like this, so flustered and sensitive from how hard he was going to make you cum.
Feeling how you started to shake, one of your hands flew to your mouth when you knew that you wouldn't be able to resist any more of the sweet torment you were a prisoner for, and suddenly, white hot pleasure numbed you and all you could do was lay there, pulling his hair locks and shaking slightly. Jisung never stopped his attack on you, the overstimulation caused by his tongue provoking a few tears from escaping the corners of your eyes, it felt like something new, like you had unblocked a new level of extasis.
Your high finally ended, and just when Jisung heard you breathing again he slowed down. You hadn't realized he put a hand on top of the one over your mouth to help quiet your cries, but you were certainly thankful that he'd done it, because if he hadn't, your neighbors would think he was ending your life or torturing a poor animal, or even worse, you would have a little girl banging on the door thinking you were hurt or something.
"You taste so good, my love, and you were so good to me too, enjoying how I played with your clit" he murmured, wiping his chin from your essence and standing up from the floor, looking at you with those lusty eyes you'd gotten to know so well, "but I still want you to come on my cock too. Look at me, look at the effect you have on me, Y/N…"
Your hand left his hair to clean your sweaty forehead, you tried your best to look at him when he ordered you to, his pants with an obviously painful erection, your eyes not failing to notice a dark spot that could be seen in the fabric.
Jisung undid the button and unzipped his pants, then slipped a hand under his dark boxers to pump himself, grunting from the touch of his hand against his dick, it was a majestic view you had only seen one time in the shower when he was horny but didn't wanted to wake you up.
It had been after a stressful night at the club full of young college students, he went straight to the shower after arriving home and the sound of the water hitting the tiles of the bathroom woke you up. You had sneaked to the bathroom, curious of the complaining noises Jisung made, and there you found him, with his eyes closed, a hand against the wall and the other around his dick moving slowly while he bit his lip, the water droplets running through his naked body making him appear like a Greek God. You kept staring at him working on himself maybe a little too much, because he ended up discovering you and then fucking you carefully in the shower. Truly, an incredible experience that even if it had been a little difficult to manage, you felt it was so worth it.
Finally undressing himself, Jisung stood up between your legs again, his hand on your stomach and he bent to kiss your forehead sweetly.
"You ready, baby?" he asked, waiting for any signal that could mean a positive or negative from you. One of his hands looked for yours to intertwine your fingers. You nodded, swallowing as you thought how good it was to have him filling you, and second later, he did just that. He stretched you as he entered you slowly, his hand squeezing yours next to your head while his other supported his weight, a quiet moan coming from his lips.
"Oh shit, Jisung! Fuck, you feel so good, please" your broken voice managed to speak.
You waited for him to move, but he asked you instead if you trusted him, and simple as that he shifted and now he was standing, your legs around his waist and arms around his neck, his hands on your eyes as he walked somewhere, the destination being your tiny balcony. You thought he wouldn't dare step outside, but he did and the cold air hit you, and not only that, but Jisung also pressed you against the cold glass door of the balcony.
"You better keep quiet, dove, or you'll get us discovered" he warned, proceeding to fuck you slowly as the moonlight illuminated you.
Two mornings after, you showered and got ready to eat breakfast. Jisu was already awake watching some cartoons as her dad hummed while he finished cooking her lunch. "Good morning," you said, going to kiss Jisung's lips and sitting to drink coffee.
"Hey, sweetheart. How do you feel?" Jisung corresponded to your greeting, giving you a quick wink before turning his back to the almost completed food.
"I'm okay, not too tired. Thanks for the coffee, babe. Are you ready for work?" you asked him. He laughed, but he admitted that he was actually nervous since it was something he was very passionate about, it made you happy to see him following his dreams.
When you were done with breakfast, the three of you went to the car, you would drop Jisung first at his friend's company, and then you would leave Jisu at the kindergarten, and you would go to your classes as usual.
"Have a nice first day, Sungie. Love you, I'll see you at home"
"Goodbye, daddy!"
"Thanks, beautiful. Behave well, princess. Love you both" and after you left him, you drove to Jisu's school.
She was always happy to go, she always talked about how her teacher was so pretty and smart, and you couldn't blame her. He was very charming, you would admit, and not only was he nice to the children he teached, but he also cared for the parents too and let everyone know that they could count on him, he was such a lovely spirit, you thought it was a shame Jisung hadn't met him yet, since it was you always dropping Jisu and then going to college while Jisung stayed home and slept after the long and tiresome club nights.
Turning off the car, you got out of the car and opened Jisu's door, helping her out and then walking hand in hand as she excitedly told you that she couldn't wait to see her favorite teacher in the whole world.
"Good morning, Y/N, Jisu" his smooth voice reached your ears when you arrived at the classroom. More kids and parents were saying their goodbyes, luckily Jisu always showed that she was brave and never spent too long hugging you goodbye, too eager to go play with the others kids to mind if you stayed too long after or not.
"Hey, good morning, teacher. How was your weekend?" you asked him, trying to be polite and show that you were a friend for him if he needed to talk just like he was for everyone else.
"Oh, Y/N, I've told you you can just call me Hyunjin, and my weekend was good, thanks for asking. How was yours?" he asked back, looking at your slightly colored cheeks with an adorable eye smile as he reminded you once again to call him by his name.
"My weekend was also nice, thank you, Hyunjin. How-" you were about to say something more, but your alarm that indicated you should better be leaving for your class rang. "Oh, I'm sorry, it seems like I should be leaving for class! See you later."
The professor nodded in understanding, and you turned and left, careful with your steps to not trip and fall to the ground. When you successfully got into your car, you breathed in and exhaled, preparing yourself for the rest of the day.
That was how your new routine was created; first, Jisung woke up and made breakfast, then you dropped him at work and took Jisu to school and you went to college and once you were done with classes you picked up Jisu and went to work at the coffee shop where you would meet with Jisung and the three of you would get home, some weekends still going on trips and enjoying as much time together as you could.
A few months into the new routine, when you were dropping Jisu at school Hyunjin asked you to stay a little more, explaining that there was an upcoming school trip and he was asking you to go as a supervisor. You thanked him, saying that you would try your best to accompany him and the class as well, and sooner than you had expected, the day arrived and Jisung and you were more than ready to go to the aquarium with a lot of other kids and few parents.
The trip was fun, if you had to admit. Seeing all the fish swimming and getting to know more about them was very interesting, and many kids agreed with you when you said that mermaids were very lucky to live underwater with many beautiful species.
Later, Hyunjin announced that it was time for lunch, so everyone had a break to sit down and eat. You were sitting with Jisung next to you, he was drinking from a juice box when Hyunjin approached you and sat with the two of you, addressing you and ignoring the man next to you.
"You're incredibly good with kids, Y/N, and it really shows. They seem to like you a lot" he said, placing a hand on your shoulder, his eyebrows raised as he spoke.
"Well, thank you. I like being with kids, actually, I've always wanted a big family" you shyly responded, looking at Jisung through the corner of your eye. You thought he would react somehow, but he was too focused looking at the kids who were playing near you.
"Well, you're still young and you seem pretty put together to be a single mother… If you look further you might find someone you could share your life with and get married" Hyunjin mumbled, turning from you to look at his class running around the cafeteria.
"Single mother?" you repeated, eyebrows furrowed as you repeated his words on your head again.
"What? Since when are you a single mother?" Jisung's voice reached your ears, making both you and Hyunjin turn to him. "I thought… I thought I was her father?" his voice cracked, making you open your eyes wide in confusion.
"Aren't you her uncle?" Hyunjin asked, finally acknowledging his presence.
"No, Jisung is Jisu's dad. I'm… I'm not a single mother, I'm Jisung's girlfriend, not… Jisu's biological mother" you explained to the teacher in a quiet voice to not get any attention from the other adults near you.
"You're her dad? I'm so sorry, I always saw Y/N leaving Jisu and picking her up, I thought… I thought you and her were all by yourselves. I…" Hyunjin's hand flew to cover his mouth, he seemed so ashamed from his quick assumptions that his face started picking a pink tone. "I wanted to invite you to a date, Y/N. You're a fantastic parental figure to Jisu and– and you're so beautiful, too… I have a big crush on you, I'm sorry…"
You wanted to answer to his apologetic words, but you were too shocked to say anything, not knowing what words would be appropriate to speak so you turned to Jisung to see what he had to say in regards to this situation instead.
"Look, I can't blame you for liking her. She really is magnificent and I'll never get to comprehend how lucky I am for being by her side. I'm sorry, Hyunjin, but I'm sure one day you'll find someone like Y/N you can love" the sincerity and affection carried on his words made you look down and stare at his hand that had moved moments before to hold yours, you already knew but you loved him and how sweet he was.
Hyunjin smiled at your boyfriend and then cleared his throat, "thank you for saying that. You two make a lovely couple, but… if you ever get to break up, you know where I work, Y/N" he winked, moving to stand up and walk away to get the class's attention and continue the tour.
Neither of you spoke a word about Hyunjin's misinterpretation of your civil state after the trip. Sure, it had shocked you at first, but you brushed it off as something not that important. What you didn't know was how badly those words were torturing Jisung's brain. He stayed up most of the night that day, an arm around your shoulders as you peacefully slept on his chest, his head running wild with thoughts about you and how much you changed his life.
That's how he finally gathered the courage to talk to Chan and Changbin about marriage; he knew he loved you, he knew you were a highlight of his life along with Jisu and he was a witness to how much you and she liked each other. He couldn't ask for anything more, and besides, maybe having a ring on your finger would help you stop getting flirted with when you already shared a life with him, because after all, you were young and full of life, many people approached you and asked you for a drink at college or they also asked for your number at work, and the idea of getting married to you excited him more than it scared him, so why not propose to you?
His friends supported his choice, Chan and Changbin had gotten to know you a little more and you got along with them together, they supported you and Jisung and they also offered to babysit Jisu to give you private time together. They were very considerate, and not only that but they could feel how much Jisung adored you in every lyric of any song inspired by you.
So a few months later, one tranquil Friday evening after work when his friends dropped him off at the coffee shop that was nearly empty (except for the owners, Jeongin, Chan, Changbin and for some reason Seungmin too) you were surprised by his cautious behavior.
Jisu was sitting on Changbin's lap when Jisung took your hand and made you walk to the middle of the place, clearing his throat nervously while still holding your hand, making eye contact with you when he started speaking:
"Y/N, this is where we met a long time ago, and this is where everything began that day when I asked you if you could do me a favor. It was the start of our story together, and after spending many days and nights with you I'm more than certain that I love you. I loved you that day, and I will still love you tomorrow, so would you marry me?" He finally ended his speech with a knee on the floor, Jisu next to him handing him a small velvet box that he opened, revealing a beautiful ring inside.
You were more than surprised now, staring at his kneeled form with teary eyes, a hand covering your mouth as you simply nodded in response to his question, and then he placed the ring on your finger, kissing your hand and then standing up to kiss you sweetly, making your heart melt.
"Thank you, Y/N. I love you so much" and after that, everyone rushed to congratulate you two, creating beautiful memories for you.
That Friday, Jisu clung to her uncle Changbin's neck and waved goodbye at you and your now fiancé, saying that she couldn't wait to go to the fair the next day with him, making you laugh and kiss her forehead goodbye, thanking Changbin (and Chan too) for taking care of her and taking her places.
When you arrived home with Jisung that night, you couldn't help but smile like you did when he kissed you the first time, it was a satisfactory feeling, to know that he loved you as much as to ask you to be a permanent part of his life. You were clingy to him, which also made his heart flutter when you pecked his lips or giggled when he touched you gently, but behind the closed door of the apartment he wasted no time and kissed you hungrily, like a caveman trying the most delicious thing in the world.
You breathed in, corresponding to his rude kiss, your hands on his face and his resting on your waist.
"You have no idea how happy it makes me to know you're gonna be only mine, sweetheart. Just mine," he whispered, his breath against your cheek when he separated from your lips to tell you that. He had pressed you against the door as soon as he locked it, attacking your lips like it was his only mission and then going down your neck, leaving a warm trace of kisses burning your skin.
This time, he paid no mind to the 'no marks' unspoken rule he had given himself, sucking on your neck with the sole intention of leaving evidence of the passionate night the two of you would be having to celebrate your engagement, and you couldn't complain. He had given you the ring you thought you would get in a few more years, you might as well show that you're already taken to anyone who crossed your way, it turned you on a little more, if you had to be brutally honest. Seeing Jisung being possessive of you always made you feel like you were one of his priorities, and also showed you that he had no intention in leaving you alone any time soon.
Moving your head to the side to allow him more access to your neck, his hands started taking your jeans off and were now running through your belly under your shirt, touching everything he could as he kept marking you.
"You're only mine now, baby" he growled, separating from you to take off your shirt and look at your almost naked figure, his eyes with a heavy lusty shadow on them.
"... Just yours" you repeated, closing your eyes and taking his face to kiss him with the same passion he did when the door closed behind you.
Your hands rested on his chest, fingers trying to unbutton his shirt, successfully failing at completing the task when he separated from you, placing one of his hands on top of both of yours and pinning them above your head, resting against the cold door while his other hand slipped through your panties.
He groaned when he felt your growing wetness, he found your clit instantly and rubbed it, making you sigh in satisfaction until his hand went down further and he inserted two fingers inside you, this time dragging a gasp from your lips when your walls felt the introduction of his digits. It felt nice, but you knew his cock would feel better inside you, you loved how he filled you.
Pumping his fingers slowly, you started moaning, letting yourself enjoy his treatment. His mouth left kisses on your clavicle, then your chest and when you least expected it, he was pulling your bra down with his teeth and sucking on one of your nipples, his fingers never stopped their work on you causing you to become a wet, moaning mess with twitching legs until you finally came, crying out Jisung's name when your high hit you.
He kept pumping his fingers, having discovered that you did actually like when he overstimulated you once and since then doing it from time to time, this being one of them, and when you blinked your orgadm away, the pulled them from you, loosening his grip on your wrists and licking his fingers clean from your juices as he hummed.
You thought he would be done, you thought he would like to go to bed and fuck you until you screamed his mess in the comfort of your king size bed, but apparently Jisung had other plans in mind, as he undressed his shirt and threw it to the floor with your clothes and pulled you by the arm to the back of the couch, turning you and pushing your back so you were bending over it, his knee between your legs separating them and keeping you from closing them. He started taking your underwear off, his fascinated lusty eyes appreciating how wet you were, practically dripping.
"I wish you could see yourself, you look so lovely, all ready to take me after I made you cum with my fingers. I bet I can make you cum like that again, would you like that?" He asked.
You gulped, "N-no, I want your cock, please fuck me with your cock!"
"My needy baby, so cute. It's 'kay, I'll make you cum around me sweetheart" he responded while his hands caressed your ass lovingly until you couldn't feel them anymore. Soon, you heard him pull his zipper down, anticipating what was yet to come.
"Are you ready, angel?" He asked, pressing the tip of his cock against your throbbing entrance. You nodded, and he started pushing himself inside your velvety walls, stretching you.
With a growl, his hands held you in place by your hips, making sure you wouldn't move from the position he had you in as he started pulling out, ready to repeat the process, meanwhile you were holding a pillow for dear life as your breath got caught in your throat as you waited for him to set up a pace with his hips.
Jisung started slowly, enjoying how you felt around him and loving the way you took him in, looking at how he disappeared which caused him to moan. You, on the other hand, had to resist the urgency of moving. You remember telling Jisung that you wanted him to bruise your cervix, saying that you wouldn't mind new things to which he agreed quickly.
Maybe that was why he had started more than the usual missionary, you were thankful that he kept it in mind, and now surprising you by taking you on the couch, in front of the turned off TV where you could see your blurry reflection getting wrecked from behind by him, it felt incredible.
"You feel so good, I'm so glad your pussy is just mine" he moaned, stopping for a brief second to take your right leg and rest it on the couch to hit a deeper spot inside you, making you start tearing up from pleasure.
"A-all yours" you cried out, inevitably clenching around him when you repeated what he said. You saw his cocku smile through the black mirror that was the TV.
"Ah, J-Jisung, harder!" you demanded with a whine when he found your g spot, the detonator to your best orgasms.
The sudden sting from his hand landing on your butt cheek shocked you, making you moan. "Where are your manners, baby? I thought you were my good angel" he said, starting to slow down the speed that had increased since he started thrusting.
"Please, go hard-harder" you corrected yourself, and once he heard the magic word he instantly did what you had asked of him, provoking you to moan each time he reached where you wanted him, and soon you were clenching around him, legs shaking and walls hugging him tightly causing him to near his climax as well.
It took a few more thrusts for him to find his release, but when he did you felt him filling your insides with his warm seed, a sexy groan coming from his chest and his fingers leaving a bruise on your hips from holding you too hard.
Pulling out from you, he pushed his fingers inside your pussy to keep his cum from hitting the ground, then he carefully pushed you on the couch and walked around it to cuddle with you in his arms.
"I love you" he told you, his hand petting your hair innocently (as if he hadn't fucked your lungs out 5 minute ago).
"I know," you answered, kissing his chest and tightening your arm around his torso in a half hug.
"Let's stay like this for a few minutes and then we can bathe, okay?" you hummed in agreement, enjoying the comfortable silence between the two of you until any of you felt gross enough to want to get cleaned.
You didn't know how much time had passed, but when you realized Jisung wasn't with you any more you stood up looking for him, only to find him filling the tub, a few aromatic candles lighted up, a delicious smell reaching your nostrils. You saw the bathtub was almost all full, so you decided to surprise Jisung by wrapping your arms around his back.
"Let's get cleaned up, what do you say, sweetie?" He said, removing your arms from him and stepping into the warm water, opening his arms for you.
You rolled your eyes, but copied him anyway and rested your back in his chest. The water relaxed your muscles, the candle's scent helped you feel almost like in heaven, and Jisung arm made you know you were safe. Everything was so sweet, until you felt something else poking your lower back.
With a raised eyebrow, you faced your partner with a silent explanation only to find him staring at the love bites on your neck, but you opted for not commenting anything about it.
"You know… I really love you and I'm happy that you accepted to be a part of my life," he said, his deep voice and serious tone getting your attention, so you faced him to hear all he had to say.
"I remember you told Hyunjin that you wanted a big family, and… I know Jisu wouldn't mind having a sibling. I believe now would be a good time to have a baby of our own, but only if you agree with me, honey" he smiled, kissing your shoulder.
"Are you serious?" you asked him after processing his words in your head. He nodded, his hand playing with yours as he waited for you to say something else.
"I would love to, Sungie. I already consider you and Jisu as my family, hell, I feel happy when she tells her friend I'm her mom. So yes, if you're really sure, I want to do it. Let's have a baby" you smiled excitedly, moving to kiss his lips sweetly.
"Then we should keep practicing, shouldn't we?" He joked, winking at you after you ended the kiss. You hit him playfully, giggling at his question.
From joking about it, you two ended up having sex on the tub and staying there until the water got cold and the candles lighted out, and yet, when you were cuddling in bed ready to sleep, you couldn't stop smiling. It had been a fantastic day and even better night and early morning.
Next morning when Jisung saw you walking to the kitchen with his shirt on, he kissed your lips and greeted you with a "good morning, future Mrs. Han," a plate of pancakes in front of you.
"I'm so lucky to have you" you told him, to which he replied with "I'm so lucky to be loved by you."
And you decided that this was pure happiness, you didn't have anything to worry, and you loved your family and your friends a lot, you were almost done with college and starting to plan a wedding. Maybe you weren't rich, but you had everything you wanted and maybe a little more.
After all, engraved in the ring Jisung gave you, it said "for my soul mate", so you had him, for as long as time lasted, and he had you, the missing piece of the puzzle of his life.
You complemented each other, and comprehended each other. What you two had could be considered 'true love', and you were thankful to the universe for placing this single dad in your life, showing you what happiness, and what love was.
"I can't wait to marry you" you sighed, daydreaming about how you wanted the wedding to be.
"And I cannot wait to call you mine legally" he responded, kissing your cheek.
"I've always been yours"
"That's good, because you'll always be mine in the future as well. No quitting now, babe!"

Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem! Reader
A/N: hi!! i know i have been pretty consistent about updating this fic every other day but i’m starting a new job in addition to school so the updates may be a little bit slower. my apologies!!
Masterlist
Chapter 18
Emily was the first to clock it. She whispered to Derek who told Penelope and then it was game over. Everyone knew about the mysterious ring that appeared on Spencer’s finger over Christmas break.
Spencer was in the break room, refilling his coffee mug, when they began to discuss theories.
“You think they got engaged and married in the week we didn’t see him?” Rossi asked.
“If they did, I’m going to kill him for not telling us let alone be there,” Penelope huffed, stomping her high heel.
“But the ring isn’t on his ring finger,” JJ pointed out.
“Maybe the kid doesn’t know,” Derek offered.
“You think a genius doesn’t know which finger a wedding ring goes on?” Hotch asked, amused.
It was clear it was big news because even Hotch and Rossi had come out of their offices when Reid got up from his chair.
Spencer walked back into the bullpen, stopping when he noticed everyone’s eyes on him.
“Do we have a case?” Spencer asked.
“What’s with the ring on your finger, Boy Wonder?” Penelope questioned.
“Oh um that,” Spencer looked down at his hand wrapped around his mug, “Y/N and I have matching ones.”
He thought that cleared everything up so he continued to walk over to his desk. Once he was seated, he looked up to see everyone still staring at him.
“Did you elope?” Emily asked.
“No. This is on my index finger, not my ring finger,” he held up his hand, “The wedding ring is traditionally placed on the ring finger because it was believed that the finger had a vein that connected directly to the heart but that’s actually untrue.”
“So why the rings?” Rossi chimed in.
“I don’t know. I just really love her and I wanted to have something connecting us whenever we’re apart,” Spencer shrugged.
He blushed at the sounds of the team ‘awww’ing and ‘ooh’ing.
“Also I guess since everyone needs to know everything about my personal life, Hotch already knows but I’ll be out next week. Jo, Y/N, and I are going to Disneyworld,” Spencer smiled.
“Oh Henry loved it when we went but you’re going to be dead on your feet at the end of each day,” JJ said.
-
Jo was most excited for Animal Kingdom so that was the park you were starting off with.
You all waited in line for the safari ride. Spencer was adamant about all the germs festering at amusement parks so he had a backpack full of hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and other essentials. He was carrying Jo on his shoulders and holding your hand.
Once you loaded into the safari vehicle, the tour guide introduced himself and the ride began.
Jo looked at the huge elephants grazing in amazement.
“Elephants live in groups called herds made up of only females. The matriarch is the oldest female in the herd and she is usually in charge,” Spencer whispered to you both.
The tour guide was spewing off facts about the animals as well but I think it was safe to say you and Jo preferred your own personal genius.
Zebras were drinking from the watering hole as you passed by.
“A group of zebras is called a dazzle and their stripes act as a way to cool themselves as well as avoid bug bites,” Spencer stated.
Next was the Expedition Everest roller coaster. Jo barely made the height requirement, cheering when the ride operator gave her the all clear after bringing out the measuring stick.
Immediately after finishing the ride, Jo demanded you ride it again. She was definitely a thrill seeker, alright.
After you took a lunch break of chicken tenders and fries, Spencer insisted everyone wash their hands twice and reapply sunscreen. It was nice to have someone even more responsible than you.
Then, you caught the Lion King Festival stage show to take a break from walking for a bit. It seemed fitting since one of your first memories as a family is singing along to that movie.
Jo seemed to be enjoying it but you and Spencer were trying your best to not doze off. The show was interesting enough, there were animatronics of the characters and acrobats and dancers but you and Spencer were both just so tired after running around to keep up with Jo all day.
Jo tapped Spencer awake after the show ended and the audience was clearing out.
“Daddy, dinosaurs!” she reminded him.
Your final ride of the day would be the dinosaur ride where it simulates traveling back in time.
The three of you got buckled up in the front row of the ride. It started out peaceful and Jo was watching the animatronic dinosaurs in awe.
However, things quickly went south. The ride was designed to seem like it was going out of control. The flashing lights, fake smoke, and hissing big dinosaurs soon began to overwhelm Jo. She curled up in a ball in between you both.
You were bent over, whispering reassurances into her ear that it was all just pretend and she would be okay. Spencer was stroking her hair and holding her hand.
Jo exited the ride with her face in Spencer’s shoulder.
“Jo, did you know that stegosauruses were herbivores? That means they only eat plants. In fact, the majority of dinosaurs were herbivores,” he softly spoke.
You really hoped this ride hadn’t squashed her love of dinosaurs. Maybe she just prefers to admire them from afar.
-
On the last day of your vacation, you were standing in front of the Disney Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom Park. Jo seemed to have recovered from the dinosaur incident and was sporting her dinosaur converse today.
The fireworks you were waiting for soon began. It was the perfect way to end your last night.
“Woah,” you exclaimed after a particularly pretty firework burst into red streams in the air before fizzling out.
Jo was on your hip and Spencer was behind you with his arms wrapped around you both.
“I love you,” you looked to the side where he was leaning his head against your shoulder.
His side profile and perfect jawline were being illuminated by the colorful flashes of light in the sky.
“I love you too,” he turned to meet your eyes with a grin, kissing you.
-
The whole team was gathered around Penelope’s computer, looking at the email that Spencer had sent out to the entire team.
Subject: Having Fun
We are headed back tonight. JJ was right about being dead on your feet. I have to get my two sleepy girls to the airport somehow. Hope all is well with you guys.
-Spencer Reid
Attachment: 3 Images
The images consisted of a photo of the three of you in front of the Disney Cinderella Castle, Jo high-fiving a person dressed up in a Mickey Mouse costume, and a picture of Jo and you cuddled up on the bed of your hotel room.
“I didn’t even know Reid knew how to attach photos to emails,” Penelope stated out loud.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen Reid willingly send an email,” Emily smiled.
In typical Penelope fashion, she printed the photos Spencer had sent and put them into a collage frame and displayed it prominently on his desk for him to find upon his return.
Spencer’s desk had changed drastically over the past few months. A once well-organized desk lacking a personality other than the piles of books now had a random assortment of photos, Jo’s drawings, and sticky notes marking up his calendar for important family events.

I saw on one of your post that said to send you prompts sooo... can I request A childhood friend AU either Felix or Marinette moves away and then reuniting in college in France at age 14 in Felix's school with the Quantic Kids.
It was a pretty normal day, which probably meant something was going to happen. If it wasn’t a normal day, something was bound to happen as well; life in Paris hadn’t been normal in months. It being a normal day meant that Marinette was late. Super late. Way, way, so very late she might as well be early for the next thing kind of late. So late that- (oh, she’s beginning to catch onto why she’s so late.)
She knew even as she was shoving toothpaste into her bag for Tikki and brushing her teeth with frosting (wait, switch that) that she would be late, and her erratic movements were enough to convince her parents to write her an excuse. Not that anyone could blame her; she had to deal with three akumas in one night. Three akumas. Who could blame her, or anyone for that matter, for being late when there were three emotionally-stunted teens each wreaking havoc upon the city? It was a wonder that anyone else got to class on time, except for Alya, who Marinette was pretty sure didn’t sleep.
Marinette kissed both parents goodbye, thanking them again for the excuse note. They shoved a box of pastries into her hands, as was their habit whenever she didn’t leave school fast enough.
They had done it since her first day at her new school, when she was tiny and frightened of new people; having the same best friend since birth would do that. Her father had shoved a box of macaroons in her arms and her mother placed a bracing arm on her back. They told her what to do and she tried her hardest to follow their instructions, standing up straight at the front of the class, introducing herself, and offering cookies. Unfortunately, that was the same day Chloe Bourgeois was joining public school, and compared to cookies, her offer of money to ten year-olds wasn’t all that effective. And Chloe was excellent at holding a grudge.
Of course, she ended up with friends: Alya, Nino, Adrien, and everyone in art class, but it was hard to go about her first couple years of school without anyone in her corner. Becoming Ladybug really gave her the boost of confidence she needed to break out of her shell and make new friends, and now she had a whole class full.
She stopped in the classroom to put her stuff away, pausing for a second to breathe. How was she out of shape? She’s Ladybug, for heavens’ sakes! Those three akumas really took it out of her. Luckily enough, she had gym class up next. (Can you hear the sarcasm?)
“Girl! Where have you been?” Alya smiled up at her from where she was stretching her hamstrings.
“Sorry Alya, slept in too much.” She fell into place beside her, choosing one of the more advanced stretches to accomplish instead. “Three akumas yesterday; couldn’t get much sleep.”
“You need to get over yourself, Mari. Ladybug and Chat Noir always win against the akumas, this fear of yours is ridiculous.” Alya glanced at her with an incredulous look, but when she saw her intense yoga pose, the look shifted and she yelled over her shoulder. “Adrien! Get over here! Marinette’s doing her physics-defying stuff again!”
Adrien joined them, laughing at Alya’s exaggerated despair. “It’s really not that hard. You just have to-” He fell into the position easily and began matching her movements. “There.”
“How on EARTH?” Alya shrieked and threw herself to the right, toppling into Nino, who was in a shaky warrior two. They ended up in a heap on the floor, Alya staring in horror at the two still upright and Nino staring bewildered at his girlfriend. “How are you two doing that?”
“Well, I don’t know about Marinette,” Adrien moved into an upward dog, “but father insisted that I be physically active in some way and my mother used to do yoga. So I picked it up.”
Nino leaned close to Alya’s ear. “I’m not sure whether to add this to the ‘reasons Gabriel sucks’ list or be happy he has this thing with his mom.”
“Both I guess?”
“What about you Marinette?” He moved into a handstand-like position. “Why do you know all this stuff?”
My superhero moonlighting requires me to be as stretchy as a rubber band, so my partner, who is also a furry, taught me yoga. “My first best friend and I learned tai chi, and this just felt like the next step.” Not a lie, just not why she chose yoga.
“Okay, you’re fine.” Alya pointed a finger between them both. “But next time you do something weird, I’m starting a cryptid blog about you.”
“You don’t have the guts.” Marinette leaned in and Adrien flipped down to join her. It felt familiar, like deja vu; not her crush, she killed that with fire once he started dating Kagami.
“Heey!” Nino opened his arms in front of them. “Let’s change the subject, what about that new student?”
“There’s a new student?” Marinette turned to the rest of the class, who were all stretching dutifully. No new faces whatsoever. “Where are they?”
“Not here, he went to the office over a scheduling conflict. Seems like a jerk.” Alya pulled an arm behind her head, glaring with derision in the direction of the office.
“Alya, don’t.” Adrien nudged her with a foot. “First impressions don’t mean anything, right Marinette?” He shot her a playful glance.
“Don’t remind me.”
“That one was a misunderstanding. Mister Ice Cold over there doesn’t even say a word, just nods and walks into the back of the class. At least Adrien did something and he asked for forgiveness afterwards. Frosty doesn’t even look at us.” With that final comment, Alya joined the rest of the class in dodgeball.
“Is she alright?” Adrien side-eyed her.
“Yeah, she just really hates people acting superior to her. Let’s go.” Marinette shrugged it off and joined her in picking teams.
Dodgeball was a mess; it always was. The entirety of the class had been akumatized at one point, and some of the strategic prowess remained. Marinette’s team always won, which everyone attributed to her agility, but it was really that Ladybug had more practice in strategy. The only way the teams could be considered even was if Adrien was against her.
She still won; she always won. When it was all over, each team, sweating and exhausted, gravitated to the center line to shake hands and congratulate one another on a game well played. Adrien met her in the middle with a weary smirk. His hair was disheveled, but there was a spark in his eyes that made him seem more familiar than he already was.
“I almost got you that time.” He gripped her hand tight.
“All that training with Kagami is really upping your game.” She quipped, shaking his hand. “Better luck next time.”
With that promise of another match, everyone vacated the gym to the locker rooms, where Alya continued to warn Marinette against the new student.
“Even Chloe doesn’t like him and he seems like the kind of rich boy that would be right up her alley.”
“Alya, I get it. You aren’t the new guy’s biggest fan.”
“And the feeling’s mutual too.” She griped.
“So just don’t talk to him; it works with Chloe. Why not this guy too?” She wrapped an arm around her shoulder and led her to their desk.
“Fine, but I don’t have to like it.”
“You don’t have to like him either.” She pulled out her notebook and began writing down the date.
Before Alya could make another passive aggressive comment about the mystery new boy, Miss Bustier walked in, the usual skip in her step. “Class, I know I already introduced you to our new student but since some of us weren’t here for the first period,” Marinette ducked her head with a sheepish smile, “I’ve decided there’s nothing better than a redo. So, here’s Mister Culpa, introducing himself again.”
Culpa?
A boy with pale blond hair and paler skin strode into the room. He wore what could only be called business-casual, all monochrome. His eyes were a one-in-a-million breathtaking ice blue.
Culpa?
“Hello.” His eyes scanned the room emotionlessly. “As I previously said, my name is Felix Culpa and I am from-” He stopped when he reached her. “Nette?”
“Felix.” She breathed, barely even daring to say it louder, lest he disappear.
He was a blur, climbing the steps and reaching her in the time it took her to stand. There were no words when they hugged, other than the other’s name. She was on the tips of her toes, pressing her forehead to his collarbone. Felix got tall.
“I missed you.” He whispered, squeezing just a little tighter.
“I missed you too.” She laughed, pulling back to see his face. He was crying. She was crying.
“What in Ladybug’s name is happening?” Alya’s shout broke them from whatever pocket dimension they were inhabiting together. “You two know each other?”
“Alya, this is Felix.” She turned to look at her, hand still on Felix’s shoulder. “He was my best friend from birth to ten.”
“Was?” He bumped her hip with his. “Didn’t know I’ve been replaced, Netta.”
“I couldn’t contact you after I moved! I was ten and your mom never told us what her new number was.” She punched his elbow. “What are you doing here?”
“My family moved. I didn’t know you were in this area too; imagine my surprise when I see what the current events in Paris are and find out that there are superheroes and my best friend is now a borderline celebrity.” He chuckled, running a hand through his hair.
“We have to catch up some time.” She grabbed his arm.
“Certainly, maybe not here and now, though.” He gestures to the class around them, avidly watching the exchange.
“Right.” She released his arm and rubbed the back of her head awkwardly. “Coffee and macarons later then? My place?”
“I would like nothing more.” He quirked a smile that would seem tiny to anyone else, but to Marinette was as bright as the sun. “Until then.” Felix squeezed her hand and moved to the back of the class with a little wave.
She returned it, a goofy smile definitely on her face as she sat back down.
“Well,” Miss Bustier coughed, “since Felix has been so thoroughly introduced to everyone else, I suppose I should start the lesson.” And she dove into a spiel about the first World War.
“Dang, girl. Is it just me, or do you have a date after class?” Alya whispered to her from behind her textbook.
“It’s not a date! We’re just catching up.”
“Sure.”
She spared a quick glance at Felix, who was nose-deep in his book, just like when they were kids. He had such sharp features, and upon reconsideration, his eyes looked even more beautiful than she remembered. Felix grew up just fine without her. Really fine, in fact.
It took Marinette a couple seconds to realize she was staring, and when she did, her head turned back to the front of the room so fast she swore she heard a snap.
This was... going to be complicated.

Settling In - Public Figures: The Todoroki Name
Inspired by: @i-cant-sing
Unlike the other mornings during the past three weeks, Rei doesn’t wake you up to lead you into another part of the house to monitor you in. Today, she gets you up and ready for school. Rei eventually conceded, letting you go to the Somnei Private Academy.
You don’t know how you feel about this new school. It isn’t the first time you’ve had to transfer schools, but it’s certainly the first time you’ve gone to an elite private school. The black, houndstooth skirt and white blazer combination is stiff, but it’ll become more comfortable as time passes. That’s at least what you hope will happen—with this outfit and living with the Todorokis in general. This place is too nice, this home is too large. They’re so much older and different from you, completely foreign to how you used to live.
It’s different, but you’ll manage. Besides, it’s not a bad different, just… different.
Rei set out the red blazer, white socks, and black Mary Janes in the living room. After she made you breakfast (which you ate all of, on Rei’s insistence), she helped you into the rest of your uniform. You haven’t had someone do this since you were just starting primary school, but Rei seemed so happy doing this. You wouldn’t want to ruin this for her, would you?
She passes you your bag and then a cellphone. It’s a coral color with a clear case. Not what you would’ve chosen, but cute nonetheless.
Rei puts her cold hand on her shoulder, “Y/N, listen to me. This phone is for emergencies, alright. If you need anything, anything at all, call or text one of us, alright? We’re here for you, alright. And we want you to be safe at school. So if we text to check in on you, text back quickly, alright. We don’t want to worry about you.”
“Okay.” You reply, “Can we get going or…”
“No!” She exclaims, digging through the navy blue purse on her side, “I need pictures! I never want to forget this!”
“Oh, alright.” You stand there, smiling. Rei’s camera light flashes almost continuously for half a minute. You don’t know how many photos she took, but you’re definitely seeing flashes of light afterwards.
She wraps her arm into the crook of your own, “Now we can head out!”
With the camera’s flash affecting your vision, Rei’s able to guide you out. She keeps you two locked together until you make it to the car. A driver silently takes you to your school, which leads Rei to fill the space.
“You don’t need to be nervous, you know.” Rei obsessively fixes your hair, even though she did it this morning.
You don’t stop her, but you do correct her, “I’m not nervous, really. I’m just—”
“You don’t have to lie to me Y/N.” Rei cuts you off, “It’s perfectly fine if you’re nervous. It’s natural when you’re leaving somewhere so safe and comforting to such a scary and unknown place.”
“I— alright.” You bite your tongue. No school is inherently as scary as moving into a new place like the Todoroki residence. But you wouldn’t tell her that. You’re just going to smile and nod and keep her happy and content, like a good daughter should.

The driver pulls into the drop off lane. The all white, shining academy is surrounded by a massive gate, which you had to wait to go through. Rei just sat there and chattering on.
Kids walked across the campus and you can look at them outside the bulletproof glass of the limousine. You want to look more, but Rei gathers your attention.
“Y/N, baby,” She looks you in the eye and fixes a piece of your hair, “are you going to be fine?”
“Yeah, Rei.” You nod, “I’ll be fine.”
“Make sure you text us back if we check in on you.”
“...I will.” You make a promise you know will be difficult to keep. If this school was like most of your other schools, they'll take away your personal technology if they catch you on it. You doubt they would be happy if on your first day gone, you got your phone taken away.
“If you need any one of us, we are literally a text away.”
“Alright…”
“Love you, Y/N.” She replies, “Wait! I took the liberty of printing off your schedule!”
You ignore the ‘love you’ in order to grab the piece of paper she had folded in her purse. She waves at you through the window and you wave back. You eventually have to leave her. She wants to watch you enter—making sure you’re safe every step of the way.

Going inside of the building was easy. This would be a breath of fresh air. It was your first time leaving the Todoroki Residence since the shopping trip Rei took you on. Three weeks of an isolating spring vacation now leads to you returning in time for your final year of junior high.
You head to the front desk. The front desk lady always knows where everything is. This isn’t the first time you’ve had to move around. “Excuse me,” you ask, “can you print out my class schedule and point me in the direction of my new class?”
“A new student, huh?” Her accent isn't Japanese. She’s not from around here. It’s sophisticated, like one of those high society ladies you’d see on television. You hear it more when she continues speaking, “give me your first and last name and I’ll call in the Class Head for whichever class you have and they’ll be your new guide.”
“Y/L/N, Y/F/N.” You fiddle with the strap of your bag. She types it into the system and then places a phone call. A name you wouldn’t recognize is mentioned, but you don’t catch anything else. She then turns to you to hand you a slightly warm piece of paper, “Do you mean Todoroki Y/F/N?”
Todoroki? You didn’t think they’d sign you up with their surname, but nevertheless, you answer, “Yeah, sure. Sorry about that.”
“No problem. So your teacher is Ito-san and your Class Head will be here any minute to escort you to your new classroom.”
“Thanks.” You go to wait by the office doors. They separate the front desk from the rest of the school and thus give you a chance to breathe. You probably won’t be here long and then you can go to a school that fits you better. Private school—you silently laugh at the idea. You never thought you’d get here.
The kid is in a similar uniform, except he’s in a pair of well fitting pants. He introduces himself and you sigh—at least this’ll only be temporary.
===
You didn’t expect much from this school and in all honesty, you’re happy that the day’s over. The teacher’s alright and the kids are all in their little cliques, but it’s not anything you didn’t experience at your other schools.
Though, one thing sticks out at you. Everybody called you Todoroki. It was a surprise. Even if you live with them, you aren’t a Todoroki. You’re just Y/N.
The same car that Rei dropped you off in picks you up. Rei opens the door and steps out. She’s the only Todoroki there. You don’t know how you feel about that.
She frets over you, as if she didn’t text you thrice today to see how you were doing. Though, you try to push down any amount of unease—your mother did the same thing, some time ago.
You step into the vehicle and Rei sits beside you. She’s the first to speak, “So… how was school?”
“It was alright. Just like any other school.”
“That’s good!” Rei exclaims, “Did you make any new friends? Was the teacher nice? How was lunch? I can start packing your lunch if it isn't good. Just say the word and I’ll do it!”
“Lunch was good. So was everything else…” You broach the subject of your name, “Hey, uh Rei? Why did you all sign me up under the Todoroki name?”
“You’re one of us now, silly.” She laughs, “Didn’t want you thinking we’d give you up whenever you got difficult. You’re a part of the family.”
“Oh, alright.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Rei replies, “You can do your homework before dinner and afterwards we can watch a movie, your pick. Doesn’t that sound nice.”
“Uh… yeah.” You tell her, “Yeah it does.”
